Today I found this fabulous old model shop in #Nottingham . It’s for sale as a going concern. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and full of banter. I really hope that someone buys it and keeps it going. It would be such a shame for the region to lose a gem of a store like this! Whoever takes it on has to be aware that the Internet is a thing, but you have to sell online too. If I was a train enthusiast and I wanted to pick up a new engine for my model railway but chances are I probably would go into the store and pick it up and have a good look at it and chat to the staff, but if I just want to buy 10 bags of flock to make a diorama for the train sidings, I can do that by buying online it’s cheaper and it’s easier. That doesn’t make the bricks and mortar store any less valuable though.
