[Age Swap, They missed Mob's birthday and Reigen can't have that]

Reigen + Mob | Mob Psycho 100 Age Swap AU 26-02-2023

No, I actually got betting somehow! Mob who grew a little bit estranged from his family and has no friends, so no one celebrates his birthday with him and he doesn't bother doing anything either.

Only for Mob's age to come up in a conversation while on a job, and the number isn't the same as the first time Reigen ever asked him.

"Wait, we missed your birthday? Why didn't you tell me?" Reigen asks immediately after, only to have Mob look at him confused.

Why would he have told his self-proclaim student about it? It's not like it was an important day on anything.

Yet reigen won't agree with him and manages to pull out of him when it was (a month ago?!?) and decides that they gotta celebrate it together. How can he not celebrate it after all?

Mob who allows Reigen to pull him along after their job is done. He watches as the teenager tries to count how much money he has, as if Mob would ever allow a kid to pay for the both of them if they go somewhere.

but still, it does bring an unfamiliar warm feeling inside of the older man. He can't remember when was the last time someone got this invested in him (aside from another time when Reigen did something somewhat similar).

They do end up going somewhere to eat (and Mob pays despite Reigen's protest). By the end of the night tho Reigen did spend part of his money, offering a gift to his shisho that he picked as they were walking around a market.

"I remembered you telling me you lost your scarf and you were eyeing them earlier" he smiles. Reigen feels like this isn't much for a bday gift, but the small smile it brings out of his shisho is enough to tell him he picked something good anyway.

and he'll make sure to write down the date for next year, like this they won't be celebrating it a month late!
