So many people write Magnus as this sort of suave, devious guy who charms his way into getting what he wants and I am here to argue that this misses his character by a mile. This guy is a failure of a person who is surprisingly nonviolent at the end of the day (but cannot tell the difference between psychological torment and physical abuse). Guy spent like a decade stewing in thoughts of revenge but crucially was only able to get a tiny fraction of it because someone else, MMA, pulled him into their schemes. He does make for a fun villain but it does seem that most people take him at surface value and forget that this mofo is so self sabotaging that he ruined his own life way worse than anyone else's.

Charles Oliveira takes UD over Michael Chandler.

An outcome no one expected. Do Bronx and Chandler got the distance. The first four rounds of this fight were all Oliveira. He out kickboxed, wrestled and grappled Chandler for a solid 20 minutes. Had him hurt a couple times. Was working over the back trying to get the RNC. But he was exhausted in the 5th. Chandler finally found some offense in the 5th. He landed a series of overhand lefts (?) after being forced to switch stances because of leg kicks. Had Oliveira rocked. Oliveira tried to crash into him for a takedown but ended up with his face to the canvas and Chandler on top of him. Chandler then proceeded to throw like 10 straight shots directly to the back of Oliveira's head. (Chandler is dirty as hell. He did that earlier in the fight too, as well as grabbing the cage, inside Do Bronx's gloves, and poking him in the eye). Oliveira somehow weathers all of that to reclaim guard and then push Chandler away. Chandler goes for one last desperation swing but is exhausted. As he missed Oliveira dives on the hips, gets Chandler's back and drags him down to hold out to the end of the fight.

Joaquin Buckley batters Colby Covington for 3 rounds to doctor stoppage due to cut!

Was really hoping Buckley sent Colby into retirement with a big KO but this works. Hopefully I never have to see that man's face ever again.

Buckley lit Covington up on the feet. Was really active with the body work, the lead hand (jab was nice), and the kicks. When he stayed off the cage, Covington could not wrestle him down. And while Colby did get to wrestle a bit and did land some strikes, it was clear he was not confident at any point after Buckley stuffed that first takedown. It was great!
