after watching ep 3, I am fairly confident that Whitepine is about the consequences on denial, forcefully trying to move on, being so against change because of the comfort of the same routine you've grown accustomed to. How long will you ignore the itching ache, clawing at the back of your mind until you finally admit that Mysty's dead? You can't ignore her forever you know? forever try to ignore the feeling that someone is gone forever yet their traces are still left the Hemlocke estate?
You can't ignore the body that's still warm.
Whitepine is about grief and interpersonal relationships, can anybody hear me?
also sidenote, I FUCKING KNEWWWW IT!!!! SERAPTOR HAS ISSUES I CHEERED SOO LOUD !!!

This is literally just a hunch I have that has no evidence for. I think that the forest is going to represent trauma, specifically Ivory’s and Pyro’s. Ivory clearly has something in her past that has deeply beat submission into her, and from Pyro’s nightmares, vomiting (which I actually think is from emotional stress rather than sickness), and his long staring into the forest, something is clearly deeply troubling him as well. The forest is menacing, large and looming at the periphery at all times. It’s almost alluring, much like how trauma can linger in the back of your mind, asking you to stare into its vastness and get lost in the memories. Idk, maybe I’m just looking into smth that is going to have a much more literal meaning as the series goes on.
There’s definitely been *something* going on in the forest. We get repeated shots of it, and it is only ever welcoming and sunny once.
And that scene is a minute or two prior to Mysti’s imminent death.

Ive talked about this before in lore chat in ivory's discord server, but I don't think this is a murder mystery. I think either something followed ivory into the mansion, or somethingwas waiting for her.
Now to get it out of the way, I am so so on if the "lore" of dimension hopper ivory is connected. With her forgetting to eat, odd connection to the spruce forest, and popping up on the streets unclothed, I thought it was connected at first.
However, after having lore ppl on discord "spam "TRAUMA" at me enough times I'm unconfident.
I also don't think it's Ebony, seeing as she is the better half of the pair and may not even be cannon.
Anyway, me rambles :p
(Hi!! So I’m actually pretty new to Ivory’s side of the fandom, but I’m super curious about this Ebony + dimension hopper stuff if you have a proper way to explain it!!)
Ooh, I *love* the idea of her being followed..that’s so fun, that she potentially brought the danger without meaning to. Id love to hear more on thatttt!!!

Love how literally everyone agrees something's Wrong with WP!Pyro
anyways, not really a theory, I guess an anit-theory.
I'm almost 100% sure Clown did not commit the murder. Its for doyalist reasons not watsonian ones so idk if this counts as cheating. Anyways, he just got done playing a mastermind evil villain in KSMP so I don't think they'd do the same here. Plus while it is ClownPierce Mr. Deadliest Minecraft Player *vine boom sound effect* having him be the murderer would be too predictable. Heck we don't even know if WP!Clown has any combat ability. I do think they're gonna use his reputation as a misdirect though.
Don't get me wrong he probably knows more than he lets on, but I doubt it has to do with the murder.
Or maybe I'm overthinking this, anyways, have a nice day!

See I don’t suspect Pyro purely because I think he had some sort of bond with Mysti. Especially with how he reacted to her death was very telling, but maybe some people see it as an exaggeration. Also yeah CLOWn of all people is not about to be a villain considering his rep lol!!
#btw turning on subtitles during Mysti’s death scene it’ll show you what’s being said!#mod mossii#whitepine#mysticat#pyroscythe#clownpierce#🌊 anon

Not really a theoooryy more a poorly constructed ramble but but but!! The piano in the house is implied to be played by the mother and music so far in this series has been non diegetic sound, meaning the piano is the first music from inside the world of the series, and after the piano is played someone is murdered,,,
So maybe the piano being played foreshadows the murders? Maybe the mother played it before whatever happened to her? Anyway I claim a 🍄 I will the shroom anon on every mcyt blog that exists because I am the shrooms.
-🍄
The foreshadowing as far as we know is already excellent in Whitepine, and this is very possible!!
Especially, since we didn’t even get to hear Ivory play. The first note was cut off, just like Mysti’s life was abruptly over. Maybe that cut off note even represented Mysti’s likely cut off screams, before her throat was sliced as shown in the cinematic scene of their body.

I have a mini theory, i think whoever did the muder is part of the Hemlocke family, or is from the family and knows who did it (for example if the murderer is a creature from the forest) and is trying to put the blame on ivory. Becase from the recent town artircle especulating the blame is on the staff+ how much we see the diference of the family and their workers and the general class elements is easy to say it could be one of the sinplings or the dad
And in the interrogation scene where the detectives seen surprised to know that ivory had been there for less than a week, its strange to me that the Hemlockes woulnt give the basic info about the people who work there, and is clear that the police thinks ivory is suspicious. Which inst hard, i mean she dosent apear to have family, a place to go or people to defend her besides maybe seraptor and they could say she did it to have a heir position as assistant....althougth i dint came up with a reason for wanting to "protect" for a lack of a better word a supposed creature from the forest.
I have seen some people (cough 🐀 anon) accuse Pyro, but out of anyone in the family, he seems the least likely. The entire episode he was devestated by her death, and seemed to genuinely care for her.
I can see Zombie having hired someone to get rid of her though for whatever reason.

I know I'm the "vampire theory guy" but I honestly am starting to doubt that a normal person could have pulled off the murder. its just unlikely at this point.
My reason for thinking so is simple, Mysti was in full uniform, and Pyro was fully dressed. Let me explain. According to Seraptor its' the maids' job to make sure the Hemlocks clothes are laid out and whatnot, (while ep 1 did show that Pyro is capable of doing it himself, Mysti was surprised he was up, so its not a common occurrence) and Seraptor also says that the Hemlocks usually wake up around 10:00 at the earliest. Right before Mysti is discovered, all of the others are in the kitchen, presumably preparing lunch given when the Hemlocks wake up. Therefore Mysti would have been found around 12:00pm.
That timeline does not line up for a normal person. They'd need to: Attend to whichever family member they're responsible for, Then murder Mysti, then wash or dispose of their clothes, then change, all without someone noticing they're gone.
Plus, according to the newspaper in the trailer, Mysti was stabbed so brutally certain parts of her body were severed. Where the hell is the blood? there should be a heck of a lot more if that was the case. Not to mention, who would go through the trouble of moving her body if it was in pieces.
However, the vampire theory accounts for this by limiting how much blood would spill, because the vampire would have drunk it all.
-🌊 anon
I’d like to note - It very much seems like someone almost tried to sever Mysti’s head if you look at the back of their neck. It’s covered in blood, as if they had been sawing through before realizing they were running out of time before they got caught.
Also, from what I can tell, it seems like we know who found Mysti’s body. Bit, guessing by the way she was being interrogated by the police. I wonder if that’s why Clown told him to ride in the car, knowing they’d be grilled pretty hard.

to my knowledge, ivory has never played a character who isn't violent and at least a bit morally fucked up (whether she's an anti-hero or a villain). i think we are going to see a darker side to wp!ivory as the series progresses.
—🦜
I 100% agree -
Whitepine in general seems like it’s going down a dark path, straight from the beginning. Seeing a mutilated body isn’t exactly ‘cheerful’ vibes for the start of a career as a maid!
I really, really hope we do see a disconnect from the reality of death, of how final it is, from Ivory though. I think it would be interesting!

Okay, so this theory is partially based on VEX1N's Whitepine theory.
I'm gonna start with the most normal part, and the part that can most easily be taken as kinda a mini theory. Basically Pyroscythe has tuberculosis. All the symptoms line up (coughing, vomiting, etc) and Whitepine's a period drama, TB is pretty common in those and adjacent genres, plus was an actual threat back then.
Now onto the more insane part. Okay so one of the things that VEX1N points out is how the wound on Mysti's neck resembles a bite mark. TB was also associated with vampires and vampire attacks in the past. When Mysti asks Pyro if he had a bad dream, another symptom of vampire attacks, he dodges the question. I'm saying that the killer in Whitepine is a vampire. This is out there I know that, but hear me out. (most of the evidence for this comes from both the New England Vampire Panic, and Dracula, also random bits of vampire lore I've heard)
First things first, there's pretty clearly something wrong with those woods. All the shots lingering on them, the ominous sound design, there's something off. When Pyro is staring out his window, we see that his room seems closer to the woods than other spaces in the house. This means that if something malicious were in those woods, he'd be the easiest person to get to. The camera is also always in some kind of corner when Pyro's alone, almost like its stalking him.
Mrs. Hemlock is pretty clearly dead. It's implied she's been dead for a while (or at least a few months) given no one mentions her and her piano is in the basement. While I can't prove she's a vampire, at least not from ep 1 alone, its plausible. If we do go with the "Pyro's TB is caused by a vampire" theory, then that does point to Mrs. Hemlock being the cause as it was thought that if one family member fell to vampirism, more would soon follow. She'd also circumvent the whole "needing to be invited" thing cause it was her house.
While this is the part I'm even less sold on, it could also tie back to Ivory. Her habits remind me of two bits of vampire lore. The first one is how if you spill poppy seeds in front of a vampire they'll stop and need to count them all. While its more specific than what she does, it fits how she follows things to the letter. Does this mean I think Ivory's a vampire? No, I think she might be a dhampir. Dhampirs are half vampires, they can live like normal people and don't get burned by sunlight. However, in some superstitions they have "a dark mark on the back like a tail." While Ivory's tail isn't particularly dark, it felt wrong to not call it out.
The second thing it reminds me of is how, in Dracula, vampires can control people through force-feeding them their blood. This could also explain Ivory's weird way of carrying out orders.
I'll admit the Ivory stuff is probably the weakest part of the theory, overall it relies a little too much on obscure lore, but when I heard there was a possibility it could be a monster, I couldn't not mention vampires. I'm almost 100% certain Pyro has TB though.
idk if we're allowed to sign off but in case we are -🌊 anon
(Yup! Sign offs are completely allowed!)
As a lover of vampires, I adore this theory so so much - Plus, I’ve become a bit fond of Pyro too over the past few days.
I don’t honestly have anything to add, this is great plus I love the explanation behind Pyro’s vomiting and that he’s the easiest to get to from the forest to absolute bits - Would love to hear more thoughts on this theory. Particularly on your theory of how she might’ve died after acquiring vampirism!

I have a refined vampire theory to share! (a lot of this is repeat but there will be brackets for new evidence)
Before the events of the series, Ivory is born to a vampire mother and a human father (or vice versa doesn’t really matter) making her a dhampir. She’s born neurodivergent, probably a form of autism. Her tail is from being a dhampir. At some point she runs away for unknown reasons and is found by MinuteTech.
Also before the series starts, Div_y comes into contact with a vampire, becoming its’ thrall [I initially thought he might be a vampire himself because he isn't seen eating anything during episodes one or two, but since we see him in the sun he's more likely to be a thrall. The reason I've zeroed in on Div_y specifically is both that he's been sus in ep 2 and that on NameMC his profile is unavailable, possibly because it contains spoilers?]. The vampire has him get a job with the Hemlocks for their own purposes. The vampire, after using Div_y to scout out the house, starts feeding off of and kills Mrs. Hemlock. Since Mrs. Hemlock died from a vampire’s bite, she also rises and begins feeding off her oldest son, Pyroscythe [there's obviously all the TB symptoms I showed in the first draft, but the scene where Ivory's drawing a bath also stood out because of how uncomfortable he seems. Its common folkloric belief that vampires dislike running water. I'll admit its shaky ground but its more supplemental to everything else]. The vampire possibly loosens their grip on Div_y after this point allowing them more freedom.
During the series:
Ivory is recruited by MinuteTech and starts working for the Hemlocks. She feels a connection to the woods, possibly sensing the vampiric activity within. Pyroscythe has only gotten worse, the vampirism has progressed so far that he’s having nightmares and is violently ill. He thinks the disease is TB but doesn’t want anyone to know, not even Mysti; it is unclear if she or anyone else may have figured it out (the TB not the vampirism). It is unclear if Div_y is still spying on the Hemlocks; it's certainly possible, but if he is he definitely has more freedom.
A vampire, either the one connected to Ivory or Mrs. Hemlock, brutally kills Mysti for an unknown reason . Possibly mistaking them for Ivory [from a distance or from behind they look very similar][Mysti's time of death seems to be narrowed down to when she was discovered, and honestly I doubt someone could kill her that quickly]. This leads to the interrogation and Detective Bormethius becoming suspicious of everyone in the house. Jury’s still out on whether or not he knows what he’s doing.
There is a possibility that Mrs. Hemlock is also feeding on Zombie [the Hemlock kids don't seem to see him very often at least not at dinner based on the first ep, maybe its cause he's sick like Pyro], and/or that Zombie is partially aware of the vampires. I doubt he’s fully aware however as he likely wouldn’t let his children into the woods to hunt if he was aware of the vampires. Or maybe he would, he seems like kinda a dick.
I have more evidence, I'm just unsure of how to work it into this theory cause its worded very watsonian and the other reasons are doyalist. For example I already mentioned that the camera seems to be stalking everyone in Whitepine with the way its always positioned in a corner. However, I also noticed that the camera does seem to follow or show the perspective of 2 characters, Pyroscythe, and Ivory, the two characters I suspect have something to do with the vampires. Assuming I'm right about the camera thing, the camera showing the perspective of the two characters most associated with the vampires makes sense. They're not being framed as prey like the others, because they're not prey, they're predators.
I also have suspicions on what being "outed" means although I'm not 100% sure about them or how they tie in, so I'll keep that in the doc for now
as always sorry for yapping, hope you enjoy! -🌊 anon
Posting this for other people to enjoy, I’ll try and add my thoughts on because this is lovely when I’m not in school (if I remember)!!

Im gonna be entirely honest i think pyro does have some connection to the thing in the forest, or he is the thing in the forest
He’s sick with some type of disease and only misty knew about it, and I think that alone makes it like… sus
