Remember when I said Frisco and Trolley were the first exclusives for the #mylittleponyfair in 2006? Well, I almost forgot - in 2005, Hasbro brought along a bunch of ponies they said would be released later in stores as special gifts for the collectors, but she never was! Which technically made her the first Fair exclusive in 2005 - Bay Breeze! I happened to get her by chance; she was on the prize table at the 2006 Fair, and when I won first place for the San Francisco themed art contest, I grabbed her! Frisco and Trolley! I was lucky enough to be present at the 2006 My Little Pony Fair, where they unveiled their first exclusive ponies - which had been Love Wishes with added laser decorations! Some folks don’t consider these two official exclusives (they aren’t listed on the MLP Fair exclusives page of the wiki!), but I think they’re pretty awesome! #mylittlepony #mlp #g3mlp #mlpg3 #mylittleponyfair

Trolley, Frisco’s twin sister! She was (as I recall) a surprise announcement at the #mylittleponyfair in 2006, a second exclusive pony for the same con! What a fun surprise - I remember being so worried they would run out by the time I got to the front of the line!! She came with a lovely little card stating her name and number, and that’s tucked away somewhere... “safe” in my room. 😛 #mylittlepony #mlp #mlpg3 #g3mlp

Who is your favourite exclusive pony?

OH BOY this is a tough question!! I struggle even to pick one favorite pony from each gen because I’m so indecisive!!!

I know I’m guilty of thinking ‘it’s rare and expensive!’ is a good stand-in for how much I personally enjoy a pony, so I want to say Bay Breeze, but I know some of it’s because of how rare she is! But I also got her in a really lucky, fun way (winning an art contest at the Fair! my first ever MLP Fair!!) so she has a unique story in how she came to me, and I love love LOVE her pose too! I love that sweet, staring-up pose, and her soft pastel hair just shines against her white body - sigh! So lovely!! And she SMELLS GOOD TOO!!

I also love the other two exclusives I got at the same Fair, Frisco and Trolley! I think the Love Wishes pose is probably my ... third? second? favorite pose, tied with the next pony’s pose. ;) The bold colors and the intimacy of a tiny con lasering their own exclusives out of Hasbro extras is really sweet, and reminds me of how small the Fair used to feel! Plus - how often do you see LASERED ponies?!

I also love my very first SDCC pony, the red superhero, because she’s in one of my OTHER all-time favorite poses, and I love her bold, dynamic colors! I went in-person (first and only time!) to SDCC to try and get her for myself and other collectors, and I only managed to get two ponies. But I got her (by begging someone else in line to get me one, eek!), and I was so afraid I wouldn’t - but I did! So she has the ‘thrill of the hunt’ attached to her too, plus with all of her other loveliness!

A runner up would probably be the 2008 UK pony, “Bumblebee” - I haven’t posted her yet, but she’s got this intricate art all over her, with yellow hair; I just adore her! Another runner up would be the Egyptian pony from 2011, she’s stunning in person, and I can’t wait to share her! But although I love both of these girls aesthetically, they don’t have the really intimate “story” behind them that the first two do, so I’m not as ... ‘bonded’ to them? Would that be the right word?
