Dear friends, family and acquaintances of all sort. You are hereby invited to celebrate the New Year with us in New Orleans. Come and join us at the Mikaelson family's annual New Year's ball, the event will start with a red carpet and a small speach from members of the family as well as a chance for the public to see a sneak peak of all guests before they enter the private estate where no press or uninvited mortals may enter.

The ball will proceed inside the Mikaelson manor and will be a chance for all supernaturals to unwind and not have to worry about keeping their nature secret, all species are welcome of course and as there will be a few select mortal beings at the ball we kindly ask all vampires to not feed on the guests or they will be kicked out from the event (there will be a selection of blood types on tap in the bar so don't worry).

The evening is a chance for all to relax and enjoy a night of lavish extravaganza in a house decorated in accurate 1920s style (complete with all the drama and powerplay behind the niceties) as we ring in the new year with music,drinks,dancing,games and a firework show. The manor has plenty of rooms for guests that need to spend the night, including underground or sunproof rooms for those vampires that don't have daylight rings.

Dress to impress and never mind the press, speak to them at the red carpet or choose to ignore them whatever suits you best.

After years of death, suffering and loss te Mikaelson family have decided to once again host their formerly annual New Years eve ball. It’ll symbolize a fresh start from all the heartache and a new beginning for all species, a way to unite even if only for one night

The ball will be a chance for vampires, witches,werewolves, other supernaturals and a select few mortals to ring in the new year together. The champagne will be flowing (as well as tapped blood), te room will be glowing and the world will be dying to watch what goes on in the secretive New Orleans based mansion.

So come, be joyous and be yourself, whatever you may be 

Rules:

No stealing from the manor unless you wish to be punished publicly (which you really shouldn’t wish for)

Respect all creatures that are present at the ball

No one goes into the attic or cellar without a member of the Mikaelson family

Pointers:

Dresscode - formal but go as minimalistic or as extravagant as you wish

Guests - anyone that recieves this letter is welcome to join the celebration, simply rsvp by liking or rebloggingthis post

Dates - anyone is welcome to bring one or more dates if they so wish

Out of character:

Everyone is welcome here. Original characters, canons, dead ones and duplicates. Every fandom is welcome but know that this event takes place in the Legacies timeline.

Respect those that are mutually exclusive and don't use this event as an excuse to bother them.

If your character has pets bring them, I'm sure everyone would love to meet your furry friends but try to have a witch put a protective spell on them or have them ingest vervain to keep them safe.

headcanons for mikaelson’s new years ball 2k20, where eugene & willow are attending:

eugene and willow are friends, so they’re practically on a double date with morgan and michael and they’re all messy slkdfjsdlkj

they probably laugh their ass off at their table and everyone stares

willow is a dancing & horny kind of drunk, though she feels awful at some point of the night because it’s bad for her birb stomach

eugene is more of a sleepy, yet still horny kind of drunk, so he’d rather stay in a corner and smooch morgan

eugene and willow would adore to look at other people’s outfits, though the difference is that eugene stares from afar and willow runs to compliment them

eugene is very awkward in social situations, though he poses for the camera like a Deity(tm)

willow loves to joke around with the camera, say stupid stuff on michael’s ear, and she just overall loves to be silly around other people

she doesn’t even notice people stare at her

Embla walked over the dancefloor, carefully stepping between the pairs that were immersed in their own little bubbles, her eyes focused on the open bar that she and her siblings had provided. As much as she enjoyed the company of certain people, the hybrid had never been great at being in big crowds, she always got a bit on edge when she didn’t know everyone she was sharing the space with.

She gave the bartender a nod and he started making her signature drink as she took a seat. She spun on the stool to watch the dancers, she never had an issue with observing the crowds so she could easily sit here and not get that slightly pannicky feeling. She heard the glass be put down behind her back and turned to pick it up with a smile, when she was starting to turn once more she saw the familiar blonde locks that her brother had been so affected by at an earlier date.

“I wasn’t sure if you’d turn up..Caroline.” She took a sip of her drink, letting no emotion grace her features. “Honestly thought your previous interactions with my family would’ve dissuaded you.”

The blonde spun around happily, a bright smile on her lips as she danced. No matter how many times she returned home nor how much had been lost here, her mood always changed as soon as she came back. New Orleans may have  been filled with danger her whole childhood and it probably would always have some but that hadn’t stopped it from feeling like home to the tribrid and as she let the rythm move her, that was the overwhelming feeling that washed over her. A sense of belonging.

 Erica locked eyes with her sister mid spin and held out her hands, signaling for her to dance with the blonde. “Come on Hopey! Join me, it’s more fun if you dance with me.” She stepped closer to her sister and straightened her dress as best she could before grabbing Hope’s hand. “Won’t you join me?”

Willow was acting a lot more bubbly than usual. Her parents always told her to stay away from alcohol, to stay safe and healthy. And here she was, chugging the last bit of her cocktail, the dizzy feel hitting her as she stood up from the table. “Wow,” She murmurs under her breath with a little laugh.

“Hey, that’s a nice color on you,” She says to the personn right before her on the bathroom queue, a bright smile plastered on her face. Ugh, her stomach would kill her later.
