I think it's interesting and even a little encouraging that, even though I know it's more than just twitch money and that various sponsorships/orgs/merch etc. money is involved, that these guys are able to make a decent living with only 100-1000 viewers regularly.

I think people forget just how many streamers are doing it full time with around 100 viewers. twitch is lucrative ESPECIALLY sponsorships. barring even the actual stream itself, they have hundreds of thousands of followers on Twitter and Instagram. that pays.

I remember when I was watching tub bo regularly when he had around 3-4k a stream last year, and he would always complain to cpk (who had around 100 average viewers) that cpk got way more sponsorships than him. what is more important to advertisers a lot of the time is marketability. cpk is really trustworthy, standup guy who never bad mouths the bands he works for. it doesn't matter how many less viewers he is getting.

Ludwigs fans are not the most charitable to dream tbh his chat is awful even if he isn't so even if the mogul mail isn't entirely neg towards dream , he might still start getting lashings from general side of the internet (who this drama still hasn't reached)

i'd say most good commentary content youtubers have specific niches. fashion, politics, comedy, and so on. bad commentary youtubers are pervasive because they dont have the skill to say anything worthwhile, so they dedicate their energy to drama and bashing other people

agreed. I guess it depends on what "commentary youtuber" means I watch a ton of sit down talky content about fashion, doll collecting, cartoons, interior design, geography, etc but Ive basically stopped watching anything drama related except for mogul mail
