I just realized, that the only interactions Felix has had with Marinette (not LB, just civilian) have been about her loving Adrien. Ok, they technically didn’t meet until Emotion, but in the episode Felix, he watched all the videos from Adrien’s friends, and in Marinette’s she confessed. Then the next time Felix sees this girl again, she’s making another declaration of her love for him. That would literally be Felix’s only impression of Marinette- how much she loves his cousin. No wonder the dude spared her!

Adrien didn’t like thinking about Project Oxygen.

It was a time when Adrien’s words were twisted against him, a time when his father had ordered him to his room for protesting. His father had told, reminded him that he was the face of Gabriel, his words and deeds carried expectations that he was supposed to follow.

Plagg had asked later if there was an “unquestioned” tied to that. Adrien didn’t want to know the answer.

It had been two weeks since he’d been let out for anything but school, and Nathalie had to encourage Father to let him continue. She’d claimed that the schedule wouldn’t account for rehiring old tutors and meeting with Damocles. He thanked her profusely.

Adrien was doing a piano solo for Kitty Section, turning the piano into a rain storm as Rose bellowed a tune about April showers bringing May flowers. It was fun in a way that performing by himself never approached.

And then massive vines attacked the Couffaine houseboat.

Emerging from the Seine was a woman with red hair, green skin, and a darker green pantsuit covered in what looked like cactus needles.

“Where is Adrien Agreste! He will die for what he did against the Plant Kingdom!”

Adrien found himself backing away at the sight of a Gotham Rogue in the middle of Paris.

So I've come to a decision

I'm not particularly happy with how Briar Rose is going. It feels daunting and even though I have an outline it's so...difficult to just sit down and write it. It took me SIX MONTHS to finish Chapter 2, and I'm already on the same path with Chapter 3.

I don't want this sword of Damocles hanging over my head. I genuinely like the idea of this story and I do want to finish writing it...but at this time it's turning into something I don't want to do.

So I am Temporarily unlisting it. Once I'm sure I have written what I want to be written (which, frankly, maybe the whole kabutal), I will repost it to AO3 for your enjoyment.

I truly appreciate your patience and interest in reading my story.

(As for BFIF, I'm slowly but surely chipping away at the Epilogue. I can't guarantee a timeframe, but I am working on it. And it will remain LISTED)

Idea about the miraculous multiverse special that probably won’t happen (but let me have fun spitballing): Claw Noir isn’t actually evil, he’s just being amok-controlled by Shadybug/Toxinelle. And when they get to our miraculous universe, she’ll try to take our Adrien’s amok, which he’d be completely unaware of bc Marinette never told him what the rings are, so that’ll be how he finds out about the senti thing (which would of course make him super angry, after he has time to be devastated about the truth).

Another cruel/angsty idea: if that butterfly guy is still Gabe in that universe, he doesn’t know Claw Noir is his son, he just vanished one day (and his amok), so he thinks he either ran away, was kidnapped, or was killed. So possible motivation to fight supervillains.

Do I think any of this will happen? No. Is it fun to make ideas because I’m still unhappy about how the Gabriel and the Sentimonster thing was handled? Absolutely.

Maybe I’ll even write a fic with these ideas lol (though would be after it comes out so I actually know what the evil versions’ goal is)

viperinette is so special to me like hello i just think that instead of all those fics of marichat’s friendship/relationship being exposed we should have some of viperinette as well unlike chat viperion does know mari is lb and he would take her opinions so seriously (puts her judgement over his own actually bc she is the more experienced hero) and i can just imagine viperion and chat thinking they should go w one route but being slightly unsure bc lb isnt there and mari pipes up with a different suggestion and viperion is like yes. senpai i defer to u always

and i know im a lovesquare/cn/adrien disliker but i genuinely do think chat respects mari canonically (i’m not even talking abt s5. literally from evillustrator) ive never doubted that he does genuinely think she is smart and stuff BUT he also has a bit more of the ‘i’m a superhero leave everything to me i need to protect you’ mindset. which isn’t one of the reasons i dislike him because genuinely that is fair enough or at least close enough to fair that i don’t mind it coming from a 14 year old groomed into to being a superhero but you have to admit that viperion/luka is significantly more likely to take mari seriously and even before viperion finds out abt maribug i’m sure he would listen to her opinion. his dad trusts marinette to make decisions too hehe all the guitar boys worship mari
