Thanks to those of you who still follow me. I’ve been away due to a serious family issue and haven’t been able to post. My mom lost her battle with cancer on July 15, which was two days after her 76th birthday. I had been in Illinois taking care of her since the end of May and just got back to my home in Arizona. I will be posting more jewelry in the next week and just wanted to say thanks to those of you who are still following me. #cancersucks #gingerblossomjewelry #lostparent #cancer #fuckcancer #statementjewelry #lostmom #cancerkills #chunkynecklace #deadparents #findacureforcancer #momdiedofcancer #momdied #cancerfighter #cancersucks👎 (at Queen Creek, Arizona)

How many colours are left?
At 59 my momma held out a handful of brown, grey and black pencils and told me all the colours were gone, that she’d seen all of them, but now this was all that was left.
I sat, stunned, unsure if she was kidding or serious. The metaphor seemed appropriate, though devastating because it meant she was dying. My momma who embarrassed me by doing battle with my teachers and bosses was through fighting the cancer inside her.
I don’t know yet what my metaphor will be, though I hope I have more time to figure it out.

I started looking at blogs who had common themes in terms of girls who have lost their mom. SPecifically speaking, girls who lost their mom the cancer. It has been 3 months and 5 days since my mom died to kidney cancer and I think the largest effect this has had on me is the feeling of lonliness in a life without a mom and also in a world where people do not know how to comfort you or understand what you are going through. I would like to hear from those who have dealt with this and know your thoughts, your pains, everything.
