SINCE I CANNOT FIND THE WORDS FOR THE TRANSITION

I have decided to create a timeline for my au, that should help me figure out how i want to lay it out

BW stands for before war: before the great war between gods that wiped out all but five.

AW stands for after war, when the final god was felled, the tyrannical god of Law that was cut down by Narinder

DW is the uncertain time during the war, because time and seasons ceased to have meaning, as night and day clashed, as time struggled to find peace, as no one, god or mortal, could find rest.

TIMELINE BELOW CUT:

universe is born. Chemach, Clunek, and Kludaii are created.

BW, some indeterminate time far in the past, soon after the universe: the first crowns are crafted, one being death, by Chemac.

130 years BW: shamura is born

108 BW: Kallamar is born

103 BW: Narinder is born, with Hypnos alongside them. Narinder is orphaned due to him being an "ill omen"

98 BW: kallamar is adopted by shamura

97 BW: Shamura earns the crown of war in a ritual held by the old god of war

91 BW: Narinder and Hypos' town is destroyed by a battle between Ala, god of storms and harvest, and another minor god. Narinder becomes a bandit to survive.

89 BW: Kallamar earns his crown as a successor to the previous god of plagues, do to his diligent research into the root cause of sickness (germs discovered)

87 BW: narinder encounters his first ghost, does a good deed for the dead at the behest of Hypnos, causing him to miss Shamura

86 BW: Narinders first encounter with shamura. Immediately adopted, due to shamuras visions

84 BW: hecket born

83 BW: Narinder finds his crown, with the old god of death having gone missing. they tend to do that.

80 BW: hecket is adopted, and leshy is born and adopted soon after. narinder found him :)

71 BW: the god of feasts dies suddenly under mysterious circumstances. no one knows what happened, except that they were murdered.

64 BW: Heket is chosen by the yellow crown. as was foretold.

64-63 BW: on new years, leshy just shows up after running off wearing the green crown. no one knew there was a crown of chaos before. Narinder is delighted.

45 BW: the Murder of gods continues to happen, and fingers are being pointed. narinder is a prime suspect, but his family defend him

25 BW: as the murders mount, someone steps forward to claim responsibility: Lucifer, god of law. He announces that any god that does not bow down to him will be slaughtered in 25 years. Sides are chosen, friendships broken, but the family remains together, Shamura being determined not to get swept up in this mess.

0 BW: battle horns are blown, war rages across the world. Seasons stagnate, the sun and moon fight, and still war itself declines to intervene.

?? DW: Chamech is wounded, and loses their mind. no further crowns are made. the war rages on

?? DW: time is dead. the sun and moon, without their gods, slowly take their original places again. few gods remain, but now War and their siblings enter the fray.

0 AW: Even law falls to death eventually. Many gods have been lost, allies that the 5 may have had going forward would not survive the battle. as was foretold, as always was, as always shall be.

the god of dreams and their crown fade away into nothingness in deaths arms.

3 AW: the old faith is established. Narinder now has little time to himself. the most time he gets to spend with hypnos is when he goes to sort the massive backlog of souls in the afterlife: gods and mortals, all slain in the conflict, both sides having worthy and wretched souls amidst their ranks.

he is not bored. Hypnos is always there to help him, when a judgement is hard for one person to decide.

256 AW: narinder finally manages to sort away the last of the souls that have died within the last century.

278 AW: narinder is now bored. Cult leadership is not for him, He's better at doing paperwork than administrative work. at least then he can have Hypnos by his side.

narinder begins to consider necromancy.

312 AW: narinder has perfected the art of resurrection. He did not even need his siblings help. all he needed was Hypnos. but it was not enough to bring hypnos into the world, to keep them by his side. he needed to delve further.

334 AW: narinder has hit a roadblock in his experiments, and goes to his sibling shamura for aid. Shamura is horrified that he got this far, but doubly so when he asks for ways to grasp power even further from his purpose, especially for someone who might not exist. Shamura fears their brothers madness. Shamura admonishes him, and he swears to halt his experiments. Narinder swears to do just that, and keeps his word. But Shamura is already possessed by Envy.

335 AW: Shamura raises their fears with their siblings. Hecket and Leshy are disturbed by what their brother has done (mostly because shamura says its bad), but Kallamar is initially facinated by what his brother has achieved, and is pressured by the others into fearing him. Kallamar may have been startled by Narinder before, but he could never fear his brother. he did fear Shamura. he feared that THEY were the truly mad one

350 AW: Here godly blood was spilled. Here Death no longer wished to wait.

Narinder is sealed, unhealing wounds are given.

Hypnos, narinder, and Kallamar, shed tears. Rage, misery, and regret.

Envy seeps deeper into shamuras broken mind.

1167 AW: Aym and Baal are born, and then stolen to be given to narinder.

1320 AW: Lambert is taken as a heretic, because they are unresponsive and could not deliver any praise to shamura. they are selected by shamura for an experiment.

1321 AW: Shamura commits the greatest heresy, and creates Hypnosis body. the red crown is made dormant to soothe the pain of the existance and torture that Hypnos finds themselves in. Narinder does not know where hypnos has been taken to. The crown does not have the strength to show him. he only knows that they are in pain.

1368 AW: Lamberts younger twin siblings, Adam and Eve, Rescue Hypnos from the tower, not realizing that the heavily disfigured and extremely expressive Sheep that they saved was once their sibling. They think Lambert is dead, and for all intents, he is.

1368: Hypnos flees from his rescuers, desperately seeking someone who could help them. they run into Kallamar, who seeks to amend past mistakes and takes in the lamb to mend their broken body. Heket learns of the fate of the red crown, and goes to inform leshy while kallamar helps hypnos recover.

1369: after making a miraculous recovery, and somehow keeping the lambs existence in Kallamars castle a secret from shamura, he takes it upon himself to train the lamb in the art of combat. The lamb favors curses, as their limbs are sill fragile and the crown is still unresponsive, though its eye is now open.

1370: a plan is hatched. The lamb will go to slay the mad sibling, now obviously so after having lost the lamb. The other bishops will amend past mistakes, and shatter the chains that they guard while the lamb shatters the fourth.

1371: the plan is executed. everything goes perfectly; the chains are shattered, and shamura is put to rest.

then everything goes wrong. The purple crown, now fully controlled by envy, puppets shamuras body. It gathers devotion, and then releases a maddening pulse that corrupts all the other crowns.

Then, having been the one to create the web of energy that ties Hypnos's soul to Lamberts body, disconnects the two with one slice.

The corrupted red crown returns to the underworld, and pride swiftly consumes the lord of death.

Hypnos would fall here, but a crown calls out to them, from a familiar realm that resembled the state that they had lived in for so long.

The crown of dreams rests heavy on their head.

"Edgy" pokemon fangames are better than the real ones

Pokemon Uranium is one of the best games I have ever played. It has unique fakemon designs, an amazing story, and one that would not be possible if it was a real, mainline game. Alongside all of that, it also has a they/them option when you create your character. This has given me immense gender euphoria. You know what a mainline game's given me? DYSPHORIA. (In Ultra Sun/Moon, when you talk to Lana's younger sisters, if you chose "girl" as your gender, they will call you "Miss Trainer Lady.") It also uses tools to break roadblocks instead of HMs or ride pokemon. To top it all off, the music is amazing.

Pokemon Reborn, while something I did not sign up for, turned out to be a wonderful psychological horror experience. I'm only at the ghost gym- the third or fourth leader you fight, I believe. You could not get anything like that in a real game. Without spoiling too much, you see someone commit suicide (and then someone call that guy weak ((literally everyone hates the mean one.))) and also see someone get forcibly institutionalized and tortured with electro-shock therapy.

Alongside that is Pokemon Ashen Frost, which I'm putting up here for the soundtrack ALONE. It's amazing and I love it. It's better than sword and shield's music.

Remus closes the door of the room Sirius is staying in at the Three Broomsticks. "Sirius? I’m here! I brought you some of that tea you really like." 

“Moony! You’re back!”

The sight of Sirius is like the first glow of Lumos in the shadows. He’s sat by the dining table doing the crossword but Remus can almost see Padfoot’s tail wagging excitedly. “Hey,” he greets back, planting a kiss on Sirius’ hair. He’s about to sit on the other chair when he finds something occupying it. A long parcel upright. “You bought a broom?”

“Not for me,” Sirius says, precisely reading Remus’ mind, “for Harry. I meant it when I said I’m never looking back now that I have my beloved—”

“Bipedal death machine. Right.” Sirius rolls his eyes at this. “But, Harry’s birthday has already passed, and Christmas is two months away.”

“So?”

Remus chuckles at his own oversight of how regularly Sirius buys presents. Then he remembers, “Didn’t you just buy him one?”

At least Sirius looks sheepish now. “Well, yeah, but this one is their latest model. It’s the fastest one, Moons! The Firebolt. There's no way I’ll let my godson miss out on being the first to own one of these. I doubt that Malfoy kid has it. His father’s too busy kissing ass to be aware of these releases–”

Firstly, Remus has almost no interest in Quidditch outside of Sirius and James and now, Harry. Second, this ramble about the Malfoys has gone on for too long. Remus surges forward to interrupt Sirius with a kiss, the only effective way to shut him up. “I’m sure he’ll love it. Now, tea?”

It was a night, and the stars were the only light illuminating the road.

You were driving home after a long mission; you thought you were going to sleep for many hours until your car started making strange noises and came to a complete stop. You tried to start it several times but to no avail. You were alone on a deserted road, with no cell phone signal and no one to help you.

You tried to use the intercom, but it didn't work either. You decided to get out of the car and wait for a vehicle to pass by that could help you.

You were starting to get desperate when you heard the sound of a motor approaching.

The motorist stopped next to you, and as he took off his helmet, you recognized Brock.

“Do you need help? “he asked.

“Yes, my car broke down, and I have no signal to call anyone," you replied.

“I heard your message over the intercom."

Brock examined your car quickly and then looked at you again.

“I can't fix it here, but I can take you somewhere safe.“ He held out an extra helmet that he had with him.

You got on the bike; it was the first time you had been so close to him, but you trusted him.

After a short ride, they arrived at a safe place. Brock turned off the bike, and you both got off. You sat on the grass, looking at the starry sky, and he sat next to you, silent for a moment.

“Thank you for saving me," you said, breaking the silence.

“Welcome," he replied and leaned down to kiss you.

DCMK Blu-rays

A list of Detective Conan and Magic Kaito content with physical HD releases.

This won't be comprehensive by any means; I'm going to be focusing on Japanese, German, and United States releases because these are the ones that I own and am most familiar with. I believe that many of the films are also available on Blu-ray in several countries, dubbed in several languages, but I don't have much concrete knowledge about that at this moment. Please feel free to add any information!

That said, the main thing to know about Detective Conan Blu-rays is that... they kind of don't really exist. The television series is (mainly, more on this later) released on DVD only in Japan, usually with the equivalent of four episodes per disc, sold at 4,620 yen each. They're grouped in "Parts," with up to 10 Volumes per Part, and the next release, on June 23rd, will be Part 31, Volume 3, containing episodes 1007, 1008, 1010, and 1013.

A handful of episodes are released on Blu-ray via collections in Japan; there are the Treasured Selections and Akai Family TV Selections. But with a series running over 1,000 episodes, it really is just a handful of episodes available in these collections.

With the Treasured Selections, you can get 67 episodes on Blu-ray:

Beyond these, the TV-original specials Episodes 804-805 ("Conan and Ebizo's Kabuki Juhachiban Mystery") and Episodes 965-968 ("Kaiju Gomera VS Kamen Yaiba"), plus the canon Episodes 927-928 ("The Scarlet School Trip"), are also available on Blu-ray.

Finally, special edition Blu-rays for Movies 17-25 include a second disc containing the movie's tie-in anime episode... but that second disc is likely a DVD, speaking as someone who doesn't own any of these but does own the Japanese special edition Blu-rays for Movies 14 through 16, where the second discs are, indeed, DVDs.

German Blu-rays

Outside of Japan, Germany is currently releasing boxed sets of the Detective Conan series starting from Episode 1. At this time, these are the only physical releases of the remastered footage (which make a big difference), and they include Japanese and German audio (but any German-dubbed songs are omitted). Three boxes are available now, covering Episodes 1 to 96 (or 102 with the international numbering); a fourth box is set to be released on May 19th, covering up until Episode 122 (or 129 with the international numbering).

Do note that these releases edit the name boxes in a way that can't be turned off, however.

Films, Specials, and Magic Kaito

In Germany, all of the same content is available on Blu-ray. There's also a Blu-ray release for The Scarlet Alibi, and I believe that they're the only ones with a physical HD release of Gosho Aoyama's Collection of Short Stories as well.

Episode One: The Great Detective Turned Small

As far as I'm aware, there are no HD releases anywhere of the OVAs. They're available on DVD in Japan, either separately or via four "Secret File" compilations (though these only cover OVAs 1-9).

There also aren't any HD releases of the Magic/Bonus files, but DVDs are included with the Japanese special edition versions of Movies 12-16. They're also available for individual purchase in Japan as well.

TV Specials 1, 2, and 4 (with 3 being the Lupin special, 5 being The Disappearance of Conan Edogawa, and 6 being Episode One) seem to be DVD only, too. Actually, I'm not sure if TV Special 1,"Time Travel of the Silver Sky," is available on disc at all? But TV Special 2, "Black History," is said to be included with the Japanese special edition DVD of the second live-action drama special, and TV Special 4, "Fugitive: Kogoro Mori," is included on the Part 24, Volume 7 DVD.

TV Special 7, "Love Story at Police Headquarters ~Wedding Eve~," might be included on Blu-ray in Japan with the special edition of Movie 25, but I can't confirm if that disc is a Blu-ray or DVD right now (and the same goes for The Scarlet Alibi, included with the special edition of Movie 24 in Japan).

The eight VHS-only Shogakukan Illustrated Encyclopedia Series tapes are obviously not available in HD, either.

Tl;dr?

So, in short, combining releases and eliminating the not-remastered Treasured Selections, you can find 186 episodes on Blu-ray right now (with more on the way with the fourth Detektiv Conan box). You can also get all of the films and Magic Kaito series, plus a few specials, in HD.

And I think that's all I've got! Feel free to add more information if you know any! I am desperate to physically own more HD DCMK content.

EDIT: I've done some more digging, and from what I can tell, starting with Movie 24, the Japanese special edition Blu-rays for the films changed the bonus second disc from a DVD to a Blu-ray instead. This means that Episode 1,002, "The Beika City Shopping Center Garbage Bin Mystery," included with the special edition of Movie 24, as well as Episode 1,039, "The Flying Jack-o'-lantern," included with the special edition of Movie 25, are available on Blu-ray, too. So, a more accurate number of episodes that have been released on Blu-ray (in HD) at this time is actually 188. Further, this confirms that The Scarlet Alibi and TV Special 7 are also available on Blu-ray in Japan.

Additionally, though I have provided a couple of links throughout this post, the Detective Conan World wiki deserves a bigger shout out than I initially gave; their "Collectibles" page, and particularly their "Japanese Blu-ray" article, were a huge help in compiling the information laid out here. Many, many thanks to the contributors.

And while I'm here, for those interested in English-language releases specifically, Magic's Detective Agency is a fantastically detailed resource for every DVD released by FUNimation (Volumes, Season Sets, and Films). They're not HD releases, true, but at the time, they're the only physical releases of any episodes and the first six films in English.

Finally, I also discovered that a fifth Detektiv Conan box is set to be released on July 21st! This should mean that remastered episodes up until 145 (or 155 with the international numbering) will be available on Blu-ray, and it bodes well for these releases to continue. Hopefully, there will be physical releases of the remastered footage in other countries, too!

(tastes like) the real thing

278 days. 

It takes that long for Sirius to really sink in the fact that he's going to rot in an Azkaban cell for the rest of his life. That Remus tonight is experiencing another full moon alone, when Sirius promised that he'd always be there with him. And Harry, little Harry, is without Lily and James, without any Uncles to spoil him. 

Sirius doubts that Dumbledore or Petunia would let Remus see or visit Harry since he's residing with the muggle family. But he's sure Harry's safe and happy. And knowing Remus-Merlin knows he's holed up somewhere blaming himself somehow. The man never did anything wrong, it's Sirius who made the stupid fucking mistake of trusting the wrong bloody person. He hopes badly that Remus will move on in any way, but at the same time selfishly wants Remus to gain even a feeling that Sirius is innocent. He can't possibly mentally ask that of him, not when Sirius didn't lend him that same courtesy when it mattered.

Through the tiny window of bars in his cell, Sirius can see the moon very clearly, the full as bright and beautiful as ever. He looks down, eyes feeling tired and weary in the constant darkness, and traces the tattoo in his wrist. The butterfly runic symbol-Dagaz. Awakening. He remembers sitting in the tattoo chair, James and Remus absent. James-off with Lily on their hogsmeade date, and Remus-declining to join in favour of finishing a book he was reading and brushing up on his studying. So, Peter was the only one there. 

At the time, Sirius didn't mind, and was even elated to spend some time with Peter alone. While waiting for the tattoo artist to return from the front desk, the duo chatted. Normally, Sirius towered over Peter, being the tallest of the Marauders at 6’0 during the ripe age of seventeen-but with laying back on the reclined seat and Peter sitting in the chair next to him, they were eye to eye.  

Peter's eyes were a blended, melted mix of a specific shade of green with a hue of blue. Sirius remembers them devoid of the honesty he thought he knew Peter always possessed when he cut his finger off and sparked the blast that killed all those people. In a way, he killed Sirius too that night. 

“Excited?” Peter squeaked out, a sound he sometimes made when unaware of the noise he was making. “Scared?” He then teased, resting his head on his propped up hand.

“Fuck off, Wormy,” Sirius laughed, anticipation drumming in his bones. It was his third tattoo since turning the legal age. “It's like a light pinch or scratching an itch. I'm already used to the feeling.” 

Peter blew a raspberry. “I couldn't do it, I'm scared it'll hurt too much, and it's permanent.” 

Sirius winked and grinned. “That's the fun part.” The smile stayed on his face when Peter blushed and looked away. 

“If you weren't already dead, Peter,” Sirius murmured to himself as he dug a nail into the tattoo that brought up tainted memories, “I'd fucking strangle you. I would do worse than any other Death Eater would've done to you.”

This-a sort of hunger. A rage fueled by grief and ignited by hatred. The food in Azkaban could be equated to inedible slop, food that they hand out once a day. It's not enough-never enough to keep Sirius from starving. Not just to eat, but to feed and satisfy the need between his teeth. The urge to bite. 

Maybe it's the animal in him, or just what he wants. 

Scattering noises come from the side of Sirius where he's sitting on the dirty, hard floor. He glances at the small moving figure with a stoic indifference (used to critters crawling about by now)  until he focuses his eyes and sees it for what it is. 

It's almost uncanny, the way Sirius tenses up immediately and his eyes glaze over-predator smelling prey. The dog craving to devour the rat. 

It's mad-what Sirius is about to do-but once the thought passes through his mind he barks out laughs, running himself ragged. He clutches his stomach at the notion-mad!  Barely a year into Azkaban and he's already tipping off sanity. Turning into Padfoot most of the time didn't even help. Oh god, Sirius thinks to himself miserably, I'm going mad.

But that doesn't stop him from transforming into Padfoot and stalking the rat as it chews on something in the corner-a broken piece of meat, Sirius smells. 

A heavy coat releases from him being the dog, makes things simpler, easier to digest. 

Certainly better when clamping his jaws around the rat’s small and fragile body. Applying pressure until liquid that tastes like a sweet metal fills his fangs, until the squirming ends and high-pitched squeaking stops. 

For a drawn out moment, as Padfoot chews and chews, it tastes like he imagined Peter would. 

Regrettably, a few times he had thought of taking Peter's lips in his and biting down to see him bleed, just to kiss him. Just to know what it was like. 

But that was then, and this is now. 

And when Padfoot turns back to Sirius, leaning back against the rusty brick wall, he spits out the remaining bones and pieces of the tail left. 

Tomorrow, and the one after that, Sirius will mark another day on the wall, the years passing him by like centuries, and those-like a millennia.
