Sudden Moebalt posting time 👀

I actually only just found out that Eshigami no Kizuna (home of our one and only Moe-anime-girl Cobalt) had an End-of-Service in September... I regret not being able to document whatever silly side-story this Cobalt had-- Didn’t realize the game’s existence would be so short :C Also by sheer coincidence, I forgot to make the annual Moebalt birthday drawing this year back in February.

Inspired by @kirinda-ondo and @batsuneko‘s “Corrected” versions of Moebalt. I just love how this fandom has basically taken her and been like “She is ours now, we have saved her, no touchie.”

You get to live in a fictional world of your choice, in WHATEVER role you like. Member of the main cast, in a relationship with your fictional crush, replacing a character, a mechanic in another city, you name it. However, you’re also aware of what your fandom is doing. You won’t be aware of every piece of art, but you’ll definitely be aware of the popular ships and headcanons are, as well as the Discourse™ surrounding your fanbase.

Interesting! Obviously Astro Boy. It's got a pretty nice canon universe and very little fandom drama/activity. You get the cool sci-fi, where AI is a totally functional, normal thing. They haven't gotten rid of capitalism, but they seem to be making it work somehow. I'd go for the manga universe, because (a) nice I've always wanted to live in Tokyo (b) I'd SO much rather worry about like... Aliens? Than getting killed in the crossfire of some weird-ass scheme by Umataro Tenma himself. As for character, there's a lot of things i can go for here but my little kinnie heart is being me to say id be atom so /shrug guess that's it. As for how fandom plays into things, I think the biggest impacts would be surrounding Cobalt, honestly i think everybody who's aware of the fandom (is it just me or is it characters too?) would be kinda patronizing to him? But he'd certainly get attention. Also, atombem. OH my god, I forgot about the most common AB ship, Ochanomizu x Tenma, which would certainly be uncomfortable for them if they're aware of it lmao

I love the Cobalt fandom getting excited over Moebalt in ENK, just wanted to say that

Hm, part of what bugs me about Moebalt, I think, is beyond the snakewoman anatomy and tasteless clothing choices, is that, while clearly aged up, the general design of her clothing (horrendous naval-and-boob windows and a frightfully short skirt aside) reads as a high school girl’s uniform in japan, which is... still very much not okay, but unfortunately a popular thing to fetishize. like, a uniform is one thing, bc there a lot of uniforms in the world; but the school uniform in particular just has Problems attached to it, bc literally the only people I know of that even wear school uniforms are under-aged individuals.

tbh I wish the long uniform skirt was still in use, bc if a skirt has to be used, then at least this one is more tasteful/less male gazey; but the reason it’s not is, I think, bc of the sukeban? like, iirc, girl gangs. which. good for them, honestly. tho banning something as silly as a skirt isn’t exactly gonna prevent girls from getting those kinds of ideas. even if the idea was to make it less likely to associate innocent girls with this sort of thing, I feel like it’s counterproductive. they all wear the same outfits, still, so... idk where I was going with this. tf.

Lastly, Blue or A108 from Atom: the Beginning! It was fun drawing him. Unfortunately, I’m not exactly caught up with the manga, since I cannot read or access several chapters (only have a general gist of the story so far), but I can at least keep up with the new chapter releases!

ohboy I can’t believe I forgot to post these   I decided on Cobalt’s robo-anatomy for my design and wanted him to look more ‘incomplete’ and more noticeably a robot, (in comparison, Atom’s design wouldn’t have visible joint segments!) ... I also had the strongest urge to draw Moebalt.
