Fatima Shbair wins the Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award
© photo: Fatima Shbair / text: IWMF
Brazilian and Iranian-Canadian women photographers also recognized
[September 29, 2021 – WASHINGTON, DC] – Today, the International Women’s Media Foundation presented Palestinian freelance photojournalist Fatima Shbair with the seventh annual Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award. Since 2015, the international award has honored women photojournalists who take risks to capture humanity in dire circumstances, illuminating underreported and sometimes silenced stories. The prestigious award was created in honor of German Associated Press photojournalist Anja Niedringhaus, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2014.
Shbair’s portfolio rose above more than 100 applications that represented women photojournalists from more than 40 countries. At 24 years old, Shbair is the youngest winner of the ‘Anja Award’ to-date and is a self-taught, freelance photojournalist. Her portfolio, “11 Days of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict,” includes unique moments of tension, violence, devastation, and hope all captured from Gaza City in May 2021.
“Life here is different, and I had to find a way to [show] what was happening,” says Shbair from Gaza. “Despite successive wars and tragedies, people here dig deep in search of hope, and their lives matter – it’s my responsibility to convey their voices to the world.” Shbair continued: “Anja’s work gives us the determination to continue on the path despite the difficulties. I can’t find the words to describe how honored I feel to receive this award.”
The IWMF also recognized two other women photojournalists with honorable mentions in the competition: Brazilian photojournalist Adriana Zehbrauskas, currently working in Phoenix, Arizona, and Iranian-Canadian photographer Kiana Hayeri, who is based in Kabul, Afghanistan. Zehbrauskas’ portfolio included energetic yet sensitive portrayals of migration and the toll of COVID-19 in Latin America, while Hayeri’s work spotlighted the rising conflict and looming crisis in Afghanistan from an alternative perspective.
“Within the past two years so many communities worldwide have been pushed to the brink in order to survive,” says the IWMF’s Executive Director Elisa Lees Muñoz. “Anja’s focus on resilience, hope and the intimate struggles people face in times of crisis is a legacy we turn to now more than ever. The IWMF is thrilled to recognize this year’s winner, Fatima Shbair, as well as Kiana Hayeri and Adriana Zehbrauskas in Anja’s name.”
This year’s jury included Corinne Dufka, Jacqueline Larma, Robert Nickelsberg, Tara Pixley, and Bernadette Tuazon. Together, the committee issued the following statement on this year’s Anja Award selection: “The portfolios from this year’s winner and honorees draw in the viewer and continue to grow with impact and intimacy. Each photojournalist demonstrated remarkable tenacity and developed clear and close bonds with her subject, accessing what few photographers can convey. We congratulate Fatima, Adriana and Kiana on their remarkable work; Anja would be proud to recognize each of you.”
Anja Niedringhaus was a recipient of the IWMF Courage in Journalism Award in 2005. The winner’s $20,000 prize is made possible by the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. Honorees’ images and captions, biographies and headshots are available for media use with proper attribution; to inquire further, please contact Charlotte Fox ([email protected]).
Courage in Photojournalism Award Winner
This year’s winner, Fatima Shbair, is a Palestinian freelance photojournalist from Gaza City.
After studying business administration for three years at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, Shbair switched to study journalism and began concentrating on photojournalism in 2019 through independent study and working in the field.
In 2020, Shbair began to receive assignments from several international agencies, including Getty Images and The New York Times, to cover her hometown as tensions continued between Israel and Palestine. Her assignments increased in 2021 but came with the challenge of working during a global pandemic, which also strained and ravaged her own community. Shbair is currently a contributor to Everyday Middle East and continues her work with Getty Images. Her work has been exhibited in Palestine, the UAE, London, and Paris.
As a women photojournalist, Shbair’s gender and line of work are challenged daily, due to the conservative nature of society in Gaza, and the prevenance of male photojournalists in the industry.
Juror Dufka noted, “Fatima’s stunning photo essay is one of the strongest entries the jury had the pleasure of reviewing these past several years. Her work with light, angles, and composition is remarkable as she weaves through a forest of destruction in her own backyard.”
Juror Larma continued, “She clearly spent a great deal of time with her subjects and pursued what’s beyond obvious for most photojournalists. Within these 11 days, Fatima took the time to pursue intimate storytelling, showing us both the physical and emotional toll on her subjects while operating in extreme danger.”
From Gaza, Shbair further remarked: “Courage is not just about taking risks; being human first is the true courage of a photojournalist. It is a great honor to receive this award, especially in Anja’s image, as we are all still learning from her creativity, journey, and pursuit of the truth.”

Courage in Photojournalism Honorees
Honoree Kiana Hayeri was born and partially raised in Iran and was first introduced to photography in high school after her family moved to Canada. Hayeri left Toronto during her final year of university and traveled to Afghanistan on assignment in 2013, where she’s remained.
In 2021, Hayeri received the Robert Capa Gold Medal for her photographic series, “Where Prison is Kind of a Freedom,” documenting the lives of Afghan women in Herat Prison. In 2020, she received the Tim Hetherington Visionary award and was named as the 6th recipient of the James Foley Award for Conflict Reporting.
Hayeri was an IAAB fellow in 2011 and completed a CIS artist residency at MIT University in 2012. In 2014, she was named as one of the emerging photographers by PDN 30 Under 30. In 2016, she was selected for the IWMF’s cross-border reporting fellowship to work on her proposed story in Rwanda and DRC and was selected as the recipient of Chris Hondros Fund Award as an emerging photographer. In 2017, Hayeri received a grant from European Journalism Center to do a series of reporting on gender equality out of Afghanistan and received Stern Grant in 2018 to continue her work on the state of mental health among Afghan women.
Hayeri is a Senior TED fellow, and her work has appeared in The New York Times, Le Monde, Harper’s Magazine, Washington Post, NPR, Monocle Magazine, Wall Street Journal, Marie Clare, Glamour, The Globe and Mail, Al Jazeera America, and CBC, among others.
When reviewing Hayeri’s portfolio, Tuazon noted that, “These images can only be captured by a woman with her specific access and lens. Every single day in this portfolio demonstrates unbelievable courage as the women and children she illuminates convey a harrowing narrative.”

Adriana Zehbrauskas is a Brazilian documentary photographer based in Phoenix, Arizona. Her work is largely focused on issues related to migration, religion, human rights, underrepresented communities, and the violence resulting from the drug trade in Mexico, Central and South America.
Zehbrauskas contributes regularly to The New York Times, UNICEF and BuzzFeed News and her work has been widely published in outlets such as The New Yorker, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Stern, Le Monde and El País, among others.
She is the recipient of a 2021 Maria Moors Cabot Prize, a New York Press Club Award in Feature-Science Medicine and Technology in the Newspaper category for the article “Zika’s Legacy: Catastrophic Consequences of a Continuing Crisis (NY-2018) and a POY International (2019). She was a finalist for the Premio Gabo (2018) and received two Honorable Mentions at the Julia Margaret Cameron Award (2018).
Zehbrauskas is one of the three photographers profiled in the documentary “Beyond Assignment” (USA, 2011, produced by The Knight Center for International Media and the University of Miami. She’s a recipient of the first Getty Images Instagram Grant and was awarded Best Female Photojournalist -Troféu Mulher Imprensa (Brazil). Her mobile photography work was selected by Time Magazine for the “29 Instagrams That Defined the World in 2014″ and her project on Faith in Brazil and Mexico was awarded an Art & Worship World Prize by the Niavaran Artistic Creation Foundation.
She’s an instructor with the International Center of Photography (ICP- NY), the World Press Photo Foundation, Gabriel García Márquez’s Fundación Gabo, the Foundry Photojournalism Workshop and serves as a jury member to dozens of grants and awards worldwide.
Commenting on Zehbrauskas’ portfolio, juror Pixley said, “The strength of her images is indicative of a lengthy time occupying difficult spaces despite both health and safety concerns. Her consistency across countries, issues and movements reveals the same, unique human connection.”

Seventeen ships as Sibling AU (JunHao version)
Mingyoozi version here
Another SVT ship as sibling au~!
Now is up to you to decide that you are either older than them both or younger than them both. I will recommend to be the youngest sibling but i will keep my headcanon list flexible as i can (*Mingyoozi I recommended to be middle sibling tho)
Blood related or related only by parent’s second marriage or only blood related to one of them is do able,
So not intentionally but I think linking the universe would be fun
Both of them work as idol (how lucky you are!!!)
Junhui will occasionally acts in web drama, while Minghao will occasionally make appearance in competition shows.
You are the only sibling who is not idol, Or,
You are also an idol, soloist (Making the whole world jealous of you)
Bonus if you are related to Minghao and Junhui joining the family later both of them debut. Or in reverse, related to Junhui and Minghao joins later also will be fun.
Bonus if you are not Chinese, hearing them speaks in Chinese will spark you interest of learning the language. Cues in them two teaching you phrases of Chinese.
BUT if you are Chinese too, 3 of you speaking the language will leave others with their mouth open.
Favourite spot to eat/hang out if any of the sibling gets an award or achievement would be Mingyu’s family restaurant
Close to the Mingyoozi household because of
Jihoon as songcomposer and being same age as Junhui,
Minghao and Mingyu are close in terms their artistic sense and being same age.
Mingyu cooks spicy food too which Junhui loves alot, and Junhui will occasionally suggest new menu for the restaurant.
If you are not related to Jun
When you first joined the household, you are amazed at how good he look.
You thought he is very quiet and distant because he keep looking at his phone or gaming (Gaming partner is Wonwoo, long story short, Junhui got acquainted with Wonwoo while shooting another drama!)
Shooketh af at your brother’s career if you are not an idol.
Shooketh af if you already know who he is and you basically you interrogate your parent on how did they got to date with the superstar’s parent.
Basically having a identity crisis because both of your brothers are idol
Got frightened in the morning at Jun who got back from work and is sleeping on the sofa with his eyes half open.
Made a big mistake about him being distant and hard to get familiar with. Only to find out actually he is just being shy.
Once he got acquainted with you, be prepared for the awkward jokes that make you either roll you eyes or laugh to death.
Amazed at the level of spiciness in food he can handle. Start to wonder if chilli powder and chilli flakes are just like basil to him
Bonus if you can handle similar spiciness as Junhui. He will bring you out to some restaurant he found and a weird spicy eating compeition between you two will be held
Amazed at his acting skills and singing. Felt the world need to see him shine more.
If you are into gaming or tiktok or weird filter apps, you will get close to him quicker.
Amazed at his selca skills. Cues in you shyly approaching Junhui to teach you some of his tips.
Jun talks to you about the script of his web drama and ask you be the first hand audience. So you are basically spoiled with the storyline of the drama
Junhui being loud in his room practising his upcoming solo song.
Thinks Junhui imitating others is the cutest trait he has.
You are surprised that he can cook some basic meals. Since then both of you are seen helping out each other in the kitchen.
Might caught him stroking a cat around the neighbourhood. Also him meowing.
If you are related to Jun
If you are the youngest, you get alot of piggy backs and ride on his shoulder.
You damn proud because you do feel Junhui is talented and need to shine.
Already used to all his jokes and puns that he tries to execute on variety shows because he has been trying them out on you and Minghao
Also used to jump scare because he has been doing it since you are a kid.
Either you two share the same taste bud of being capable to eat really spicy food.
OR, even though related you cannot cope with spicy food at all. Making you bond with Minghao, the other sibling on healthier food more.
Your house fridge stores at least 10 packs of sausages because your brother loves it.
You used to be the happy kid, waiting for the sausages to be grilled by Junhui
He will be the big brother that brings you to the playground, watches you playing around while he just sitting/crouching there stroking a cat.
You are so used to him singing classic 80s and 90s song when he is showering in the bathroom.
You used to record it and post it social media and that is how Junhui got scouted.
If you are an idol too, Junhui giving you acting tips for your upcoming music video
Mobile gaming with Junhui and Wonwoo.
Very much used to Junhui’s idol friends coming over. Notable mention : Wonwoo, Yanan and Samuel
You siding at his friends because of his pranks and everyone is giving you the SOS glance. Junhui would never get mad at you, but just grab your shoulder and shakes you back and forth XD
Of course you will be his partner in crime with the pranks and jokes occasionally. Making you other sibling and Junhui’s friends shake their heads but also end up joining the dork party
If you are a student, cues in your friends goes in fangirl panic state because they never believed in you until Junhui and Minghao really appear in the house. (Or you never bring your friends home because you want to avoid scandal and trouble)To give a better idea for above, maybe a childhood friend who know about your superstar brother.
If you are not related to Minghao,
Also will feel this boy is cold and distant
Mostly him reading a book on a couch
Sharing your waiting to be read book list with Minghao
Bonus if Junhui your brother actually got acquainted with Minghao before both of your parents remarried. Making Junhui be the bridge of you and Minghao to get closer.
Since Junhui sometimes goes into prankster mode, you and Minghao face palm at him alot.
Cues in Minghao giving the dead fish eye look + deep sigh because being so done.
Bonus if this happens when you and Junhui go into dork mode TOGETHER
Cues in Minghao saying :Must be tough being Junhui’s sibling. He must have done those pranks on you lot.
Also Minghao saying : But he is a good brother
Only to know Minghao is the only child and he is very happy and excited to have siblings in his life.
Again, shooketh af at your brother’s career if you are not an idol.
Again, shooketh af if you already know who he is and you basically you interrogate your parent on how did they got to date with the superstar’s parent.
Again, basically having a identity crisis because both of your brothers are idol
Seeing them both practising and discussing dance moves makes you in awe at this new sibling
If you are an idol too, cues in you being hyper and hope Minghao teaches you B-boying.
If you are already adult, you will spend time drinking wine with Minghao talking about life and armchair philosophy
At first you are intimidated by Minghao’s fashion, but you will get used to it.
Minghao coordinating your fashion of course!
If you draw as well, you might go to art store with him often. Discussing what material to use for next project. Cues in Minghao shyly comes to you asking if he could borrow some art tools or paint.
If you are related to Minghao,
The very ZEN sibling, also the im so done sibling
But Minghao will still have his dorkiness
Minghao coordinating your fashion and you be the model for Minghao’s photography hobby
Wine drinking sibling of course!
Bonus if you cannot handle alcohol even though related thus you go to Junhui with coke and juice
Bonus if you dance too, Minghao and Junhui will ask you on dance moves
Knows about his waist problem so you will advice him to reduce harsh movements
If you draw as well, you might go to art store with him often. Discussing what material to use for next project
Sitting beside him while he draws
Framing up all his artworks and hangs them all at living room
You are so used to him being savage because you know he speaks the truth.
If you are not an idol
Visiting to their workplace is always an experience
Them being protective but at the same time they are ok at you getting to know more people in your life
Always cover your face with stickers if they upload selcas of you three to Instagram
If you are an idol too :
You are invincible. I mean you get acting advice from Junhui and dance advice from Minghao. And if you are close to the Mingyoozi household, you get first hand coaching by Jihoon tho. So ya, you are invincible.
Crowned as “the person whom i am jealous the most.” by netizens.

Mobile Photography
Photography had a big impact in its history when the Brownie camera launched in 1901.
Now everyone were able to take pictures without any complication or knowledge about photography. As years pass by, we have seen how photography has evolved in many ways since now it’s easier to take a good picture even with just a phone.
Kodak’s brownie camera
The iPhone has been a big disadvantage for photojournalists since the competition has grown,
in relation to having it easier to take pictures with the iPhone than with the camera. It’s easier than in a crucial moment anyone will have an iPhone to to take a picture instead of a camera. Also the technological advancement has led people to create their own journalism which it’s not beneficial for photojournalism.
It has gone to the point that the war has been photographed with an iPhone
We have as an example Teru Kuwayama and Balazs who used the an iPhone app called Hipstamatic, to document the war for Basetrack.
Balazs Gardi, documents war in Hipstamatic
“Composing with the iPhone is more casual and less deliberate” -Damon Winter
In the article “How photographer Devin Allen helps Baltimore youth reclaim their narratives” by Allison Griner, she introduced one of the photographers that was deeply inspired by photography after owning the very first camera by himself, Devin Allen. As a similar experience, at Ansel Adams’ age fourteen, he received a Brownie box camera during the vacation with his family at Yosemite and that allowed him to shoot landscape photos.
Another example is from Henri Cartier-Bresson, he got his first camera from his family too.
But for Devin Allen, he didn’t have the same chance as them, growing up in West Baltimore, he didn’t think he has that many options to be successful. He thought about being a rapper, drug dealer or even a basketball player.
The very first time he picked up the camera was for helping his friends to promote their events. He said that many people laughed at him and not taking it seriously. Soon, one of his photos became the cover of Time magazine.
He was awarded the inaugural Gordon Parks Foundation Fellowship, and he released a book of street photography, “A Beautiful Ghetto”
David Allen mentioned that in 2013, he had to borrow his grandmother’s best buy credit card to buy his very first camera or else he couldn’t afford it. He was inspired by it and started his personal project by putting cameras in the hands of teenagers in Baltimore. He named it “Through their eyes”.
He said: “I look at some photographers, and their daddies were photographers or they took photography classes, and they had all these opportunities to be subjected to photography. We don’t get that chance”.
As so many people using phones and social media as a way to promote their work, almost anyone can be a photographer, but in the professional field, it is still competitive.
Devin Allen said he knows some people think the Time cover photo is just “a lucky shot” because they think he is an amateur photographer that did not go to college for formal training. He refused it and said he did by being on the ground in the community.
For all the fame and attention the TIme magazine brought to him, the money was still tight for him, in the end, it was Under Amour gave him the financial security to continue pursuing his goal.
For Allen, photography was his lifesaver. He said one Friday, his friends got shot while he was editing some photos he took. He wants to help these teenagers during the project, to let them know that it is not okay to choose this kind of path for their lives. In addition, He is looking forward to the day when he can recommend them for photography jobs or even hire them himself.
For each camera, he hands out, Devin Allen put a slash on his notebook. Now is around 160, his goal is 300.
In the article “A Conversation With Devin Allen”, Allen mentioned that he met his mentor Swizz Beatz at one of the charity event. He gave Devin Allen his first Leica camera. He said: “Shooting with Leica makes me think. It’s the perfect tool that fits my style,” Allen comments. As for his current direction? “I’m moving toward storytelling everyday life without shooting people, showing the landscape of Baltimore and the vacant homes”. The article mentioned that Instagram has played a huge role in making Allen’s work and message hyper-visible, owed mostly to the platform’s fast pace paired with a handful of viral posts, all of which Allen says contributed to his early success. Although social media continues to be a driving force, Allen refuses to alter his eye for the sake of double taps. “I don’t create for social media… I want my work to transition and become timeless.”

Week 9 - Visual Communities and Social Imaging
Changes in media technology have shaped and changed how people capture, remember, store and communicate their personal images and those of others (Burgess & Vivienne 2013). In the past, photographs were planned, took time to develop, were shared with a network of close family and friends and stored physically in albums. Today technology provides everyone with a digital camera or mobile phone to capture moments anywhere at any time and then share those moments with friends and social groups instantly (Burgess & Vivienne 2013). Immediacy is now more important than keeping images. Mobile phones, social networking sites, and UCC (User Created Content) sites such as YouTube, emphasise the use of images and videos as an integral part of the communication process and the formation of social groups and visual communities online (Swinburne Online 2018).
Ubiquitous photography and Networked Visuality are integral to visual communities. With the development of cameras, mobile phones and digitisation, personal photography has become ubiquitous (Swinburne Online 2018). Ubiquitous photography together with social media and the internet allows people to communicate with others by sharing images rather than just words. Now families and friends do not physically get together very often as anyone with a mobile phone camera can capture everyday life without the social gathering traditionally held. These images are now shared through social media and are increasingly shared as just the image without the verbal or written communication. With images replacing words and by ‘tagging’ an image, images can be easily categorised and easily searched by anyone using social media, placing the images in public domain and allowing communities with like interests to form.
Networked Visuality describes the use of imaging to form an integral part of the development and maintaining of social networks where communication is often about images, this has contributed to the development of visual communities (Swinburne Online 2018). Mobile camera technology has enabled video recording to be as easy and accessible as taking an image. In the past home videos and photographs were taken mainly to keep memories whereas the new role of digital video and images is as a communication tool. Social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat are specifically designed to use images as the main communication tool and YouTube has expanded the reach and communication power of video. These developments in technology have changed the way individuals and groups communicate creating online visual communities through social networking.
The influence of social media platforms on visual communities can be seen through the popularity of YouTube influencers and Snapchat. You Tube influencers such as the Kardashians have built an on-line following of millions of people that has resulted in a visual community of individuals that share a common interest. YouTube Influencers can set trends and influence followers to act certain ways and even by certain products, making influencers a marketing tool. Kim Kardashian even won the Influencer of the year award at the 2018 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards (YouTube 2019).
Snapchat differentiated itself from other social media platforms by providing a platform where the content and messaging is not permanent. The auto delete aspect of Snapchat encourages certain conversations to be intensely personal where users tend to engage in more intimate and self-disclosing interactions. Snapchat helps overcome people’s self-consciousness and discomfort of taking personal images and having those images stored, copied and shared without control (Bishop 2018).
Lange (2009) suggests that users of social media such as YouTube and Snapchat create videos of affinity to create and sustain social networks. These videos give individuals a feeling of being a member of a group or having an attraction, an affinity, to other people, things and ideas (Lange 2009).
As the need for instant communication increases with the availability and development of mobile camera technology the so-called ‘selfie culture’ has flourished. Recent generations have become increasingly self-image conscious and narcistic, this desire to be seen and to share their image with others is at the heart of the selfie culture. The downside of this culture is the increasing pressure to create images that receive ‘likes’ and to marginalise those who are not comfortable with their own image or are bullied and criticised within the social network.
A growing and real concern with the ability to express ourselves and share our images and communications is that images are being placed in the public domain for all to see. This is where legal and ethical issues may develop concerning control over our own image and the sharing of images and videos without permission.
Changes in technology and social media has reshaped the way we communicate and created digital communities. The ability to instantaneously share images and videos has fundamentally altered an individual’s social identity and changed social communities to visual communities.

Learning from Amazing Images
Wow! What a month for photography exhibitions. Marie and I attended the Queensland Camera Group Print Project challenge exhibition. The quality of the entries from the members was very high and it was easy to spend time there getting lost in the images. Some of the techniques used were thought provoking for our own work.
The Professional Photographers Association of Queensland (PPAQ) Print Exhibition was the first time they had held such an event. It showcased the work of their members. Again it was easy to get lost in the images. We also spent time discussing various images with the makers and they were very happy to share tips and techniques with us.
We were confronted with many images that expanded our world view and showed some of the pain and suffering in the world today when we attended the World Press Photography Awards exhibition. We were struck by the power of photo journalism to tell a story in a single image. I wonder how these photographers can spend time in these environments and not come away with their lives being impacted by what they have witnessed and lived through to gather the images they made.
Our home club, Brisbane Camera Group, was the organiser and host of the Queensland Interclub Audio Visual Competition which is held every two years. Marie and I attended the awards evening where every Audio Visual submitted was played and the winners announced. This was a different way of seeing images and was very enjoyable. The quality of work was very good. A key to having an effective Audio Visual is being able to tell a story that holds the attention of the audience. This requires both well captured images and a suitable soundtrack.
Marie and I attended an Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop Workshop run by Ash Kashyap to improve our skills with this software. We came away having learned new ways to process our images. For me, I enjoy seeing someone else’s workflow as there is usually something I can take and use in my own workflow to improve my images more effectively.
The second Adrian Lowe Workshop was held recently. Adrian is the creator of the SMARTS process of evaluating an image. His talks are about learning about yourself and how you impact your photography. Using this knowledge, you learn to create images that are unique to you. That way you will stand out from the crowd and have your own style.
Construction was the topic of our July monthly competition. I submitted two DPIs taken with my mobile phone. One image had some work done on it to make it appear more “surreal”. The other was a more natural representation of the scene. The judge for the month was Melissa Anderson, an AIPP qualified judge who I have a great deal of respect for. My “surreal” image received an acceptance and the key take away was the treatment I had applied had confused the colour palette and there were aspects in the image that made it hard to know what the focus point of the image was. The other image received a Merit which I was very pleased about. The images appear below.
Preparing to Lay a Floor (Merit)
Under Construction (Acceptance)
I am still making slow progress with my Print Project Challenge entry. I purchased a couple more props for the shoot which should help. Last weekend I captured a few images of my nephew and his girlfriend for possible inclusion in the project. It was a lot of fun and I’m hoping I can make some of the images work into the story line. Here are a couple of images from the shoot.
My Instagram activity has been modest this last month. I have called up some older images and worked on them before posting. A few new images were also featured. They have been a mixture of portraits and other images. Here are a couple of images for you to enjoy.
Until next post, keep on clicking!

The temps are starting to heat up and celebs' sartorial styles aren't cooling down! Katie Holmes rocked a pretty navy blue asymmetrical JD Williams jumpsuit for a photo shoot in New York City.

Heidi Klum went even bolder, topping her outfit with a bright green “Henny Faux Fur” trench coat from KUT from the Cloth while on the set of Germany's Next Top Model in Santa Monica, California, in early June. The 45-year-old model’s stylist, Rob Zangardi, originally got the jacket as a gift for Cara Delevingne, but Klum fell in love with it, so he gave it to her instead!
Rob Zangardi
Shay Mitchell kept warm in some, well, not-so-cold temps by layering with a jacket by Canadian designer Ellie Mae. “When it’s 52° in the morning and mid-70s by lunchtime, a faux fur jacket with a crop top, seems sensible👌,” the Pretty Little Liars alum joked on Instagram on June 6.

Jordana Brewster enjoyed a day at the horse stable with her family in Los Angeles last week, where she exclusively revealed her favorite go-to beauty trends to ET. "I love Fascia massages. They really get deep into your muscles, even more than a deep tissue massage. This massage really helps stretch your muscles when you are tight and extra sore," the 38-year-old actress, who works out six days a week, explained. “I am also loving dry brushing because it really gets your circulation and lymphatic system going." The Lethal Weapon star also revealed that "allergies are a challenge all year round" for her. "Whether I’m heading to the Farmers Market with my kids or trying to exercise outdoors, my runny nose and watery eyes can be really disruptive, but, thankfully, I take ZYRTEC to give me consistent allergy relief," she added.

thomas struth
1954
A German photographer, well known for his black & white photography of New York and Düsseldorf buildings and streets.
I loved the gritty look of the images he produced, I liked the way in which he made the buildings look so large giving a great perspective shot between the street level and the large buildings either side of the frame. Then even composition is very pleasing to the eye and draws you into the image.

STEPHEN SHORE
photographer from America, famous since “Uncommon Places”. New York, 1982.
In this image I really like the space around the subject giving it the isolated unusual look. I also like how the building is very central in the frame as the colour of the house is also contrasting with the rest of the landscape.
https://www.pierremm.com/architecture-photographer/architecture-photography-famous-artists.php
Dirk Bakker
@macenzo on Instagram a photographer based in Amsterdam, takes amazing almost surreal looking architecture photos.
I liked this image as it has a surreal look about from the twisting of the building like a rope. I also like the colour palette of the sky in this image, I think that the composition in this image is very effective with it being a straight line in the middle of the image.
https://www.seemycity.com/member/dirk-bakker/#:~:text=Known%20as%20%40macenzo%20on%20Instagram,textures%2C%20lines%20and%20shadow%20play.&text=Dirk%20can%20make%20art%20from,for%20his%20work%20on%20SeeMyCity.
Mikhail Vassiliev
@vasilmann on Instagram a minimalist architecture photographer based in the Netherlands shows impressive perspective shots.
I liked this image as it showed a great example of a wide angle low perspective shot. I also like how simplistic this image is making it pleasing to look at due to the equal about of building on all sides with the squared shape revealing the clouded sky, this composition is effective in this image.
https://www.instagram.com/miklevasilyev/?hl=en
Mihai Florea
Dargo taken by mihai florea in 2016
An Australian fine art photographer based in Melbourne, he focuses on long exposure architecture monochromatic photography. Florea really enjoys experimenting with light to make simple buildings look incredibly striking and interesting to the viewer.
I really like the soft lighting in this image bouncing off all the surfaces I also liked the unusual shapes and flow in the image. I also like how the darker areas around the outer part of the image keep your eye in the frame. I also like the angle this has been taken as the lightest part of the image is in the centre of the image this composition draws your eye Into the centre of the image.
https://www.photographize.co/articles/mihaiflorea/
Julia Anna Gospodarou
Gospodarou is the founder of visionography the fine art movement that bases the content of the images on the emotions and experiences of the artist/photographer this inspired photographers to have a more creative outlook on photography instead of photographing it at face value.
I really like how minimalistic this image is there is a dramatic black and white colour palette, the building looks super imposed into the image due to the extreme editing and smoothing out of the surfaces. I also like how the extreme vignette around the image adds drama and focal point to the image that’s in the center where the dark tone of the building meets the lithest tone in the sky.

Arnaud Bertrande
Bertrande is a French self taught photographer that aims to push the boundaries of his own imagination. He expresses his emotions through his images, his passion for this art medium came in 2007 when he wanted a way to express him self and feel in love with photography.
I liked this image as it looked like an illusion of a zigzag going through the middle of the image due to the reflection of the bridge between the two buildings, this creates a line right through the image that leads the eye across image. It also looks very dramatic from the black and white colour pallet and the dark colour of bridge and its reflection adds the drama and the main focal point of the image.

Janie Airey
Airey is an english mostly corporate and lifestyle photographer based in London, she takes photographs for companies like age UK, interflora, siemens and T mobile. She also has her personal work that has been exhibited in the national portrait gallery and she also does a lot of interesting architecture work too.
In this image I liked how light and modern looking this part of the building is contrasting with indoor trees I liked this look of a burst of colour from the trees in the middle of the frame this draws your eye into the image along with the leading lines at the sides of the building that lead the views eye to the centre of the image.

Richard Pare
Pare is a photographer born in England in 1948 and is a very decorated photographer that specialises in architecture photography. His most recent project was on Russian avangarde architecture. Pare studied In Winchester and at Ravensbourne College of Art then moved to the US where he got into photography. His work has been fetured in many galleries and he has won many awards.
This image was interesting to me as it was like a mirror image of the building in the perfectly still water I liked this look as it mad the image look bigger and added drama to the image as there is a leading line right through the image from the pillar that leads your eye down to the reflection and into the iron stair case handle. I also like how monochromatic the palette is with the cool tones and greys it adds the mood of it being a quiet area and calm.

Kerstin Arnemann
Arnemann is a fine art architecture photographer she is based in malta and has a professional degree in photography. She first started in portraiture in 2012 then found a passion in architecture photography as she loved the geometric shapes of the buildings, so she wanted to photograph them as turn them into something more interesting surreal looking with the montones and smooth skys with long shutter speeds.
I really liked the use of a long exposure in this image, capturing the movement of the people in this image. I also like the compositional balance of the image as it uses the rule of thirds one part foreground where the people are, one part middle ground where the building is and one part background and that’s where the sky is. I also really liked the unique shape of this building as it adds a great skyline in this image, makes your eye travel along it and see the whole image.

MOBILE MASTERLIST.
It’s about bloody time I created one that was a little easier for you guys to use. I know that my Masterlist has caused a few troublesome issues over the last few weeks so I can only pray that this works a little better for everyone. I think that this may be something much more handy than having to edit everything and all that jazz.
Italicised and bolded titles are titles belonging to stories which contain smut, or some GIFs and pictures that are on the rather graphic side, within them. But, of course, there are warnings at the top of each smut piece, just in case you go a little further.
If any problems do arise, let me know and I’ll get to working them out as soon as I possibly can. Let’s hope this is a lot easier to handle! I’ll slot this under a Keep Reading because it’s actually much longer than I thought it would be and I don’t want to upset people by clogging up their dashboard.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT ALL REQUESTS FOR EVERYTHING, RIGHT NOW, ARE SHUT. ANY THAT GET SENT IN WILL NOT BE WRITTEN IMMEDIATELY. xx
