Completed commission for a client. I did several mods to her but mostly for connection pegs which cannot be seen. I did some heat bending to her hair so it could like like the original illustration as they were flying all over the place. I also made her earrings to complete the dress as it did not come with them so were scratch built. The base was also custom made with clear resin in several stages as I had to layer each component and build up the design over several days. First update of 4 more coming over the weekend. First up, the 7 (yes 7) dancing pairs are ready for painting, it was a very grueling and tedious prep process as there were a lot of issues with the dress and then trying to pose them together, not to mention being extremely careful with the clear parts to not scratch or break them, so it took twice the time to sand. I've been working on this Serenity for a while now, I mentioned in a previous post that Usa-P house didn't do good connection pegs, so I also applied some polystyrene strips to her back bow so I can make new and more secure connections since this is a commission and I don't want my client to hassle with poorly made connections that make it impossible for the piece to stay in place even with pins. So the bow and the hair connections were remade for more secure fits and stability. I also had to sit and resculpt some areas on her because it's a very old kit and a lot of details on her shoulders/collarbone and sides of her were worn out/sanded. I also took the liberty to heat bend the bow and the pigtails to look more accurately to the original position in the illustration they took the design from.
