The new dating feature... What to expect?
Tumblr media
(Apart from disapointment, of course)
Disclaimer: I only bought this because I had a lot of Google Play points, so I could shave a looooooooooot of the total price, but my condolences to anyone who doesn't live in the US because it's a lot more expensive in another regions... Including mine, of course
Disclaimer 2: I'm not telling you what to do with your money, this Is my personal opinion. If you are planning in buying this, do whatever idc, but since a lot of people are having doubts, I felt that I might as well tell everyone what Is this about.
So yeah... Since they announced the new feature, I knew It either would cost real money, It just sounded too good to be true, but I didn't expect to cost $29.99? Almost $37 in my country currency, a total scam, really.
But to be fair to them, this Is a bundle that comes with 300 DP, and considering the price of 280 DP, it's almost like you get the ticket for "free", right?? At least that's how Solmare probably thought It would look like, but the reality Is that the common player will see this bundle and just think that this ticket cost 30 fucking dollars (just look at the comments of Twitter and the tag Right now). In my opinion, just separate the DP and the ticket, and have the bundle as an special offert If you want. Remember that selling stuff Is also about framing... Most players that were planning on buying this might not be planning on buying the DP (like myself, I don't buy DP unless it's on special offerts) so the only thing people like that will think Is that "why this ticket costs that much?"
But what you get in the actual event, you might ask? The trailer was vague as hell in my opinion, and that's an instant red flag in my radar, especially for that spicy art that came with it
For a ticket date you get:
A 1min call
A 10min storyline (not fully voiced, apart from certain lines in the las part of the storyline)
A Majolish background with the date art
The event starts with you calling you boy of preference (in this case, I choose Mammon) to invite him to a date, the call ends and you get a 10min storyline. The premise of the Mammon's date Is that MC has won tickets to Phantom Park, and then Mammon & MC get involved to a game of tag to win a price. Then couple shennigans happen, blah blah blah.
The Story Is... Not bad? I found It rather cute actually, it's romantic and at least they make It explicit that Mammon & MC aré actually dating, but again, this could very well have been in a Devilgram, it's not worth the 30 dollars Solmare expects you to pay tbh. Just tip your favorite fanfic author and call It a day
The last segment Is the one they show in the tráiler, with Mammon getting out of the shower
Tumblr media
In this scene, some lines are voiced, and tbh, If the actual story was like this, It almost miiiight be worth It (not the full price, but at least something). But as now? Save your money people, I wouldn't really recommend It.
The only way I would recommend buying It it's If you're already planning on buying the 280 DP offert, or you have a lot of coupons/GPP so you don't pay full price lol, but If you like Lucifer (or Asmo) just do yourself a favor and buy the ASMR. At least, that's what I think

Reverse 1999- The Avant-Garde Rpg
Tumblr media
R1999 is in many regards an Avant-Garde take on the gacha game genre. Everything from it's presentation to story telling is in stark contrast to its comptemporaries. Like many other fans, my first introduction to the game was the iconic trailer that came out prior to the global release. I was watching a random YouTube video when suddenly an ad pops up. I normally skip ads as soon as possible, but this one caught my attention immediately. All the R1999 trailers have a bombastic cinematic style that makes viewers feel like they're watching movie. Hearing Vertin talk cryptically about " the storm" while dramatic music played in the background made me curious just what exactly this game was about. Interlaced with all of that were images of a little girl in a tattered red dress sadistically shooting people and... a talking red apple? I knew right then that this game was something else.
When first playing the game, players slowly start to learn about an apocalyptic event refered to as the storm which erases entire eras of history. Those caught in the storm are wiped from existence. Humanity's only hope is the St Pavlov Foundation and their Arcanist agents. Opposing them is a group of Arcanist terrorists called Manus Vindictae who wish to use the Storm to serve their agenda. It takes a while for the story to build up steam.
The beginning of the story is hard to follow due to how vague and cryptically it's told.  A lot of terminology is used that players won't understand until later. Once the plot begins the thicken, players are presented with a surealist supernatural mystery conspiracy thriller unlike anything you've seen before. The story is intricately written and brings up a lot of historical and scientific concepts along the way. It's not the kind of story you can just speedrun through to get to the gameplay. Each chapter segment is fairly long and dense with information. It's honestly like playing a visual novel rather than an rpg. I'm not complaining though. I've been gripped by the lore since day one and I never know what these writers are cooking up next.
The best part of the game for me is the character roster. It's can't be exaggerated just how unique the characters are. What other game has living scarecrows, a mini UFO, a girl who hiccups balloons and a sapient piece of glass as playable characters? Its clear that just about anything can be an Arcanist in this world. I thought having inanimate objects be characters was weird at first, but I soon grew to love the idea. It was just too ludicrous not to enjoy. I also love how tastefully the female characters are drawn. Everyone either wears time period appropriate casual clothes or the most ornate pimped out dresses you've ever seen. The character designs are conservative yet stylish, creating incredibly rememberable units. These beautiful appearances are complimented by eccentric personalities. All Arcanists have their little quirks that make them endearing. They're strange people living in an even stranger world.
The true cherry on top on all of this is the stellar voice acting. The cast is composed of characters from all over the world and the voice cast reflects this. Most of the voice actors share the same nationality/ethnicity as their character which gives their performance an authentic edge. The large variety of accents makes the world feel alive with personality. In a market where usually only the most high profile gacha games bother with English dubs, it's refreshing to see the producers put so much passion into the voice overs.
In terms of art and presentation, R1999 knocks it out of the park once again. The insight 2 character portraits are immaculately drawn and bursting with details. The background art for the story section is also drawn with enough depth to get players immersed in the setting. The live 2d models help spice things up a bit instead of having to look at a still image the entire time.
Reverse 1999 isn't just some game to pass the time with. it's a clear labor of love for everyone who worked on it. It's always a pleasure to play a game where the devs are passionate about their creation.

Soooo I've been delving into the world of otome games and well there are two I am currently OBSESSED with. So imma give y'all my opinion on both games and which of the main characters I like :)
Game 1, Love And Deepspace:
Lemme tell you, this game is captivating in the best way possible and all of the features are just amazing?? Like you can get so far in like 5 days and then you kinda have to grind and wait for the next day to level up and progress but once you get the hang of the game it's honestly so immersive. I can be on there for hours just messing around with the dating aspect of it. Like omgggg. As for my favourite boys, Y'all I am simping HARD for Sylus rn and I'm so sad I've already played through what's available for his main story. So like over all of the available boys to date etc, Sylus is my number one overall. As for the main story line of the main 3 boys, Zayne is absolutely taking my heart and running with it ngl. Like just look at these men.
Sylus:

Zayne:
Tumblr media
Y'all have no idea how much I love both of them fhdjdjeh.
Game 2, Error 143:
YO WENT I TELL YOU THIS LIL INDIE GAME ON STEAM CAPTURED MY HEART ONLY HOURS AGO. Like I just downloaded it cause it looked kinda interesting but HOLY FUCK am I incredibly hooked now. Like just talking to Micah was so fun and like,,, it felt too real BC the way the MC's dialogue is, it's genuinely how I'd talk to people and how my attitude towards people are. Like the whole game is obviously older Gen Z coded from the way Micah talks to you and the slang used etc. It's genuinely so immersive and it's only like a couple of hours of gameplay if you're playing it for the first time but you can 100% speed run it in like 30 minutes. There are 3 endings, The Bad Ending, The Good Ending and The Secret Ending. I have gotten all 3 and I am waiting to grab the DLC and pay for the extra stuff the dev has put up on patreon. But like seriously, guys I am in love with Micah Yujin and I seriously hope the dev keeps updating this game and adding more content to it BC it's sooooo good!!
Tumblr media
Genuinely the only gif I can find of him 😩 but he's such a cocky ass dorky guy and I love him with my whole heart.
Also go give the Dev of Error 143: @jennyvipham some love BC her game is genuinely amazing and it deserves so much more recognition and love ngl. She honestly deserves the world for bringing Micah into the world

Sonic Advance
Following the Dreamcast’s discontinuation in 2001, Sega pulled out of the hardware market and started making third-party games for other systems. While the main Sonic titles would be made for consoles by Sonic Team USA, a series of original handheld adventures were created for the Game Boy Advance by Sonic Team’s Japanese department in collaboration with the newly founded Dimps (which was partially made up of former SNK members including staff who previously worked on Sonic Pocket Adventure for the Neo Geo Pocket Color).  These kicked off with Sonic Advance, a 2D platformer that faithfully captures the Genesis games’ gameplay in a very solid game worth playing for Sonic fans old and new. The story’s gone back to basics, amounting to little more than stopping Dr Eggman from getting the seven Chaos Emeralds.

this game increased my blood pressure during gameplay for sure. the first time I saw that mutant underwater-dwelling human(?) darting across my screen, I legit jumped off my seat. and I can't decide if I prefer the eeriness of being alone in vast, dark structures over the anxiety of not getting caught around other humans. I hate both, thanks. and what a great and solid game this is

Tokyo Debunker - went in for the toxic anime boys, stayed for the unexpectedly unsettling episodic horror.
I mainly play the visual novel as a bedtime story whenever I'm having a hard time falling asleep, and then I'm occasionally spooked wide awake by the well executed horror manga page turn moments. Luckily I'm used to consuming horror content before bed, so it all works out for me.
The characters are... fine? Most of them hate my guts, but joke's on them, because I'm into that. Haku is best boy as a genuine love interest, but Jin is my own personal brand of "I can fix him". There does seem to be a good amount of variety, and I love that a lot of the ghouls represent another type of supernatural monster/trope. I'm also digging the interactions between characters. While the characters all function as romantic interests for the MC, there's also a lot of shipping potential.
The overarching story is also just fine, although I'm not all that taken by the mystery yet. But it's an episodic game, and I'm not even done with all the story we've unlocked so far. Works well enough as a bedtime story. My over-active mystery-oriented brain is also constantly cooking up theories in the background, but there's been nothing too compelling yet.
For a mobile game of its scale, I was honestly surprised by the production value. The music is obviously just royalty-free classical music (that contributes to putting me to sleep), but all the scenes are voice acted, and the story is sprinkled with comic sections that breathe some life into the action and horror (and fanservice). They've also added a comment section to each chapter where you can interact with other players and discuss your thoughts and ideas. Overall, I've been pleasantly surprised.
I won't touch on the gameplay or gacha elements, because they are secondary to me. Gacha will always be an evil that I'll tolerate because it keeps the game free for me.
TLDR; idk, play it if you like visual novels, cute anime monster boys, cute (monster?) cats, cute mystery/horror.

Game Review, Part 2: Lovebrush Chronicles
Read Part One Here
By the time your character finishes the Eden routes, it's become clearer what is going on and what the threat is to Earth. I believe you can read the existing worlds in any order, but I suggest not doing so, because the revelations in each world build upon each other.
The third route, is actually more like route 2.5 - Awakening, and while there is less at stake here, the stories are darker, and none of them have conclusive endings.
youtube
In "Awakening" MC doesn't leave Earth. Instead, she and each LI go to a new "virtual reality theater" and experience a personalized movie experience. The LIs are told that the experience will read their subconscious to give them a movie about a possible future. What MC knows is that this experience is actually to wake the LIs up a threat to Earth (from, well, more details would be a spoiler).
Each of the awakening stories are sci-fi, and they deal with how MC and their LI's lives have been changed by the threat. Cael too gets a story here, but for him we get a story that might be about his past.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Awakening stories are each about a third of the length of the other worlds' main stories, and if you've got stamina saved (and in this game, you can stack up your daily stamina between reading routes, so you can indeed have a lot banked) it's easy enough to get through all of these in a few hours if you are a fast reader.
Finally we come to the main story (Lost Bloodline) that was just released a couple of days ago, and I've only read that story's prologue. This one is being released in three different parts, with part one covering Ayn, Alkaid, and Clarence's story, part two will be Cael's (I believe) and part three will be Lars'.
From what I have seen of Lost Bloodline, MC's travel to this particular world was, unlike her other visits, unexpected and unwilling, and she does not know how to travel back to her own world. This world is a lush and vibrant planet populated by people who can turn into animals.
Tumblr media
There are four factions who have dominion over certain parts of the world, The Lord of the Light (Lars), The Lord of the Wind (Clarence), The Lord of the Forest (Alkaid) and the Lord of the Night (Ayn).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In this route, Cael will (finally) be a LI as well, but at the beginning of this story, he's searching for MC, but he realizes that he is on the right world, but at a different place in their timeline.
Tumblr media
As you can see from this and the previous post, there is an abundance of content in this game. Besides the main story, there are event stories that happen in between (and around) main story releases. These generally alternate between stories in the modern/true world that are tied to calendar events (New Years, White Day, Halloween) and stories that have fantasy elements (a story collection in which MC is a witch, a cyberpunk story involving a game, a historical fantasy associated with the lantern festival, for example).
(Someone has nicely put together a spreadsheet of story and event order here).
Additionally, you can unlock modern day stories by increasing your affection points with the characters and by collecting gacha cards. There is also a way to phone and text the other LIs (though Cael is notoriously bad at answering calls), and get mini stories there too. I'm amused that Lars is very fond of sending gifsets to MC. Modern Lars is kind of a goofball at times.
Tumblr media
Speaking of the Gacha... the card collection you have is what you use to advance in the story. You put these cards in an array of "battle cards" and at various points in the story, they are needed to fend off an attack:
To level up the power on your cards, there is a "practice area" available on your home page:
Tumblr media
And that brings me to one of the things I don't like about the game. The UI is very complicated, and it took me a good week of playing it before I got a sense of where everything is. Each of these areas connects to a daily task of some kind that you need to complete, or sometimes just check in, in order to pick up stamina or in game currency. It's not a simple go in and click one or two buttons. You need to hop all over the place (there's also an upstairs, and an island map that you zip through) in order to get your daily gifts. Again, once I learned where everything was, it became easier to go through it all, but there were a few days where I missed gifts because I simply didn't see that they were there.
(The good thing about training your gacha cards to level them up though, is that you can go in and program it on automatic, then go do something else for five minutes. You don't have to baby it.)
If you're still with me, here is my bullet list of pros and cons of Lovebrush.
Pro: Content, lots of content, a fascinating storyline that builds on the overall series lore world by world.
Con: Complicated UI
Pro: MC. She's great, she isn't overpowered, but she does have abilities, and generally most of the LIs respect those abilities (in face, the Eden version of Lars recognizes that she is stronger than he is and hires her as a bodyguard).
Con/Pro: Not all of the world route endings are completely happy. Winning often comes at a cost, and some endings are definitely bittersweet. Still, it adds to the tension and emotional connection to the story, but it's not like Cybird where there are happily ever afters in everything but the specifically marked tragic routes. (Not that there is anything wrong with that, I'm still an Ikesen uber, through and through).
Pro: If you make the wrong choice, you die, or end up in a time loop, or an eternal prisoner, however, this does not force you to return all the way to the start, you can just backtrack to the previous crossroad and make a different choice.
Con: If you are looking for steamy content, I haven't come across anything beyond a few kisses here or there.
Pro: That said, the stories have all been quite romantic and emotionally satisfying (and as I said, the Godheim Clarence story is gorgeous).
Pro: You get your own cat.
Pro: As you might be able to tell from the attached GCs, the artwork is gorgeous.

Sinoalice Alice Story Summary:
Books 1 and 2
Tumblr media
[ Editor's note- this fandom is in desperate need of creative content and lore analysis so I felt compelled to write this. It felt really good making sense of the insanity of this game.]
It's really easy to lose track of the story of Sinoalice due to how disjointed the narrative is. I'll be writing this summary to offer a more streamlined and concise look into Alice's story. This is for books 1 and 2. I'll write summaries for the other chapters later, but I'm not sure if the Japanese version of the second part of the elimination arc has been archived.
The story begins with Alice waking up to the scent of blood heavy in the air. She instinctively knows that her purpose in life is to revive her author, and she must kill a countless amount of people to do so. She knows right off the bat that nothing can be gained without sacrifice. Alice claims not to feel any pain, but that will be proven false later on. She remains steadfast in her desire to fulfill her wish. No amount of injuries will deter her from her goal. Not even the pain of others will slow her down. Her only concern is that she may never meet her author Lewis Carroll. It's enough to give her pause. She even surmises she'll never find true happiness after all the lives she has taken. This Alice is far removed from the one everyone knows and loves. Gone is her whimsical humor and curiosity. She's an emotionless soldier bound by the concept of bondage, vanquishing as many lives as she needs to for her author.
The dolls tease her for being a slave to her desires and Alice agrees with them. This is the only way she knows how to live. She degrades herself, calling herself twisted and warped. Alice's love for Lewis is a self-sacrificial kind. Even if she can't meet him, even if he doesn't return her love, just knowing that he is alive somewhere in the world will give her solace. She dreams of the joy she'll feel once her wish is granted, knowing that there'll be a pile of corpses in her wake as a consequence. Lewis is the only savior she has in this cruel, twisted world. He's the only one who can stop this endless cycle of violence. Alice knows that bringing the dead back to life goes against nature, but she has nothing left to lose.
Alice eventually runs into Snow White in her travels. Their ideologies are incompatible and they know that the other will have to die for their dreams. Alice calls Snow's brand of justice a falsehood. It doesn't bring salvation to everyone and nothing in this world is righteous in the first place, especially not those two. Saving her author is the only kind of justice Alice cares for. Snow believes Alice to be a selfish woman who only exists to fight. The two have to put aside their differences to fight against a horde of nightmares.
The two go their separate ways and Alice continues her mission of killing nightmares. She wonders why someone as vile as her was born into such a beautiful world. The thought of her existence being her fear. She keeps such ideas buried away. The truth is too much for her. She isn't the unfettered, emotionless husk we have been led to believe. Self-doubt and anxiety well inside her heart. We also learn that she does indeed feel pain. It's what reminds her that she's still alive. She picks at her wounds to feel the pain grip her body. It anchors her sanity. She wishes she could feel nothing. It would make her mission all the more easier.
Book 2
Ghosts are beings who have an attachment to the world they can't let go of. Alice sees a similarity in herself as she cuts them down. She hears their death wails, not knowing if they were of pain or anger. She also hears a voice begging to be saved, though she does not know where it comes from. Perhaps those prayers belong to the ghosts she's slaughtering. Nightmares have a will of their own, just like everyone else. They can feel pain and feel fear. Some of them are innocent, but that doesn't stop Alice from killing them despite her doubts.
Alice encounters Kaguya and Pinocchio at separate points. She doesn't exactly get along with them. She has no desire to entertain Kaguya's masochism or Pinocchio's need for guidance.
All the fairytale protagonists meet up at the world's end, stated to be the border between dreams and reality. They all work together to defeat an exceptionally powerful nightmare called Satan. His defeat causes cracks to open in the library world and a fissure opens that leads them to the reality world.

I didn't write as much as I wanted these last few days. But I did manage to clean and organise quite a bit of my room and play some games. I am tired for some reason and I dunno why but I also have work in 6 1/2 hours and I need to be up in 5 1/2 to ensure I leave and get there on time. But I plan to be here and active tomorrow

Metal Gear Solid Mobile
Even in a series as prolific as Metal Gear, it is not immune to missing or lost releases, and there are blind spots in the series that many don’t know about or haven’t heard of. Metal Gear Solid Mobile is one such game. It is a ‘lost’ game in the series, released solely on mobile platforms & not widely publicized. It’s also unique in how advanced it was for a mobile game at the time. MGS Mobile reaches toward the level of the console games, despite a smaller screen & keypad controls, and it gets might close that lofty aim.
