Parenting is a struggle. I mean real parenting...being involved in their education, teaching them manners, keeping them occupied, inspiring and guiding them. Telling them stories of the prophets, the sahaba and inspiring lessons we can learn from their lives. It's a lot and it's exhausting. Above all, it can be overwhelming. Where do you start? When do you start? Your child has school, homework, activities, and commitments. What if you have more than one child - two kids can pull you in opposite directions. How about three or four? It all seems impossible 😔. Then we have our own insecurities. Do we know enough to teach them? Will they listen without protesting? Will they understand the lessons we are trying to impart? Are we spending enough time with them? It's very easy to settle into the lull of a routine, but we often need to be reminded that parenting is a sacrifice. It's not supposed to be easy, otherwise Jannah wouldn't be under our feet. It won't always be this way. They grow up so fast. Do what you can today so you won't have regrets tomorrow. Make the right intention and insh'Allah you will be rewarded, in this life and the next.
