we all agree on how momo is a mom friend, so what if she had a s/o who was more of a dad friend? like, they constantly make really bad jokes, are protective, helps with more things that’s needed, checks up on people even if they don’t want it (lookin at bakugou and tokoyami), thanks! ❤️
A/N: ❤️ anon, you have some of the best ideas, I love you so much
Have some hcs of dad friend!reader who tells shit jokes and is protective as hell
To the entirety of class 1-A, Yaoyorozu Momo was someone they felt could put anyone at ease. She was often the one that everyone came to if they ever had a problem, or if they were feeling down and just needed someone to talk to, without fear of being judged
She was also incredibly selfless, and would do absolutely anything for her friends. For example, whenever Kaminari would short circuit himself, she’d be sure to be right next to him, making sure that he didn’t bump into anything, or hurt himself while he wasn’t in control. When the girls went out to a cute little cafe by the campus, and noticed that Uraraka didn’t get that much to eat because of her budget, she “accidentally” ordered too much food, and asked if the girl wanted the rest of her’s. If anyone in the class was cold, and didn’t bring a jacket or blanket, she’d use her creation quirk to make one, and then lightly scold them that they should be taking better care of themselves, and if anyone had minor injuries, like paper cuts and scrapes from tripping over something, you better believe that she would be there in an instant, a first aid kit in her hand
It was obvious that she would be deemed the “mom friend” of class 1-A, and everyone in the class would absolutely die for her. Even Bakugou, who, though he’d always deny it, truly appreciated her considerate nature
So, since she was the mom of class 1-A, it only made sense that, the ONE person that made her fall harder than anyone else, was you, a person with the personality of a dad who went on vacation to the Bermuda with his five kids
If Momo was the one who was there to comfort the class whenever they needed someone to listen to them, you were the one they came to if they ever needed a laugh, or if they needed you to do something for them
For example, there was a time when Kouda came running to you one day, pure terror written all over his face. Once you saw him, you immediately jumped to your feet, getting ready to fight whoever the hell was bothering your lovely friend. However, the problem was actually much less terrifying, and instead he ran to you to ask if you could get rid of the spider that was in the corner of his room. So, like the dad that you are, you follow behind him, and once the eight legged fiend is pointed out, you merely grab a water bottle and trap it in there, and then letting it outside. After that day, you are the certified bug catcher, and Kouda is forever in your debt, even though you tell him it’s fine
You’re also the one that everyone calls on if something is broken, or if they can’t do it themselves, because they know that you’ll be able to fix it. Jirou’s tuner is broken? Well, it was, until you took it from her hands and tinkered with it a bit, and just as soon as it broke was it fixed. Tokoyami’s weird globe light thing was broken? Well, with a few smacks and a change of the batteries, it was as good as new! Basically, there was no need to call a handy man as long as you were there
There was also another time when you noticed that the rest of the class was all huddled in the common room. Well, all of them except for a rather pissed off looking Todoroki, who was currently in the kitchen, staring menacingly at his drink. He came back to the dorms after a conversation with his father, and it was clear to see that it wasn’t a pleasant “family talk”
With a look from Momo, you walked over to him, standing close enough where he could tell that you were there, but far enough that you weren’t invading his space. For a while, you didn’t say anything, instead offering him your company, but after a few more minutes, you broke the silence: “Hey, did I ever tell you about the time I was attacked by 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9?”
When he finally turned to look at you, you could tell that there was a bit of curiosity behind those anger filled eyes, so you continued: “Yeah, the odds were against me”
It took him a second before he got it, and when he did, you could hear him try to cover his laughter with a cough, turning his head away from you as he told you to knock it off. Did you listen? Of course not, there was a smile that needed to be brought to light, so you continued: “What’s brown and sticky?”
He refused to respond to you, so you prodded him, poking him in the arm until he finally snapped and asked you “what?” With a shit eating grin you spoke: “a stick”
You continued to make horrendous jokes that like until he finally cracked, giggles tumbling out of his lips, and all of a sudden the tense air had dissipated, and your classmates had filed back into the kitchen, talking as if nothing had happened
While Momo absolutely adores you for being so light hearted and endearing, she can’t help but hate the fact that you’re so protective. Not because you come off as overbearing or anything like that, but because you often end up putting the needs of others over yourself.
One day, while you were on a practice team together, learning what to do for recovery missions, you noticed one part of the set was about to break off, and in the heat of the moment, rather than yelling at her to run away, you instead pushed her out of the way, and allowed yourself to get hit instead.
It wasn’t anything serious, and luckily you were fine, but she certainly gave you a scolding when she met up with you in the infirmary.
Along with this, Momo does appreciate the fact that you find it in your day to check up with everyone in your class, even if it’s inconvenient for you. One time, when Bakugou was sick, and wasn’t able to attend class that day, you decided that you’d take notes for the both of you, and collect any homework passed out that day for him. Once the day was over, you headed straight for the dorms, and before you even went to his room, you whipped up a quick soup, knowing that the boy probably didn’t get up at all to take care of himself. So, with a bowl of soup in one hand, and his assignments and your notes in the other, you marched yourself to his room, kicking the door to make your presence known. Out came a very sick and very annoyed Bakugou, who wanted to know why you were there. When you told him that you brought some things for him, he grumbled out something about not needing your help, let alone anyone elses. Before he could slam the door in your face, you shoved your foot in between the frame, and gave him the driest look you could muster: “Listen, I get that your ego won’t let anyone else help you because you think it makes you ‘weak,’ but you need to take care of yourself, and it’s clear that you aren’t. So, here’s the deal, either you let me help, or I’m gonna go grab Momo and tell her how difficult you’re being, and we both know for sure that she’s not gonna let you off the hook”
After that spiel, he let you in with little to no complaints, knowing very well of how scary Momo could be when she was called over, especially when someone wasn’t taking care of themselves
The entire class also knows just how grossly cute the two of you can be. Momo could be sitting in the common room, engrossed in a conversation with someone, when you walk in, mentioning something about heading out to grab some groceries for the class, before leaning over the couch and capturing her lips in a sweet kiss, and then leaving as if nothing happened. Or, Momo could be chastising you about doing something reckless while a few of your friends are watching from the corner, wondering what the outcome would be, and then you’d just grab one of her hands, pressing a kiss to her knuckles and then placing it on your heart, telling her that you’re sorry that you worried her, but hey, you’re still alive. It’s so precious that the entire class can’t find it in themselves to tell you to knock it off, but they still find it kind of gross, just how in love you two are
Really, everyone in the class thinks that you’re relationship just, makes sense. You two balance each other out, and in all honesty, they couldn’t imagine the two of you with someone different

Kaminari x Jirou
Scenario: https://natsspammityspamspamham.tumblr.com/post/177779009442/kaminari-playing-out-of-tune-guitar-jirou-you
“Step on up! Step on up!” Kaminari called in the common area of the UA dorm. It was a slow Saturday, so barely anyone was around. “Any requests?” He asked playing around with the tuners. His strings had a strange twang-like sound when he plucked at them, and the pitch of each string was extremely off.
“I’ve got one,” Jirou grinned sitting on the sofa with her phone.
Kaminari anticipated her request.
“Stop,” she said with a straight face.
“Come on, I’m trying,” he chuckled still trying to figure out how to tune it.
She smiled. “Your face.” She giggled, “that’s one weird expression, but I guess that’s your focused face? It reminds me of when you overuse your quirk.”
“Ha ha ha,” he sarcastically laughed unamused.
She reached out her hand. “Give that to me. I’ve been watching you tune for five minutes, and it’s painful to watch.” He handed the guitar to her. It only took her a minute to find the perfect pitch for each of the six strings. She was a natural.
“Whoa! That’s amazing!” He exclaimed, “you’ve gotta teach me how to play. You have all those instruments in your room, right? You’re probably a prodigy or something! You have a ton of talent!”
“No, it’s just a hobby I have,” she insisted. Her face was blushing a peach pink.
“But I’ve heard you play! Sometimes, I’ll hear it when I’m passing by. The way you do that thing with the thing! It sounds so cool!” He began to imitate guitar sounds with his guitar. It sounded dreadful, but he was trying his best. “Can you please play me something? Please?” He begged. She was really blushing now. She wasn’t used to playing in front of anyone. She just played to herself. After listening to the radio and her dad growing up, she wanted to give her own shot at music.
She was handed the guitar. She inhaled and exhaled. Placing her calloused fingers on the strings, she strummed a chord and hummed softly. She played an upbeat song as she tore through riffs and improvisations effortlessly. Soon, she was fully singing an original song that she had felt constantly playing in her heart. It came out naturally, and it made his heart skip a beat. She finished with a bang and smiled. He roared with applause asking if she’d do an encore. She shook her head adamantly and handed the guitar back to him.
His eyes were so bright and full of life with a grin that went ear to ear. “You’ve gotta teach me! That was so good! It’s too bad nobody was around to hear it.”
She didn’t want to tell him, but that was her first time playing in front of anyone besides her family and Momo. But even they didn’t know she liked to write and improvise songs on the side. For some reason, she just effortlessly broke open her song without a second thought, but even though it was out of impulse, she didn’t feel a single regret. Her mind was flustered and racing at a mile per minute. “Sure, I’ll teach you.” She grinned. She handed him back the guitar. “Maybe we’ll even be able to jam together. You on guitar, me on bass, that might actually be fun. You’ve gotta get better first though.”
“Yup!” He beamed from ear to ear. He couldn’t even hide his excitement; he felt like doing backflips. He wanted to thank the music gods for this moment. His heart was jolting with electricity. “I’ll be at your beck and call, teach.” He tried to play it cool, but he knew that his whole face was showing otherwise.
“Cool. We’ll start tomorrow then.” She walked away back into her dorm. In her mind, thoughts were racing back and forth. She couldn’t put her finger on it, but she was kind of excited to spend time with him to play music. She had never taught anyone before. She had barely played in front of anyone before. But she felt like he was different.
Kaminari was dancing and jumping with the guitar. He couldn’t help but flashback to when she played. Her fingers flew across the frets as her music danced in the air. Her short purple hair swayed a little as she went along with her melody. It was beautiful, stunning, and he felt fully captivated. But as he pranced back to his dorm, he nearly jumped into the doorframe. He stumbled back and thought to himself that he had to try hard. He wanted to impress her. He was going to be a student worthy of her time. But most of all, he wanted to make her smile and laugh.
I wanted to try writing for some reason. Really, it was three in the morning, and I was too stressed to sleep. I wrote this on mobile, and all I can say is... writing on a desktop is so much easier. I’m so used to desktop Tumblr. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the story of you did happen to read it. I don’t consider myself a good writer at all. My grammar and spelling sucks, I’m kind of an illiterate buffoon, and I just don’t have a way with words. I just hope this idea got across. As someone who has no experience in the realm of romantic love, I’m probably the least qualified person to write fluff scenarios. I’m going off other people’s experiences for the most part. If everything works out, I might even write a short epilogue or sequel. But that may rely on whether I can convince myself my writing is okay.

Style
“I’ve said it time & time again: Car manufacturers 20-30 years ago… they took chances. They made these oddball cars like the CRX or the Del Sol that were more for the driver and NOT for the purpose.
The 80’s & 90s stand out to me… because it was more about the drive. It was more about style… and what you have. It was standing out from the crowd.
It’s been a few years now, but a buddy of mine & I were driving around, and we were just looking at cars in car lots. And we drove through an Infinity dealership. Every single new car on that lot was either gray, white, or black. There is no other colors. Who??? Like….We have color TVs for a reason!”
-John Moore / Jacksonville, FL
This is John Moore’s 1988 Honda CRX HF, powered by a K20A2 from an RSX Type-S. And his words above are just a little glimpse into his mindset… a mindset that a lot of us tuners, drivers, and enthusiasts feel at our core.
It’s true: The automotive landscape has changed. And the rate at which it’s changed… is nothing compared to the rate that it’s changing now. Technological innovations, combined with cost-cutting, combines with safety requirements, combined with changing consumer demands is shuffling all the papers here. We don’t know where exactly is gonna go, but we know it’s going there fast. And we know it’s not good for expressive sports cars.
The Tragedy
Ford isn’t making any cars/sedans for the US anymore, except for the Mustang. GM looks like they’re following that path… although not quite as extremely. Electric engines are forcing the internal combustion engine to witness their own fate. On the same token though, electric engines are also changing everything we thought we knew about performance.
Manufacturers are cutting costs & closing facilities, while raising sticker prices. New cars are priced higher than ever… absurdly high for someone who hasn’t been in the market for a while. Yet new cars are competing for a tight spot with more ‘monthly charges’ than we’ve ever seen in our lives.
Cars have already turned into full-on appliances. Rolling Bluetooth devices… save for a few exceptions. Fat cars for fat consumers.
And the tragedy is: Today’s commuters are not willing to make any sacrifices to their comforts or conveniences… for the sake of memorable experiences and/or enjoyment. And today’s manufactures aren’t willing to risk it & tell these slugs to go pound sand… except maybe for Mopar. So we’ve lowered the curve to meet the needs of the uninspired. And began to spin-off lazy things, as exciting things. Started to market convenience as performance. They don’t care if it’s lies… so long as it’s what they want to hear.
And if you think the appliancing of vehicles has peaked-out, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Less variety, and more repurposed chassis… that’s what you can expect to see domino into the near future.
What Matters
I’m not sure how to wrap this up. I’m not sure where the pretty bow went. And admittedly – everything I just wrote, was written in generalities. Please understand that. I know people with SUVs, crossovers, and minivans who are not lazy. They’re just busy!! Busy with parenting, work, errands, recitals… all of the above. I get it! I’m not speaking on an individual basis, but I AM speaking on a blanket truth.
But just because the masses go one way… doesn’t mean you need to follow. Know your True North. Don’t forget who you are. If driving matters to you… it’s usually part of a bigger set of character traits. It means that THINGS matter to you. SENSES matter. DETAILS matter. And a sense of FREEDOM & EXPLORATION… matters. It means that you’re in touch with these types of things. So yes, GO OUT OF YOUR WAY… and SPEND YOUR MONEY & EFFORT to support the brands who are led by passion. Car culture and otherwise. Buy what moves you… even if it doesn’t always make perfect sense. And remember that each time we make a purchase, we cast our own personal vote on what’s important… and how we want this world to be.
John Moore is absolutely right: The most memorable cars & trucks throughout history, are usually the one’s that fall at the edges of the spectrum. Same with people.

LT4-Powered 1969 Pro Touring Camaro
The story is as old as hot rodding. Call it hot rodding lore—you know it, eyes bigger than stomach bite off more than they can chew. But this isn’t about trying to wolf a four-and-half-pound beefsteak at the Big Texan while the clock is ticking. Inexperience is the reason; ego is the driver. But growing up, Alex Wright had been indoctrinated, had been around race cars and sports cars as a youngster.
“I bought the car when I was 22, and slowly started to strip it down. I had no idea how over my head I really was,” Alex confessed. But luckily the bell rang before he tried anything. “When I found out that work would take me overseas, I stashed the car in my grandfather’s barn.” It would begin to take root. When he got back to the States six years later, he had kids and a busy career. What now, he gulped? “Fortunately,” he said, “I found Smitty’s Custom Automotive.”
The Camaro was an orphan, a roller that had been restored but the sticky part was that the insides of it had suffered blazing heat. Chris Smith is an old hand at this business, he knows what real-time actually means, he knows the pitfalls, the BS, and, most importantly, how to craft a premium build. But before the Camaro got under Chris’ roof, Alex had tried to insinuate himself. “It was bed-lined inside and out and I wanted to see what was underneath.” He ground, chiseled, and scraped his heart and fingertips out on either side of the floorboards. He said he’d never been able to get that dirty before, but he’d actually put a part of himself in the build.
To gain formidable handling and cornering traits and to tailor the Camaro’s stance, Smitty’s gang got on it with Detroit Speed mechanicals. In front, the familiar hydroformed subframe attended by tall Detroit Speed spindles, control arms, and a splined antisway bar. Smitty’s ensured wheel control with multi-adjustable RideTech coilover shocks. They added some resistance to torsional bending by running Detroit Speed connectors under the frameless chassis. At the business end, the patented QUADRALink assembly is damped by RideTech coilovers abetted by an antisway bar and a Panhard rod. Big brakes complement; Wilwood 14-inch plates all around and six-piston calipers followed by four-piston pinchers.
You’d think that the LT4 engine would have dropped in the chassis more or less. Sure, it turned out to be more than less. Certain exhaust headers interfered with the Detroit Speed front-end components. Ultimate Headers snakes with 1 7/8-inch primaries brought the issue to a close. Also, there were minor clearance troubles with the OE pulley arrangement that were solved straightaway. Alex couldn’t resist the hairy idea of dry-sump oiling, so Smitty’s built him a reservoir and put it way forward on the passenger side of the engine compartment where the tank would normally be in a Z06 Corvette.
From there, the package went to Lingenfelter Engineering for the tuning and tweaking. The factory LT4 advertises 650 hp at 6,000 rpm and 650 lb-ft at 4,600 rpm at the crankshaft. Lingenfelter petted 638 hp and 632 lb-ft from that engine at the tire tread, so they did a real fine job there. Rather than putting a ho-hum slushbox behind it, Alex got feisty and stuck a Bowler-prepped T-56 and Centerforce clutch pack/flywheel (enabled by hydraulic linkage) behind the Super Magnum bellhousing. With an 0.63:1 top gear, Alex’s final drive reduces the numerical cog in the 9-inch to lazy 2.23:1.
Well, yes, Smitty’s is very good at mechanical chores because they must be, but that is another realm entirely from how they illustrate the car, especially with a dark, turbulent color. To clean up the landscape, they shaved the side markers, gave it OER bumpers, and put in Anzo LED headlamps and Billet Specialties taillights. The firewall got smoothed. They attacked the body seams and gapped them skinny and straight. Although the paint came from PPG, according to Chris Smith it’s his custom mix blue that is seriously complemented by the matte black finish on those Forgeline alloys. Even the smoked window glass contributes.
Trent’s Trick Upholstery over in Baltimore (Ohio) remedied the stripped, fire-blackened hovel that was once the Camaro’s interior. They covered Cerullo seats with leather and then moved to the doors and quarter-panels with the same. They laid down Dynamat and covered it with custom carpet. Over the steel dashboard they placed a TMI cover, and then they pasted it with a Detroit Speed insert and filled the holes with AutoMeter meters. Wait long enough and the whole coalesces down at the handbuilt console.
Winter means crap weather almost everywhere in the country. Since it gets that way in Ohio, too, Alex doesn’t hit the tarmac until the slab is warm and dry, and then he’s out a few times a month stirring up some passion. Immediately after its 26-month gestation, he learned to trust the Camaro’s efficiency. “I drove several hundred miles to upstate New York.” Not a hiccup. Not a fart. Not a wheeze. That most of us have had hot rods quit running—sometimes in the dark, for no apparent explanation—this charming quality cannot be understated.
If nothing more, the Alex Camaro is a four-wheeled pal in the guise of a hairy, favorite four-legged companion—always faithful and always ready to go whenever you want to go. CHP

2017 Ford Herrod Performance Mustang Review
By David Ashton
Since Ford released the Mustang in right-hand drive for the rest of the world, the vehicle has slowly been gaining momentum and outstripping sales from some of its sports car competitors. Pretty cool for a pony/muscle car, but now tuners and custom shops are getting in on the act, such as Melbourne-based Herrod Performance from our cousins down under.
This review over at wheelsmag.com.au goes through the details of the Herrod Performance Shelby GT350 Mustang which kicks out an impressive 670.511Hp/500kW and 750Nm. Although Australia won’t have their own native muscle cars from now on, right hand drive versions of the Mustang will be more than welcomed down under.
The Herrod Performance’s ‘standard’ package incorporates a ‘Roush supercharger, Ford Performance calibration, Ford Performance cat-back exhaust system, lowered Ford Performance springs, Ford Performance bonnet struts, grooved disc rotors with high-performance pads, and extensive additional heat shielding to protect vital parts of the driveline.’ This also comes along with ‘Powered by Ford Performance’ badging and a Herrod Performance plaque on the dash.
Other upgrades include a FR3 suspension pack with new front strut assemblies, antiroll bars, new rear springs, dampers, bushes and lower arm. Throw into the mix a short-throw shifter, GT350R Alcantara steering wheel, matte-black 20-inch Momo wheels and Pirelli P Zero tires and you have some serious upgrades on your hands. All this for $88,945.
