Another big flush of flowers from the Murraya or Mock Orange (murraya paniculata), also known as orange jasmine, orange jessamine and china box, is native to South Asia, Southeast Asia and Australia. It has fragrant white or cream-coloured flowers and oval, orange-red berries. It does self seed and can be a problem if allowed to escape to the bush. If you find an established bush you may find young ones growing under it. The young ones re-pot or transplant really easily. One pic is a plant that is ready to bonsai. #murraya #MockOrange #MurrayaPaniculata #flowers #abcmygarden #OrangeJasmine #ChinaBox #bonsai (at Belmont, New South Wales, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpmV-DzPTz5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Jenny and I visited mum today and she was pretty good! Sharing her words of wisdom and knitting her trauma teddies! Jenny lay in mum’s room most of the time feeling miserable because she hates the cone of shame! Her hotspot is healing and I’m hoping her updated beck collar is in the mail tomorrow! She was so good with the elderly folk making sure she spent time with them in the lounge area and refusing to move on! Gorgeous roses from my garden which I took to mum to brighten her day! Mum was quite vocal today with her pearls of wisdom! She’s still knitting the trauma teddies! #lindalinda #101 #lindathelivinglegend #lindaswordsofwisdom #pearlsofwisdom #rosesofinstagram #frenchroses #nahema #madamebérard #mockorange #lavenderflowers #jennymaremma #coneofshame #hotspot #nursinghomelife #mumsie (at Cowes Phillip Island) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkxYk5xPG42/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

You could say the artichoke starts were an impulse purchase! You could also say they were an easy decision to make based on my knowledge that they ought to be perennials in my garden and have long been on my "if only" wishlist, plus they were only $3 each so what was I supposed to do, not buy them???? (I did have "veg starts?" on my list so TECHNICALLY they were on the list.)

Plant of the Day
Friday 22 May 2020
Variegated shrubs can be useful for lighting up a shaded part of the garden with Philadelphus coronarius 'Variegatus' (variegated mock orange) being great for this task. The deciduous shrub has leaves with a broad cream margin and in early summer white, strongly scented flowers. This plant responds to pruning after flowering and grows well in partial shade.

I am dreaming of my new garden. What would I like it to be? How would I like it to feel? How will I spent my time in it? How much work will I happily put into it? For the longest of time I feel drawn to white gardens. To be precise to green and white gardens. There is something about the color white that I find so soothing and peaceful. I feel I am getting a break, I can rest. I am thinking to try to keep the front yard all in green and white. But will it be boring in the long run? Will I be disciplined enough to stick to this color scheme? Will there be enough white flowering plants in Central Texas? Is this too artificial, too contrived? Many questions that I don’t know the answers to, yet, and that’s OK. The lovely blossoms featured in the image belong to a particularly beautiful mock orange variety with the name Philadelphus ‚Snowbelle‘. I took the photo on one of my trips to England. All of you who celebrate Easter, I am wishing a lovely Easter weekend! For most of us it will be quite different from what we are used to, I certainly will miss having an Easter brunch with friends, but let’s try to make the best out of it! That is all we can do, really! . . . #mockorange #mockorangeblossoms #white #whiteflowers #whitegardens #moongarden #moongardens #blossoms #whiteblossoms #fortheloveofwhite #philadelphus #philadelphussnowbelle #austintexas #austin #centraltexas #texas #england #newgarden # garden #gardens gardening #gardendesign (at Austin, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-18LEtA9Pg/?igshid=1nizpjq3i3crw
