We are only 10 days away from our #EmptyTheTanks protest for the #MojaveDolphins. Visit our website if you are unaware of what's happening to the dolphins at the Mirage habitat: http://mojavedolphins.com/ We will be meeting in front of the Mirage volcano from 7 until after the 9pm eruption. The volcano erupts at 8 and 9pm. It will be very crowded during this time. Please grab the signs and line up 5-10 minutes before each eruption time against the back gate, and raise those signs high! We want to be captured in the tourists photographs and be seen. If it is posisble for you, please do not pay to park within the Mirage Hotel and Casino parking lot. Lots with free parking include TI (next door), Palazzo (across the street), and Venetian (across the street). You can also use a service like LYFT. You can download and print the official posters from http://emptythetanks.org/posters/, but I will have several available for you to borrow. Please do not block the pedestrian walkway. i’m actually pretty pissed that the mirage hotel went ahead and named the baby dolphin “karli”. it stands for Knights Aces Rebels Lights Inclusion. my entire lifes purpose is to raise awareness about the captivity of these sentient beings. i live in las vegas because i wanted to speak out against the mirage hotel. i;ve been raising awareness in this city for more than five years. the dolphins when i moved here were DISEASED with a pox virus and not a single person thought “hey dolphins aren’t suppossed to look like this, maybe we should look into it??” it took me dragging their ass through the media to get salinity levels changed. there are eleven dolphins trapped in this hotel. the pool is not that deep, and they spend their time at the surface. remember, it gets like 117 here. dolphins can get sunburn just like you do. the dolphin pools do not have any type of shade. the new shade structure is a joke and only in one pool at the interaction space (where you get to beach the dolphin for a photo!! congrats, you’re an asshole) 

anyway, im pissed that once again i cannot just ENJOY SOMETHING WITHOUT IT GOING BACK TO DOLPHINS.

on the plus side, downtown las vegas just got this really cool art piece centered around the waste the world creates and saving the planet and animals. One of the pieces is a whale that has EMPTY THE TANKS stamped on the walls and i am so touched so I know we are making a difference..

Aquatica opened in Orlando, Florida on March 1st 2008. It is a marine park that has thrill rides, and up close encounters with dolphins and other animals. One of the rides is "Dolphin Plunge", where a slide ventures through the dolphin habitat. It is owned by Seaworld. There are currently 4 Commerson's dolphins within Aquatica. Juan was captured in the Straights of Magellan on November 23rd 1983. The other three were captive born in Seaworld San Diego- Pepe (born May 23rd 1993, arrived January 27th 2008), Ross (born September 1st 1998, arrived January 27th 2008) and Ringer (born July 10th 2000, arrived January 10th 2016). 4 dolphins have died at Aquatica since 2008. Betsy was a wild dolphin captured in the Straights of Magellan on November 23rd 1983. She died on January 17th 2016. Fabio was a male, born September 16th 1993 in Seaworld San Diego. He was sent to Aquatica on January 27th 2008. Fabio died on April 15th 2014. Keebler was a male, born October 23rd 1998 in Seaworld San Diego. He was sent to Aquatica on January 27th 2008. Beetle was the 13th dolphin to die at The Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage in Las Vegas. Historically, this facility has had 22 dolphins — now with a 59 percent mortality rate and an average age of death of 10-years old. Wild dolphins can live to be 50 years or more, concluding that this facility, even with up to date filtration systems and temperature controlled water, restaurant quality frozen dead fish and a full time vet, the dolphins in Las Vegas are dying 30 years younger in their captive environment in the desert. hey whats that drama about you just blogged? ive seen some drama go down but i am unfamiliar with that one??? ahhhi want this to be a nice place again

Kalia-s was a pro-cap blog and basically just caused a lot of trouble and antagonized people. Apparently people were sending them a lot of hate and they made this weird post saying "This was a social experiment" and then they deleted.

That's pretty much what I remember, anyways.

It is tourist season for Las Vegas. Please remind your family and friends to avoid The Mirage hotel during their vacation. Animals are still being exploited under the desert sun. The Mirage is part of MGM, the largest resort company in our city. You can take your activism a step farther by refusing to visit any MGM properties along the strip.
