I honestly don’t care what anyone says, I really like sublime after watching the new episode

She doesn’t seem like a bad character and if is IS trying to steal Adrien so be it he’s never had eyes for any of the other girls (maybe except for kagami) and I don’t expect him to fall for sublime now that he’s in a relationship with marinette

Plus shes good representation for the people with prosthetics imagine being disabled and not having a lot of representation in media you watch? A lot of people must feel that way

But imagine little kids with prosthetics or just simply no legs or just one watching miraculous and seeing a character with the same disability as them? Honestly if I were that kid I’d be so happy and so seen

I’m disabled and my younger sister is an amputee, honestly I love Sublime, I see a lot of myself and my sister in her. Her drive to be the best version of herself, the pressure to always be perfect to makeup for her disability, this idea that you have to tackle everything yourself, and not ask for help because you don’t want to “manipulate people” using your disability.

It did not come off to me that the writers saw her being disabled as a character flaw. Instead they’re trying to portray the very real pressure that’s put on disabled people to be a perfect person. They’re not trying to say that she has to be perfect to makeup for her disability, they’re trying to show that the pressure her mom and society places on her make her FEEL that she needs to be perfect to makeup for her disability.

I loved that she joked about her disability because I related to it a lot.

I loved the scene where even after her prosthetics broke she felt the need to pretend everything was alright. I even got a bit choked up because I find myself often doing the exact same thing with my disability. I’m so dead set on doing everything myself because society has taught me that I’m an annoyance for struggling. But feel the need to pretend things are okay when they aren’t and suffer in silence because I don’t feel like I’m allowed to be upset about my disability.

Sublime is truly and honestly one of the most relatable and well written disabled characters in my opinion and I will defend her with my life

Side note: as much as everything I said is true, it is just my opinion, you’re absolutely entitled to yours, I’m not trying to throw shade or anything, I just had some very passionate opinions lol

(If this comes off as rude please tell me, I tried my best to word it respectfully but I’m autistic and sometimes things come off as rude when I never would have even thought it was, but I’m trying to do better about that I really genuinely don’t want beef)

Thoughts on Sublimation - Sublime

Okay, first of all, girl needs a real ass name not just "Sublime" please tell me that's a nickname.

But also omg so pretty with her hair like this okay.

But real thoughts now. I don't like how Mary Sue she is. Don't get me wrong, I do really like her so far, but she's just... TOO likeable. She has no character flaws. To me, it's coming off like the writers thought "disabled" and "traumatized" counted as character flaws which is frankly insulting.

I'm hoping I'm wrong here and they're gonna reveal more about her that will add some more interest and flaws, but, seriously, her being disabled is NOT a flaw, and there's no need to make her perfect to "make up" for her disability. It gives me disability inspiration obsession vibes, which is icky. Disabled people do NOT have to "overcome" their disability and be AMAZING people just to be worth your attention.

Again, I hope I'm wrong, the show has dealt with disability better before, but I truly just hope they add some spice beyond *trauma*, which is also not a character flaw.

I AM excited to see what they do with her!

hi i haven’t watched miraculous in a bit, who the fuck is sublime?

ahhh, she's a leaked character from season 6 episode 3 who's a track runner with leg prosthetics. her whole episode involves marinette stalking her and maybe tampering with her prosthetics somehow? simply because she jogs with adrien in the mornings. she wants to befriend her lol

other than that, plus the fact that her mom is her trainer, her dad might be involved with making/repairing her prosthetics, and she's good enough to get medals/warrant sponsorships... we don't know much about her.

well. other than a very funny possible script leak that mentions she loves someone else, which seems to make her episode mirror Adoration much more than one would expect...

so, i've decided to give her more depth—below the surface, she's marinette's exact breed of insane, just on the opposite side. she salivates over the fantasy of someone watching her every move, of someone knowing every minute detail about her life. there's no clear reason as to why she's like this, just that she is.

Adrien and Marinette were so neurodivergent in Sublimation.

“Marinette doesn’t trust him” “Adrien kept things from Marinette” WRONG. Adrien just took her question way too literally. Adrien knows that Marinette can’t make friends the normal way and appreciates her weird little quirks and translates what they mean in Marinette for Sublime.

Thoughts on Sublimation - New Rules?

So the end of the episode shows Marinette realizing as Ladybug that SHE was the real "villain" this time and returned to the racetrack to fix things.

And somehow she... fixed Sublime's prosthetics? Even though all previous "rules" for the ladybugs were that they could only fix AKUMATIZED villain's damage (EDIT: rather, damage done DURING the akumatization, and her prosthetics were damaged BEFORE). This was always a really big point and was emphasized at various parts.

So is this just a weird plot point they decided to throw out to make things work out better, or is this a growth in Marinette's powers? Thoughts?

The point of Ladybug being immune to Sublimation’s power isn’t that she is the best person she can be period; it’s that she is the best person she can be right now, with the cards she’s been dealt. And these cards are, admittedly, pretty terrible.

She’s still flawed as a girlfriend, as a superheroine, as a guardian, as a human being! She still makes mistakes and still needs to face consequences! That was the entire point of the Miraculous Cure fixing the damage she caused. Like any teenager, any person really, she still has room to learn and grow!

But, crucially, the people who love her (in this case, Chat Noir, but we also see it from Alya and Sublime) are willing to meet her where she is: their affection and support are not conditional on the progress she hasn’t yet gotten a chance to make. And Marinette loves them as they are in turn — I think we’ll all agree Chat Noir’s mental health definitely isn’t optimal, yet he was able to break free from the spell too, simply because she believed he could!

I think there’s a lesson to be learnt here. The power of love always so strong, and all that.
