im usually ok with bugs and art of bugs but something about the nightsong bard and flighted molecricket icks me out to a visceral extent theyre so yucky raaaagh

what is your favorite type of bug

oh thats a hard one uhh. obviously love cicadas but I also adore wasps, mantises, dragonflies, moths and butterflies (I did a biology research project on the difference between them actually, it turns out there isn’t really much of a difference!), molecrickets, mosquitoes, and quite a few beetles!! Right now I’ve been kinda obsessed with bombardier beetles because I think they’re really really cool!!

Also if we can count non-insects as bugs then I love millipedes + centipedes + pretty much all arachnids too :]

Well, at least there were still lots of other bugs to choose from. Heck, maybe he'd find something even better. Those red ants certainly hit the spot.

Timon immediately perked up at the mention of molecrickets. He'd never heard of those before, although he didn't wanna admit it. All the same, they sounded pretty tasty and he was eager to try them out.

"Lady, you're lookin' at the best bug catcher in the whole world!"

Only critter that find their way in are earwigs and pillbugs . While fire ants don't raise much of a concern it's those that like to make their presence known anytime she tries to enjoy the season .

Crickets , silverfish , wolf spiders , but they probably don't taste as good . Certainly not arachnids . Anyone who even dreams of eating one of those has to be outta' their mind .

Northern Mole Cricket, Neocurtilla hexadactyla.   If, in the fall, you hear a frog calling, it probably isn't.  It probably is this thunderous gladiator of a cricket.  It does like the edge of wetlands, and makes little sound chambers in the ground from where it broadcasts its love calls.  Find their calls on the web, very froggy.  Found by Liz Humes in wetland areas along transmission lines on Patuxent Wildlife Research Center.  I think this would make a good tattoo for a ditch digger.
