I think that moment in Stulfitera Navis where Amaia says that the Seaborn becoming more human is not evolution is kind of hilarious because a) she says this AFTER Specter put a hole in her gut so it’s like shes bitter she couldn’t have her proper Utena moment with Specter b) Mizuki is ALREADY out here just living his best goddamn life completely separate from the Church of the Deep nonsense fully a Seaborn just enjoying life and thinking all other Seaborn should go Splatoon the way he did c) when the First To Talk fought the Abyssal Hunters it didn’t immediately choose violence and more than anything became the way it did as a way to open dialogue and find common ground with the Abyssal Hunters, going so far as having it’s last words be a promise that one day the Seaborn will understand emotion and that they also want to understand Gladiia and the Abyssal Hunters, which implies that the moment any Seaborn gets a taste of humanity it immediately decides that being human fucking rules and they want to be like them
