Cleansing Carpet Refresher Powder

Many witches incorporate physically cleaning their space as part of how they cleanse the energy of their space, but most tips out there involve sweeping or adding ingredients to mop water or to surface cleansers. But I have carpets! (and simply vacuuming just didn’t feel like enough).

So, my ingredients are for cleansing, healing, and peace: 

Rose 

Lavender 

Rosemary 

Pink Salt 

Bay Leaf 

Chamomile 

Eucalyptus 

Cinnamon

Fine Salt 

I ground that up in my food processor, but a mortar and pestle works really well too! I just had too much shoulder pain to mess with that lol 

Then I added that to baking soda and cornstarch, which help to eliminate odors and lift stains/grease/grossness. I wish I had the measurements but I just poured it in until it seemed right... 

Mixed it up really well and ended up with something like that ^ then I added oils with similar properties (here I will specify that the oils I use are herbal infused oils that I get from a small mompop Indian market, not essential oils). Just a couple drops of each, or else the powder will clump up too much: 

Lemon oil 

Peppermint oil  

Rosemary oil 

Lemongrass oil 

Lavender oil 

Eucalyptus oil

Mix all of that up, and then spread it over your carpet. I tried poking holes in the lid of my jar, but that didn’t spread as easily as using my hands. Lightly tossing it to spread it over the carpet also allowed me to be more involved in my intent. Leave the powder on your carpet for about an hour, and then vacuum it up!

I don't wanna see Tokoyami to pat Hawks's back, someone yell sense into him. Hawks started comparing Endeavor's guilt and atonement to Hawks turning his back on MomPop. Thats a extremely reductive view of Endeavor hes been making up that Endeavor's ok because his abused son Shoto saved him. Endeavor pushed his atonement on his own. He was too stubborn to take no for an answer with his children and its more they relented becuase they wanted him to see his change not that they actively saved him!

Apparently to some people in my inbox I blindly support Hawks so I'm saying this here: what the fuck, Hawks?!

That just... it makes no sense? What similarities is there between his situation and Endeavors previous actions and what do you mean he's saying that Endeavor is okay now because Shouto saved him. Tell me he didn't really say that T-T At least these are just leaks so there is definitely time for that to be a bad translation which I've never hoped for more.

Honestly, I don't know how you guys still read this story, it's doing all the good characters so dirty.

Dialing the Sun

“...That's called a Sundial shell sweetie” Eigen would whisper softly as a pair of dark baby hands drops a flat and spiralled sun touched shell in his hand. Among the shells of many mollusks and gastropods. He gave a small smile as the boy in front of him babbled in reply. Before waddling off to find more pretty things to dump in his mompop's hands.

Eigen takes the shell and turns it over. Remembering vaguely his father's words on its meaning.

Supposed to. That is. Eigen used to remember picking up shells for his poppa to sell off to clients. Every single one had a specific meaning it seemed.

Auger shells. Self realization. Biwa Pearl. Soothes emotion. Fossilized Coral. Blood circulation. Mother of Pearl. Prosperity. Shiva Shell. Intuition and understanding. Sponge Coral. Detection of illness. Stingray coral. Protection from misfortune.

He knew it all and then some. His father used to sell so much shit to people at markets in exchange for milk or dzo meat or furs. It was one of the rare things that helped them survive. Now, almost twenty years later. Here he was with his son. Showing him how to find nice seashells.

Eigen wondered if this was how his father felt. Going out into the world only to see so much hatred. So much contempt. So much self destruction. Is this what made him so cruel. Was he going to turn into it? Was it only a matter of time?

It happened to Kindoron. It happened to Kojhin. It happened to Tolemy. Kadour. Even Dunrai had seemingly turned cruel in his mind.

When was it going to happen to him? He really wanted to know.

He looked to the sea and would repeat that question to the distant horizon. Asking it. With so much wondering feeling. When was he going to be next?

“I don’t want to turn into that” he told the sea. But a part of him, truly felt he had no choice at times. No one listened to him. No one wanted to listen to him, it seemed like. The same thing was going to happen again and again and again and there was nothing to do to stop it.

He wondered if everything was all his fault or he makes it worse. And the whole amount of thoughts that came crashing down on him would make him softly weep.

“Mapa...mapa….”

“Erden?” Eigen would blink. At first with worry, until he would hold up a tiny conch shell. Something that was shaped like his horns. He would blink some more as the shell was held up to his own horn with a giggle. “Mapa...wissen….wi…” He would try and make the older Xaela hear what he heard. It was amazing and magical to his youthful mind. Look! Listen! There was the sea!

“Oh Erden…”

Eigen would pick up the child, with his pile of shells in his hands. And would allow the shells to fall upon his lap. Picking out some of them and softly telling the child the kind of animals they belonged to.

“Someday, you are going to be able to dive deep. And see all those animals for yourself yes?” he asked the child. Who was busy pressing the large shell full of the sea against his ear”

“Sea!” he cheered.

“...Yes…” Eigen would softly say. Wiping at his eyes. The child somewhat reminded him of himself at times. When he was young. He swore he had almost done this exact same thing with his own poppa. But the outcome was different. Very very different. ‘I am not like him’ he told himself.

He wasn’t going to be like him.

He refused.

“Hey...Erden. Do you want to go home and show your mama and poppa what you found?”

There is an unavoidable Miley Cyrus song as part of a tutorial right off the bat. I always played that game with the music off, anyway. And yes, I played the rhythm games with the music off. And still won.

Mom & Pop

1. Little Thought:

The location of this shop is on point. Ample parking space & other establishments all around. The interior design is easy on the eyes; it’s very open due to the glass walls. They also serve Stumptown coffee & delicious cookie from Baltimore.  

2. Baristas:

Just like other cafe establishments, I think this one is also having a difficult time looking for additional good baristas. The baristas seem tired; they lack precision when they are pulling shots & steaming milk. 

3. Drink:

Despite the lack of precision, the drinks are quite decent. The shots are not as flavorful, but they work quite well when the espresso shots are mixed with properly steamed milk. Sometimes they over steam the milk & the milk gets too sweet and ruins the drink. However, this factor won’t matter too much if you are getting a drink with different flavors(ie. vanilla, caramel...). It might sound like I don’t like this place, but I find myself visiting this establishment over and over again. The cafe location is great & they serve decent coffee. If you are a coffee expert, then you will quickly find some errors in the drink. However, I think you will fall in love with this place if you never studied coffee and attended tasting sessions.

4. Experience:

I’ve had lots of positive experience at this place. I will definitely visit again.
