Inferno
Chapter One: Pompeii
Part Two: The Meeting
Hades froze. He did not expect to encounter someone so soon in his venture into the human realm. Yet, he found himself so engrossed in this mysterious woman that he completely forgot his original purpose for leaving the Underworld’s palace. The way her long, ginger hair flowed down her back in a soft, flower-infused braid reminded him of all the beauty that was absent from his world. It was then that he decided that he needed her- desperately.
And ‘fake it’ is what she did for nearly two whole weeks. Aurora’s life became a cycle of not enjoying the way her life was going, yet feeling too powerless to do anything about it.
Her day-to-day consisted of going to work, being Allen's lackey, and hating life. Then she would go home, avoid her ex like the plague, cry, drink herself to sleep, and wake up to hate life all over again. The weekend was a lot harder than the work days. Without the distraction of her busy office, she was left to think about how quickly it felt like things were getting away from her. She had it all just days ago. Now she was sitting in wine-stained pajamas, eating a mix of her own tears and ice cream out of a cup while watching some awful talk show that she, honestly, was not able to keep up with.
“We interrupt this regularly scheduled program to bring you breaking news. Another woman has gone missing near the intersection of Cromer and Mobius in Seattle, Washington. The 26 year old woman, Momo Hirai, was last seen outside of club Inferno with an unknown man. At the time of her disappearance, Momo was seen wearing a black crop top with a hot pink skirt and black thigh-high boots.” The monotonous voice of the anchor woman relays. “The man she left with has yet to be identified but according to police sources, he could be tied to the disappearance of Kim Minjeon- known to friends and family as Winter- who had been reported missing last Tuesday. That is just one of the many missing person’s cases that have been filed this month. If you know anything, we encourage you to come forward with information.”
“Oh wow,” Aurora mumbles to herself, wiping her tear-stained cheeks. “Things are getting serious. I need to start checking in on Lilly more when she goes out.” As if she summoned her, Lilly’s face lit up Aurora’s phone screen and the chorus to “Obsession,” by Exo, filled the room.
“He—“
“We have to go out this weekend! You and me! We need a girls night. There’s this hot new club I keep hearing about and Dawn is dying to take me. Also you desperately need to get out of the house, so you can’t say no,” Lilly said all in one breath.
Aurora raised an eyebrow, confused by the blonde’s sudden outburst the minute she answered the phone. “What happened to: ‘Hi, hello, how are you, how is your night?”
“Just say you will come out with me on Saturday,” Lilly said and Aurora swore she could hear the rolling of eyes through the phone. “You don’t need to eat out of another carton of ice cream.” Aurora subconsciously clutched her cup of ice cream closer to her chest. “Also, you have to meet Dawn.” Dawn is Lilly’s work crush that Aurora always heard about. They never really interacted because they work in different departments but they seemed nice enough.
“First of all, it’s a cup,” Aurora replied defensively. “Second, I’ll think about it.”
This made Lilly groan loudly through the speaker. “You have to come, I need a wing woman…I’ll buy all the Long Island Ice Teas that you want… And I’ll make sure to get us a ride,” she whines.
Aurora hesitates. When Lilly goes out, she goes hard. Aurora was not sure she could keep up after having been a homebody these past 4 years. She wasn’t that same wild 20 year old that she used to be. The wear and tear of nurturing a relationship had weathered her. Without the support of the man she once loved, Aurora was not even sure she would make it to the end of the year and it was currently October.
“C’mon, Dawn has been there a few times and they swear it’s a vibe,” Lilly said enthusiastically. “Saturday is a costume party and we have to go. I’m already working on getting us matching costumes. I’m thinking of going as sexy witches because we’re bad bitches.” Aurora didn’t even have to see her best friend to know that she was on the other side of this phone wiggling her eyebrows.
Aurora sighed out a laugh before pinching the bridge of her brows with her fingers. “Okay,” she begins and she could hear Lilly begin to squeak in success. “AHT! Not done. I’ll go on the condition that you get me a costume, buy my drinks, get us a ride, and promise not to get me to hook up with some stranger at a nightclub.” Lilly groaned, she should have known.
“Rory, you are extremely sexy. You need to use your assets to your advantage.” Aurora rolled her eyes.
“I think you use your assets more than enough for the both of us, ” Aurora said playfully. “I’ll keep my assets to myself, thank you very much.”
Lilly sighed dramatically. “You’re no fun, but whatever. Have it your way if you must. Just be ready by 9.” That’s kinda early for clubbing, Aurora thought.
“Oh, and I'll get your costume by tomorrow so you can do any last minute tailoring.”
“Tomor– tomorrow is Friday, Lills.” Aurora said in confusion. “That’s literally only one day–”
“Bye,” Lilly sings-songs on the other end of her phone before hanging up. This bit–.
Friday arrives quickly along with the costume Lilly bought Aurora. When Aurora takes the costume out of the black garment bag, she finds a black, velvet wicked witch of the west costume. The sweetheart neckline, long, flowing sleeves, open back, and lace trimmings were snugg around Aurora’s whole body. She was a bit on the thicker side but you can see every crevice that made up her curves. This costume was nothing but scandalous.
By Saturday night, Aurora fully understood why they needed to be out of the house by nine. The ride there was horrendous. They spent several minutes stuck in traffic and that was just getting on the freeway to head downtown. Once they reached the downtown area, it was absolute hell, but when you go out with a carouser, you’re always on time in their world.
Aurora followed behind Lilly- who gracefully floated her way to the queue of the club- huffing in annoyance as she struggled to keep up. The striped thigh-high knee socks that Aurora wore kept rolling down and exposing her skin to the cool Autumn air. Taking a brief pause to adjust the flimsy material once more, she bent over to give the hem of her sock a tug when she was overcome by the densely ominous feeling of being watched. The sensation stopped her in her tracks. She stood up and, for a moment, she was unable to focus on anything other than a vague vision of eyes burning a trail on the exposed s–kin of her upper thighs. She was so lost in the sensation that she nearly forgot where she was, but then, these ‘fucking ruby red maryjanes’ were killing the heels of her feet- snapping her right back into the present. She looks around for a moment, trying to find Lilly as she regains her sense of reality. And there Lilly was, waiting for Aurora to join her in the line, and waving Aurora over like a mad woman.
Aurora decided to ignore the feeling as she took in Lilly’s excited expression. She hadn’t been out clubbing in a while, maybe she just forgot what it felt like when so many people were occupying the same space. “Where’s your little work crush at?” Lilly flinched at the sound of Aurora’s voice.
“They said they were coming, Rory. We just have to give them a minute and they’ll get us in,” Lilly said, giving Aurora a pleading look. “If we don’t get in within the next 30 minutes, we can leave. I promise.”
“Within the next 15 minutes,” Aurora glared, annoyed by the blonde who had her shoulders slumped in defeat. “I am not standing out here for another 30 minutes. I want to go home.”
As if by a miracle, a burly man dressed in all black appeared in front of them. He looked at them then nodded his head while his fingers pressed against his ear piece. “Alright, you two come with me.” Lilly looks back at Aurora in surprise, but follows behind the man without much thought. The people that were left in the long line Aurora and Lilly stepped out of complained loudly as the two were escorted from the back of the line to the front entrance, making Aurora curious as to what was so good about this place.
Music blared through Aurora’s ears so loud that she swore her head was vibrating. She was slick with sweat as she danced with Lilly and a very drunk Dawn who had just arrived, but was all over Lilly. Aurora had no idea how long they had been dancing for, but she was already several songs in and it felt amazing.
Almost as if it was attempting to ruin her night, Aurora’s striped socks began sliding down to her knee, forcing her to bend over just as the bass of the song drops. As soon as her hands grasped the tops of her socks she was weighed down by the same ominous feeling that gave her pause outside the club. This time, the feeling was so strong that it pulled her out of the cloudy haze of euphoria that the people around her were engulfed in. The tap of a hand on her shoulder causes her to spin around and meet the intoxicated eyes of her best friend.
“I’m going to go get a drink,” Aurora yelled to Lilly over the thump of the Jersey mix she had never heard before. “I’ll be right back!” She needed to drown out her anxiety. Unfortunately for Aurora, the bartender was behind on orders. He was running around pouring, shaking, mixing and serving to the best of his ability, but there was truly no way he could catch up to the overwhelming crowd of people surrounding the bar. Dejected, she realized that she was going to have to wait a little while if she wanted that Long Island Ice Tea- and she did.
Three club remixes had played while everyone else had gotten more drunk when suddenly a stool opened up at the bar. Aurora jumped at the chance to give her feet a break. She sighs in relief as her weight shifts off of her heels and onto the chair, but that relief is short lived. The moment she relaxed in the chair she felt a cold shiver run down her spine which was fully exposed in her backless, tiny, black costume. Instantly, Aurora’s gaze swept the foggy scenery of the dark club in search of the eyes she knew were watching her– they were in the room with her. She searched and searched the hot, sweaty bodies grinding all around her until she heard–
“What can I get for you?”
Aurora is forced to turn her attention to the bartender.
“Oh! A Long Island Iced Tea please,” she says, still slightly distracted.
While she waits for her drink to be made, Aurora finds herself interested in the TV hanging above the bar. She let her eyes wander to a large sign illuminating the word ‘Inferno’ in neon blue. That’s when she noticed that there was a second floor lounge area with a view of the entire club. Her thoughts were cut off as her eyes landed on a man behind the glass.
He sat with his legs spread, a glass full of dark liquor pressed against his lips, as he eyed Aurora from the elevated VIP section. He was incredibly intimidating: dark hair, dark eyes, dark suit- dark aura, and yet, Aurora found herself absolutely entranced by him. Who is he?
Aurora found herself feeling compelled to stand up. She needed to talk to him. Or if not, to see him up close. She made her way over to the stairs that lead to the VIP section, and away from the overbearing music of the dance floor. Their eyes remained locked her entire way up. The closer she got to him, the louder the alarm bells rang in her head but she couldn’t stop her feet from moving to where he was. Before she knew it, she had passed the velvet ropes. It was too late to turn back now. She took a few more steps forward to find herself directly in front of him.
He lifted the corner of his lips to offer a smirk. The motion revealed a small dimple, but she was only focused on his pouty, pink lips. Those same lips parted to reveal his deep, alluring voice,
“Hello.”

Oh, oh! I have an BkDk AU idea! A reincarnation AU idea! :D So, so! They were both lovers from Japan's warring states era, Daimyo Prince Izuku and his faithful bodyguard, Samurai Katsuki! :D Of course, they are secretly together, and they actually planned to run away with each other, because their obligations and all that fall onto Izuku.
But! Izuku's palace is attacked by a rival clan, and he and Katsuki are holes up in his secured chambers, Katsuki gravely injured, and informing his prince that everywhere is surrounded. He's pushing poison into Izuku's hand, telling him he will continue to take down enemies, but it doesn't look good, so...just in case...
But Izuku says he doesn't want to be alone...and if they must go into the next world, it will be together. At this end, he wants them to be together as the couple they are, and not as servant and master. Izuku brings out his tanto blade, and helps Katsuki sit up, so he may use his katana to commit seppuku, (the female way, because Izuku would not be strong enough to cut Katsuki's head off). They smile at each other, say I love you one last time and then they do the deed, together. So by the time they are found, they are already dead, in each other's arms, with smiles. :')
Fast forward to BNHA time, during their 1st to 2nd year in Middle school. Bakugou was still his bully, but not as bad, because something always held him back. So he's not as physical as he could be, (and he loses his shit when his so called lackeys do hurt Deku more than necessary). Izuku, on the other hand, takes the bullying more in stride, because he, too, feels like something is missing and this is only temporary. What makes them both remember is an incident, where they were both kidnapped, and it's jarring enough for Katsuki to remember his life as a samurai and for Izuku as his life as a Daimyo Prince.
And they refuse to be helpless again.
So, uh, long story short, they rescue themselves. Izuku, as the prince and as Katsuki's lover, orders him to train to be able to defend himself, and so they can both be heroes. To not go easy on him, just because of who he is. Katsuki kneels and swears on his loyalty and eternal love for his prince, that he will follow this order. They both train, and get fit for the UA exam! Izuku, now having the confidence of a Daimyo Prince, takes no shit from Aldera and Katsuki becomes more protective and stops hanging with the extras, (he's ashamed of himself! they have no honor). Oh, and when the sludge villain incident happens, Izuku and Katsuki have no trouble chewing out the Heroes who were going to practically let Katsuki die, (again).
IDK if this would be 'Izuku gets OFA' AU, but if he does, he is very much not impressed with All Night's advice, and neither is Katsuki. He figures the quirk out more easily, too, because he has the brains of modern!Izuku and the calmness and confidence of Daimyo Prince, Izuku. :)
And, uh. That's all I got so far, except for Katsuki incorporating a Katana into his hero outfit, and Izuku sticking to his Class Representative role. It's just like being a Prince again, but school! And yes, he appoints Katsuki as his bodyguard again, (and Kyoko as Momo's bodyguard :) He sees how she looks at her).
This is a very interesting idea. Thanks for sharing it! 😊

Re: Hold On, Hold On outtake. Hrgjgks academy squad depression book club and Momo's Book Opinions. To be fair I too am not immune to battle scenes where insides become outsides, lovingly described. If I can double dip deleted scenes I'm gonna ask about What We Do With Our Hearts.
Thank you!! My husband read a lot of David Eddings in his teen years, and I was a Mercedes Lackey girl, and the Kira-Hinamori literary feud is based very specifically on the way we lovingly rip each other for our respective tastes in trashy late 80s/early 90s fantasy.
Haven't had any Hearts requests yet, so here's a proto-version of Byakuya's childhood memory of his Memorable Outing with Grandfather.
🍃 🍂 ❄️
Grandfather smiled back, his mustache curving upward. “Alright, we’re here! Are you ready to answer some questions and show me how hard you have been studying?”
“Yes!” Byakuya grinned.
“Down at the bottom of the hill we just climbed, did you see the tunnel? Big enough for two carts to go through side-by-side?”
“Yes! There was a cart with vegetables coming through it!”
“Do you know where that tunnel leads?”
“Red Hollow Gate!”
“Exactly right! Now, look out that way, my boy!” Grandfather frowned. “Can you see past the wall?”
The big embankment they were standing on abutted the outer wall of the Seireitei, which protruded about a meter above the earth, presumably to keep people from toppling over the edge.
“Yes, of course,” Byakuya replied, going up on his tippy toes.
Grandfather raised an eyebrow at his efforts for a moment, before scooping Byakuya up and settling him on his shoulders. “There we go, is that a little better?”
“Yes! Thank you, Grandfather!”
“Look out. What do you see?”
“South Rukongai!” Byakuya declared, gently holding Grandfather’s soft, beautiful hair. He was extra careful not to pull.
“How did you know?” Grandfather asked, sounding skeptical, as though Byakuya must have cheated somehow.
“Because it’s the closest gate to our house! We walked away from Soukyoku Hill to get here, and if this were one of the other gates, we would have had to walk around it!”
“Very good,” Grandfather replied softly. “Now here is a hard one. What is that, out at the edges?”
From his lofty vantage point, Soul Society stretched out before Byakuya, painted in brilliant reds and golds, even though the leaves were only beginning to turn inside the city. The further districts dulled into brown, and at the edges of what he could see, a soft, white fog hung in the air, obscuring what lay beyond. Byakuya squinted at the mist, trying to figure out what it might be. “It’s clouds, Grandfather!” he realized. “It’s snowing!”
“That’s right!” Grandfather agreed.
“But it’s not even November!” Byakuya gasped. He couldn’t imagine it snowing so early.
“Winter starts early in the outer Rukon and moves inward,” Grandfather explained. “It’s very easy to see on a day like today, eh?”
“Will it be over earlier, too?”
“Later, actually. Winter is just longer on the periphery, and summer is as well. Here in the Seireitei, we get a long spring and autumn instead.”
“When will the snow get here?” Byakuya asked. “Tomorrow?” Already, grand visions of sledding and snowmen were filling his mind.
“It will be a few weeks yet,” Grandfather chuckled.
“They’re lucky,” Byakuya pouted.
Grandfather’s hands patted against his knees. “Rukon winters are long and harsh. They probably think you are very lucky to live here in the city, where the persimmons are still ripening.”
“I don’t like persimmons. They’re too sweet and they feel squishy in my mouth.”
“Ah, that’s right! Well, we have other nice things here. Chestnuts?"
Byakuya continued to gaze outward, imagining what other strange wonders Rukongai might contain. Byakuya himself had never left the protective ring of the city walls. He was still at an age where he occasionally conflated his geography lessons with his storybooks, and to him, the Rukon was the place where samurai traveled out to fight demons and rescue kidnapped princesses. “It’s so big,” he gasped.
“It is. It is vast,” Grandfather agreed. “It is impossible to protect, Byakuya, but it is our duty to try. It is easy to forget that.”
“Why can’t all the people there just move to the city?” Byakuya asked, wrinkling his nose.
“There are many reasons. The city is not big enough. The journey is dangerous. Most importantly, it is not proper for weak souls to linger in Soul Society. They have new lives awaiting them in the World of the Living. For them, Soul Society is like a road. A place to pass through. In fact, that is the entire purpose of Soul Society. We, those born of this place, are given power so that we can defend and preserve it.”
“Then why don’t we live out there, with them, then?” Byakuya suggested.
“Because there aren’t enough of us. In the city, we learn and train and grow strong, and teach our children how to carry on in our work. We also have many precious things that are kept in the city-- portals to the Living World, and all our knowledge in books and archives, and of course, our friends and families.”
“The people out there don’t have families?”
“They make little temporary families, but remember, they aren’t supposed to stay for long."

I know it’s doubtful that this will happen but I would really love to see Mo Guan Shan protecting He Tian from his brother and his lackey’s at some point in the next chapter. He just witnessed first hand how dysfunctional and detached He Tian’s family life is. It really has given him his first glimpse into the ‘darkness’ that He Tian referenced forever ago.
Tumblr media
At the very least I would love for Momo to scold both of them for their immature behavior.
Give ‘em one of these Guan Shan!
Tumblr media
And one of these!
Tumblr media
Like I said, doubtful this will happen but it would be nice to see Momo coming to He Tian’s rescue just a bit instead of the other way around like it usually is.

Hey Clyde, did you check out Wonder Egg Priority at all? The first ep is super promising, but the series as a whole is one of those real fascinating disasters from a story and a production standpoint that might be up your alley as a thing to pick apart haha.
I’d warn that it’s also reeeeal offensive and this generally gets worse as it goes though.
Hi, Phoenix! How are you and Cube doing?
Okay, I hadn't watched Wonder Egg Priority when I received your ask this morning. Now I have. In a fit of intense curiosity I settled down for a rare binge session and tore through all twelve episodes + OVA in a single sitting. It is now nearly 3:00am as I write this because I, oh so clearly, make fantastic life choices.
A question for you: what did I just watch?
The rest is going under a read more partly for spoilers, but more-so because WEP—and the summary I'm about to give, because I feel like I need to try and explain this to tumblr's faceless void for my own, dwindling sanity—comes with about every trigger warning under the sun. Seriously, if you are triggered by anything that we might think of as a "standard" trigger (meaning, not unique to you and your own experiences), best to proceed with caution.
Right! What the ever loving fuck happened in this show? Well, let's work through this chronologically. Two genius, frat boy brothers (I get their names mixed up so I'm not even gonna bother) are locked in their apartment and closely monitored because of Super Secret Science Research. Even though, I think, they're the ones who created this company. Not important! What is important is that they're bored enough to create an AI for funsies, thinking of her as their daughter and letting her name herself Frill. Frill is the perfect, cutesy, also genius child who has a habit of popping her lips — which the camera focuses on in an incredibly creepy fashion. One day Brother #1 (the hot one) falls in love with a random woman we know nothing about and Frill gets jealous.
"Jealous in a general sense?" you ask, thinking this show is in any way normal. "Like, just of her Dad giving attention to someone else?"
"No," I respond, patting your hand. "Jealous because she's in love with him." Which, beyond the subject matter itself, comes completely out of nowhere. Frill has a line about what you'd do if some woman stole your husband away. I, fool that I was, briefly considered that these two guys were lovers, not brothers. Oh no. They're brothers. Frill just considers Dad #1 to be her "husband."
So, in true evil AI fashion, she murders the wife, leaving only her newly born child behind. Who is a daughter.
Uh oh.
Dad #1 locks Frill in a coffin-esque hole in the basement and goes on with his life. Things are great! Until years later when the daughter reveals that she has fallen in love with her uncle (Dad #2 to Frill). She knows (somehow??) that both her dad and her uncle loved her mom, so if the loser uncle will just wait a few years he can marry her instead! He brushes her off, but the next day she’s found dead of an apparent suicide.
Realizing that this was somehow Frill’s doing, he marches down to the basement and confronts the murderous child they’ve had locked up for years. She’s now surrounded by screens in, again, true creep AI fashion. How did she get all this while she was locked up? Oh, just the three bug girls she created as friends prior to killing the wife. They’re devoted slaves, I guess. So the uncle says enough of this insanity and seemingly sets Frill on fire.
OH and Frill’s subtitled dialogue also puts “uncle” in quotation marks, implying that the daughter was always Dad #2’s??
Anyway, both brothers are now super obsessed with death and claim that they think Frill has had a hand in lots of girls’ suicides, even now after her own death. This is brought into question later when it’s revealed that they might have just concocted this scheme to try and bring back their daughter. I’m really not sure. Regardless, they use hand-wavey science to create eggs that I guess contain the souls of young girls who have committed suicide, then they sucker in other young girls who have lost people to suicide to try and rescue their loved ones in a dream world, saving others along the way. A tomboyish girl, Momoe, lost a classmate who admitted to loving her, but who Momoe rejected. Rika, a former junior idol, used and rejected an overweight fan only to learn later that she’d starved herself to death. Neiru, the 14yo president of some science company (yup) was attacked by her sister before she jumped off a bridge. Finally Ai, our protagonist, is a victim of bullying who managed to make friends with a single girl, Koito, who then jumped from their school building for unknown reasons. They’re all given the chance to bring these individuals back to life, provided they protect other victims of suicide by defeating the monstrous traumas that drove them to that act in the first place.
And you know what? That concept was great. However, the execution ranges from “Okay, that was pretty good for an anime. Kudos there” to “That’s the most offensive thing I’ve seen in my life.” Needless to say, unpacking all the battles they fight would take a lot more than this already absurd summary. Basically, if you can think of something horrible to happen to young girls (and one trans guy whose existence in that egg undermines the whole message of the episode), there’s an attempt to tackle it here.
During all this the four girls become friends and Ai works through her suspicions about Mr. Sawaki, a teacher at her school. What’s going on with Mr. Sawaki? Uh… everything! He’s somehow connected to Koito’s death, he’s dating Ai’s mom, and Ai apparently loves him too because her friends say so, even though this is never actually addressed and she barely interacts with him. It’s all quite the complication.
In time though the girls complete their “mission” of bringing their loved ones back to life. Rika and Momoe manage it first, only to find that Frill’s bug-girl lackeys have arrived to kill them. Why? Because that’s what Frill does, I guess. Momoe’s crocodile familiar (cute animals the girls were gifted to help them fight) takes a killing blow for her and the bug-lady then proceeds to carve up his corpse and force feed it to Momoe. Fantastic!! Building off of that, the next bug-lady who Rika encounters kills her turtle too, following in the footsteps of her bug-sister by, presumably, forcing her to eat parts of its head. Ai refuses to sacrifice her familiar to stay alive, but luckily the suicide she was protecting turns out to be herself from a parallel universe (that's a thing now!) and she takes the killing blow herself, which is done by pulling out the eye she’s sensitive about (she has heterochromia.) So parallel Ai passes on (again?) and the three girls don’t work through this trauma at all, instead becoming more traumatized through the realization that the loved ones they brought back no longer remember them. They’re alive, but the relationship they all had with them is dead.
It’s about this point that the main storyline wraps up and I’m relieved that there’s an OVA to finish things off. Surely they can somehow bring this all together in 45 minutes.
…25 minutes of that OVA is recap.
So with only about 20 minutes left, we learn that Neiru, the only one to not complete her mission yet, has mysteriously gone missing. It turns out she was an AI/clone/something all along, made to replace her sister and, presumably, that’s what caused the whole stabbing-suicide incident. She successfully brings her sister back, but stays behind in the dream world because Frill promises her she can become human. How is Frill here when she’s dead? How will Neiru become human? Isn’t Frill the “temptation of death” or whatever? There are no answers. A flashback finally reveals that Koito was having a relationship with a teacher at another school, he committed suicide, she transferred, she tried the same thing with Mr. Sawaki, he kept refusing her advances, and finally while threatening suicide to get his attention, she accidentally fell.
(So why was she in the suicide egg if it was an accident??)
Except, all this information comes through Mr. Sawaki himself, there’s a whole subplot about whether he’s really a villain, or if Ai is just making him into one, and this show might as well be titled How Much Pedophilia Can We Put into One Anime? So make of that what you will.
A dead character randomly shows up, but it's fine because she's actually just a version from a parallel world. How did she get here? Why is she here? Lol, it's cute that you think these are answered.
Rika, the character who cuts and almost committed suicide halfway through the show, breaks down saying how much she misses her dead loved ones, right after her friends refused to let her go on another mission that would surely end in her death and… that’s it. That’s all we get about her.
Momoe too, though she’s hopefully just vibing somewhere with that longed-for boyfriend.
Ai transfers schools and then one day randomly remembers that she loves Neiru and rushes back to start cracking eggs again because that will? Somehow?? Let her see Neiru???
When I say there are too many unanswered questions to possibly list here I really, really mean it.
Finally, in a personal attack on me, the protagonist with a name that is literally AI is not in any way an artificial intelligence.
And that’s it! Congratulations, you now “understand” WEP. And see, the funny thing is that the off-the-rails, bat-shit crazy aspects kind of catch you off guard? Yeah, the first episode is fantastic. In fact, I think I got through about six episodes thinking that this was a solid, if at times really messed up anime, but I was willing to shrug off a lot of stuff due solely to the amount of sensitive material they were attempting to cover (which is always quite difficult to do). Probably the only reason I was able to binge so fast was because the first half of the series was so engaging. The characters are charming. The animation is GORGEOUS. There's actually a ton of good here that is also worth yelling about. But then the plot comes in like a freight train and I was left staring dumbfounded at my screen as more and more insanity kept happening. Having watched the "explanations" I am now more confused about the show I just saw.
Phoenix, if you’ve bothered to read this rambling, 3:00am rant: thank you. I think? Idk if I should actually be thanking you or cursing you for tuning me into this, but it was definitely an experience, that’s for sure lol.
I'm off to bed now RIP the chance of having normal dreams ✌️

(Just rambling with no sleep pls don’t mind haha don’t reblog)
Imagining scenario with Momo talking about taking care of things etc etc working doing this and that and He Tian just putting his forehead on Mo’s while not saying anything.
To not 否定 what Momo is trying to do, imagining HT doing things in the BG while Momo doesn’t know to make things smoother for Momo. One day Momo will find out… some day he will realize what they were doing were out of love for Momo even while it’s so foreign for Momo to be that precious to other people (other than his mom/dad). One day they don’t have to hide it from Momo and Momo won’t see it as a form of reliance or weakness. Even if Momo can’t do some things by himself doesn’t make him invalid or worthless or lesser than other people. Having friends is not a weakness. Beating up people by yourself isn’t strength.
I want Momo to succeed and not feel sorry for himself. But also I want Momo to know he doesn’t have to be alone anymore and fight his battles alone, like he has since he was little.
Momo can take proactive action. He is very capable. He’s been doing that since he was small. His friends believe him. But also it doesn’t mean that nobody should help him and they should just watch Momo struggle in silence even while Momo himself is crying out and obviously putting on a brave front in front of a wall, refusing to be broken while he’s struggling inside, wondering why everything is so difficult.
His friends don’t want Momo to be hurt. To keep suffering. They want Momo safe and happy… share their happiness, even while Momo thinks he should not be a part of it. Maybe they don’t know what is “happiness” really for Momo but they want to find out… They want to be with Momo through happy times and also the bad times. They don’t want people hurting Momo.
When He Tian told Momo he’ll be his underling/lackey, it felt like He Tian knew how to make Momo not uncomfortable with him “protecting” him. He wants to be Momo’s knife and shield but the power is with Momo. Everything is for Momo.
I want HT to hold back SL while Momo tells him off lol. Or get him expelled with help from the three haha. Maybe Momo can get the courage to actually speak up for himself about what SL has been doing… maybe Mama Mo will get so worried she’ll barge in the school (T_T) or will He Tian move with a resolve Momo might hate him forever?
She Li will taunt Mo but maybe by then Momo can talk back to SL about it… more confident on where He Tian stands in his life… where his real friends are… then after Momo leaves HT will pull gangster stuff with Cheng and Qiu lol so SL and the others can never bother Momo ever again. Momo did his best. Momo will be like “hm I haven’t heard from them in a while” 🤣🔫 and Momo will be happy he was able to step up to move to solve his problem…
I want gangster stuff with Cheng and Qiu. What did He Tian ask from them in the dog chapter 🐶 I wanna hear the request 🐶

💗 Knight!Deku x Fragile!Reader
Medival AU
Dolls... That is All they ever saw in me. Quirks, some are a blessing, while others it's a curse. A prime example of that is the porcelain quirk.
Let me explain, the porcelain quirk doesn't appear at the age of 5. It can appear at any point in time in life. You could be 6 and it appears, or 70, and then it appears. But whenever it does appear you will remain that way forever till you die of a normal human life span. In my case, I'll look forever 17 even though I'm 25 now. The only drawback is you as fragile as porcelain, and you can break like glass. Though it is possible to be put back together, the cracks will forever remain no matter how much powder and makeup you put on.
Most noble and rich women would think It's a dream come true, but they're wrong. Anybody that has this quirk and is between 16 to 35yr old is highly valued in the black market.
There were a lot of stories I heard, of young women being stolen away from their homes. And brought here to be sold off to some noble as pretty decoration, or a way to show off their wealth, or used for their pleasures. Who wouldn't want a beautiful girl that will never grow old and ugly?
The cages were cold and lonely despite there being many of us. No one would talk to each other in fear of not knowing who would be next. I've only ever made one friend in that place. A beautiful girl named Momo. Like me, she was taken from her humble home and ended up here. Sadly she was sold away to a king Named Endeavor as a present for his youngest son. I hope she's okay.
Now I bet you're thinking, is there a way to escape such a fate, or even a way to escape at all. There are only two ways that I'm aware of. 1 the porcelain quirk either came too early or far too late. Second, if you were to get a Nik or some sort of crack, then you're automatically deemed worthless and are tossed aside. Nobody wants a cracked doll after all.
But believe me, they have ways of preventing their 'merchandise' from being damaged. -----
Argo the slave master and his goons were moving their wagon of merchandise through the forest late at night.
Inside the wagon was cramped but clean, and soft with mats, pillows, and blankets covering the floor and walls. Yet it failed to hide the barred windows and the shackles that bound their captives. All was quiet when the Wagon suddenly jolted to a stop.
"CAREFUL YOU FOOLS! You might have damaged the merchandise!" Argo yelled at his lackeys.
He quickly opened the doors to check on them. Seeing everyone was not harmed or chipped he smiled crookedly.
"Now now my pretties. Were almost at the kingdom Valmar. Where you'll be bought by new masters, behave and don't try anything funny. Then maybe I won't let my lackeys have a taste of you," Argo said as he licked his lips.
The captives shuddered at his words and tried to back farther into the wagon. Argo laughed at their obedience and slammed the doors shut.
"I-I want to go home," one girl sobbed as she slowly started to break down.
Tumblr media
"Hey SSH! You're going to get us in trouble," a boy scolded.
Tumblr media
I slowly blocked them out as I thought back on my life before my quirk appeared. Before this life.
"Y/n, look what mom made for me!" My dear friend Izuku called.
We were 7 years old when he showed me his first knight armor, his mother made him. He Idolized famous knights and adventurers. His favorite hero was The Lone Hero All Might. One could almost call him obsessed.
I remember all the times where we used to play out in the forest. He would be my knight in shining armor, and I would be his Princess.
"Aaah! Help me!" I cried out dramatically.
"I am here!" Izuku said with great bravery.
As he got older he was served to visit last as he went off training in a nearby Kingdom. But he always came back once a year to visit me and his family. Every time he visited, he'd always bring me back a rose. His face would be complete as he muttered incoherent things.
We never truly lost touch, cause he would always write letters to me about his day, and what he's seen. And I write letters back to him, nightly.
Then my 17th birthday. I woke up to the sun shining on my face as usual. But something felt off, my skin doesn't feel right. I quickly ran over to the Mirror and saw my face. My skin became milky white, all my sunspots and Imperfections were gone. My skin has never been this smooth. My eyes were a little larger, it really made my e/c eyes stand out more. My lips became Cherry pink, I look like a doll.
That was when I realized my curse, the porcelain quirk awakens Within Me. But I was optimistic, my mother had the porcelain quirk at 19 years old. And she was never stolen or captured by anyone. And my father protected her with all his heart, so I put those fears aside. When I revealed my transformation to my parents, they were shocked and slightly afraid. But the Embraced me I told me I will be okay and I will be protected.
When Izuku returned for my birthday his reaction was priceless. His face became cherry red, and he always tripped over his words. Eventually, he mustered up the courage to tell me I was the most beautiful lady he ever saw. And that when he became an official knight he'll make sure I'll never have to live my life in fear. I never felt so happy in my life, as a pulled him into a passionate kiss.
It happened a few months later. My family and Izuku were relaxing in the living room when suddenly there was a knock at the door. My father thought it was the Milkman so he decided to answer the door But was greeted with a knife to the stomach. Panic rushed over me and my mother, as we saw at 3 muscly looking men entering our house. Then a fourth Man came the slave leader, Argo.
Izuku still a knight in training pulled his sword out of its sheath and got into a defensive position. He stood between the men and us.
He tried to fight them off, Izuku did put up a pretty good and long fight. Until eventually lost due to being out numbered. They pushed Izuku to the ground, tied his hands behind his back, and quickly gagged him with a piece of cloth.
"Know, ladies.. we can do this the easy way or the hard way. Either hand yourselves over to us and the boy lives, or we've beheaded this boy and take you by force," Argo said as he sat on Izuku's back and putting a knight near Izuku's throat.
"NO!" I cried out as my mother held me back.
"HHMPH!!" Izuku tried to cry out through the gag to me.
"Don't Hurt Him," I begged.
"So what's it gonna be ladies the boy or you," Argo said with a twisted smile.
I began to tremble in fear as I looked at Izuku. He quickly shakes his head no, trying to tell us to not surrender ourselves to them as tears welled up in his eyes.
"We're sorry Izuku," I sobbed in defeat.
My mother and I step forward and were quickly chained up. Argo holding our leashes.
"NNNMPH! HHMMPH!" Izuku cried out as he tried to free himself from his bindings. Glaring daggers at Argo looked us over lustfully.
Very quickly we were forced into the wagon and that was the last time I ever saw our house and Izuku.
The wagon was ready to move until a voice called out from the darkness.
"HALT, EVIL SCUM!! IN THE NAME OF OUR KING GRAND TORINO, YOUR VILE ACT OF TRAFFICKING ARE OVER!!" Said a knight checked out and silver armor riding a brown horse.
Argo laughed at the lone knight.
"Oh yeah, you and what army," Argo chuckled.
Suddenly there is more light in the Darkness, it appeared to surround Wagon in all directions. From the darkness, an army of knights stepped out some on foot, others on horseback.
" surrender immediately!" Shouted another knight, this on a white horse.
"What are you fools looking at, ATTACK!" Argo shouted.
It was hard to tell what was happening outside, as everyone heard the fight happening outside. The scuffle lasted for a pretty long time, but eventually the struggling settle down. Everyone sat in silence as they waited, not knowing what's going to happen.
Suddenly the wagon door opened revealing a man in knight's armor. He had blue hair and rectangular glasses.
"Don't worry we're here to rescue you," he informed us.
Slowly but surely everyone was escorted off the wagon, one by one we were unchained. I was the last one to be unchained as I approached the knight with the keys, I heard a faint gasp.
"Y-y/n!" The knight shouted as he pulled me into a gentle yet strong hug.
I look at the knight in confusion as I watch him remove his helmet. Revealing My childhood friend Izuku. He definitely aged and grew over the last 8 years. I felt a little self-conscious, because of how short and young I looked compared to him. He was taller and looked more mature and looked so handsome.
"I finally found you, I found you y/n" has said as he pulled me into another hug.
"I-Izuku, I- I was so scared," I sobbed into his chest.
"I'm here now. And this time I'll keep you safe," Izuku whispered in my ear.
I kissed his cheek softly, as I hugged him. Izuku picked me up bridal style and placed me on his horse. He quickly pulled himself on the horse. As the other knights escorted the others to the kingdom. Izuku and I decided to return home instead.

top 20 favorite quirks
okay, but listen, though! it’s exactly what it says in the title. not best quirks, or most useful quirks, or most creative quirks. not even coolest quirks! I did try to take all of these things into consideration when choosing, but honestly? by far the most important factor was, “I JUST THINK THEY’RE NEAT.”
anyway but let me backtrack and post the actual ask.
Tumblr media
you’ll note that at no point was I asked to pick twenty of them. I did that all on my own. so here is my list!
20. Solid Air (Tsuburaba)
Tsubaraba Kousei. all-time undefeated grand champion of The Floor Is Lava. or at least he was until Ochako came along. anyway, so this is an extremely nifty quirk with all sorts of utility ranging from defense to helping him get around. it’s super useful for catching bad guys, and apparently the only real limit is his lung capacity. this quirk has so much potential and I love it.
19. Copy (Monoma)
the fact that he can copy his opponents’ powers and use them against them is badass enough, but add in the fact that he can hold up to 3 (or 4??) of them at once -- for as long as ten minutes -- and this quirk starts getting seriously powerful. anyway so one thing you might note as you read on is that although Copy is on my favorite quirks list, AFO is not! and that’s because Monoma’s limits actually make the quirk much more interesting to me, because they force him (and Horikoshi) to get creative. this is a really fun quirk and I would love to see more of Monoma in action. about time we saw him fight some actual villains and not just class 1-A, honestly.
18. Brainwashing (Shinsou)
as with Monoma’s quirk, what really sets this apart from other mind-control superpowers (to me, anyway) is the fact that it has limitations. he can’t just control anyone at random; in order to take them over he has to get them to respond to him somehow. which leads to innovations like the voice-changer, and which as a result has made his battles so genuinely interesting and fun to watch. anyway so I really want Shinsou to hurry up and join 2-A, and for them to just give him his provisional license all “here you go, son” with no testing whatsoever, because we’re past the point of pretending the HPSC is actually responsible these days, and because I really want to see if he can help turn the tides the next time the heroes battle the League.
17. Zero Gravity (Ochako)
I feel like it’s worth noting that I don’t really have any kind of fear of heights or falling or anything like that. and so I can’t really explain why Toga using this quirk on Ms. Curious and her lackeys was hands down one of the most singularly disturbing scenes in the entire manga for me! but it was!! even now I’m wincing just thinking about it. she just lifted them all up and DROPPED THEM and they just FELL and DIED. just like that. holy fucking shit. anyway, so we should all be very grateful that Ochako is super kind and sweet and more inclined towards helping people rather than murdering them. because holy shit. anyways though this quirk is dope.
16. Erasure (Aizawa)
I once said that this quirk was “not very cinematic”, and I don’t think I’ve ever been so wrong about anything in my life. oh, past me. you truly underestimated the dramatic impact of someone with a terrifyingly powerful quirk going in for the kill, only to be all “NANI?!” as they suddenly realize that their powers are no longer working, and the camera pans over to a man with gorgeous floating hair and intense red anime eyes. I owe you an apology, Erasure. you are cinematic AF.
15. Black Hole (Thirteen)
I really wish we got to see Thirteen fight more often. they suffer from the same “too powerful” curse as so many of the other characters and it’s a shame. anyway so Black Hole is cool af and gives me a ton of Miroku/kazaana vibes, which I freaking love. this quirk is lowkey on a Tomura-level of destructive potential, honestly, and yet no one ever talks about it?? Thirteen could literally destroy anything they touched if they wanted to?? imagine if they ever Awakened, you guys. holy shit.
14. Tape (Sero)
this power is so fucking stupid and ridiculous and completely absurd and I LOVE IT. Horikoshi really drew a skinny guy with tape elbows and was all, “so this kid is basically Spider-Man but with tape. I have not put the least bit of logical thought or creative effort into this power beyond that, and I’m not going to, either.” and somehow we all just accepted it. anyway, dubious origins aside, it’s such a versatile ability and Sero has such amazing control over it. it’s offense; it’s defense; he can use it to set traps; he can use it for maneuverability. TAPE ELBOWS CAN DO IT ALL.
13. Outburst (Ms. Joke)
when will it finally be her time. Outburst is one of those powers that sounds super dumb at first, until you really stop and think what the ability to make someone laugh at will could actually DO to people. true uncontrollable belly laughter is a totally incapacitating thing. she’d have people collapsing to the ground and practically seizing up. and good luck using your own quirk to fight back when you’re doubled over struggling to breathe and can’t even see straight because of the tears in your eyes. that’s assuming any of her opponents are even capable of thinking straight long enough to try it. like, this is such a straight up brutal ability and the fact that we have still NEVER SEEN IT is honestly infuriating.
12. Glamour (Camie)
it’s an illusion quirk. of course I have to put it on my list. illusion powers make every battle approximately 100x more entertaining. and what makes this particular power even better is that in any other series, this quirk would have been given to some Tokoyami-esque super serious emo kid. but BnHA went and gave it to Karen from Mean Girls instead. what a fucking power move. goddamn.
11. Black (Kuroiro)
according to BnHA Ultra Analysis, Kuroiro’s Appearing Out of Nowhere skills are rated a 4 out of 6. I still haven’t figured out if this is meant to be a burn on him or not. this kid can ninja in and out of literally any dark object in existence. if it’s nighttime, that means he can basically move wherever he wants to at will. of course he’s skilled at Appearing Out of Nowhere. so tell me then, why is it ONLY a four out of six?? how could he possibly fuck this up?? who was grading him?? DOES HE JUST SUCK. I don’t know, but anyway it’s really funny to me and also I really love this quirk.
10. Transform (Toga)
Toga went and Awakened herself right into the top ten with the reveal that not only can she mimic other people’s appearances, but that while she is transformed, she can actually use their quirks. like excuse me, what?? holy shit??? it is honestly driving me crazy that we’ve only seen this in action once. Transform is basically Plot Twist: The Quirk. I really want to see Toga use it to its full potential and infiltrate U.A. and/or spy on the HPSC and/or murder someone with their loved one’s own quirk. I WANT HER TO GIVE SOMEONE THE MAES HUGHES TREATMENT. I want her to do something so shocking that people ragequit the fucking manga lol. I know I’m always saying the manga isn’t that dark, but this is honestly the one exception where I would freaking love for it to get dark as shit. anyway so yeah. if you want to fuck with people you really couldn’t ask for a better quirk.
9. Creation (Momo)
MACGUYVER: THE QUIRK. an unlimited inventory in the hands of someone brilliant enough to actually utilize it to its full extent. what’s not to love? honestly if it were me with this quirk it would be completely useless. not only would I get hopelessly bored two seconds into trying to memorize an object’s molecular structure or whatever, but even if I DID manage to figure out how to make stuff, I would never know what to do with the stuff, or when to use it. every time a new situation cropped up I would just create a bunch of random objects in a panic. but Momo is so elegant in her problem-solving that she often needs to create only one or two things to come up with the perfect solution for something. basically this is a good quirk that becomes a truly great quirk when placed in the hands of the best possible person in the world to wield it. the quirk is awesome because Momo is awesome, and I fucking adore quirks like that (see: next entry).
8. Permeation (Mirio)
ah, Mirio. the original victim of the “too powerful to be allowed” curse. remember that time he BEAT HALF OF CLASS 1-A IN UNDER SIX SECONDS, you guys.  small wonder Horikoshi couldn’t even make it through one complete villain fight with him before he had to de-quirk the poor kid. anyway, so Mirio makes this quirk look so mind-blowingly awesome that it’s easy to forget what a terrifying and fucked-up power it is in reality. “yeah it makes me blind and deaf and if I’m not careful I’ll fall into the center of the earth or splice myself in two or some shit.” what the actual fuck Mirio. but because he’s worked so hard and because Nighteye trained him so well, he’s mastered the timing to such an insane degree that he could kick Overhaul in the face without harming a single hair on Eri’s body. and honestly, there’s no way I could not love a quirk that gave us a moment like that.
7. Warp Gate (Kurogiri)
unlike SOME OTHER PEOPLE whose names start with Kuro, I would bet you that Kurogiri’s Appearing Out of Nowhere skills are a full six out of six! alas, the top ten of this list is chock full of people whose quirks are so badass that they had to be written out of the story one way or another. with Kuro at large there was technically nothing stopping the villains from just dropping in on U.A. one night to kill All Might, or rekidnap Bakugou, or whatever else they might want to do. and that’s actually a really scary thought though lol so it’s no wonder that Horikoshi was all, “yeah I’ll just have them capture him now.” anyways do you guys remember that one time in chapter 18 when Kuro used Warp Gate to create an endless loop of All Might suplexing Noumu suplexing All Might?? fucking quirks, though. wild.
6. Fiber Master (Best Jeanist)
another badass quirk, another badass quirk-user incapacitated and taken out of the story before their time. Best Jeanist is honestly terrifying. if he wanted to he could immobilize and even strangle and kill pretty much anyone in the world, whenever he fucking felt like it. that alone would be crazy enough, but then add to that that this quirk for all intents and purposes is basically telekinesis. as long as someone is wearing clothing he can move them around however he wants, as we saw in Kamino. basically, everything Hawks can do with Fierce Wings, Jeanist can probably do with his own quirk. AND THAT INCLUDES FLYING, YOU GUYS. the more I think about it the more I think we truly were robbed. I need Jeanist to come back already and fly everyone at Jakku to safety and tie Tomura to a chair with his own cape before proceeding to style his hair.
5. Rewind (Eri)
IT’S MY LIST!! I CAN PUT WHATEVER I WANT, AND IF YOU SAY I CAN’T, I’M TELLING MOM. okay but listen. everyone always rags on this quirk and how stupidly powerful it is, and look, I get it. but isn’t it kind of interesting that everyone is also always speculating over who Eri is eventually going to heal with her quirk? like, fandom is always complaining about how broken it is but at the same time they’re out here hatching all of these wild theories that center around it. and to me that indicates that in truth, this is actually an awesome quirk -- just so long as it’s used right. obviously there have to be some major limitations or else this is just “Fix Everything: The Quirk.” thankfully, Horikoshi did limit it! it’s super dangerous, she has trouble controlling it, and most importantly, it’s ridiculously slow to recharge and so she can only use it once every few months. it’s basically Recovery Girl’s quirk with a bonus slow-replenishing stamina bar that, once charged, allows her to release one ultra-powerful SUPER HEAL special move. and that’s pretty awesome. basically I think this quirk gets too much hate and not enough credit for the additional menu options it adds to the story. it’s interesting and compelling and I can’t wait to see what Horikoshi does with it.
4. Dark Shadow (Tokoyami)
TOKOYAMI WHY IS YOUR QUIRK SENTIENT. Existential Crisis: The Quirk. do quirks have souls?? if you shot Tokoyami with a quirk-be-gone bullet would Dark Shadow fucking die??? if Tomura absorbed Tokoyami’s quirk would Dark Shadow grow out of his back and be all “hey um, who the fuck are you”?? and would Toko’s head turn back into a normal human boy head?? would Dark Shadow look like Tomura instead of a bird shadow?? what even IS Dark Shadow, actually?? obviously it is not just a shadow because shadows can’t punch people or shield people from attacks or pick people up and fly them around. but yet he’s afraid of fire and grows weaker in daylight?? is Tokoyami secretly the strongest character in the entire series?? is there any way I can possibly justify putting this quirk all the way down at #4 instead of #1 where it clearly belongs?? let me answer that question by not answering it and moving on.
3. Explosion (Bakugou)
is the fix in?? is “exploding hands” really a better quirk than a fucking sentient monster man who lives in your belly button and reads your mind and is made of ~darkness energy~ and is your best friend? apparently the answer is yes! to both of those questions. yes the fix is in. I love Kacchan and his quirk is fucking awesome okay. it just never ceases to amaze me how this one single quirk, which really only does one thing, is nonetheless so spectacularly powerful that it allows Bakugou to compete on the same level as the fucking protagonist with all of his godlike super-strength and Main Character Powers and wacky SIXQUIRKS!! shenanigans. in my opinion the coolest thing about Explosion isn’t even its firepower; it’s the way Bakugou’s adapted it to fly around and to boost his speed. I think he legit may be the fastest character in the series right now, or close to it. he’s faster than Iida and Gran Torino and Endeavor. he can keep up with Deku without breaking a sweat. and he knows how to use that speed, thanks to his insane reflexes. add in the fact that this is also without a doubt the most cinematic quirk in the entire series, and I think I’m justified in putting it this high up. and anyway I still put two others up above it so shh.
2. Search (Ragdoll/Tomura)
Hey, What’s That Guy’s Deal: The Quirk. I just really love this one you guys. it’s so fucking useful. Video Game HUD: The Quirk. one hundred people at a time?? locations and weak points?? works even when you’re not looking at the person anymore and have blinked your eyes, unlike CERTAIN OTHER PEOPLE’S weak-ass quirks?? check, check, and check. is it any wonder AFO wanted this? plus it just looks so damn cool. the visual representation of everyone as little stars on a map. Turn On Location: The Quirk. okay look I feel like I’m doing a bad job of explaining why I have this quirk all the way up at number two. it just has this subtle badassness to it, and its introduction after almost two hundred chapters of buildup was just so fucking cool. maybe it’s recency bias?? I don’t even know; all I know is that I love this quirk and want to see more of it in action.
1. Blackwhip (Lariat/Deku)
listen, I was obsessed with this quirk back when it was called “Venom” and was by far the absolute coolest part of the 1990s Spider-Man cartoon series. I’m not just going to suddenly not be obsessed with it just because fandom is mad that Horikoshi gave Deku an additional power beyond just Smashing Stuff. Blackwhip is hands down the coolest quirk, guys. I’m sorry, it just is. it has the coolest name. it had the coolest entrance. it does basically anything you could ever want a quirk to do in battle. it grabs stuff. it Bloops. what more do you want. you’re all just jealous because you wish that you could Bloop too. I know I am. I wish I had a Bloop. anyway so yeah, Blackwhip is the upgrade to Deku’s fighting style that we desperately needed after 200+ chapters of Delaware Smashes and Broken Bones. all his fights are cooler now. he can save more people! he can fight without instantly dying! plus you just gotta love powers that occasionally explode out of control if their user gets all emotional and pissed off about the fact that you insulted his boyfriend. so yeah. Blackwhip at number one! on this list of favorite quirks. not best quirks!! jesus christ. please don’t kill me I have a family.
so that’s my list! all 3000 words of it. how does this keep happening.

Liquid Villain
Liquid Villain by virirex
( liquid villain ) summary: Izuku froze as he felt the unmistakable needle of a syringe be forced into the side of his neck, and felt his heart drop. He felt a kick connect with his back and he stumbled, dropping to his knees. The villain that had injected him laughed, and threw the now-empty syringe to the side. "DEKU!" Someone was yelling his name. Who was that? His head was pounding, and everything sounded like it was underwater. However.. he knew what this was. Liquid Villain. A new drug that drove the victim to insanity within minutes; and when used on powerful people, like Izuku himself, they were effectively turned into that of a supervillain. There was no cure as of now, since it only rose to trouble a few weeks prior. -- In which pro-hero Deku is caught off-guard in a battle with the new villain Plasma - He didn't notice when one of the villain's lackeys snuck up behind him with a small needle that would change everything.

Request: MomoJirou prompt! Jirou gets gravely injured protecting/saving Momo from danger!
Tumblr media
Ah, yes! The angst and pain over the safety of a loved one~! Happens to be one my specialties, Anon!
Trigger Warning: Violence, Blood/ Gore
Rescue work was something that Jirou had a handful of experience with. She’d done her part during a hostage situation while doing her internship in her first year at UA. Her second year, she’d done her work study with a more general Heroics agency, working directly under a Pro named Genre Hopper. He was a fun Pro to work under, whose Quirk was that his fighting style changed based on what type of music he was listening to. He had taught her a lot about how to adjust her fighting style to prepare for the unexpected, and she was grateful for everything he taught her.
For her third year, though, she’d decided to join her girlfriend, Momo, and check out an agency that focused on rescues exclusively. They handled hostage situations, natural disasters and villain attacks. The agency was led by a Pro named Snowdrift, whose Quirk was Snow Leopard. Her ears, fangs, tail, and legs were feline in nature. She tended to only be around during the cooler weather, showing up at the tail end of September and then leaving in mid-March, as her body was better adjusted for cooler climates, to tend to business at a few agencies she operated in other countries. On the first day while they filled out their work study paperwork, she offered them some insights about how to manage multiple agencies, travelling, and things like that, as well as talking to them about priorities in regards to rescue missions while they were working with her agency.
“Your priority is always, first and foremost, any civilians caught in a disaster,” she said, holding up a finger, “and after that, focus on any other Pros that have been caught in the disaster; especially in the circumstance of the disaster being caused by a villain and their Quirk. As Pros, we’re better equipped to handle dire situations for longer than a civilian can. When it comes to this particular line of Hero work, your focus is always going to be doing what you can to save people. Property damage and ass-pats from reporters will come secondary to that.” She reached up with one finger and poked at three long, jagged scars running down the side of her face, starting just an inch below her right eye and curving all the way down to the hinge of her jaw. Her blue eyes lit up with amusement and she flashed them a cheeky grin. “And trust me, if you do your job right, you’ll get lovely little warning signs like these ones here. Warns future villains just what kind of Hell you can unleash and puts the fear of your name in’em!”
Jirou had decided she liked her right then, but Snowdrift just kept providing reasons to enjoy working for her. Unlike with her time working under Genre Hopper, who treated her like a student and kept her on a tight leash, Snowdrift tended to let them take charge more often than not. She gave them their patrol routes, when they were scheduled, and let them take it from there. It was strange for she and Momo to have a Pro outside of their teachers put so much faith and trust in them. “You’re on the cusp of stepping into the business proper,” Snowdrift answered when they asked, skimming through a file they’d brought her and grinning as she did. While on patrol, they'd caught a small gaggle of bank robbers but needed her sign off regarding the arrest since they were still considered students. She tugged a pen out of one of the little pouches on her belt loop, clicked out the tip, and signed off easily. “I trust you understand what that means, or else you two wouldn’t still be in your program. You may still be students, but you aren’t children, so I’m not gonna treat you as such.” She had said, offering the file back over to them with a grin still in place.
For the first few weeks, they mostly dealt with basic patrols. But then they got a call; an unexpected snow storm had started up near a campground where a group of middle schoolers were having a class trip. Snowdrift yanked her thermal cape and clawed gloves on when they got the call before turning to face her staff. “Creati, Earphone Jack, Heat Wave and Earth Shaker, you’re coming with me in Squad 1! Page Editor, I want you to lead Squad 2 and see what kind of recon you can get for us!” she barked out, motioning the others to follow her.
“Yes ma’am,” Page Editor called back, giving a brief salute before turning to call over two other sidekicks to join him.
They headed out in an armored vehicle that had been designed to handle the tough terrain of backwoods and such, as well as being designed to house up to thirty disaster victims. They were within the camp site in a matter of minutes, with Snowdrift and Heat Wave leaping out the second they could see the site up ahead. The snow storm seemed to intensify as the two Heroes made their approach. Earth Shaker took the vehicle up to the site, turning it and backing it closer to the campsite. Jirou and Momo scrambled out with a few thermal blankets in their arms, flocking over to the students clustered around Heat Wave. His Quirk was that he could amplify his own internal temperature to reach high temperatures that he could then channel out through small spouts all over his arms and legs. The middle schoolers were all crowding around him, their teeth chattering as they held their hands up towards the warm air coming off of him.
“Here,” Jirou said, carefully pulling one thermal blanket from her arms and draping it over a nearby student.
“T-Thank you,” she choked out, offering a shaky smile. Jirou nodded, offering a small smile, before darting to help distribute the rest of the thermal blankets. Earth Shaker darted over and clenched her hands to move the ground hidden below the layers of snow, forcing them up and over to form a dirt tunnel. It helped to keep out the chill and keep in some of the heat that Wave was generating.
“Get them into the vehicle and situated immediately; they need to be warmed up something fierce. Page Editor, any word on where this is coming from?” Snowdrift directed, pausing to click the little head set hooked to her ear.
“Well, it’s one of those good news, bad news situations, boss,” Page Editor’s voice chimed over the channel, his voice a little distorted due to either distance or the weather conditions.
“I take it the good news is that you know what’s causing it. Or, rather, who is causing it, but I'm guessing that's also the bad news," she answered, one hand settling on her hip as a small sigh escaped her.
“Bingo. Looks like we’ve got a few of the League’s little lackeys causing this trouble,” he agreed.
Snowdrift let out a swear, kicking at some snow under her paws. “Just great! Anyone of particular note?”
“There’s the one creating this storm, who has been a bigger player for them for a while now. Looks like that lizard guy who has been running with them since early on is there, too, but other than that they’ve got three untested. Most likely just some bruiser-type lackeys here to play rough if we get too close,” Page Editor explained.
“Any indicators as to what kind of Quirks those three newbies are toting?”
“One of them looks like some kind of minotaur sort of guy; got the horns and a nose ring and everything. The other two just look like high school punks, but nothing too particular to pick up on with them from the distance I'm at. One of them seems real bothered by the cold, though, so that might give us something,”
Snowdrift hummed thoughtfully. “If the League is leading this charge, they have to be up to something. Editor, I want you to send word out to any other agencies in the area for back up. If you can get Hawks, Endeavor, or both of them on the line, they’d be preferred. They may be a showboater and a jackass respectively, but they’re effective and have experience dealing with the League,” she instructed before turning her attention back to her team. She motioned Momo and Kyoka towards her, leaning down a bit and keeping her eyes on the line of evacuating students. “If I had to wager a guess, the League is targeting at least one student here in specific. May be a kid with a particularly remarkable Quirk that they think would be of benefit to them.”
“So we’re going to have to get the kids out of here immediately, and prepare for the League to pursue,” Momo commented.
The older woman smirked and nodded. “Spot on. Heat Wave and Earth Shaker can manage well enough with the vehicle. The two of you have had some run-ins with the League of Villains before, yeah?” she prompted. They both nodded and her smirk widened. “Perfect. The plan is going to be that we hold them at bay. I’m pretty unperturbed by the colder temperature and the sleet, so I’ll see if I can’t dispatch the one making this flurry. I want you two to stay down here and keep the other members of their little posse from going after Wave and Shaker if they make their way down here.”
“Yes, ma’am!” they agreed eagerly.
She chuckled and nodded, moving to stand upright as the earth barrier began to crumble around them. “Take whatever measures you feel are necessary to incapacitate or nullify your opponents; I trust both of your judgment. Remember that your priorities are the civilians and each other, stay alert, and I know you’ll make those villains fear your names. Creati, Earphone Jack,” she said, offering a fond grin before she turned and tore off in the direction of where the heaviest of snow was plummeting down from.
It was less than five minutes later that the three rookie League members arrived.
There was the minotaur character that Editor had warned them about with either of the other two perched on a shoulder. They were both dressed in proper winter attire with wild hair and piercings. One of them had a neon green mohawk that had particularly stiff looking yellow streaks in it. If she wagered a guess, she thought those streaks might actually be something akin to spines since, unlike with just gelled hair, they were completely unfazed by the storm whipping around them. The other’s hair was long and composed of pastel shades of yellow, pink and blue in nonsensical patches. Despite the storm, their hair wasn’t tied back and whipped around them like a colorful flurry, somehow matching well with the manic grin and rusty pipe they were sporting.
“Well hello there, little heroes!” They shouted, hopping off the minotaur’s shoulder and beaming at them. Through their bangs, a pair of violet eyes with a black spiral pattern branching out from the pupil and intermingling with the hue of the iris were visible.
“Who are you calling little?” Kyoka scoffed, carefully moving her feet to be better grounded.
“You don’t seem to be any other than us,” Momo agreed with a small frown of her own.
The villain sneered at them, eyes fixating on the taller of the pair as they responded. “I may be the same age, but I’m nothing like you idiots! I know what the world is really like and I’m ready to tear the status quo of this shitty world to ribbons!”
The other rookie shifted, nudging the minotaur with the heel of their boot. Minotaur seemed to understand the unspoken request and reached out to help them slip down carefully. “Hey, Kie, can we hurry this up? I can’t stand it out here!” they whined out loudly, pitch rising and dragging out their words at the tail end.
Kie, as they were called, snorted and glared at their associate. “Ugh, what kind of man are you, Suoh? So fucking annoying!” they shouted back. They then indicated Minotaur with the flail of one arm. “You don’t see Oda whining like a little bitch! Your sorry ass could stand to take some points from him!”
“Oda doesn’t talk in general. And like you’re one to talk about acting your gender. You’re supposed to be a polite young lady and instead you’ve got a mouth on you that could make an inmate blush,” Suoh groused back quietly, shuddering as he hunched his shoulders in on himself. While the two of them argued, Jirou stole a glance at Yaomomo. The other met her gaze before glancing between the pair, staring particularly at Suoh, and then at Kie purposefully. The two of them had gotten so good at working together that barely a word needed to be exchanged.
She shifted her earlobes down towards her amps discreetly, keeping her eyes trained on them. Oda, as the minotaur man was called, seemed preoccupied with watching his associates as they bickered, the pair ready to come to blows. Kie suddenly jolted to attention and whipped to face them, the black spirals of their eyes turning. “Oda, it’s play time!” she squealed excitedly while pointing at Momo.
Oda perked up before letting out a low snort and running around his associates and heading straight for her. Momo barely had enough time to conjure up a shield for herself before the other was ramming his long, jagged horns towards her. He hit with enough force to dent the shield and send her skidding back through the snow a few paces before she managed to get enough grounded to shove him back and dart over towards Jirou. “Earphone, now!” she shouted as she rushed toward her.
“Cover your ears, boys!” Kie shrieked with manic glee before clamping her hands down over her own just as Jirou’s earlobes connected with the amp. The two did as she said as a loud, rattling sound wave came from her. They didn’t have protective gear that would keep them completely safe, but the forewarning the other had given them certainly helped. When the sound wave died away, Oda shook his head with a small huff, his large ears flicking in irritation. “Pretty shitty that I know what you’re planning to do, huh?” the young villain goaded, cocking her head at them.
“Earphone, I’m pretty sure that-!” Creati started to say between small pants.
“Bingo, sweetie! You’re on the right track!” she mused happily, tapping at her temple.
Suoh rolled his eyes. “Your Quirk isn’t hard to figure out once you start using it,” he groused at her. He then reached up to grab at the stiffer portions of his hair, snapping it and producing a long spike. A part of Jirou was proud to know that her guess had been correct, but her eyes flickered back over to the female. They knew what all three of their Quirks were, now, which did a lot, but that girl, Kie… She posed a very different kind of threat.
It was clear she had some kind of mind reading Quirk. The moving black swirls in her eyes seemed to be an indicator of when she was using it, but they still had no idea what the limitations were on it. How long could she keep that up for? And how far was the reach for it? Was it like Aizawa-Sensei’s Quirk, where she had to have her eyes on the target? Or could she focus on multiple targets at once? She stole a glance over at Momo and could see she was staring Kie down as well. Her brows were knit in frustration, a clear indicator that she was thinking very hard about something.
Kie cocked her head again at Yaoyorozu, letting out a small amused puff. “Do you really think that just reciting your homework over and over will work to beat out my Quirk? You’ll have to think about what you’re doing soon enough, you stupid little bitch,” she growled out lowly, smacking her lead pipe down hard in her other palm.
Jirou’s eyes widened a bit as she looked between her partner and the villains. Momo was painting a target on herself specifically to get them some more answers. From this, Jirou could deduce that she could only handle one target at a time. After all, she’d been focused on Momo from the minute they’d shown up and only took action when, presumably, the other was thinking about their strategy. This must mean that they had some amount of intel about what to expect, had known that one of Creati’s greatest strengths was her ability to strategize. If they took that ability away from her, though, they could try to back them into a corner.
She was snapped from her musings when Oda charged at her, narrowly avoiding him by dodge-rolling off to the side. Oda stood between she and Momo now, head dipped as he readied for another charge. Behind him, she could see Kie’s form making a mad dash from Momo, Suoh moving to join her. She’d been expecting the divide and conquer approach to be the method they picked, given there was more of them with Snowdrift trying to get the other member of their team. So, Jirou thought with a growl, she’d need to get this guy out of the way as quickly as possible to even the odds. Her gaze flicked over to the twitching bull ears on his head. She needed to test her theory to see if it was plausible.
As she dodged two more lunges from the minotaur, she managed to change the settings on the left boot speaker. With that done, she slipped one earlobe into it and sent out a sound current, though this was of a slightly higher frequency. She had tinkered with the idea of finding ways to adjust the pitch of her sound waves to diversify her fighting style a bit. Up until the thought occurred to her, she’d mostly just relied on the volume of the sound to get the job done. She watched as the other’s ears twitched frantically before he shook his head, dark eyes sparking bright with anger.
With that theory tested and proven, she knew how to get him down.
It was a struggle to adjust her setting after that. It seemed he had realized that she was looking for something to exploit to beat him. If it came to a matter of physical strength alone, he’d wipe the floor with her in seconds. And if he kept her playing the dodge game, she wouldn’t be able to enact her plan. She managed to get a few more sound waves off to at least disorient him a bit to try and get the settings up higher, to a more grating level.
But then she heard the distinct thump of metal making contact with skin and stole a glance over just in time to see Momo's form slumping toward the ground. Oda took the chance to rush her again, a snort from him snapping her back to focus. She twisted to move away, but was a step too late, the jagged tip of his horn colliding with the hinge of her jaw and dragging along the bone up to her chin. She had to bite her tongue hard to keep from crying out as her skin was sliced through, the sensation of bone on bone with how deep in he'd gotten agonizing. She spun and hit the ground, taking in a shuddering wheeze as she watched blood pour steadily to paint the snow beneath her, fingers digging into the slish for some kind of support. If she fell over then she'd definitely be done for. He snorted again, moving behind her slightly, but she seized the chance she'd been given.
She whipped around and chucked a sizable stone hidden beneath the snow at him, catching him in the eye and causing him to stumble back with a feral shout. With her other hand, she adjusted the settings one final time, then let out the loudest of the sound waves she could produce. She'd approached Kouda once to ask about ways to ward off animals outside of just volume of a sound. He had suggested she take frequency into account as well, since there were pitches that only animals could hear and that would distress them.
Smug satisfaction coursed through her as the villain stumbled back with a furious shout, reaching up to clamp his hands down over his ears. She took the chance to dart towards him, leaping and digging the heel of her boot right into his head. He hit the ground hard, going as far as trying to burrow his head into the snow to escape the sound, and she gave another two firm kicks to his head.
When he went limp, she whipped around and rushed towards where Momo had been fighting off the other two. Kie had her back to her, lead pipe raised to strike again, and Jirou threw herself into her. She looped her arms around the other's stomach and tossed her aside with all her strength. She hit the ground and went tumbling a few feet away with a series of displeased swears. Jirou whipped around to locate the third one, Suoh, before a jabbing pain seared into her right side. Her body tensed as she glanced down, seeing the villain in question kneeling before her, two of his quills piercing clean through Jirou.
His chest was heaving and blood was dripping from his left temple. His right ankle was also clearly cracked, the foot itself  tilted at an odd angle with gore and bone peeking out. The wrist of the hand twisting the quills into her side was also red and looked swollen, while the left arm was wrapped around his own stomach, clearly trying to soothe some kind of ache as he took in laboured breaths.
Momo had clearly given them Hell before they got her down.
She seized his bad wrist to wretch his grip off the quills and yank him to the side, eliciting a pained shout from him, and slammed the hand speaker on her other hand into the side of his face. She made sure to aim for where she'd seen the blood and swallowed hard when he went limp from the blow. She then turned around, yanking out the quills in her side and lashed out with them. She clipped Kie in the face with them as the other approached.
"You bitch!" Kie screeched, stumbling back a step before making a mad charge at her again.
Jirou anticipated it and braced herself for the impact, the two of them tumbling into the snow in a mess of limbs flailing to land blows. She kept her grip on the quills and managed to pierce one through her attacker's hand, who retaliated by elbowing her in the wound along her jazz. Her vision went white for a split second at the searing pain but she reminded herself that she couldn't give up.
For Momo's sake, she couldn't let this little monster take her down.
They grappled briefly, both worn out from the fight, but Jirou managed to get behind the other and wrap an arm firmly around her neck. "Y-You gonna kill me, Hero?" Kie sneered, clawing at her arm frantically. She dug her nails in hard enough to break the skin, leaving jagged bleeding marks in her wake.
"Putting you down for a fucking nap, you overgrown toddler!" she snapped back, pulling back with more force and using her other arm to help her maintain the hold and pressure. Kie squirmed and thrashed for a little longer, but her movements slowed until she was limp. Jirou shoved her aside, watching her roll face first into the ground. She swallowed hard and the taste of copper tickled the back of her throat.
But, she noted as she took to her feet shakily, the snowstorm had died down. She hobbled her way over to Momo, her movements languid as her the adrenaline coursing in her veins started to dwindle. She fell to her knees beside the other's prone form, cautiously reaching towards her to guide her from her side to her back. There was blood on the side of her head and trickling down the side of her face, as well as some smaller defensive wounds on her arms. Ultimately, though, it was clear she'd been doing well against both opponents until they landed that head blow. She was still breathing, too, which had her breathing much easier herself.
"Little miracles make all the difference," she panted softly, reaching out to gently grip one of Momo’s hands in her own. She then reached up to tap at her headset with her free hand. "Earphone Jack to Snowdrift. Come in, Snowdrift."
There was static for a moment before a small click. "Snowdrift in. How are things on your end, Earphone Jack, Creati?" The Pro's breathing was labored but she sounded pretty composed other than that.
"The three here have been knocked out for easier arrest. Creati and I took a good beating though," she managed to get out, shaking her head as spots started to appear in her vision. She hoped her words didn't sound as slurred to Snowdrift as they did to her. "Creati took a hard blow to the head and is unconscious. I've got a lot of blood loss from some puncture wounds."
"Earphone Jack, I can barely understand you. Are you okay?" Snowdrift asked, voice becoming stiff with concern.
"Lots of blood," she managed to wheeze out, body sagging slightly.
"Wait, blood? Is it yours and Creati's?" she asked frantically. "Shit! Page Editor's on his way down! Hawks, get your sorry ass down there, too! Earphone Jack, stay with me! Keep talking until they get there!"
Jirou tried to open her mouth to answer, but the exhaustion that had been creeping in became too much. She felt her body slump into the snow, barely registering the whine she released as cold snow jabbed into the gouge on her jaw.
"Earphone Jack? Earphone? Damnit, Jirou Kyoka, answer me!"

"Mating Press" Villain!Deku with Momo
7
Here is where Momo’s debut of being Deku’s new cumdump would begin. After taking the building hostage with his lackeys he went up stake where Momo was and before she could do anything he had her dress ripped off until she was naked and pinned her onto the ground. “H-Hey! What are you do-Ah~!” Momo’s long slim legs stretched up behind his back as Izuku pushed his cock into her. She let out a long moan as her pussy was penetrated by the villain who in turn began to thrust down into her. “S-Stop! Get o-off~ me you.. ah~! Villain~!” She started moaning out as his hips slammed down onto hers in the press.
“Sorry Momo but no. As the daughter of some powerful people. Nnng... I have to show them the they’re not all they think they are. And what better way then to knock up their daughter~” he said as his arms pinned her thighs up so her feet would stick into the air as he felt her pussy start getting wet around his cock, making it slick and easier to push in as she was starting to moaning, in front of a crowd too! It should have been embarrassing but the way he took her like this, naked and bare with her breasts Bouncing against his chest as he ravaged her. Suddenly Momo’s toes curled and crossed around his back as a loud moan came from the heroine in training before her lists began to clench down around Izuku’s cock tightly.
She soon felt herself getting pumped full of a warm thic substance as his cock throbbed against her tight walls, all while Momo panted and blushed underneath him. “On second thought.” Izuku soon stood up and picked Momo from her spot while she hanged onto him, wiggling her ass to get his cock into her more. “Take their money, I’m taking her.” He said as the green haired villain walked off holding Momo in his arms, fucking her while standing, id did pay to be a villain, but sometimes they payment wasn’t always cash~

So I was on your fandom blog and I saw that you believe Bakugou (at least in assuming) to have ASPD. Is wondering if you could expand on that? I personally see him as NPD but I'd love to hear your side of things
first off anon bless u for being on my fandom blog that takes courage cause it’s a wicked hot mess over there lol and secondly to everyone else yes im about to spend an embarrassing amount of effort overanalyzing an anime man, no u shouldn’t apply this logic to diagnosing real people u don’t know or urself, no its not that deep but yes u can fuck right off if u wanna cry about me headcanoning ur favs with “shitty” illnesses. eat my dick.
But now down to the good shit! So I actually think bakugou has comorbid aspd/npd. But for this since u said u already see him as having npd I’ll just focus on the aspd criteria but im totally down to talk more about npd as well if u wanna. (the rest is under a cut because frankly mobile users would have drawn and quartered me otherwise)
So first im gonna go thru the dsm v criteria that are required for diagnosis that bakugou fits/exhibits (leaving out the few things that don’t pertain to him just for length and also because not every person has to fit every single criteria to qualify)
1. Significant impairments in personality as manifested by
a. identity (self esteem derived from power, pleasure, or personal gain), self direction (goal setting based on personal gratification, absence of prosocial standards and culturally normal ethical behavior)
katsukis entire sense of self is built upon his ability to “win” and to always be number one and come out on top. He absolutely cant stand to be viewed as less than that because if so, his entire sense of self begins to crumble. Part of the reason he’s so antagonistic towards Izuku in the early chapters is the fact that Izuku challenges that identity. He (unintentionally and intentionally) challenges katsuki and wont give way to him (which is the right thing to do, but we see how “well” katsuki handles that). He also doesn’t have a good sense of “prosocial standards.” katsuki has created his own internal sense of morals and values, he’s decided whats worth his time and effort based on his own opinions and not on what society deems worthwhile behavior. He’s constantly getting admonished that his attitude “isn’t that of a hero” because his values are different than the ones of the society around him. But he doesn’t care, as long as he “wins” then everythings good. And its not until he stops “winning” and his behavior begins to get in the way of his goals does he begin to realize that he has a problem.
b. impairments in interpersonal functioning as manifested by lack of empathy (lack of concern for feelings, needs, or suffering of others) and lack of intimacy (incapacity for mutually intimate relationships, use of dominance or intimidation to control others)
I could frankly write a whole essay about just this bit alone but I’ll try to condense my thoughts. So. Lets talk about katsukis lack of empathy. This boy wouldn’t know another person’s emotions if they walked up and punched him in the face. Which they do. On multiple occasions. But I digress. Katsuki is known for his shitty bedside manner, his lack of concern for the feelings of others is literally what cost him his provisional license, but aside from with Izuku (who we’ve established is a source of Baggage for katsuki and shouldn’t be counted among his normal behavior because at the start of the series they BOTH bring out the worst in one another and overcoming that is part of both of their character arcs and growth and a main theme of the damn story. Win and save. Save and win. Ahem. But again I digress) katsuki isn’t vindictive or cruel in an unnecessary way about other peoples emotions. He doesn’t use them against people, it just doesn’t occur to him that they exist. But as we see katsuki grow and begin to try and change his unhealthy behavior, we see that he’s not oblivious of others emotions in the same way todoroki is (who I headcanon as autistic along with izuku (who also has adhd), but that’s a whole nother post lol), he just doesn’t know what to do with them. He can handle things like kirishima feeling insecure, because he can logically talk to him about how strong he is to encourage and support him, but really struggles with more intimate and open forms of emotional support, like with Izuku.
He also struggles with forming prosocial bonds and friends. At the start of the series katsuki doesn’t have friends, he has lackeys he controls with intimidation and fear because he doesn’t know any other way to be. He has trust and intimacy issues and doesn’t like people getting too close to him because he feels displays of vulnerability are what makes someone weak (see those asocial morals and values we talked about earlier). After his time at UA, a few large helpings of some humble pie, and the diligent and hard work of a small group of fearless idiots (aka kaminari whose literally too prosocial for his own good and has zero self preservation instincts, and kirishima who has an endless supply of patience and understands empathy and other peoples emotions to a degree that’s baffling to me) he is able to start deconstructing that idea and realizing that u can be vulnerable and let people close to u and still be strong. That the mortifying ordeal of being known isn’t actually the worst things ever. Also that when confronted with people who aren’t actually afraid of him, he doesn’t know how else to deter them from getting close to him. The fact that none of the other kids in 1-A take katsukis shit and even go so far as to pick on him and mock him and call him out on his bullshit is a MAJOR turning point for his socialization skills.
2. pathological personality traits in the following catagories
a. antagonism, characterized by hostility (persistent and frequent angry feelings, anger or irritability in response to minor slights or insults, nasty mean vengeful behavior), callousness (lack of concern for the feelings and problems of others)
I mean. Do I even have to expand on this point? I feel like no
b. disinhibition, characterized by impulsivity (acting on the spur of the moment in response to immediate stimuli, acting without a plan or consideration for outcomes, difficulty establishing and following plans), risk taking (lack of concern for ones limitations and denial of the reality of personal danger, engaging in potentially risky and self-damaging activities without regard for consequences)
this is a criteria where u have to adjust for the world these characters are living in. but even then, by hero standards, katsuki is still impulsive. His teachers are constantly admonishing him in the early series for charging headfirst into a situation, loosing himself to his emotions and anger, and letting things get the better of him because hes not taking the time to properly assess the situation, this also bleeds into katsukis inability to work with others or ask for help. He charges headfirst into a situation by himself, blows up anything in his way, and then asks questions later. His teammates are often left totally in the dark to his plans, motives, or other moves and have to just play catch up to him the entire time. In the deku vs. kacchan 1 fight we see this behavior come out in full force. He has no plan, he blows up half the building with zero regard for their goals, and leaves iida completely in the dark. Momo pointing this all out and dragging him for filth during the recap is another wakeup moment for him, having to confront the realities of his impulsive and negative behavior whereas before he was only praised for it.
so if we take a look at even just that, which is still about ¾ of the diagnostic criteria, I think u can see where this really starts to explain his personality. Katsuki is hot headed, angry, impulsive, stubborn, selfish, he gets in his own way more often than not, he struggles with prosocial behavior, making friends, and relating emotionally to others. He has a hard time comforting people and usually does so in a blunt and logical way, he isn’t great at sympathy and being soft, kind, or gentle with other people. It takes a considerable amount of effort for him to realize where his world view and his morals and goals are warped and doing him more harm than good, and he absolutely cant stand to be vulnerable or honest about his feelings with others.
All those things, imo, as someone with aspd & npd, are what make me feel like hes a good character representation of what the complexities of living with these disorders is like. Katsuki isn’t inherently a bad person, and as we see him grow and change, we see the ways in which hes becoming better, but its still hard for him. And despite what a lot of fandom thinks, if u look at the canon, the main person katsuki hurts with his behavior is himself. And I think that’s really important because people with aspd & npd are so often catagorized as abusive villians whose only goal in life is to hurt others. Whereas with katsuki we see where these things and this kind of thinking gets in the way of his goals and ultimately hurts him. and thats what I think makes him the most relatable and makes his growth all the much more satisfying. Katsuki is both fundamentally the same and an entirely different person from when we first meet him. his personality didn’t magically completely change, hes not just a tsundere whose suddenly all mushy feely and hyper empathetic, he’s just learning how to deal with his emotions and the world and getting better at being a healthy person.
So yea, those are my thoughts! There was apparently a whole 1600 words of them so my apologies for writing u a literal dissertation on this lol I just really love this fucking character
