to me, "dirkjake being dirkjake" isn't violence, or discord, or even just simply hurt feelings. Instead, at its core is their inability to communicate, their individual issues mounting into a rock neither of them know how to summit, and would rather loiter in its shade.

if we carry on the mountain metaphor (sorry i listened to a video about K2 while drawing this) the alpha void session is like the blistering, oppressive midday sun forcing them into the shade. I think when it sets, when they reach Earth C the distance and decompression can allow them more chance to try and clear this obstacle. As they exist in canon though, I feel like the most significant part of their relationship is that they Dont Talk.

This is a pretty pessimistic take on ur prompt haha, but it's the first thing that came to mind. I promise I'll draw them happier soon

After reading your response about the epic forging of the one ring, it turns out I would love a painstaking, real time, first person pov forging of the One Ring in S3 because I am a massive nerd and that actually sounds really interesting especially with Sauron narration of his whole process and being overly dramatic.

Sorry, the monkey's paw only knows how to make things worse. :( The 106-hour episode is now shot on a GoPro attached to a wobbly elastic band around Sauron's forehead, and sometimes he sighs and looks up at inopportune moments, meaning whatever he's working on is out of frame. He does not narrate the process, but he DOES occasionally mumble-sing a few repetitive lines to a song you don't know. The battery also dies at least twice and the screen goes black for five minutes while Sauron digs for his backup camera. His hands frequently obscure the details of his work. Is it because this is his first time making a crafting video, or because he wants to hide exactly what he's doing and preserve his secrets? Impossible to say.

It is the opposite of a satisfying video.
