Hey, felt like doing my own canon call.

This is for my Dave Vantas timeline or as I call it, the "Bulletproof Timeline". A timeline in which SBURB did happen, and the kids were still human and the trolls were still trolls, although swaps were involved.

I'm looking for anyone who remembers this timeline, but especially Rose Serket, Dirk Vantas and Bro Vantas.

I was a transguy and I think I was albino. I also think I godtiered as a Knight of Blood. I had a fling with Jade Nitram and Rose Serket and possibly Tavros Stridr and Latula Captor at some point.

I was also pretty mean spirited and had a tendency to lash out at people.

I had to unlearn some toxic masculinity I picked up from my Bro who was always tryna teach me how to "be a man". He always measured how much he was willing to treat me as my prefered gender by how well I could fight and fit his gender norms. I also remember he wore a semi-reflective gray polo.

Dirk and I butted heads a lot and just like Bro, I think he was really skeptical about seeing me as a man, although he was a lot more subtle about it. I know that we got into at least one physical altercation after I godtiered, although I think it happened more than once. He also had that Kankri-esque vibe of pseudo-concern about him. I also think he wore a red sweater.

Rose had a cerulean streak in her hair. We both may have been Prospit dreamers? Although I could be mixing that up with one of my Dave Strider canons... I do know, though, that just as I sometimes talked in all caps, I believe she sometimes used the 8 quirk when working with divination. I think she was also pretty attached to a crystal ball she owned.

I also think I was pretty close with John Makara and Gamzee Peixes. I have a vague memory of being in a pile with Gamzee, and I know John was hella supportive.

Hello!!! Tired John here with a request for some positivity because I recently had a pendulum reading say I wouldn't find my Dad which makes me super sad because I'm so canonsick for him it hurts and idk what to do ;^;

Heya, Tired John!!

So, first of all, don’t take a pendulum’s replies to be 100% perfect. Pendulums usually give you the most likely answer. It’s kind of like being a Seer of Time, in a way! They can see every timeline possible, and they narrow them down until they find the one that they think is most likely. So asking a pendulum “will I find x?” will give you an answer that they, from looking at all the timelines, think is most likely to occur. Of course, when you think of it that way, it means there’s a lot of wiggle room! You just asked for a yes/no answer; that means every single timeline possible got shoved into a yes/no category, and your pendulum went with the group that looked bigger. 

Pendulums can have off days. Sometimes they’re sure they have the answer, and it’s a little wrong. Sometimes the timelines just decide to change on their own, cus timelines are fickle things! For instance, my pendulum, Hal - I consider him to be almost perfect. He’s right most of the time, he’s never answered a wrong question for me… so on a really bad day, I asked him if I’d find a specific canonmate. He said no. And I was heartbroken. But! I asked him that specifically when I felt like I would never, ever find this canonmate. I probably influenced him a little - because a friend did a secondary reading, and she got a yes. 

Try not to lose Hope. Losing Hope is the absolute worst thing you can do. Tell yourself, “okay, so the pendulum said this, but I’m going to keep hoping anyway”. The worst that happens? The pendulum was right, but you proved to yourself that you weren’t going to give up on him no matter what. The best that could happen? You find him, and you’re nicely surprised. It’s a tricky one, but it’s not the worst situation! You can always, always put a positive spin onto things like this. There’s always a way to make sure that you don’t get your hopes up too much, but don’t wholly give up, either. 

Of course, if the worst comes to the worst and you can’t find him… it doesn’t hurt to find another Dad. It sounds cheap, I know, but sometimes just talking to someone who shares the kin can help calm canon sickness. I haven’t found my bro yet, but talking to Mod D really helps when I’m feeling bad about it, or when I’m starting to miss him. It’s close enough to calm the canonsickness and make me think “well now I just feel more determined to find him”, but in a positive way. It’s weird, yeah, but it might help. If not that, then reblogging stuff that reminds you of him, or fanart of him, might help. Even doing something as small as baking or buying cupcakes might help. 

The pendulum reading isn’t the end of it all, I promise.

Canon call from a Kankri who misses his Cronus! We were matesprites (I think), but there was some kind of rift in our relationship after an incident with a dream bubble (I had seen memories of my Cronus as Dualscar, catching me as the Signless). This was only because I told him after some prompting and Cronus blamed himself for his alt-self's actions. Also, my Cronus wasn't abusive towards Mituna. could i get some self care suggestions for a jade harley (godtiered but didnt merge with bec) who crushed on and maybe was even in a relationship with her ectosibling june eg8ert (june who kinned vriska / merged with vriska to an extent)? i miss june and i miss my powers and i miss my other friends. i miss how i looked (my hair is too blonde and my eyes are too blue and im far too skinny) and my lovely godtier pajamas, but any advice or posativity or products you can reccomend would be so good!!

oh also, re: the last jade harley (the one missing her june eg8ert), some extra info is that we spent time together on the battleship and started to work through her gender together. how vriska was involved is blurry so it could be before or after that, but being together on the battleship was such a great time and i miss that too. i also miss prospit, if that helps.

Canonsickness really sucks, so I hope I can suggest a few things here and there to help.

First off, if you're missing Prospit, why not get some Prospit pajamas? I had the Derse version of 'em for a lil' while, and they were really comfortable!

Having a routine can help keep your mind occupied and promote a positive mental outlook. Taking care of yourself is essiential and boosts your overall well-being. Perhaps indulging in a face mask now and again could help cheer you up! Here's a link for a how-to article on making a DIY blueberry face mask.

Also, try to keep organized! Maybe even keep all your memories together in a cute notebook to look back upon fondly. It will make it easier to look for canonmates if you choose to do so and it can be a nice controlled dose of nostalgia when you're feeling particularly canonsick.

I really hope you're able to reunite with your June soon. She sounds like a really cool girl. Keep your head up in the meantime, Jade. Everything is gonna be alright.

Hey Dave,

That ain't lame at all. It sucks to deal with canonsickness. There's an awful lot of people I sure wish I could find or reconnect with; Daves and Bros among them. I know it's hard to be away from the ones you care about.

Try to look at it this way: the distance between you and your Bro right now gives you a chance to evolve. It gives both of you a chance to grow and change as people in a way that may have never been possible in the timeline you shared. It's a chance to reinvent yourself and grow as a person so that if you manage to meet again, you can present an even better version of yourself than who you were before. As sentient beings, we are all constantly changing and maturing, and that's a good thing.

That being said, I don't know if i'm your Bro, but as a Bro, I support and emphasize with you. I hope that you get reunited with him someday soon, and that the reunion is everything you ever hoped it would be. For now, though? I'm always here to lend an ear. Keep your head up, Davey.
