okay fine. Nimona movie is fun. the book still has an unshakable place in my heart and that needs to be the absolute canon but i think this would have felt really good & timely to see as a closeted child & its, like, fun and overtly gay & the trans allegory is good for the target audience

thank you everyone who likes my medieval utena drawing (someone called it monkpunk and reminded them of nimona and yes!!! love that!!). unluckily i am not getting better at the digital thing but i am still on that medieval-ish rgu shit and i honestly don't know how to get it out of my system I'm actually creating a whole thing in my head like a madwoman it won't go away!!!!

every day i am thinking about the phrase monkpunk. no i haven't seen nimona yet but i've seen it by tumblr proxy and oh when i do its going to shatter me. proper use of the suffix -punk. assonance. monk. punk.

Fred Segal has opened an exclusive pop-up with Balt Getty to mark the launch of MONKPUNK, Getty’s unisex lifestyle brand, at the retailer. Exclusively at the retailer’s Malibu location, shoppers will be able to take a trip down memory lane in an immersive pop-up experience paying homage to Getty’s history and the genesis of MONKPUNK.

Running from November 1-30, the pop-up will feature an assortment of Getty’s original art pieces such as, “Balt Getty Bandana American Flag,” “Balt Getty Cash,” “Balt Getty Bills.” In addition to experiencing the pop-up, the MONKPUNK fall collection will be available for purchase, which features sweatsuits, shorts, pants, tees, hoodies, and an exclusive Getty tee and army jacket.

The Getty tee is exclusively available at Fred Segal with proceeds from the tee sales being donated to GiveLove. A very limited quantity of the Chrome Hearts x Balt Getty collaboration will also be available, while supplies last.

“We’ve admired Balt’s illustrations and art for years and the limited time walk down memory lane pop up will be a unique experience for people of all ages,” shared Max Feldmann of Fred Segal. “Fred Segal and MONPUNK have an organic synergy, both L.A.-born, so partnering seemed like a no brainer.
