An Exciting Development--

The last Mystery Doll purchase of the year! I had been holding off posting about him due to some....somewhat shady practices from the estate company (who I am going to leave anonymous, haha.) A quick explanation! (EDIT: Quick. Lol. Sure, Rose. ok.) I saw this doll lot on an online bidding site-- got excited, figured I'd give it a go. The pictures left a lot to be desired; slightly blurry, no real details other than the box.

(I see you, Dollfie Dream insert.) So...the original pictures were not great. More under the cut!

Hm. Great. Still! I am intrigued! So I shot him a message asking for clearer photos-- he gave me his phone number to call or to text for more information (not entirely uncommon for estate sale/resale folks.) and I did so, eager to see if I could puzzle out what I was looking at before jumping all in on bidding. He sent me these pics after I asked:

Ok, yeah, see this I'm intrigued by. Alright! I was pleased, I thanked the man and put in a bid! It should be noted here that I've left some photos out-- there was some old con merch included that belonged to a con staff person. I figure I'll spare them the possibility of being doxed, as I'm not sure what led them to getting rid of their project doll and con merch. (Estate auctions, especially this sort of auction, are not always a result of the object owner's death-- in this case, I think that maybe the person who owned this doll sold off their belongings as a lot. They likely are still kickin'. At least I hope they are!) So, from here things got weird. I was in the process of researching (Image searching and the like) when I found that the estate sale company had also listed it...on ebay. For 800 bucks. Lol; ok. New pics led me nowhere really other than to confirm that this was, in fact, the same lot I had just bid on three days prior on an entirely different site. I was a bit anxious but obstinate. Write that on my grave.

I realized he did this probably because during our conversation I explained why the doll having, y'know, human parts wasn't all that strange? It was just a doll. With anatomy. He seemed to think that it having "male parts" made it..."adult". We both had a laugh about that. Following that I explained why I was interested in the doll-- I knew that he MAY turn around and go "oh I want more for this," but I cannot resist the urge to explain one of my hyperfixations. I guess he missed the bit where I said, "This doll is potentially worth a pretty penny-- however, without seeing it in person I have no way of knowing if it's legit or not, and most people do not want to spend much on a fake doll, which this could very well be." So uhhh...he took the first half of that sentence and tried to list the damn thing at close to the original cost for...the doll on front of the box. Which, uh, this doll is not. Nor is it in the sort of condition that would sell for 800 bucks. Whatever~! Whatever. I won the previous auction for....

Thirty Two American DollARS.

And then anxiously waited for the doll to ship to me. Which, after some trouble (The USPS did not scan the box it was sent to me in ONCE, leaving me AND the sales person very nervous.) it DID ARRIVE. HOWEVER. It arrived while I was out of town-- 14 hours out of town. Further inspection would have to wait...although I did force my buddy Mallory to unbox him to take a pic of his bod for me.

She made a point to tell me that this process was weird as all hell. "It's fine, it's art." I assured her. "I am deleting these pictures immediately. Also, I'm not putting his clothes back on." She responded. Fair enough. What an interesting fellow, though! Who's bod is this? Also he appeared to be -big sized-, which was exciting. As per usual, I turned to the BJD Discord. They pretty immediately got the bod narrowed down to a LUTS model-- this one, specifically. Rad.

The head though-- no clue. Maybe a DIM Minimee? Possibly a sculpt meant to be a specific jrocker or visual kai artist? We couldn't get it hammered out. It didn't help that the back of his head was uh... bad. It was bad. Whoever owned him previously was very obviously trying to mod him for -some reason- and had scraped off or cut out any sign of company name. Ah well. I'd have to wait till I got home to examine him in person. And GOOD NEWS. I AM HOME. I HAVE EXAMINED HIM IN PERSON. I'm losing light steadily so probably won't post for another day or so with the "Check out all the parts" update, but-- SOON. I can confirm, however, that the body looks to be legitimate. The dress, too, was unopened and very well made-- leading me to believe that it is also a legit dollfie dream outfit. As for the other bits? Not a clue. We have two heads missing the back plates and a set of hands that belong to the dollfie dream on the box. One head is still a mystery and the other seems to be a dollzone head-- slightly bigger than my previous fella, but not by much. :) So there we have it! The last doll of the year. Expect a couple more posts in regards to this massive fella.

Muhasabah diri

Kita semua pasti tau Allah itu rajanya manusia, tuhannya manusia. Yang namanya raja pasti memiliki tempat atau sebuah kerajaan. Kerajaannya Allah meliputi langit dan bumi. Dan didalam sebuah kerajaan pasti adanya sebuah aturan, aturan Allah adalah Al-Qur'an. Al-Qur'an bukan karangan ataupun editan manusia melainkan firman Tuhan yang tak pernah lekang oleh zaman. Setelah kita menyadarinya bahwa Allah adalah raja, Allah mempunyai kerajaan, Allah juga punya aturan. Maka disitulah kita akan mengetahui posisi kita sebagai apa? Jika kita adalah rakyatnya maka tugas Kita adalah tunduk dan patuh pada aturannya. Dan jika kita tidak tunduk dan patuh kepada aturannya, maka raja tidak akan mengakui kita adalah rakyatnya. Kita cuma ngaku-ngaku rakyatnya/karyawannya tapi tidak di akuinya.

Cobalah banyangkan jika hari ini Allah mengusir kita dari kerajaannya, kira-kira kita mau pindah kemana?

Sedangkan kerajaannya Allah meliputi langit dan bumi. Semuanya kepunyaan Allah Rabb semesta. Itulah mengapa susunan Al-Qur'an diawal dari surat Al-Fatihah dan di akhir surat An-Nas itu semua tanda sayang dan cintanya Allah pada makhluknya. Ngga bosan-bosannya Allah mengingatkan kita agar kita tunduk dan hanya patuh kepada aturannya, dari awal sampai akhir. Cuma kita nya seolah-olah ngga butuh sering abai. padahal Al-Qur'an yang kita baca isinya cuma dua yaitu perintah dan larangan.

Maka Al-Qur'an itu ngga cukup hanya di baca/tadarus

Ngga cukup hanya di pelajari/tadabbur

Ngga cukup hanya di pahami/tafakur

Harus di praktekan/tabayun.

Allah tidak melihat manusia dari raut dan penampilannya, bukan dari merdunya/fasih suara baca Alquran. Tapi dari hati dan perbuatannya. Karena hati itu nurani tak bisa bohong, sedangkan perbuatan itu bukti.

Sebab definisi iman itu harus di yakini dalam hati, di ucapkan dengan lisan lalu di buktikan dengan perbuatan.

Andaikan jika Allah menilainya dari merdunya panjang pendeknya dari bacanya. Itu artinya Allah pilih kasih. Karena menilainya dari fisik. Lantas gimana nasibnya orang yang gagu, yang sumbing dan yang mempunyai kekurangan lainnya yang menyebabkan suaranya atau perkataannya ngga jelas? Berarti tidak berhak masuk surga dong kalau gitu.

Itulah alasan aku lebih suka mendengar terbata-batanya seseorang disaat membaca Kalam ilahi, dari pada mendengar semerdu apapun itu seseorang sedang bernyanyi.

Itulah mengapa banyak dari kalangan ahli kitab orang yang paham, orang yang mengerti dengan isi Qur'an tidak di pandang sedikitpun oleh Allah beragama, kamu tau kenapa? Itu karena dirinya tidak mempraktekan isi Qur'an di bumi/di kerajaannya. Sebab Al-Qur'an itu adalah aturan dan aturan itu adalah sebuah sistem.

قُلْ يٰۤـاَهْلَ الْـكِتٰبِ لَسْتُمْ عَلٰى شَيْءٍ حَتّٰى تُقِيْمُوا التَّوْرٰٮةَ وَا لْاِ نْجِيْلَ وَمَاۤ اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْكُمْ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ ۗ وَلَيَزِيْدَنَّ كَثِيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ مَّاۤ اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَّبِّكَ طُغْيَا نًا وَّكُفْرًا ۚ فَلَا تَأْسَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ

"Katakanlah (Muhammad), "Wahai Ahli Kitab! Kamu tidak dipandang beragama sedikit pun hingga kamu menegakkan ajaran-ajaran Taurat, Injil, dan (Al-Qur'an) yang diturunkan Tuhanmu kepadamu." Cobalah banyangkan andaikan kita punya temen dekat ketemu di jalan pas udah berhadapan eh dianya malah buang muka, apa yang akan kita rasa? Pasti hati kita akan bertanya-tanya, dia kenapa ada apa dan salah kita apa. Begitu juga dengan Allah, Allah empet Allah en'nek Allah males ngeliat orang yang ngga mau nurut kepada aturannya, padahal Kita di ciptakan oleh Allah, di kasih rezeki oleh Allah, dll sampai numpang makan tidur, modol di buminya Allah.

Tapi tetap Allah tak henti-hentinya mengingatkan kita. Karena Allah maha pengampun, pemurah penyayang. Agar kita bertakwa dengan sebenar-benarnya takwa. Taat sebenar-benarnya taat dan takut sebenar-benarnya takut. Jangan sampai ngakalin kalau ada maunya baru taat dan takut. Bukankah orang yang taat itu pasti takut dan orang yang takut pasti akan taat.

Kalau begitu berarti masih banyak orang yang ngga takut kepada ancaman yang Allah sudah janjikan yaitu hari pembalasan. Saking maha pengampun_Nya Allah, Allah mengingatkan kembali janganlah kita mati kecuali sudah menyerahkan diri sepenuhnya kepada Allah.

Lalu kapan kita untuk angkat tangan di hadapan Allah? Mengakui bahwa aturan Allah lah yang berhak kita ikuti, bukan aturan-aturan yang lain.

يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ حَقَّ تُقٰتِهٖ وَلَا تَمُوْتُنَّ اِلَّا وَاَ نْـتُمْ مُّسْلِمُوْنَ

"Wahai orang-orang yang beriman! Bertakwalah kepada Allah sebenar-benar takwa kepada-Nya dan janganlah kamu mati kecuali dalam keadaan muslim."

Research 5.1: Mold making

In the tutorial, I was presented with the idea of using ceramic, in particular porcelane to create the tins and I love the idea. So the first step is create a mold. Alginate is normally use for skin molding only because it deteriorate easely but it create very detail and intrincated modols so I so it was a great idea.

Mold Making Technique: Alginate Hand Mold

In this video they show you how to make a mold with algate so you can have a positive in other materials.

Pros:

very detail molds

can be used in skin

expensive

can not be reuse.

How to Make a Mold (CHEAP)

Because it was quite expesive other material I was thinking on using this a methodo like this ones.

Pros:

Cheap

easy to find in any local shop

Cons

difficult to used (no as simple as it is in the video)

takes ages to create a mold

no very detail

the resing stick to the material...

In the end, it is not that cheap. takes time and you waist a lot of product.

Vinamold

This is one of my favourite metodes to create a mold. I have ised this before so I have some expirience with it.

pros:

Expensive at first but it can be reuse so long term is super cheap

it is not bad for the enviroment because can be resued

easy to use, like super easy

does not take to much time to set

cons

you need to cook it so you can burn yourself

you need a conteiner that con hold hot things, it cannot be a plastic cap

you can get bubles of air in the mold.

Latex

I cannot used latex for epoxy resin.
