Student Profile
It's hard being a student these days, harder than many might think it is. The phrase "student life" might bring to mind nights out, relaxing and drinking and dancing with friends old and new, turning up to classes whenever it suits and sailing through the so called best years of your life.
The reality for most of, if not all, students these days is far from that idealised, easy going lifestyle. A majority of students are working at least part time in order to support themselves, with many having to pay fully or at least contribute to rent and student fees, all while trying to balance the workload given to them in college.
Aoife Kearns is a student journalist in third year in TU Dublin who has moved to the "big smoke" from Mooncoin for the duration of her course. During weekdays she stays down in her apartment in Glasnevin and then travels back home on the weekends for her job in Beat, one of the main radio stations in the South-east.
"It's not easy being in college, going to lectures and coming back to do the coursework while also working to help pay my rent and try learn and plan for what'll hopefully be my future career". Aoife's week starts off with her two and a half hour bus to Dublin, either late Sunday night or very early Monday morning to ensure she makes it in for her classes. Thursday night or very early Friday morning sees her getting the bus back in order to make it in for her shifts in the radio station, either on air or behind the scenes.
"I chose this course because I've always been fascinated with the idea of being a journalist, of finding and creating and sharing news. When I started working in Beat I realised that this really was the career I enjoyed and wanted to pursue, even though it's difficult sometimes to balance working the shifts I work with what's expected from me in college".
As well as trying to balance college with work, Aoife shares her apartment with three other students and has to make the time to keep the place clean and "livable".
"We all really try to keep our place clean at least, if not super tidy. Sometimes we're busy or stressed out by assignments and that reflects on our living space, but we do all try our best, and I know for me personally it helps calm me down and centre me when I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything to give the place a good clean!".
Students mental health is becoming a huge talking point worldwide and is something that many students will have suffered with during their time in college. Multiple assignments and deadlines lead to stress, and many find it hard to cope, especially as their courses advance.
"I try my best to spend at least a few hours a week doing things I like and that relax me, especially when I feel myself start to be affected by the workload. Music has always been huge in my life, and taking the time to play or to sing makes me feel more settled and happy in my own skin".
A lot of focus in media regarding students tends to be focused more on the negative, with articles about excessive binge drinking and drop outs and antisocial behaviour being almost commonplace. However, the vast majority of students, like Aoife, are doing their best to get their degree and make something of their future, spending weeks and months and years working hard to finish and graduate.
They're the future, and it looks bright.

Pride Month Story #13: Hard to be a Hero
See the original tweets here: https://twitter.com/gleebags/status/1539602183145922560
When superhero Harry Heston woke up, he was only a little surprised to find that he had a vagina. It happened more often than one thought. Being a superhero wasn't easy; it required rolling with the punches.
Harry had rolled with a LOT.
He went through his morning routine. Running water, modern toothbrushes, and electricity: good, good, he wasn't in some kind of fantasy or historical alternate universe. He threw on his jogging sweats and opened the door, assessing the situation with some caution.
The sky was a completely normal blue, studded with small marshmallow-fluff clouds. This didn't necessarily rule out that he was living in some kind of dystopian computer simulation or elaborate prison compound, but the sky glitching horribly would've definitely meant he was.
No screams, no zombies, no space aliens, no giant Japanese monsters tearing up the skyline—which was great, Harry was a chill guy but he wasn't crazy about crossovers; they always made him feel like he had to work extra hard to fit in. None of this meant anything, of course.
He drew in a deep breath. Time to see what the day had for him.
He jogged through the streets of Capital City, headed towards Central Park. Along the way he stopped by a Mooncoin for small latte. The barista was pleasant but forgettable. Another possibility eliminated, then.
The mundanity was making the space between his shoulders itch. Usually by now he would've run into either his best friend and occasional rival, Tim Trent, AKA the Steel Soldier, or his arch-nemesis, Rex Ruthless. Harry was no stranger to long setups, but this one felt aimless.
It all became clear when he arrived at the park and was promptly bowled over by a Saint Bernard the size of a Shetland pony. As he lay on the ground being slobbered on by, fine, a very cute, very large dog, even though he liked cats better, he heard a familiar voice.
"Oh god," said Jake Jenson, the Teen Trooper. Tim's protege. "I am SO sorry, sir! Hamlet is normally so well-behaved; I have no idea what came over him."
Right. Harry was looking at a rarepair sitch, then, one with a big age difference. This was fine; Jake was a good boy. Usually endowed with an improbably large dick and not the the first clue about what to do with it, but that's where Harry (but more frequently Tim) came in. So to speak.
"It's OK," Harry said as Hamlet was pulled off him. He got on his feet and saw six other dogs on leashes.
Right, right, dogwalker. Of course. Harry wondered if he had any powers. He'd failed to test before he'd left the house. Rookie mistake.
"Don't worry," said Harry. "No harm done. I love big dogs. I had a newfie, Petunia. She died last year. I still miss her every day."
He bent down to pet Hamlet, who went into ecstasies. Harry heard the details he hadn't known spill out of his own mouth with resignation.
He was probably looking at domestic fluff or porn without plot, possibly both. Sex pollen still wasn't off the table, not by a long shot.
This was nice, actually. Likely going to be a pretty relaxing time. Petunia's death was probably going to be the worst thing to happen to him.
His hypothesis was confirmed when Jake's huge blue eyes widened, his freckled face creasing into an appealing expression of sympathy.
"Gosh, I'm so sorry." Jake reached out a hand and touched Harry's arm, giving a warm, sympathetic squeeze before snatching it away. A blush flooded his face. Harry liked it. He liked it a LOT. His type was normally hard-bitten supersoldiers but...there was something about Jake.
He was so tender. So sincere. So unguarded. It was making something stir in Harry's heart, which had snapped the fuck shut four years ago at the death of his husband, the love of his life, Tim Tr—oh.
Damn. A pang of genuine grief rocked Harry. Tim wasn't in this universe.
Petunia's death wasn't the worst thing to have happened to him, after all. Harry adjusted his expectations.
"It's OK," said Harry, "it was a while ago." He smiled. Jake smiled back at him, expression a bit dazzled. Harry had to be careful with this kid, he realized.
Harry had scars Jake couldn't even begin to imagine, between Tim's death, which had been his fault, and the small matter of him trying to retire from being an assassin—ah, dammit, how much trauma was he going to have to process here?
Then he looked into Jake's blue eyes.
He completely lost his train of thought, which was further derailed by Hamlet, who yanked free of Jake's grip and shoved himself against Harry. At least he was braced for it this time.
"Hey fella," said Harry, playing with Hamlet's ears. Hamlet gave a snort of ecstasy.
"Hamlet!" said Jake, scrabbling for the leash. Harry grabbed it and handed it over to Jake, grinning a little. "I really don't know what's come over him. Young man, do we need to go back to obedience school?"
"Here, how about I take Hamlet? We can do your circuit together."
Jake's cheeks flamed again. Harry raised an eyebrow. "Unless that's not allowed?" he said. "Guess I am a weirdo you just met off the street. Could be a vicious Saint Bernard thief."
"No, it's OK, you can walk Hamlet with me if you want," said Jake. "Um. Because Hamlet's mine."
He shot Harry a shy look from under his lashes. "I'm Jake, by the way. Nice to meet you. Sorry my dog mauled you." He stuck out his hand.
"Harry," said Harry, taking Jake's hand and shaking it. His grip was warm and dry. Soft. A scholar's hand, not a crimefighter's.
"Nice to meet you, Harry," said Jake.
"My pleasure," said Harry, charmed against his will.
As they struck off down the path towards the dog park, Harry realized he knew why Jake looked so familiar.
He was Jake Jenson. Youngest son of oil magnate and philanthropist, Joe Jenson.
The man Harry was contracted to kill on this, his last job.
Harry sighed internally. Angst with a happy ending, then. Maybe. A man can hope.
He looked over at the spray of freckles on Jake's cheekbones, and felt something bloom in his chest.
A man can definitely hope.

Numerous Folks Assume NFTs Are Cryptocurrency (and They’re Unsuitable)
Between Dogecoin, Mooncoin, Garlicoin, BaconCoin and so many extra… there are numerous cryptos to maintain straight. However “NFT” isn’t certainly one of them. That’s proper, an NFT, or non-fungible token, isn't a cryptocurrency. However in case you didn’t know that, you’re not alone: Greater than 1 in 10 individuals (12%) assume NFTs are a type of cryptocurrency, in response to a brand new ballot from Cash and choice intelligence firm Morning Seek the advice of. The two,210 respondents of the survey got a lineup of potential definitions for NFTs, and solely 26% selected accurately. Along with the misunderstanding that NFTs are a sort of cryptocurrency, 7% incorrectly thought NFTs have been a bodily asset traded on-line utilizing blockchain expertise, and 12% wrongly recognized them as digital property that may be purchased, bought or traded with U.S. {dollars}. (This survey passed off earlier than reviews that NFT market OpenSea is rolling out direct card funds.) The remainder of these surveyed (43%) mentioned they didn’t know or had no opinion on what an NFT is. NFTs are a brand new innovation, and the expertise is unquestionably complicated, so don’t beat your self up if the query of what an NFT is leaves you stumped. Plus, whereas they aren’t truly a sort of cryptocurrency like bitcoin, they’re in the identical ballpark.
Are NFTs a type of cryptocurrency?
First, let’s nail down the definition: NFTs are distinctive digital property with possession information that may be saved on a blockchain and purchased, bought or traded on-line. “Non-fungible” refers to one thing that may’t get replaced in the identical means that, say, a greenback invoice can. That signifies that in case you purchase an NFT of the Nyan cat with a Pop-Tart for a physique, or Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s first tweet, you and also you alone personal that digital asset. Whilst you seemingly can’t truly get your palms on these NFTs — they bought for practically $600,000 and $2.9 million respectively — you should purchase different NFTs on marketplaces like OpenSea. That’s the place cryptocurrency is available in. Sometimes, you haven’t been in a position to simply fork over U.S. {dollars} for these digital property. Most NFTs are a part of the Ethereum blockchain, and are purchased with the native token of the blockchain, ether. Briefly: ether is a cryptocurrency, and an NFT isn't. “The most important barrier to understanding NFTs is that they're primarily based on the sophisticated applied sciences of blockchain and cryptocurrency,” Charlotte Principato, a Morning Seek the advice of monetary providers analyst, wrote in an electronic mail to Cash. An earlier Morning Seek the advice of survey discovered that individuals who personal crypto are more likely to pay attention to NFTs than those that don’t. The identical goes for his or her consciousness of phrases like blockchain and Web3. We see hints of that within the Cash and Morning Seek the advice of research, too. For instance, millennials and males, who're probably to personal cryptocurrency, report higher understanding of NFTs than different demographics, Principato mentioned. Roughly one-third of male respondents (32%) recognized the proper definition of NFTs, versus 20% of feminine respondents. In the meantime, 31% of millennials selected the precise definition in comparison with 26% of Gen Z-ers, 22% of Gen X-ers and 25% of Child Boomers. “It is vitally seemingly that the respondents who reported increased understanding of NFTs are cryptocurrency house owners,” Principato added. Julia Glum contributed to this reporting.

Not only will this make it easier for millions of people around the world to book their holidays, but it will also create huge opportunities for SurfMoon. Why Pay With Cryptocurrencies?
Apart from obvious reasons, such as decentralization, eliminating middlemen and faster transaction fees, there are also other advantages, such as eliminating problems with exchange rates, and travel 'brokers' trying to take advantage of raising prices. We'd also like to offer an exclusive discount to those holding SurfMoon, details of which will hopefully be announced in the near future. Of course realizing all of these ideas will require a large budget, which we seek to increase through the sale/purchase tax structure, donation pools and through NFT sales. This tax structure will help us bring our gifts to life, including travel packages to major destinations around the world
Core Values
Strong Community
As SurfMoon will launch on the Binance Smart Chain, a strong community is critical to keeping the project alive and gaining exposure, as well as in deciding the future of the project. Ultimately, community tokens are as powerful as those coming together as a collective to share a vision.
Transparency
Transparency is a key factor for SurfMoon. The community coin room is filled with 'rugs', distrust, and with behavior that is normally not tolerated by shareholders in conventional business models. The goal is to inspire as much confidence as possible by documenting all plans, time frames, and by communicating regularly with the community.
Innovation
We want to add value by creating tokens that innovate and add value to the BSC space. Our development wallet will be critical to this, and we will continue to ensure that we strive to achieve our long-term goals. Expanding our team and consulting internally will help us achieve these goals, as well as create new ones.
Longevity
SurfMoon is here to stay. We want to prove our project in the future by continuing to build our infrastructure and create partnerships. We want our investors to feel comfortable holding our tokens, knowing that the team will do their best in the background to grow our ecosystem.
Tokenomics
Our tokenomic structure includes BNB reflection, which is the current trend in the community coin space. It differs from native token reflection in that it prevents the chart from dumping from selling, as well as promoting holding and inspiring investor safety. If the token market cap suffers, all those holding the original token suffer as well. Meanwhile, if the BNB reflection is distributed, it is unlikely to have an impact on the investor's portfolio. Apart from that, BNB reflections also promote token purchases, as they can serve as a means of passive income.
