i‘m sure tumblr has already come up with 500 reasons why Moffat did The Pilot wrong but i loved it.

i love Bill. and the pictures on the Doctor’s desk and that he won’t wipe her mind because someone did it to him and while he doesn’t remember it (or her), he knows someone out there would be proud of him if she knew this time he didn’t fix things that way.

i love Bill and how she is not afraid to ask questions, i love her enthusiasm and how, unlike the Doctor, she is not pretending to know everything.

i love Bill because she says what she means and forces the Doctor to be a bit more honest with her. and i love how Heather is/was willing to tear the universe apart for the sake of a promise  and how we learn that love is stronger than the deadliest fire in the universe: daleks.

Random Moffat era thesis, based on this post: Death in the Moffat era tends to be a transformative event. The “undying” or “afterlife” of a companion does not simply remove their death from the narrative, but leaves them changed and, more often than not, capable of achieving things that would have been out of their reach beforehand. Clara steals a TARDIS and runs away, the heroine of her own story. Amy gets to live a “normal” life. Danny can reverse the consequences of his actions that he regrets the most... these are very different endings, but they are ultimately tailored to who this character is, what they are struggling with and what they are aspiring to.

She had that familiar glint in her eyes again; the one that always told him of just how exciting she found the new direction she was going in. “This is bound to be good.”

Notes: Written for Steven Moffat Appreciation Day on @moffatappreciationlife,  predictably for this ship in all its shapes at once because these characters - River, Eleven, Twelve and Moffat's Ten - are the ones I've always loved the most about the show. So, although this is tagged as Twelve/River, there are plenty of references to other instances of their history because it's where they began, after all; this is only focusing on the eventual end of it, when it comes.

There's some 25 minutes left before it's actually the 18th, but I won't be around much tomorrow, so it's getting posted now. Hope you enjoy it and feedback is always welcome!

tumblr mirrors on ‘photosugar’

So idk if others have noticed this before - but it’s the first time I’m seeing this, hence the post.

There’s a website, https://www.photosugar.com, which apparently mirrors all pictures, gifsets etc. people post on their tumblrs (and also other social media sites like twitter and instagram, if I understand it correctly). An example for a tumblr user, with my name: https://www.photosugar.com/tu/lordhellebore

Now it won‘t turn up anything but a 404 error in my case, because I sent an e-mail to the contact address, which is darius@photosugar.com with the title “My content on your website”:

Hello, it’s come to my attention that you are mirroring all of the posts containing pictures/gifs that I post on my tumblr. I am asking you to stop pulling the content from my tumblr and to delete me from your website. tumblr username is „lordhellebore“ Thank you.

I got a reply consisting of the single word “removed” after just one day, and as you can see, it worked perfectly fine with the informal mail I sent. So if you want them to stop mirroring your tumblr, it seems all you really need to do is this.  

I can’t test the site for all of my mutuals, but I’m tagging a few whom I found on there by random trial & error, and I suggest you look yourself up if you see this post and dislike tumblr mirrors (even if this one is only for pictures, not text).

Sunrises: What is something you are looking forward to?

A lot at the moment! I’m starting a new job on Monday. Doctor Who next Saturday (and in the theater a few days after), Anastasia on Broadway on April 22, and the Climate March on April 29. April is going to be very eventful. :)

Roller skating: What are your hobbies?

Writing, mostly. Lame, since that’s also my day job lol. I love to make playlists and edits in my spare time, but things were crazy with my last job in recent months and I got away from them. Hopefully there will be more of that in the future!

The sky looks so pretty when the sun makes it shades of pink and purple. I kind of wish it looked like that more often, but perhaps then it wouldn’t be as special!

I still like Sherlock and enjoyed the new episodes very much, but because it's become trendy to hate it and Cumberbatch, I don't say anything. I keep seeing nothing but hate for it/him on my dash, except from you, and it's too disheartening. Bless you for having the courage to talk about it, and positively at that.

So, first off, my blushes! Heaven knows I am like the biggest chicken on the planet, but there comes a time when one just gets fed-up with the hate directed at one’s faves. I still love the show to pieces, and nobody should be afraid to own up to that. Don’t be scared to blog about it yourself, nonnie. You’re probably more likely to get positive responses than haters, tbh. :)

And yeah, hating the show (and poor Ben) really does seem to be… trendy, in the way that absolutely negative stuff does seem to trend on Tumblr. Not surprised, but still disappointed. That’s not to say that not everybody who hates/dislikes/won’t watch it is doing so for that reason—there are valid criticisms to be made, and I have seen viewpoints against Sherlock that I might not agree with, but I do respect the integrity of them.

But there’s valid criticism, and then there’s vitriol, and I’ve seen far more vitriol than levelheaded criticism.

If you need some Sherlock-positive/Moffat-positive blogs to follow, I recommend @scriptscribbles and @moffatappreciationlife. Also, although the @bakerstreetbabes had some definite criticisms of this season, the stuff that they reblog is all good, and I recommend them to any Sherlockian on Tumblr. :)
