Rabbit of Caerbannog
by Hope Doe Sumi and Watercolor on Arches watercolor paper
The killer rabbit sleeps with the bones of it’s victims. Though it is tasked to protect the cave, it relishes in each and every kill in it’s fluffy cute nature.
Recently watched Monty Python’s Holy Grail and couldn’t help myself.
Done for the Month of Fear Challenge, ‘Monsters Unseen’

Much quieter than the work-heavy InkTober challenge, possibly because of the longer time allotted to work on the individual subjects, was the Month of Fear art challenge hosted by Kristina Carroll. The themes this year were "Monsters", with the suffixes Above, Below, Within, Without, and Unseen. My entries were part digital, part traditional (I wish I had managed all of them to be traditional, but there are only so many hours in the day, and drying times are murder).

Month of Fear 2019 - Monsters Above
Don't turn around. Don't blink. Don't look down. Don't go in alone. Don't move. You did anyway? Don't say you weren't warned.
For this last piece for Month of Fear 2019, I used another square canvas board, and antique effect texture paste for the eyes. I need more experience lighting my paintings for better reproductions... I used acrylics for the background (brushing, knifing, and raking it), glossy ink for the monster, and that paste for the eyes. The figure is painted on a piece of watercolour paper I glued on with vinyl glue, because I find it very hard to paint fine detail on canvas at this small size. It's my second Month of Fear.
