Shadowpeach Bio Dads Au: *exists* The fandom: ----- I'm sorry but I just *had* to redraw this frame and add a slight headcanon that Wukong was blushing. Why? 1. because people tend to blush when they cry, 2. I think he'd be slightly embarrassed by his reaction and 3. he and Mac look adorable when they're blushing so I'm gonna put it *everywhere* Sorry if this looks rushed but I really wanted to finish before the next part drops! You have me in a chokehold and I successfully managed to convince my friend to read your comic so now we'll be screeching over this part when we meet on Monday :D Pls never stop cookin, the fandom needs you 🙏🙏🙏

Life's a Sick Joke pt 16
Would like to start from the beginning? Here is Part 1!
Pairing: Mick Mars x Reader
A/N: Good morning/night/afternoon, you beautiful creatures! I know this story hasn't been really active recently but here you go the next chapter. There isn't much action in it, although it contains emotions and deep conversations. I hope you will like it. Stay safe, drink water and listen to music louder than hell!

16. Being There For You
After you got Mick from jail, which was pretty hilarious regarding that he never did anything to be in there, not even this time. He was at the wrong place, at the wrong time. He was still angry with you for not helping him immediately, but you let him fume a bit.
You were concentrated on something else. It was finally the day your brother would be out so you intended to get him, too. You seriously were tired of getting everyone out of jail. You were driving the car, staring at the road, your fingers drumming on the wheel along the music; Accept's Balls to the Wall was on and you couldn't help but silently sing along.
"I'm glad you have the energy to sing, but I couldn't sleep last night since someone let me rot in a fucking cell!" Mick snapped and you turned the music down. You took a long breath not to say anything you would regret.
"Mick, you only spent 6 hours there. You could've slept while waiting you know. And don't be angry with me, I wasn't the one who got you there." You arched a brow still not believing he was mad at you instead of Tommy.
"Speaking of, I can't wait to slap drummer. With a chair." He barked looking out the window. "And I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so harsh on you, I'm just grumpier than usual for not sleeping."
"It's okay, I understand." You were smirking at him. He placed his hand on your right hand which you rested on the gear shift. "But you have to wait with your revenge until next Monday. You know we have the whole week off."
"Finally. We can be alone for a bit. Without anyone harassing us." He stated, closing his eyes and leaning back his head. You bit your lip down fearing his reaction to what you were about to say.
"Umm...but I hope it's okay if Dylan will be around for a bit. Or I can go back to our old apartment and let you rest at your house. I would like to spend some time with Dylan before we hit the road again." You turned in the next corner after looking in both directions. It felt like ages until Mick said something.
"Babe, it's totally okay. Your brother needs you. And he won't bother me unless he runs in the hallway screaming and almost naked smashing everything in sight." You chuckled knowing exactly whom he was talking about. Luckily, Dylan has never acted like that. Alright, maybe a few months ago but that wasn't the true him. Sharon exclaimed that he was improving and was on a good path. You had every reason to believe her so you weren't so worried about being with him in one room again. On the other hand, you were thinking of how jail time might break him. He was always so strong, although terrible things happen to people in jail who spend months in.
"I'm sure he won't cause any harm. So you truly don't have any excuse to have him in your house for the week?" You asked him cautiously for reassurance. To be honest, you were the scared one. You were scared as hell since you have never been to his home. You got together during the camping you brought them on and since then you weren't home or nearby even. The tour and then the hospital, the travel to your sister.
"(Y/N), there are a few guest rooms so he can crash at my place if he wants to. Or if you think environment change is the last thing he needs right now, we can bring back him to your shared apartment." He said warming your heart how kind he was with you, with your family. How much he cared for your well-being. Your eyes welled up and you got rid of the tears by wiping them away with the top of your hand. "(Y/N), what is it?" He stiffened thinking through what he has just said. "Did I say something?"
"Yes. But nothing bad, don't worry." He relaxed a bit but still couldn't understand why you were crying. "It's just, in my whole life I only got hatred, stating with our parents. I always I was just giving and giving until nothing remained for me. I started to drain out from goodness but kept going as Isabelle and Dylan needed me. It's not that I don't love them or they don't deserve it. I didn't have anyone I could rely on, or just have a nice decent talk about what is bothering me. And after meeting you, I thought I hit jackpot. And still, you keep amazing me with your kindness, selflessness, and your big heart." You exhaled when you finished your monologue making Mick speechless again. In the meantime, you parked the car in the prison's parking lot and stopped the car. Your hands rested in your lap playing with the key. Mick got out of the car and closed the door after himself before leaning on the car with his back. You were truly afraid. You hesitated at first but then got out of the car and walked next to him, leaning on the car. You didn't say a word. About Mick, he was fighting back tears, his chest rose and fell rapidly and you couldn't help but notice his jaws were tightened.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not being there for you." He begun, finally breaking the silence. Although, what he said made your brows knitted.
"Mick, we hadn't met, you wouldn't have been able to do much about it." You leaned your head on his shoulder making him calm.
"I know, but it's so unfair. You deserve the world, (Y/N). And if someone dares to tell me otherwise I will beat the shit out of them. And may your parents rot in hell, what they did to you is unforgivable. And I'm admiring you, (Y/N), for being able to smile and keep making everyone happy after all those horrible things happened to you. You are a survivor and I have fallen in love with you madly, deeply, and undeniably." You looked up at him, feeling lost in his blue eyes. You cracked a smile and hugged him tightly, filling your lungs with his scent. He pressed a soft kiss on your forehead, his arms resting on your waist pulling you closer.
"I love you, too, Mick. With every cell of my body." You whispered. You didn't know how quickly you found each other. You completed each other, you were partners, not just lovers. You were soulmates. A loud screeching noise broke the moment making both of you look towards the source of the sound. It was the huge rusty gates opening. Your heart was hammering and you were grabbing Mick's hand strongly.
"Hey, easy, Tiger." He whispered in your ear making you loosen your grip. At first, you only saw guards but then you noticed your brother in the distance. You were grinning and couldn't believe he was finally free after months. When the guards went back inside and the gates were closed Dylan looked in your way and dropped his bag on the ground. You let go of Mick and started running towards him. When you two met you jumped on him almost making him fell.
"Hey, (Y/N)." He greeted and spun you around as you were still hanging on him like a monkey.
"Hey." You could only say this. You were so happy to have him in your arms again. The real Dylan. Not the one who hurt you or left you alone. This was the Dylan you knew in your whole life. The caring, the funny, the goofy.
"I would love to carry you like this all the way home but it's either that you eat too much recently or I am out of shape." You chuckled letting him go. You were on your feet again when Mick approached you and you saw Dylan bow his head from embarrassment and guilt.
"Hello, Dylan." He said casually. No emotions, just words.
"Hi, Mick." He muttered still not looking in his eyes. He balled his fists then loosened them again by his side. He was still battling. It broke your heart seeing him like this. "I would like to apologize. For all the things I have said and done. For acting crazy and almost hitting you in the face. I wasn't myself. And I would like to thank you for taking care of (Y/N) when I couldn't. It means a lot to me." He offered his hand to Mick as an apology. Mick glanced at you and after you nodded he shook Dylan's hand.
"Apology accepted." He gave a half-smile and winked. He knew it wasn't Dylan's fault, well, mostly. He inherited anger issues from your parents, but he should've asked for help. "So, are you hungry?"
"Hell yes. The food was horrible in there." He complained, dropping his bag on his shoulder lazily. "Sadly, they didn't serve (Y/N)'s famous spaghetti Bolognese. You could say, I'm craving that."
"I didn't know a chef lives inside you." Mick laughed arching a brow.
"I haven't had the chance to show it." You crossed your arms in front of your chest like a shield.
"Then it's high time. So, Dylan, it's your decision. Where would you like to go?" Mick asked. Dylan's eyes googled from the shock but then went back to normal.
"I'm sure your kitchen is much bigger than ours. Right, (Y/N)?" You burst into laughter from that statement because you knew damn well how small that kitchen was and barely one person could fit there, not even three.
"Then, it's settled then."
"Woah, you didn't mention you live in a fucking castle." You admired the beautiful house which was settled in a forest far away from any human. It was definitely something Mick appreciated.
"It's not much. But come inside." You got your bags from the back where Dylan stood.
"Are you nervous?" He asked noticing you were biting your lip and struggling to breathe properly. And the son of a bitch was smirking. Righ in your face.
"Fuck you, Dylan." He just laughed and took the bag from your hand. Mick has already opened the door and was waiting for you.
"My lady." He gestured with his hands, letting you go first. When you stepped into the house your eyebrows were nearly invisible. When you thought about Mick and his personality you were sure he lived in a dark castle, like vampires or just a dirty apartment. You expected everything but not this. The living room was bigger than your apartment, it was light and neat. There were two huge black leather sofas in front of the fireplace with a glass table between them. The walls were white and pure.
"Like it?" Mick asked smirking and wandering his eyes in the room.
"It's freaking beautiful." You stated.
"Bloody hell, this is awesome." Dylan had almost the same reaction as you.
"This way." Mick said, you and Dylan followed him. "So this is the kitchen, I know it's not much but I hope it is big enough. And the bedrooms are upstairs.
"(Y/N), don't droll. So nasty." Dylan joked earning a scoff from you. You had to admit, this was the most fascinating kitchen you have ever seen. You quickly wiped your mouth but there was nothing.
"You are nasty!" You elbowed him in the stomach when Mick didn't pay attention earning a groan from Dylan.
"You haven't changed a bit." He murmured, trying to keep up with you.
"So, Dylan, your room will be at the end on the right. You will find towels in the wardrobe, too." He noted.
"Thanks, man. I think I will go, I don't want to bother." He winked and headed to the room but before he entered he winked and gave you a thumb up.
"Sometimes, I feel the urge just to choke him. Just a little bit." You said. Mick chuckled and took your hand into his. Butterflies in your stomach kept reminding you that you were in his house and apart from Dylan, only the two of you were there. No Nikki, no Tommy, no Vince. No concerts, no shouting, screaming, or breaking glasses. Just quiet, peace, and you.
"I'm pretty curious about your reaction so close your eyes and don't open until I say so." You nodded and did as told. He helped you not to hit anything. "Okay, now you can open it."
You cautiously and slowly opened your eyes from the sudden brightness. Huge windows were in charge of the light. However, many other things drew your attention. At least, 10 guitars were hanging on the wall along with pieces of vinyl. He knew guitars were your weakness and he was right there smiling from seeing your reaction. You were speechless.
"Dear Satan, this is beautiful." You held up your hand to hide your open mouth.
"I knew, you would like it!" He snickered and showed you around in his room. There were some bookshelves, tapes, and other types of vinyl as well. You noticed some family pictures as well. "Yeah, well, Susie hasn't changed a bit."
"These photos are adorable." You put down the frame and turned to him. "So, do you have any plans for the day?"
"What about your famous Spaghetti Bolognese Dylan was talking about?" He asked pulling you closer his eyes not leaving yours. You could feel his breath on your skin and his hands on your hips. "Or we could let him rest a bit and try if we fit in the bed?"
"Oh, I thought I would get a guest room as well." You joked earning a small laugh from him.
"Gosh, how much I missed this!" Dylan was filling his mouth with your spaghetti and it appeared that Mick loved it, too. You were holding a glass full of wine and were watching them.
"It's nothing special, actually. Just some secret ingredients, that's all." You noted. "However, I'm glad that criminals love my food." You added while taking a sip.
"What?" Dylan inquired with raised brows. "Don't- don't tell me you were arrested, too. Cause I won't believe it."
Mick rolled his eyes and kept his attention on his plate.
"It wasn't me, alright? And can we just forget about it?"
"Then welcome to the club, man. Don't worry, you are not bad. She also sat in there for a few days." He tilted his head towards you making you choke on your wine.
"Nothing surprises me anymore." Mick chuckled shaking his head.
That day, you felt loved. By Mick, and by Dylan. Both are a different kind of love, but you felt special. For a long period, it was the first day, you felt safe. No fire, no drunk people trying to flirt with you, no drugs. Of course, only for a week. Then you will have to go back, but first, you wanted the enjoy every minute of being with Mick and your brother.

As You Are | 1
Tumblr media
BTS Song Series: "As You Are,“ The Weeknd
Pairing: Yoongi X OC (Yong Sun). Also, pay attention to the other characters. We’ll see them again in the rest of my BTS Song Series.
Word Count:  4,390
Genre & Warnings: I suppose we can call this angst but there will be romance. I like happy endings. And smut.
Note: Before anyone gets mad, and is all “What do you know? How dare you write about things you don’t understand.” Trust me, I understand. This work is one I’ve been debating writing for awhile, not knowing how I felt about it, because Sun is basically me. I’ve gone through a lot of this. Every emotion she feels is one that I’ve felt. Well, except for getting my big break. Still am at the working a shitty job phase. I would also like to state that if anyone reading this deals with abuse or knows of someone dealing with abuse, I am a safe space. Feel free to talk to me. I’ve been where you are, and I understand.
Also, WOW this ended up being pretty long. I just got so invested in the story and couldn’t stop.
Yong Sun was tired. So fucking tired of everything.
Sunny, as she was known to her best friends (They thought it was hilarious because she was anything but Sunny), shuffled into the tiny studio apartment, throwing her bag into a corner before falling into the nearest bundle of blankets. She shared the tiny space with her younger sister Mina, as well as the five girls that were once part of her Kpop group. Rose, Lily, Ruby, Hana, and Nara. All the girls except Nara had their names legally changed while they were still trainees. Even Sunny and Mina, because Sunny’s old name represented evil to her. She chose Yong as their new last name. It meant Dragon. It made her feel strong. And she had to be strong for her girls. For her sister, who was her entire world. It was Mina’s dream to be an idol, and it made Sun happy to help her. They still treated Sunny like she was the leader of their group. The group that never got to debut that is. They’d all left that horrible company that they’d trained at for years together. And now they all starved together. Yay sisterhood.
Sunny sighed and looked around. There was no real furniture anywhere. They couldn’t afford it and didn’t have space. Just seven bundles of blankets, a plastic dresser for all of their clothes, and her keyboard in the corner. She looked at it for a second, debating whether she felt like playing, and decided against it. It would take an act of God to get her to move right now. She’d just finished another agonizing twelve-hour shift at her most recent shitty job at a grocery store, and it felt like every bone in her body ached. Unfortunately, she was also hungry, but the chances of there being anything to eat in the house were slim, so she decided to just sleep it off.
She’d finally started to doze off when her phone rang. She assumed it would be her sister, so she answered without looking. She shot up as she listened to the person on the other end, eyes widening, unable to say more than yes or thank you and goodbye. Sunny pressed the end call button and stared at her phone. This was going to change everything. They had a chance. Sunny almost felt like crying. She’d been trying so hard to keep everything together for her girls.
She heard keys turn in the lock, and looked up to see everyone returning together, a couple of them with shopping bags after going to the convenience store for a cheap dinner.
“Holy fuck you guys! You will not believe who the hell just called me. Bang freaking PD.” She was practically screeching at this point.
“What?” Mina looked at Sunny like she’d finally lost it, setting her groceries down and sharing a look with the others.
"I know this sounds insane, and I still don’t really believe anything. Like, why the hell would he call us? And why would HE call us, not a secretary? But he says they want to try out putting together a girls group. And guess who they want?”
“Are you kidding me right now?” Lily screamed. “How does he even know about us?”
“I guess someone from our old company mentioned us, and that would be perfect for what he had in mind, but he wants us to come in and show him what we can do in person. We’re going tomorrow at noon. Tomorrow is a new beginning.” Sunny grinned at the group of six girls in front of her, everyone squealing in unison.
The next day they found themselves in front of a group of people, all of them feeling a bit like performing monkeys, but excited. Sunny did her best to not show how nervous she was, hiding behind a veil of skepticism. It wasn’t that hard to fake though. She still wasn’t sure if this was really happening. On the table before them was Bang PD himself, along with a handful of other people, and one face she recognized. Obviously, this was the culprit that must have told Bang PD about them. Her old vocal coach from the company from hell. He shot her a cheeky grin, and she raised an eyebrow and snorted at him in response.
One of the people at the table before them, a very scary looking older woman, gave them the nod that indicated they wanted them to start. Sunny looked over at her girls and gave a similar nod, and they all got into position. Rather than using some song or dance that they no doubt had seen a million times before, the girls had decided to use one of their own original pieces. Though they’d left their previous company, they’d still kept up with their practice and creating on their own. The music started and Sunny blocked out the faces in front of them, focusing on the music. She didn’t need to watch and see if her girls were doing well; She knew they would. Sunny lost herself in the song, throwing every bit of desperation and hope into it that she could. They had to make it. As the last note died down, she came back to herself, putting her shields back up and smirking at the people before her. Eyebrows were raised, Coach Nate was all smiles and thumbs up. She was pleased with the response, but only one of their opinions mattered. She looked over at Bang PD and suddenly felt lightheaded. He was smiling too and clapping. They were saved!
A slight movement caught her eye and she peered over at the double doors in the back of the room. Min Yoongi himself stood there, watching them. Sunny would die before admitting this to anyone, but she’d had a thing for him for awhile. He was so very talented. And pretty. She wondered if he was unhappy about this new change for his company. His face gave away nothing of his opinion on the performance. He noticed her looking and stared for a minute before turning and leaving. Sunny was a little disappointed, but she shrugged and turned her attention back to Bang PD. He was telling them that they were in, and what to expect from now on. As the people left, Nate came over yelling with excitement.
"Am I great or what? I knew he’d love you, girls!” They all rushed to hug him, except Sunny, who elected to grin at him from the table she was leaning against.
“Ah, but the question is, what are you doing here Nate?” She asked in a slow drawl, curious but not unhappy. He was, after all, one of the few people she had been able to stand at that God forsaken place.
“It’s Coach, or Coach Nate for the millionth time, Sun.” He chuckled. “I left them a while ago. I had been thinking about leaving there for some time, but about six months after you guys left, I found out the truth of WHY you left. That was the last straw. I decided that I would sing your praises to any that would listen. I got this job last month, and I’ve been bothering everyone here about you guys since then. I’m sorry for what happened. I feel like shit that I didn’t know and wasn’t able to help. I’ve sent anonymous tips to newspapers and stuff since.” He looked apologetically at Mina, and she patted his arm.
Sunny didn’t like to talk about that time, so she cleared her throat. “Moving on to other matters, let’s go pack! They said we can move into our dorms on Monday, so we have to get everything taken care of. Luckily for us, we’re the poor girl’s club, so there’s less to do.” Sunny chuckled, shrugging back into her leather jacket, and leading her girls to the exit like ducklings.
“See ya on Monday, Nate!"
"COACH!”
“Whatever.”
Monday came and they found themselves staring up at the building that was to be their new home. The woman that introduced herself as their manager explained that they would be on the second floor, with two girls to a room. The funny thing was, she said that like she was apologizing, not knowing that it sounded like heaven to the girls. Manager Kim showed them around the spacious dorm room, apologizing over and over again about size or sharing rooms, or even that there was no vanity lighting in the bathroom. Sunny just wanted her to shut up because she was just thrilled there seemed to be working hot water.
“Now, the biggest issue is that you are not the only group using this building. The top floor is being used by BTS. There is security roaming the buildings inside and outside, and of course, I will be available for you 24/7. However, with a group that big, there are always fans trying to find the place or the ones that have found it are always trying to take pictures or sneak in. Therefore, you won’t be able to leave the dorms without an escort.” Manager Kim rambled as she made her way back to the front door. “I’ll leave you girls to get comfortable. Be sure to call me if you need absolutely anything. I’m on the same floor.”
Finally, she was gone and the girls turned to each other, squealing. They paired off rooms with each other, leaving Sunny to have a room to herself, at Mina’s insistence. Sunny didn’t mind at all. She’d never had a room to herself before, and it was kind of exciting. Before doing anything, she set up her precious keyboard in front of a window in the living room that had a great view of the outside.
She stroked the keys and smiled. She was actually looking forward to playing again. Finally, she made her way to her bedroom and threw her bag on the ground before looking around. It was already partially furnished. Bed, desk, nightstand…already more furniture than she’d had before. She flopped onto the bed and stared at the ceiling. This all felt so much like a dream, and she really hoped it wasn’t.
She hadn’t felt this hopeful…in a long time. Not since both she and Mina had passed auditions at the other company. That hope had died out after years of bullying and harsh training, only to get passed up again and again as newer trainees debuted instead of them. She needed this to work. THEY needed this to work. She was tired of having nothing, tired of seeing her girls hungry and exhausted. She was just tired….
The doorbell woke her up two hours later, and Sunny shot up, startled. She hadn’t even meant to fall asleep, but the bed was so comfortable. She got up and stretched, knowing her back was going to hurt her later after years of sleeping on the floor and padded her way out to the living room.
“PIZZA DELIVERY!” A deep voice boomed as Rose opened the front door to reveal six members of BTS holding a ton of pizza boxes. They all gave a quick bow and started walking inside, as the girls exchanged looks of amusement.
“We remembered our first night in the dorms. There was no food, and we were too shy to ask for some sent to us, so we thought we’d bring this by. It’s also so we can get to know our new neighbors!” Hoseok explained, grinning as introductions were made.
The girls had obviously been exploring while Sunny had been napping, because they’d found all the dishes and cups they’d need and set the table, talking and laughing with the boys like they’d known each other forever. She’d merely exchanged polite smiles and accepted the pizza that Jin handed her. She’d never been great with meeting people, not knowing what the hell she was supposed to say. Hoseok seemed to know how she felt because he plopped down next to her at the table and started asking questions, mostly about the music and what they knew how to do. She had to admit they were all nice. They seemed to know how to make all the girls comfortable and were fun to talk to. Although, the blushes that kept showing up on Mina’s face whenever Hoseok talked to her were worrisome.
“Aren’t you guys going to get into trouble for being here? I’m sure they would freak if they found out.” Sunny asked, looking at Namjoon.
He shrugged. “They’ll probably say something, but they haven’t stated any official rules yet. You’re the first girls in the company, remember? I’m sure as long as we behave ourselves, it won’t be a big issue.”
“Aw, do we have to? I’m not good at the whole behaving thing.” Hana joked, earning a laugh from around the table.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang again, and the girls looked at each other like they just summoned trouble.
Namjoon saw their faces and chuckled, getting up to get the door. “Don’t worry. I texted Yoongi to let him know we were here if he gets hungry. He was writing earlier and couldn’t leave.”
Sunny stiffened at that and held her breath. She wasn’t really sure why she would react like that, but ever since she’s seen him watching them the other day, she’d been wondering when she’d run into him again. She watched as the door opened to reveal a tired looking, and slightly uncomfortable, Min Yoongi. Namjoon led him over to the table where he simply nodded at everyone, accepted a plate of pizza from Jimin, and started to eat without saying a word. Sunny thought she caught him glancing her way a few times, but decided she must be thinking too much into it.
An hour later everything was cleaned up and they were all relaxing in the living room, the boys telling stories of the year they debuted. It helped now that the girls had an idea of what to expect, and they appreciated the advice. Even Yoongi had chimed in a few times. Jungkook was being nosy and looking around the dorms when he spotted the keyboard.
“Oh, who plays?” Jungkook exclaimed, pointing at it.
“Sunny does! She’s so good too. When we were in training, it only took a couple months before she started sounding like she’d been playing her whole life.” Mina was smiling at her, making Sunny feel like a spotlight was shining right on her face. She knew what was coming next.
“Play something, Sissy!” Mina clapped and pointed at the keyboard.
With a groan, Sunny got up and started walking over. As she sat, sneaked a glance over at Yoongi. She was a little embarrassed to be playing in front of someone who was known to be good on the piano, but a part of her wanted to show off a little too. He wasn’t the only one in the world who could be good at something.
She looked down at the keys, stroking them in thought, before looking out the window she’d placed the piano in front of. She’d always wanted a spot like this for her piano, so she could play and look out at the world. She let her hands move across the keys as she stared out into the sky. She put everything into the song. All of her hopes for the future, her love for her girls, her desire to happy for once in her life, despite the demons that lived inside her.
She didn’t even notice the room had gone quiet or feel the intense stare of the man watching as she let a piece of her soul exit through her fingers. Sunny finally came back to herself as she played the last note, and just stopped, looking down at her hands. Cheers erupted and they were all clapping behind her. She could hear the boys occasional “WOW” or “So Cool.” Embarrassed by the attention, she waited until she could compose herself before turning back around, only to catch Yoongi’s eyes. He just stared, expressionless, just looking at her. Finally, there was a small smile, that left as quickly as it had come.
“Well, this has been fun.” He drawled, getting up from the couch. “We all have to get going now though. Busy day tomorrow.” He walked out the front door, not even checking to see if the rest of the boys were behind him. The others got up, apologizing, and they left too, promising to stop by again soon to see how things were going. As soon as the door closed on the last member, all the girls looked at each other, before laughing.
The next few months were a blur of activity. None of the girls needed much training since they’d already trained for years. Most of what needed doing were promotions and getting their songs put together. Luckily, everyone had loved the original music that the girls had been working on, and all that they needed to do was record everything. They’d released their first full music video last month, and it was being well received. They’d been able to stay true to themselves and go with their own style. Part of the reason they’d hadn’t gone far in their old company was that they hadn’t been willing to go Bubblegum pop. Sunny still had nightmares of the fluffy dress they’d tried to make her wear. They’d even had a say in the naming of their group. Sunny named them Phoenix. It seemed fitting for the group that died and came back to life. Fans were popping up everywhere and saying how excited they were for an edgy, fierce girl group. All of the girls were getting excited. This was it. They’d made it.
Sunny was having the time of her life. She was starting to feel like everything was going great. All of her girls were happy. She was happy because Mina was happy. She couldn’t even remember the last time she’d seen Mina frown. She knew to keep her guard up, but maybe, just a little bit, she could try to let loose and enjoy this adventure.
She was in her little studio, her second home as the others called it, working on a new melody that had been stuck in her head all day when someone came in to hand her some mail. They’d started receiving fan mail recently, and most of the girls were loving it. Sunny thought most of it ridiculous since nine times out of ten it was someone proposing. Occasionally, she got a letter from someone worth reading. Her favorite had been when a little girl sent her a letter and a picture of her learning the piano so she could play their song. She had to admit she had a bit of a soft spot for kids. She’d starting taking over reading the fan mail herself when Ruby screamed after getting her sixth dick pic. Sunny pointed out with a grin that it was actually sweet since they took the time and money to print it out for her. Ruby was not amused.
Chuckling at the memory, Sunny reached in and picked a letter at random. It had no return address, which was odd. She shrugged and opened it, pulling out the letter.
My dearest daughters….
Oh dear God, no. Fucking no.
The letter was shaking in her hands and she wanted to pass out, but she forced herself to read the rest of it, before letting it fall to the ground.
Mina, she had to find Mina.
Sunny ran to the dance studio, where she knew Mina would be practicing. Slamming open the door, she looked inside and found her in there, along with a coach and some of the boys from BTS. It looked like they were teaching her some of their dances. They all looked over at the sound of the door, but she didn’t spare them a glance as she stared at Mina. When she finally felt she could talk without screaming, she grabbed at Mina’s wrist.
“Have someone take you home. Close all the curtains, lock the door and prop something in front of it. I’ll make sure that there is security in front of the door.” Sunny knows she’s growling and sounding insane, but she doesn’t care. All she knows is Mina needs to be safe.
“Sun, what’s going on? It’s not…” Mina whispered, her eyes going big and Sunny could feel her start to tremble.
“It is. Go. Now.” Sunny yelled, watching as the girls left, confused and worried, Mina following behind them starting to cry.
Sunny hated seeing her cry.
Not realizing she wasn’t alone, she finally let loose her inner rage and slammed her fist into the dance mirror, screaming. She welcomed the pain in her hand and looked down. She’d managed to keep hold of a shard of the glass. She stared at it. It would be so easy. No one really needed her. Mina was with a company that could take care of her now. It was obvious Sunny would never be happy. She’d had a glimpse of peace and now he was here as if to remind her that she was shit and always would be. She couldn’t let him get a hold of her again. She couldn’t handle that nightmare. She closed her hand around the glass. If she just ended it now, she would be free.
Someone suddenly grabbed her and pried her hand open.
“Drop it,” Yoongi growled in her ear, wrapping his hand around her wrist and applying pressure.
She gave in with a cry, the glass shattering at her feet, her palm dripping with blood, and he moved his hand from her wrist to wrap an arm around her waist and pull her closer.
“I wasn’t actually going to do it. I was just…” she sobbed.
“I know. Believe me, I know.” He sighed, propping his chin on her head.
They stayed like that for awhile, letting her get it all out. Finally, she started to calm down and wiped at her tears.
“I’m fine.”
“Okay.”
“Really, I’m fine.” She just couldn’t stop trembling.
“Alright,” Yoongi kept his arm wrapped around her torso. “Just be fine sitting here with me for a few seconds, yeah? My legs are pretty tired…”
“Do you want to do that really gross thing where we sit here and talk about our feelings?” he asked, pulling her down to sit on the practice room floor.
She let out a weak chuckle and nodded. She needed to tell someone in case the worst happened, not because she wanted to actually tell Yoongi her fucked up story.
“He’s back.” she started, taking a deep breath and closing her eyes. She fucking hated feeling this way.
“My Father. He left a long time ago. Not that we minded. He was a monster.” She explained, looking at the floor, not wanting to see the judgmental look that she was sure would be there on his face. “He hurt us, a lot. I did everything I could to spare Mina, but he got to her too sometimes. There were…other things too, but…yeah. We went through a lot after he left, trying to take care of ourselves, and we were sure we’d never have to see him again. We even changed our names, and he hasn’t seen us since we were young. I didn’t think he’d recognize us. He sent me a letter saying he wants to meet.” Sunny closed her eyes again, trying to calm herself mentally.
“Do you want to meet up with him?” Yoongi asked, grabbing her chin gently and forcing her to look at him.
“Fuck no!”
“Then don’t.” Yoongi lifted an eyebrow at her as if that should have been the common sense answer.
“You don’t understand. If I don’t meet up with him, probably to give him money or something, he’ll go after Mina. That can’t happen.” Sunny explains in a rush, clenching her teeth. “He knows I’ll do anything to keep him away from her, so that’s exactly what he’ll try to do.”
“We’ll talk to everyone that needs to know and let them know you guys need extra detail. Make sure you carry something with you at all times for protection. We’ll even let you borrow Sejin; He’s huge.” he grins, and Sunny gives a weak chuckle. It’s not untrue. Manager Sejin was a teddy bear, but a HUGE teddy bear.
“Thank you Yoongi.” Sunny whispers, pausing before adding, “For everything.”
“Yeah. It’s…look, I’ve been there alright? Just…talk to me if you feel like that again. You know where to find me. Now go get that hand taken care of. It’s going to leave a badass scar. Tell them you fought off Ninjas or something.”
Yoongi helps Sunny to her feet and walks out of the room without another glance. She watched the back of him until he disappeared around the corner. She wasn’t sure if what she was feeling right now was the beginning of love or if she just felt really grateful, but she felt something.
A week went by without issue. Yoongi had obviously talked to someone, probably Bang PD himself because security had been tightened not just around the dorms, but whenever the girls left as well. They usually had at least three big security guys with them at all times. Sunny had also gotten back into her childhood habit of glancing around every room she was in to make sure there was something nearby to be used as a weapon. She kept knives strapped to her ankle whenever they left. Most importantly, she made sure Mina was protected 24/7.
Today had been a long day. They’d had their first TV performance, and it really drained Sunny. As much as she loved music, it was hard getting used to the thousands of stares and knowing everyone was judging you. She sighed as she got out of the company van and started walking up the cobblestone path to their dorms. A hand snaked out and slammed her against the side of the building, where the view was shadowed by shrubs and a large tree.
“Did you miss me?”

Figure
It was a normal Monday morning, I got up at 6:45am and did my daily routine. It was 8:10am and my dad called me to go to school. I grabbed a CD off my shelf and went downstairs. I jumped into the car and turned on the heat as it was freezing. I put on my favourite Arctic Monkeys album and my dad and I bopped our heads for the 20-minute journey to school. It was a completely normal journey so far.
My dad dropped me off and I walked into school with my head down, as usual, I went down the hall to my locker and waited for the motion-activated light to clock my presence. I took my keys out of my bag and opened my creaky, royal-blue locker and but my jacket and phone in, I closed the locker and headed to the main area to try and spot my friend. I saw him and I skipped over to him and we caught up about our weekends. Alex was very quiet and to himself, but he was open and chatty to me, I guess I have that effect on people. We chatted for a good 20-minutes before the bell rang. I had English first with Mr McCarthy and I was looking forward to this class all week. We were going to be discussing gothic texts and that was right down my street.
I strutted into the class and to my dismay we had a substitute and he had left no work at all. The substitute was a short plump woman and she seemed very anti-teenager (she was in the wrong job). I decided I was going to listen to music for the hour, I then realized that I had thrown my headphones into my locker instead of my bag this morning.
I was exhausted so I just put my head down and I couldn’t relax because the class were so loud and the substitute had absolutely no control over a bunch of 15 and 16-year-olds. It's funny sometimes to watch a grown woman panic about a bunch of adolescents. I finally relaxed but maybe a bit too much, I started to drift away into dreamland.
      2
I was rudely awoken by a flash that flew past me. I blinked slowly to try and get my orientation back. I was dizzy and I couldn’t see properly, I rubbed my eyes roughly and looked up. I saw there was something written on the whiteboard, ‘Turn Around’ was there in child-like handwriting. Puzzled I turned my head thinking someone was playing a prank on me, as I was looking around I noticed the lack of classmates and a teacher. When I had fully rotated I saw a figure standing in the corner standing completely still with its head down, facing the wall. I pinched myself to wake myself up from this cruel dream. I wasn’t removed from the room, this was real.
I shot my head back to the board and now it read ‘RUN!’ in bold writing. I turn back to the figure and it was turned around, his head still down but facing me. I couldn’t make out a single characteristic of the figure, this made it even more terrifying. I quickly turned my head back to the board and the writing was removed and replaced with ‘too late’ in all lowercase and red.
I panicked and looked to the corner to see the figure had vanished. I spun on the spot as I heard the door slam. Petrified, I turn trying to look for another way out, there was none. Footsteps passed by the classroom and menacing laughter emerged from the hallway. Suddenly, the room turned pitch-black and then the lights began to flicker. The running footsteps were now in the classroom and the menacing laughter got louder and louder. I dropped to my knees and covered my eyes and balled my eyes out. Hoping and hoping this was just a dream. I peered through my hands to see the room was black and the lights had stopped flickering. I gained the courage to look up slowly, and the lights came back on and I saw what horror was in-front of me.  I saw the figure bolting towards me. It had long stick-thin legs and matching arms. Its face was a gaping hole with sharp teeth all around and a lizard-like tongue and lizard eyes that were one of the only things that lit up. I screeched and the room turned pitch black.
This is a continuation of a story we had to do in school for English.

LABOUR DAY SEPTEMBER 3, 2018 FIREWORKS – ANNA MARIA ISLAND
Labor Day is right around the corner and you and your family members staying on fabulous Anna Maria Island won’t want to miss the fireworks show hosted by the Sandbar Restaurant.
youtube
We are all familiar with the whizzes and whoops as fireworks screech up into the night sky. For firework lovers there is nothing more exciting than a spectacular firework display at the Sandbar Restaurant with plenty of affects and an array of colour.
The Sandbar had complaints and displeased attendees after a disappointing Firework show on July 4th of this year. According to the Sandbar events operation manager, Jim Harwood, the team Creative Pyrotechnics, hired by the Sandbar lacked experienced staff and fireworks. The same company have offered to do it right on Labour Day and everyone is hopeful that it will be every bit as good as the Sandbar’s years past fireworks displays.
Bring a blanket, beach towel or beach chairs and enjoy the show for free from the sand. Seating at the restaurant is first come, first served.
There are several ways to travel from Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals – 601 Gulf Dr. N. Anna Maria Island, Florida 34217 to the Sandbar. There is the free Island trolley service with a trolley stop right out front of your door on Gulf Drive. You can consider the Island Beach Monkeys, the monkey bus which is a tip only service. If you choose to drive to the Sandbar please keep in mind that parking is limited, making it my last choice of transportation.
Whatever your means of transportation, come out and enjoy a waterfront breeze while marveling at the fantastic bursts of color. What a great way to celebrate the “unofficial end of summer” at this free community fireworks celebration.

June 26th-June 28th:
We spent the past few days in Quepos and visiting Manuel Antonio and it was amazing! We woke up and had a delicious breakfast where I tired Pineapple Jam for the first time and I am hooked!!! We then got ready to go to the National Park and see some sloths! We walked to the bus stop and paid only 52¢ each to catch the bus to Manuel Antonio. When we arrived it was only to find out that the ONE day a week that the park isn’t open is Monday and wouldn’t you know it was Monday. so we decided to make the best of it and enjoy the small town outside the park. We stopped by some beautiful shops. The wood work here is astonishing! We bought some small trinkets including a SLOTH TAPESTRY! We went to the shop of an indigenous Costa Rica tribesman and he showed me a tigers eye bracelet with moonstone that he had made and told me about tigers eye being indigenous to Costa Rica. Tigers eye is one of the stones of Capricorn and I took this as a sign that I needed this item, haha. We realized we didn’t have enough colones to pay the man so we said we would come back and buy it later. Instead the man put it in my wrist and told us to just pay him later, whenever we could. This was so odd to me. This man trusted two complete strangers to return and pay him for something he worked hard on. He said “no worries, ours vida, don’t worry be happy” and smiled as we left. We went back to Quepos to get some lunch at Subway, where not one person spoke English which was odd in a tourist town, then went to the bank. We came back to the beach about 2 hours later and our friend was so excited to see us. We thanked him and paid him and he told us how he knew we were honest people and that he hoped our Costa Rica life was blessed. It was one of those life changing experiences I will never forget. We then headed back to the hotel. The next day we got up to try going to the National Park for the second time we were successful in our endeavor and I don’t even know how to explain how beautiful and tranquil it was. After the stress of housing falling through, having to spend WAYYY more money initially then we planned and now living on a very tight budget of 100$ until the end of July, language barriers and overall homesickness at times it was nice to feel truly at peace. We started by being surrounded by tons of people and I didn’t think we would get a moment of not hearing a guide yell about the wildlife while I tried to enjoy the silence and beauty of nature. However we walked about 20 minutes in and really saw how large this Park was and we were finally in the jungle alone on the trails. We saw cute monkeys and crabs that were bright neon orange. We heard the loudest howler money screech which stopped everyone within the area we were in there tracks. Then we went to the spot where I’m pretty sure my soul died and was reborn, “The Perezozo trial,” or SLOTH TRAIL! I was so excited and I got to see not only one sloth but three walking the trial. They were so high in the trees and made it hard to get great pictures but I was just happy to be in the same area as the adorable creatures! We then went to the National Park beach and saw more monkeys and super friendly raccoons that wanted to steal people’s pillows we went in the water which was so refreshing of the humid forest that we had walked for hours. After we cooled off we continued to walk the trails and felt the rain rolling in, as the rain forest properly suggests️ we started our walk back and caught the bus back to Quepos where we spent the rest of the evening eating and catching up on some rest. We went to probably our new favorite food spot, ChiliMex, it’s a little local shop in Quepos where the owner became a quick friend. He knew much English and even helped teach us some small Spanish to help us in the other towns to get food. His family is from Puriscal, our small town, and he was very excited to talk about it with us. We got burgers which were so delicious and after about an hour of chatting we headed back to the hotel, only to return to Chilimex to have a quesadilla for dinner and talk to our friend one more time. We can’t wait to return with family and friends to Quepos! On our last day we woke up and had breakfast and watch the beautiful waves until we had to catch the bus back to Puriscal at 1pm. We have figured the buses out better now and have realized that the stop at the soda is a normal stop, which is why we probably looked odd complaining about something that happens all the time, way to go gringos . The bus ride back was a little scary due to rain and some mudslides that had happened while we were gone which made the roads slippery and when we are close to a cliff at 3,000 feet it’s a little intense haha. But we made it safe of course and we were ready to be home after the long bus ride. Overall Quepos and some of the people there will always have a place in my heart! 🇨🇷️

NCAA Tournament 2017: The best and worst of everything from Sweet 16 Thursday
The madness is back, and now we know that it’s going to give us at least one team making its Final Four debut.
The first week of the NCAA tournament is sort of like being held captive in the best prison in the world. For four straight days you have little contact with the outside world, you forget that grass is green and the sky is blue, but you know how many points that little kid from Mount St. Mary’s put on Villanova.
Then, suddenly, it’s gone. For truly institutionalized hoops junkies, getting re-acclimated with “the real world” goes about as well as it did for Brooks in The Shawshank Redemption. A little better, but not much.
Finally, Thursday returns and so does our reservation at the March Madness prison. The stay is never as long or as involved as it was the week before, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less pleasurable.
Here are all the best and worst things that the return of the NCAA tournament gave us on Thursday.
Best Game
(11) Xavier 73, (2) Arizona 71 (West)
This was supposed to be the biggest mismatch of not just Thursday, but of the entire Sweet 16. Xavier was a team that had lost its best player to injury and then lost six straight games before beating DePaul both in its regular season finale and in the first game of the Big East tournament. If the Musketeers lose either of those games, they probably aren’t even in the field of 68. Arizona, meanwhile, rolled to the Pac-12 tournament title and had been the American public’s runaway favorite to make it out of the West Region since the moment the brackets were unveiled.
None of that mattered on Thursday, as Trevon Bluiett dropped a game-high 25 points to lead Xavier to a stunning 73-71 win in which the Musketeers scored the game’s final nine points. With his team owning possession and just 50 seconds to play, Chris Mack correctly went 2-for-1 and got a Sean O’Mara bucket off a great feed from Bluiett. After a Kadeem Allen miss on the other end and an O’Mara miss on the front end of a 1-and-1, Arizona had one final shot to tie or take the lead. Allonzo Trier’s potential game-winner went in and out.
The remarkable thing about Xavier’s run isn’t just that they’re doing it as an 11 seed, it’s that they’re doing it in a season where Myles Davis left the team and star Edmond Sumner was lost for the season with an ACL tear. No team is supposed to be able to stand up after a pair of body blows like that, and yet here Xavier is.
The flip side of this is that Sean Miller now retains his title of college basketball’s best coach to never make a Final Four. It’ll happen, but so will an increase in restlessness amongst his fan base until it does.
Team That Won It Best
Kansas
Just when you think the Jayhawks’ train of destruction in this tournament is about to screech to slow down, it picks up even more momentum. At the 16 minute mark of the second half, Purdue had the ball and trailed Kansas by just two points. The Jayhawks outscored them 45-15 from that point on.
Frank Mason may have locked up national Player of the Year honors on Thursday by dropping 26 points, seven assists and seven rebounds on a Purdue team that features fellow candidate Caleb Swanigan. While Mason was tremendous, it continues to be the increasingly stellar play of do-it-all freshman Josh Jackson that has made KU so terrifying for the last two weeks. Jackson scored 15 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and made four steals on Thursday night.
There’s no guarantee that Kansas is 10 days away from winning a national title, but there’s no doubt that through two and-a-half rounds of play, they’ve been the most impressive team in this tournament.
Team That Was The Biggest Disappointment
Arizona
Purdue lost by 32, yes, but Arizona was the biggest favorite of any team in this round, and one of the biggest favorites overall to cut down the nets in Phoenix. For them not to take advantage of what had already become the weaker side of the bracket only makes their upset loss that much more difficult to swallow for ‘Zona fans.
It doesn’t matter how good or bad Xavier has been in recent weeks or what their seed was, Arizona was up seven in this game with a minute to play. Regardless of the opponent, the Wildcats have to seal the deal in that situation. Instead, they didn’t score another point and their Final Four drought will last into at least 2018.
All-Sweet 16 Thursday Team
Frank Mason, Kansas
The national POY front-runner proved why on Thursday, leading Kansas’ blowout of Purdue by scoring 26 points to go with seven rebounds and seven assists.
Trevon Bluiett, Xavier
Bluiett is quietly on the type of March tear that could wind up making him an NCAA tournament legend when all’s said and done. He scored a game-high 25 points in Xavier’s upset of Arizona.
Derrick Walton Jr., Michigan
The above statement could have also been true for Walton had his final attempt Thursday night gone about three inches farther. He still finished his final game of the season with 20 points and eight assists.
Tyler Dorsey, Oregon
Dorsey has now scored 20 or points in each of Oregon’s last six games. The points that got him to the mark on Thursday were also the two that won the game for the Ducks.
Allonzo Trier, Arizona
Like Walton, Trier’s final shot not finding the bottom of the net ruined what had been an otherwise stellar performance. He finished with 19 points and nine rebounds, and scored 15 straight for the Wildcats at one point during the second half.
Three Thursday Cheers
1. A guaranteed surprise finalist
After Thursday’s action, one of these six teams is guaranteed to play in the national championship game a week from Monday:
Gonzaga Xavier Baylor South Carolina Florida Wisconsin
It’s a list of names that features a healthy combination of good teams representing programs that people typically view as less than Final Four caliber, and respected programs who fielded teams that weren’t supposed to be able to do this in this particular season.
No Duke, no Villanova, no Arizona, and I’m good with it. We’re now virtually guaranteed to have an “everybody doubted us” story in some form heading into the title game, which is cool.
We also get a regional final featuring two teams looking to go to their first Final Four (Gonzaga and Xavier) for the first time since 1999. Ironically enough, that game was Gonzaga vs. Florida and was the first of the Bulldogs’ now 19 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances.
2. Chris Webber’s clapping and berating of officials
Look, Chris Webber flubbed a decent amount of word and calls during the broadcast of Gonzaga/ West Virginia Thursday night. I heard them. It’s cool.
Why is is cool? Because Webber also spent seven straight minutes ripping officials who inexplicably took that long to review an obvious call, and then when did the same to an official’s face when he came over to try and explain the situation. All of this happened on live TV, mind you. Also happening on live TV was Webber openly clapping after a crazy sequence which ended in Gonzaga’s Jordan Matthews burying the biggest shot of the game.

Keep doing you, C-Webb.
3. A double-digit seed still dancing
Xavier’s not your typical 11 seed, but it’s always nice to have a double-digit seed still dancing on one of the final two days of regional play. The Musketeers are now the seventh 11 seed to advance to the Elite 8, and there’s a little bit of positive history on their side.
The previous six 11 seeds to make a regional final have all squared off against No. 1 seeds, and three of them have won those games and advanced to the Final Four. You’ll take that stat if you’re a Xavier fan gearing up to see your team take on top-seeded Gonzaga on Saturday.
Three Thursday Jeers
1. West Virginia’s final possession
I just ... I ... why didn’t they ....... what is this?
You need to see the whole thing, and you need to see it sped up and set to Yakety Sax.

It was a fitting ending to what was a competitive Sweet 16 game, but one which had an unhealthy ratio of whistles to exciting moments.
2. The end of the Michigan storyline
People will be talking about Michigan’s memorable March for years to come, but the story will always end in the Sweet 16. It didn’t look like that was going to be the case for a healthy chunk of the night on Thursday, but Oregon made all the plays the Wolverines couldn’t in the game’s final minutes to ensure that it would be.
3. The missed dunk trend rolls into week two
The three-day break didn’t change anything.
Add Jordan Bell to the list.

Best Quote
“First of all, I don’t know that I have a monkey on my back. I don’t wake up with one or walk around with one. I don’t think these guys think I have one, I don’t think my wife thinks I have one, or anybody in my family. Close friends. Fishing buddies never talk about it. So those are the only people that really matter to me. It would be phenomenal to get these guys, this team that I love deeply, the experience to go to a Final Four. It would be phenomenal to give that satisfaction to all the players I’ve been lucky enough to coach, and to give it to a university that has treated me so incredibly well. And to Spokane, which has been such an unbelievable community for us to have our program. But it’s not about me and my monkeys and my dogs and my cats. It’s about them.”
—Gonzaga coach Mark Few when asked about ‘getting the monkey off his back’ and potentially making a Final Four
