HIGHLIGHTS OF ASTRO’S DC EVENT

So just figured i’d contribute to give mentions of some of the Iconic™ moments:

During the interview when MJ said Sanha was originally the girl in the MV

I was front row on Rocky’s side and he was SO INTERACTIVE??? He tongue clicked at me, gave me a heart, winked, smiled, etc etc

During the game they split into hyung vs maknae’s and they the crowd hyped up their team by cheering ‘hyung team’ and ‘maknae team’

When i cheered maknae team Sanha smiled at me and i got a thumbs up from Rocky

SANHA BOOED THE HYUNG TEAM HEJKTHJKEHGSDJKH

each team had to do 40 push-ups divided between team members and Sanha literally did just one pushup (then did all 40)

each team did all 40 for their team dang what show-offs

they played “what’s in the box” and the hyung team got egg and jinjin’s face reacting to the egg was priceless

mj was so mj with the game i cant even--

they told the maknae team their object (monzerella cheese) was MOVING

During the P1 photo i sat with Rocky and after i stood I held my hand out for Sanha to shake and he shook it very confusedly and i had to keep the line moving so i didn’t get to see Moonbin JinJin or MJ but it was a sacrifice i had to make

Literally got to interact with everyone minus Moonbin but that boy was in the z o n e

When I stared at Rocky before the photo and he said to me “sit, sit!” while pointing to the chair

during one game they drew green and red papers for teams and the security guard GAVE ME THE PAPER ROCKY HAD and said “i figured it’d mean something to you”

that piece of paper was probably touched by every member because Rocky was last to draw his paper and therefore it is now my most PRIZED POSSESSION

Homemade recipe by @pri_patil02 Ingredients: Tomatoes- 7 Cloves- 8 Dried kashmiri mirc- 6 Onions- 4 Capsicum- 3 Pizza base- 4 Monzerella cheese Processed cheese Chat masala Salt Black pepper Oreagno Chilli flakes To prepare pizza sauce: Make puree of 4 tomatoes Finely chopped cloves and onion 1 onion Soaked kashmiri dried mirchi for 2 hrs Salt 1 table spoon Oregano Process: Take a pan, add 2 tablespoon oil once pan is hot add finely chopped onion and cloves add 1 table spoon salt. Once onion turn pink add tomato puree Fry for 2-3 min add soaked chillies to it and cook for 5min. Grind all paste again add again 1 tablespoon of oil and fry the paste add oregano and stir for 30sec and store in container once cooled. You can store this sauce for a week. Pizza making: Take a pizza base brush it with butter. Spread pizza sauce add all mixed chopped onion, tomatoes and capsicum add chat masala, black peper, salt to the filling add both cheese processed and mozzarella cheese over it. Heat a pan spread little butter place the filled pizza on pan cover it with lid and bake for few min. Cut the Pizza with knife as piece required and its ready to serve . . . Today's Topic Is Allergy Friendly Yummy Cheese Alternatives: All of the cheeses I posted we have tested. I was especially impressed with the follow your heart American style sliced cheese I thought it tasted a bit better than the traditional American style cheese. The Daiya cheezy mac mentioned is allergy friendly all the way around. The noodles used are gluten free and the cheese sauce is dairy free. It's also kid approved.😋😋💜💜Finding good cheese alternatives was super important for us. I like to whip up grilled cheese sandwiches which will be in my next post along with the allergy friendly bread I use. I will also be showing you guys what yummy meals I make with the daiya pasta, and last how I utilize the shredded cheeses. They are good, but oddly enough a lot of them to me, have an american cheese flavour instead of a monzerella, which is still well for the recipies in which they are used in, most importantly besides taste they mealt nicely. A short account of the beautiful encounters I had during my trip below!

First, I had the enormous pleasure of meeting with the lovely @pangur-pangur!!! And I can confirm that, as everyone on tumblr already knows, she’s also the nicest, cutest, most lovely person in real life. I lucked out, and we got to spend the entire day together, and I consider that day one of the finest of my entire trip! 

Thank you for accompanying me, pangur! We chatted, ate out, etc, etc. She’s so amazing, I could have one entire week with her, that I would still want to spend more time! ;w; ♥

On the next evening, I had the enormous pleasure to eat out with 6 lovely Japanese fans, @robinshideout, @its-a-mountain, @ddigibb, @iwaeur, guramu, and @xxchaddxx!!! 

We had a blast, especially because Robin-san so graciously helped me with the translations, so thank you very much again ;o; Robin is a wonderful, beautiful cosplayer, and you should all check their work out here! 

Thank you for putting up with my blabbing, as well x3 I loved chatting with you!

Anyway, besides treating me to very yummy food, the fanartists gifted me gorgeous, heart-warming things that I took pictures of. I gave them snacks from my country, and I never expected to actually receive so many unique gifts from them, so I hope you’ll all bear with my gushing, because I want to show them off! They deserve all the attention, and I’m really lucky to own these:

From @its-a-mountain, who wrote me a lovely letter, gave me delicious gummy candy, and made these adorable fabric Thorin and Bilbo!!!

Just look at them!!!! ;~; I’m afraid of using them on my bag or phone because they might fall out, since they’re so adorable and unique! So I hung them on my wall 💕

I want to especially thank Yamada-san since it was through them that I managed to meet so many other artists! They set up a date for us to meet, and took time from their schedule to do so, and I’m eternally grateful!! It was a night to remember! ♥

Next, gifts from the lovely, talented @ddigibb!

I didn’t know they had worked on a comic! I was so happy to receive one, and it was absolutely adorable. I hope you make more of them! I’d love to buy, and read them!!

And yes, they MADE me a hobbit-themed ring. It’s adorable, very well-crafted, and so thoughtful! I even commented that I felt it was my wedding ring to fandom, lol ⭐

From @iwaeur, I got so many comics, and a lovely print! It was such a big surprise, they even translated the pages for me, which was absurdly thoughtful and useful! (and a little sad, the story was so bittersweet ;o;)

They even gave me a copy of a really funny old-style shoujo manga they made of Thorin and Bilbo, it was so great! I was truly spoiled by them ✨✨

I never spoke to Guramu-san, so it was an absolute surprise that they had made me gifts, as well! I was so humbled by it!

They gave me a copy of their comic! It’s incredibly beautiful, their style is absolutely unique, and a little bit eerie, which I actually really appreciate. I hadn’t expected, also, to tear up with the story! It was amazing, thank you for giving me the opportunity to read it. 😭😭

And, you guessed it, they MADE this really interesting and adorable sleeping Bilbo sculpture with biscuit clay, and it did get a little shaken up on the way back home, but it survived! I’ll have to groom the plants a little bit better later, but it’s just amazing how talented they are, and how generous, too!

Next, I was giving a hand-made card by @xxchaddxx!!!!

It’s a pop-up card made with original printed drawings by them, and I nearly cried when I opened it ;_; it was a stab to the heart, and I love it so so much! I’ve always admired their painting, and craftsmanship, so this was an absolute treat. 😭

Also, we had some time to grab a cup of coffee after dinner, so we exchanged a few drawings, and Chadd gave me their first fem!bagginshield drawing ;O; !!!! LOOK AT IT!!!

After that, I met up with @monzerella, who showed me to a Japanese karaoke outing, which was absolutely delightful, and we chatted the entire evening! I couldn’t believe I was meeting such an old fandom friend for the first time, after like 5 years we had promised we’d meet! It was a dream come true, and I was so glad to share thoughts with you 😭 I hope next time we'll spend even more time together!!! You’re gorgeous, and ilu!!

I also met with our own @irrealis !!!! It was great, she treated me to dinner, we salted, chatted, ate cake! I loved it! Thank you so much for the fun evening, I had a wonderful time!! Your work seems super fun, and I was super entertained by you talking about it, so I wish you the best 😁♥

I sort of wanted to draw everyone I met, but since most are shy artists just like me, I thought better of it! Trust me when I say that they were all beautiful and interesting people, and it was a great experience for me to link their internet existences to a real, biological one!

I was the luckiest doge that could ever be, and I’m so glad I could meet everyone on top of having a great holiday. Thanks to everyone who spent time with me, and invested time into making it possible! You’re all the best, and you made me incredibly happy!!! 🌟🌟🌟

Aunt Shelia’s Baked Mac and Cheese 

My Great auntie’s famous baked Mac and cheese is a family favorite. This is a dish we all look forward to on special holidays.  I feel that what makes this dish even more special is the fact that we only have the chance to eat this meal twice a year. Which is usually on Christmas and thanksgiving! 

This is due to the fact that my family is spread out across the country, in states such as Texas, North Carolina, Utah, Tennessee , and Georgia. So when we all gather together for Christmas and thanksgiving dinner it is a time to rejoice and eat!

I have decided to include this dish because this is one of my favorite meal to eat! Over the years, I have learned to create my quick on the go version of baked Mac n cheese which includes, noodles and shredded cheese, but it has absoutely nothing compared to my Aunt’s famous baked Mac and cheese.

My Aunt Shelia is always full of joy and positive energy. I love hearing hearing my Great Aunt stories, while we’d prepare the Mac and cheese for our family dinner. She’d tell us the many stories of her and my grandmother and the trial and tribulations they have faced growing up in the 1950′s with 8 other siblings. Her story motivates me to be strong and reminds me that I can do anything if I Try!

Her delicious baked Mac and cheese is cooked to perfection with 3 types of cheeses, whipping cream and milk ,lots of garlic and love! This scrumptious recipe creates a cheesy and moist meal that you can not get enough of.

Ingredients

(2) 16 oz elbow macaroni,

1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

6 tbsp unsalted butter

1/3 cup all purpose flour

3 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy whipping cream

4 cups sharp cheddar cheese

2 cups Monzerella cheese

salt and pepper to taste

1/4 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)

Recipe 

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350F. Combine shredded cheeses in a large bowl and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the pasta, drain, and then place in a large bowl.

Step 3: Drizzle pasta with olive oil and stir to coat pasta. Set aside to cool while preparing cheese sauce.

Step 4: Melt butter 2 sticks of butter in saucepan and Whisk in flour over medium heat and continue whisking for about 1 minute until bubbly and golden.

Step 5:  Next carefully whisk in the milk and heavy cream until nice and smooth and then add in your salt and pepper.

Step 6: Add in your all of your Cheese and mix together thoroughly and then stir in the cooled pasta until combined and pasta is fully coated with the cheese sauce.

Step 7: Pour half of the mac and cheese into the prepared baking dish. 

Step 8: Lastly, In a small bowl, c Parmesan cheese, melted butter and paprika. Sprinkle over the top and bake until bubbly and golden brown, about 30 minutes. Then you are ready to eat!
