Here’s a snippet of chapter two!

The gray morning sunshine poured in from the wide window exactly when my eyelids were becoming heavy and comfortable. I exhaled loudly, and rubbed eyebrows; another day with another migraine but this time from four days of not resting. I wished it was just “not resting”, and not running in and out of danger only to find the real person who killed your parents.

Once the sunshine was bright enough, a knock on the door was heard. It wasn’t just an agent because, whoever it was, they knew I had been here and not in my house. My knuckles turned pale around the chair handles as I braced for Falkus to break in once more.

They knocked again. So it was one of the boys.

“Come in.” My weak voice sounded strange to me.

Asfel emerged from the other side. He was already wearing his gears. His gray lips were curled in uncertainty. I sank further in my seat.

He approached the desk, his eyes roaming over the mess.

“You found it.” He mumbled, his unsure finger observed the crumbled paper on top. He chewed on his lower lip.

“You can’t do this.” He paused. “I can’t lose you again. We need you here.”

Get WIP Wednesday'd nerds. This one isn't from the upcoming chapter, but from a one-shot I started cooking featuring mainly @chadillacboseman's JJ

“Fuck,” Jeremiah “JJ” Mitchell breaths as he stares at the security monitors. “Blade owes me one hell of an explanation.”

Weeks ago now, Special Forces had reached out to Falcon Company with information and a plan. Reports were that the Black Dragon Clan had been contracted to steal research and prototypes from an experimental botanical facility. JJ had thought it laughable at the time. Those reckless drug runners targeting a bunch of plants? Still, Sonya Blade had insisted the intel was good and she had a point when she said it was the money Kano cared about. Not the plants. So JJ had agreed. His Falcon Company would lay in wait while Sonya Blade's Special Forces secreted away the target leaving nothing but a cage to close around whatever Dragon fell into their trap.

Still, JJ had his doubts. Kano always seemed to sniff these traps out somehow so he figured there were only two likely scenarios. One: No one would show and Falcon Company would get a nice little paycheck for sitting out in the empty expanse of Montana for over a month. Two: Kano would use the trap to dispose of some low-level know-nothing he was sick of hanging around. Better than nothing, but ultimately unlikely to know anything Special Forces didn't already.

Despite his misgivings, Falcon Company still planned as if someone competent would show. Focusing on a short list of those JJ considered most competent among the clan's agents. Doors and walls were reinforced in case that big fucker with the man bun and a fondness for explosives showed. Steel bars to drop for someone like Alora, though with her purpose in the gang being brawling he could only imagine her appearing as a scenario two situation. Most of all he'd been hoping for that jackass Carver. How good it would've felt to see that smug smile fade away as the Faraday cage came crashing down to toast his annoying nanobots.

But at the end of the day the simple fact remained. This was supposed to have been a low level theft job for the clan. So why the hell was he here? That cursed red and black figure his men called a demon. On Special Forces documents, referred to only as the Blood Sniper after he began appearing two years ago. Usually miles from the action raining bloody hellfire with a sniper rifle and vanishing long before anyone could pinpoint where he was. The last time JJ had managed to get remotely close to him, he could only marvel at the man's skills because the bastard had immediately blown his artificial leg out with his rifle before turning on his team. Disarming them all with small arms fire and then crushing limbs with an overwhelming wave of blood. There had been no deaths, but a few retirements after that... Not to mention that was the fourth time the Blood Sniper had specifically destroyed his leg. A trend JJ was none to happy about.

His mind raced as he watched the cloaked figure slip from camera to camera. None of their plans could hold him. Not when he could simply turn into a puddle of blood and slip through security measures. He could order his men to group up and pump him so full of bullets he'd be too exhausted from healing. Probably a few more retirements out of that, but... a lump formed in JJ's throat. A rare twinge of sympathy for a member of the Black Dragon clan striking deep into his gut.

No. No he couldn't do that. Not after what he'd seen the first time he'd met the Blood Sniper. Years before he was ever known by that moniker during a Special Forces' raid gone wrong. He could still remember it like it was yesterday. Just how inexcusably sloppy Cassie Cage and her team had been that night resulting in a little girl losing her hand and the boy... He'd never forget the boy. Clothes ripped apart; dried blood on almost every inch of him; the twisted scar he later learned was from rapidly healing from Takeda's ordinance going off next to his head. That unnaturally split black and red hair that he was currently tracking across the cams. Unlike the other members, he couldn't imagine the boy had any choice in the path his life took.

It would be an earful from Sonya Blade later, but... perhaps he should save himself the casualties and just let the boy go.

13. talk about a wip you like!

oooh~ thats hard. cause i have multiple wips im exited about right now. So i'll just talk about my top few.

theres this one with Tangled Star MK and Nezha. I need to wrap up the lineart and then start coloring.

theres this one where im doodling TS Nezha with an OC that was basically inspired by him. I call thier Duo WildLotus. Thier my dangerous little guys. this entire canvas is really just a bunch of doodle wips. nothing too detailed.

This rough concept for an oc i'll get too eventually, it was inspired after watching Frieren. The pose she does while floating with her staff reminded me of this oc so i had to try it out. I need to figure out how to draw wolves though. Because while those creatures aren't wolves, thier body shape is inspired by wolves. so i need to figure out how to work it into this species and what i wanna change. thats rlly the only thing keeping me from this wip rn.

22. do you have a favorite color palette to work with?

nooooott really? I dont think so at least. I dont think i have color palletes. I've never really worked with specific color palletes before so I wouldnt know 😅

the closest i can think of is that i've noticed recently that i tend to lean towars warmer tones rather then cold.

Day 22: Friendship

Guess who got scammed into a hangout with the frenemies, Redson that who.

My motivation to finish coloring is down, so here is this drawing. This was actually the original drawing for day 12: acceptance but it looks better with the friendship prompt, so I kept this for day 22 and made a new drawing for day 12. That is one of the reasons why the body proportion looked different from the last drawing, and my inability to recreate the same body proportion.

Tagged by @theelderhazelnut last week but until last week I didn't write anything in several weeks, possibly a month even. Anyway...

Sabbia would look away, shugging. Muchacha walks out and heads off all the way back to her home, slightly wobbling around as she walks through the streets. As she roams the streets, she overhears a conversation between two people, one in a purple cape and one with a raspy voice. She hides behind a wall, listening closely as she shakes her head. 

HAVIK: Now then, do you remember what I told you?

JAY: Be gay, do crime?

Havik’s eyebrows drop, as he facepalms.

HAVIK: The OTHER thing I told you?

JAY: Oh. Yeah, I do.

They said, taking a strange amulet out of their pocket. Then they put it back and looked back at Havik, who handed Jay a strange looking device.

HAVIK: When the time comes, tomorrow at high noon, you will toss this in the palace throne room and get out as fast as possible. Understood?

Jay nods, putting it in her adventure satchel. Havik puts his hand on their shoulder. Muchacha squinted, and turned away as soon as her eyes met Havik’s. Jay looks at Havik in the eyes as he looks away.

JAY: Something wrong, pookie?

Havik snaps back, tuning over to Jay.

HAVIK: Oh, i-its nothing. Just stick to the plan.

Jay nods, and turns away from the kleric of chaos.

HAVIK: Wait, Jay, before you go…

Jay turns, and Havik gives them a big hug as he whispers into his ear.

HAVIK: Stay safe, and may chaos be with you.

Havik and Jay then walk off in different directions as Muchacha walked off while looking back at them.

I finally started writing THE series. I wrote the first chapter about a year ago, but I decided to rewrite it. So here is a snippet. This is nor proofread!

“Why isn’t it working?!” Argen whisper-shouted, scanning his suroundings in hurry for the hundredth time.

“Shhh.” I hushed him, swallowing the heat of anger that was slowly building up in my chest.

A green light beeped. The heavy gates moved, the sound of metal running harshly on metal deafening to the core. The five of us stepped in the hallway, our bodies bent forward in a prepared posture.

Guns fired. Bullets blasted in the air, overloading our senses. I dashed forward, my bullets raining on the mercenaries. They collapsed one by one. At the end of the hallway, more of them were sprinting at us.

I sighed, stretched out my arm and flexed it to the ceiling. Hills of iron emerged from the floor, penetrating wide circles on their bodies. Their screams scratchy from pain, trailed off in echoes. We ran past the iron hill, neglecting the streams of blood pouring all the way to the pale floor. Having metal magic flowing through your veins would, by default, draw violent behavior out of you. And for people like us, the heads of the Metalrealm Resistance and Defense Organization, it was hundred times worse.
