My Opinions on Every VRAINS Ship
Well, every VRAINS ship that has an official ship name here on Tumblr, plus three bonus ships at the end that don’t have names but I’m familiar enough with to talk about. Gonna go in alphabetical order by their ship names because that’s the easiest and most unbiased way to do it. Gonna be rating them on a scale from: NO, not my thing, funny or cute idea, like, and love.
Because fair warning, I really don’t like some of these ships.
Abyssalshipping (Ai x Aqua)
NO. The one thing I dislike about Manjome in GX is his weird, sometimes creepy crush on Asuka and… yeah, it’s the same thing here. Not nearly as bad, as it’s less focused on and Ai doesn’t try to make her be with him or anything, but still, really weird and unappealing ship. I much prefer them platonically, which is what they are in Flame of Life.
Aiballshipping (Ai x Yusaku)
This is my OTP of VRAINS, and probably in all of Yugioh if I’m being honest with myself. I love their dynamic, their back and forths, all the build up and little moments throughout the series leading up to that gut punch of a finale. Their relationship is also the one thing keeping the VRAINS storyline of Duel Links afloat for me don’t @ me.
Algorithmshipping (Kengo x Shoichi)
Honestly, I had never heard of this ship before I read the list so I have no real opinion on it. Not really sure how it would work but I don’t mind its existence I suppose.
Altarshipping (Aoi x Ema)
NO. I always saw Ema as more of an older sister figure to Aoi, emphasis on “older” because Aoi is a minor and Ema… never had her age confirmed to my knowledge but watching the show, I always interpreted her as in her twenties. Early twenties sure, but too old to be with a minor.
Almondshipping (Aoi x Miyu x Yusaku)
Each of these individual ships are coming up and I have wildly different opinions on each of them so for now I’ll say I’m indifferent to this specific throupple, but throupples in general are nice to have.
Angelmakershipping (Aoi x Yusaku)
No. Out of all the ships here that aren’t like… illegal or messed up on this list, this is the one I hate the most. Because it feels so obligatory. Like in the blissful days before the god awful VRAINS dub, it was only a ship because “he was a boy she was a girl can I make it any more obvious” when they don’t have that kind of relationship at all. I think it’s actually novel and really nice that despite some pointless teasing early on, they were only ever friends and Aoi had a character arc and development completely separate from Yusaku. I feel like making their relationship romantic would’ve just ruined that. It’s not my bias to Aiball, trust me, I ship both Yusaku and Ai with other characters as well (as you’ll see coming up). This ship just really rubs me the wrong way, especially because the dub warped the text of the show to push this ship more, which coupled with their gay erasure, comes off as gross to me.
Blueghostshipping (Aoi x Spectre) NO. Even harder NO than the last one, jesus christ. Spectre is a huge creep to her, psychoanalysing her out of nowhere, manipulating her, and then beating her to death… in a card game but that’s basically assault in the YGO universe.
Blackholeshipping (Jin x Ryoken)
Really random (with only one canon interaction that is not good) but I honestly really like this ship. It has some really fun content here on Tumblr and the way I personally characterise Jin is this really cheerful upbeat person, who isn’t fazed by others’ rudeness. So Ryoken’s bluntness wouldn’t faze them at all. I just really like the whole “the sunshine one lifts up the grumpy one” trope and this ship, and really any Jin ship for that matter, is that dynamic to me. Plus I love Ryoken so putting him in that dynamic is really fun.
Braveangelshipping (Aoi x Shima)
No. I don’t have a strong take on this one like I do some of the other no’s, it’s just… no. He certainly has a crush on her, but I can’t see her ever requiting.
Bulletstormshipping (Ryoken x Windy)
Okay so this one’s tricky. I enjoy shipping Ryoken with Ignis and I really love both of these characters. There’s also pretty good content for this ship out there. But… the way I characterise purple eyes Windy (aka: Windy’s true personality) is really sensitive and kind of clingy, and he would be especially emotionally vulnerable after finding out that after his data was rewritten, he killed his origin. And blunt Ignis racist Ryoken would not be a good match for that. This is why the only WindRyo piece I’ve written is set at a point where they’re far into their relationship for the record. Ryoken taking in Windy as his partner (in the Ignis way but potentially the human way eventually) is a very cute potentially funny concept as long as one or both of these sides of them are scaled back. So while I like this ship, it’s not one I can see myself writing much.
Canineshipping (Akira x Kengo)
Like the ship name, don’t care for anything else about it. Okay come to think of it, maybe I just don’t care much about Kengo, because his ships are the only ones I’ve had virtually no opinion on so far…
Cauterizeshipping (Flame x Takeru x Ryoken)
My most recent currently ongoing fanfic, Flame of Life, is about this throupple. I love every individual ship in it, and I love the dynamic the three of them have. (Especially Flame and Takeru teasing the hell out of Ryoken, last week’s chapter was probably my favourite to write in the whole fic.) This is my favourite polyship in Yugioh, by a landslide. It doesn’t have any basis in canon, but the potential was enough to suck me in and write my own narrative for them that I’m really in love with.
Celebshipping (Go Onizuka x Yusaku)
I don’t really like Go Onizuka because he’s a different person every time we see him so it’s hard to get invested in him but this ship is fine. Go is a bit old for him but three years isn’t as bad as some of the other ships’ age gaps. It is a ship that exists I suppose.
Charismashipping (Aoi x Go Onizuka)
Same as above. This is indeed a ship that exists.
Chatshipping (Shima x Yusaku)
Similar to Braveangel, I think Shima has a crush on Playmaker, but I can’t see Yusaku ever requiting that, especially since he canonically finds Shima stupid and annoying. So no.
Chesspieceshipping (Go Onizuka x Queen)
No. She was willing to let him die with that AI chip implant stunt. Also, I don’t like either of them, but I hate Queen far more.
Cobrashipping (Go Onizuka x Ryoken)
I love Ryoken and am not attached to mister Go so this ship is not my thing. Their duel was pretty good though.
Coexistshipping (Ai x Pandor)
Uuuuuuuuuuh.
I mean, I see Ai as gay (or attracted to men I guess) but if I had to ship him with a girl, Pandor is probably the best option? So I don’t ship it but it’s fine. It’s harmless.
Conduitshipping (Akira x Ema x Shoichi)
No. I’ll elaborate on why in the Ema/Shoichi section.
Crystalheartshipping (Aqua x Earth)
Finally another ship I like. Earth’s crush on Aqua was cute, as much as I make fun of the whole “pushing Aqua off the hoverboard” thing. Still, it’s cute. Basic, but cute.
Cybersedragonshipping (Firewall Dragon x Topologic Bomber Dragon)
I have no idea why this is a ship, but I’m glad it is because it’s really funny. I don’t like Datastorm, but I can get behind this.
Darkcrystalshipping (Ai x Aqua x Earth)
Normally, I would say/joke that the best solution to a love triangle is polyamory but in this case… Aqua does not like Ai, and I do not like that ship. So I don’t care for this one.
Darkfireshipping (Ai x Flame)
Meh. I only ever saw this as platonic but it’s perfectly harmless. Would make a funny enemies to lovers fic honestly.
Datastormshipping (Yusaku x Ryoken)
I never saw the appeal of this one. I still don’t get why Yusaku was so desperate to reform/reach out to Ryoken after Ryoken said to his face that he regretted saving his life and the fact that this ship is just… everywhere and often characterises these two in ways I don’t personally agree with makes me really not care for it. I don’t hate it like I hate some of these other ships but I do feel nothing toward it. So it’s a no.
Daybreakshipping (Yusaku x Jin)
Nah. I always think of these two as siblings so I can’t see a romantic relationship between them.
Any Haru ship
I have this opinion for every ship involving Haru: I know he’s an AI, but he looks and acts like a little kid so I don’t feel comfortable shipping him with any of the teens or adults. So all of his ships are a no.
Dischargeshipping (Jin x Lightning)
This one’s weird for me. I really ship my version of it in Blissful Ignorance: where Lightning isn’t a human hating serial killer that tortures children, they’re just kind of a jerk and Jin has no memory of them so their dynamic is essentially a “tsundere/deredere” and “the cheerful one lifts up the grumpy one” dynamic and also Jin is getting revenge without either of them realising it. And that’s how I like the ship. Other renditions of the ship… vary because the canon foundation is just awful and fucked up. So this ship is a yes in very specific circumstances.
Disastershipping (Ryoken x Takeru x Yusaku)
Really funny name and throupples are fun but I really only care for one of the pairings in this set romantically so it’s not my thing.
Elfinshipping (Ema x Hayami)
I hate Hayami so no. Ema is a lesbian probably, but Ema also deserves better.
Embershipping (Ryoken x Flame)
My favourite Ryoken/Ignis ship. Not really for anything canon (although I do like the scene where Flame tells Takeru that it’s possible Ryoken was trying to apologise to him) by throwing their duel but because of how I wrote in my story, Flame of Life. It’s just both precious and hilarious.
Emissaryshipping (Yusaku x Playmaker)
…what? No.
Entrustshipping (Takeru x Kiku)
Confession time: the first time I watched VRAINS, I thought Takeru and Kiku were brother and sister. Now that I know they’re not, I just find it really odd that Takeru asked this random friend of his to look after his grandparents while he fucked off to another city with no indication he intended to ever return until the very end of the series when he’d already been gone for a long time. Maybe Kiku was just his only friend at the time, the only person he could trust with something as big as this, which… sure, okay. But still, not telling her he intended to return and just taking off like that? That’s weird.
So I never really got into this ship. It feels like another obligatory “he was a boy she was a girl,” though I don’t vehemently hate this ship like I do Yusaku/Aoi. So it’s… fine. It’s a ship that exists.
Extinguishshipping (Flame x Windy)
Again, I really like these two platonically, and I can see where the ship comes from, but I don’t quite see it romantically.
Fireballshipping (Flame x Takeru)
Yeeees, love these little beans. I’ve always loved their canon dynamic and I always love reading fics about them. I love that Flame supports him but also isn’t above roasting him.
Firestormshipping (Takeru x Yusaku)
…yeah, I never got into this one. I honestly expected to ship it more than I did, but I vastly prefer it platonically than romantically. Nothing wrong with the ship, it’s just not my cup of tea.
Gateshipping (Ema x Ryoken)
No. She seems a little too old for him. I know Ryoken is 18 but that still seems too young to be dating someone who’s seemingly in her mid twenties.
Hireshipping (Ema x Akira)
I mean… I admittedly shipped this a bit on my first viewing, despite my meme about Ema being a lesbian. But like… I can kinda see this ship and her being bi instead. So, this is a very light “I ship it” but… yeah, I kinda do.
Hotdogshipping (Yusaku x Shoichi)
No. They’re stupidly far apart in age (with Yusaku also being a minor) and I always interpreted their relationship as more of a brotherly one.
Hydrogenshipping (Lightning x Aqua)
Absolutely freaking not, I might like Lightning as a character but Aqua deserves way better than them!
Ignisshipping (Ai x Aqua x Earth x Flame x Lightning x Windy)
…okay, I don’t particularly ship any pair in this romantically (besides Aqua/Earth) but I’m gonna say I ship it out of the humour and chaos factors alone. This is hilarious.
Infectshipping (Aso x Kyoko)
Yeah sure. I get behind this. I can especially get behind these two being a couple and also acting like parental or older sibling figures to Ryoken. That’s cute.
Lieutenantshipping (Aso x Genome x Kyoko)
I don’t like Genome. This ship is better without him.
Manipulateshipping (Ema x Kengo)
HARD NO. THEY ARE SIBLINGS.
Yes, half siblings, but they’re still related by blood and know they’re siblings. If this ship came about before it was revealed they were siblings, then I get it, but they’re siblings now so this ship is a hard no for me.
Mascotshipping (Ai x Shoichi)
Nah. Although the reason behind the name is funny.
Monkeyshipping (Ryoken x Shima)
Again, really funny ship name but I don’t particularly ship it. I wouldn’t be adverse to reading about it though. I have plenty of ships that revolve around the concept of annoying the shit out of Ryoken and honestly? The more the merrier. It’s what he deserves.
Monopolyshipping (Poly SOL executives)
…okay this is the best ship name out of all of them. It’s funny as shit but also legitimately clever. I’m won over to it by that fact alone… even though I don’t know exactly what the ship entails XD
Moonlightshipping (Miyu x Yusaku)
Wow. What a pretty ship name for a ship I give absolutely no shits about. I’d take it over Yusaku/Aoi, mostly because I can imagine Miyu’s adult personality to be whatever I want it to be (which for me is very positive and extroverted, so a good contrast to Yusaku’s introverted pessimism) so I can see them having actual chemistry beyond friendship. Plus Aoi and Ai acting as wingmen to Miyu and Yusaku respectively is a really cute idea, especially if it’s with the intent of inducing them into a polycule.
…actually you know what? I take it back, I can actually get behind this ship. It’s obviously not one of my favourites or anything, but I could see it being potentially cute.
Motherearthshipping (Earth x Spectre)
Yeah, I ship it. Spectre needs someone in his life he can feel close to who doesn’t have power over him in some way. Uh… spoilers for a later take I guess. This ship is good though.
Pathwayshipping (Ema x Shoichi)
No. I’m pretty sure the only reason this is a ship is because of that dub exclusive scene where Kusanagi… really crosses the customer service line and flirts with one of his customers. Gross. No. Bad.
Patronshipping (Ryoken x Shoichi)
Speaking of shipping Kusanagi with his customers! Yeah, I don’t like this one either. I’m sorry, the art is really pretty and some of the concepts are neat but Kusanagi is waaay too old for him. An 8 year age gap might not be a big deal for people who are 30 and 38 or something but Ryoken is 18 and Kusanagi is 26. You can argue Ryoken acts older but within the show, it is plot relevant that he is around the same age as the lost incident kids, one of which is Kusanagi’s little brother. Ryoken is closer in age to Jin than Kusanagi, who is also a lot older than Jin. So it’s uncomfortable.
Perennialshipping (Aoi x Kiku)
Huh. I didn’t know Kiku was shipped with anyone other than Takeru to be honest. Blue Maiden and Swift Storm should duel. Maybe date I dunno. Cute idea.
Phoenixshipping (Aoi x Takeru)
Okay, super dope ship name, don’t really care for the ship itself. Though that being said, out of the “Superhero” throupple (which I’ll get to) this is probably the pairing I can most understand. Takeru’s fanboying over and admiration for Blue Girl could easily turn into a crush and post canon they could comfort each other over the losses of their Ignis. And maybe bond over them if they ever got them back. I like that better platonically since I prefer other ships, but I can understand this ship.
Pistolshipping (Kengo x Ryoken)
Great ship name but like Kusanagi/Ryoken, Kengo is too old for him. Actually, I think it’s even worse in Kengo’s case because he’s quite a bit older than Ema, who’s also too old for Ryoken, something we learned was the case before these two even met. I’m sorry but a character being “legally of age” does not make large age gaps like these less uncomfortable for me.
Piushipping (Ai x Ryoken)
Ha. And I thought TakeRyo was a hate ship before this ship made its way into my life. I just think that the funniest way for Ai to get his revenge on the Ignis hating dirtbag would be for Ryoken to catch feels for him. Especially if Ai… well, I want to keep this post SFW so let’s just say that while I do ship this, it’s mostly for the memes and *clears throat* NSFW reasons.
Poltergeistshipping (Ema x Yusaku)
No. She’s too old for him. Moving on.
Proveshipping (Aoi x Akira)
No. That’s incest and has a stupidly large age gap of ten years, not to mention he sort of raised her. That’s gross. Moving on.
Rainwatershipping (Aoi x Aqua x Miyu)
Yes! Water throupple! The two water ladies should absolutely have shared custody of the sweet water bean!
Respectfulshipping (Spectre x Ryoken)
I am so sorry, MerryFortune, I love your work, but uh… Ryokie here has too much power over Spectre and recently (while writing Flame of Life especially), I’ve been thinking of these two like siblings. I’m not gonna cry incest or anything, as that’s just my interpretation of their relationship but that and the power imbalance make it really hard for me to see this as a romantic pair like I once did.
Yeah about that… this is actually the only Yugioh ship I’ve ever fallen out of love with. I shipped it when I first watched late season 2, as I disliked both of them at the time and those episodes made me take notice of the fact that despite everything, Spectre and Ryoken actually cared about each other, which I thought was really cute. And I still do, it just… doesn’t work romantically for me. I’d take it over Datastorm though.
Recoilshipping (Takeru x Ryoken)
Damn. Going right from my first Ryoken ship to the one I dropped that ship for. Well, okay, it’s not that simple, but I did start getting into TakeRyo around the time that SpecRyo began falling from grace in my mind. So TakeRyo is like the foundation of what I want out of a Ryoken ship: someone who’s his opposite, who’s willing to call him out on his BS, and be forward enough to annoy/fluster him. Well, in my writing at least, Ryoken was the more forward one at first, and for this particular ship, both work for me but yes I do have a preference for Takeru being the more forward/confident one, at least when they actually start dating. So yeah anyways I ship it. I like how they went from hating each other to being actually kinda okay with each other by the end of the series and damn is their second duel one of my favourites in the whole series.
Roboaishipping (Ai x Roboppi)
No. The jokes about them uh… being intimate in early season 1 feels like early series weirdness with their relationship in season 2 and especially season 3 shifting to more of a brotherly bond. And unlike SpecRyo, that is actually canon: at least to an extent, Roboppi calls Ai “big bro” and just generally looks up to him like an older brother. Even if they aren’t blood related, that is still the relationship they have so I can’t bring myself to ship it. Plus like Haru, Roboppi is baby, he is my son, I can’t ship him with someone who’s far more mature and just older seeming!
Wait a minute… Haru and Roboppi… Haru and… Roboppi… okay, new ship. Haru/Roboppi, Robobroshipping, named so for them both being robots with older brother figures, who’s with me? :D
Rockdustshipping (Earth x Ryoken x Spectre)
Merry, is this ship name your handiwork? :) I know you ship it and as much as I don’t like SpecRyo, I can actually kind of get behind this. Because shipping Ryoken with Ignis is a fun pastime plus EarthSpec and polyamory are certified bangers.
…I just realised it might have been important to note that I’m polyamorous earlier in this post.
Royalghostshipping (Queen x Ema)
No. Ema deserves better. I don’t ship her with Hayami either but even that would be better. Although the most ideal outcome from this set of characters would be the two mean girls getting together and creating the most toxic workplace on earth… okay I probably shouldn’t have described that as ideal. Oops.
Safeshipping (Akira x Shoichi)
Uuuuuuuuugh. Soft nah on this one. There’s nothing wrong with it, I just don’t see the appeal.
Saviorshipping (Ryoken x Spectre x Yusaku)
I don’t like either of these two with Ryoken because he has too much power over both of them, Spectre more so but Ryoken/Yusaku also has the problem of Yusaku putting Ryoken up on a pedestal, just to a lesser degree. And, it’s an issue that would probably be exacerbated by putting the three of them together. So this ship is a no from me.
Scytheshipping (Ema x Kyoko)
Yay! A decent lady for Ema! I ship it!
Yeah, she was a cyber terrorist I guess but she eventually did the right thing :)
Stauroliteshipping (Earth x Aoi)
I am confused why this is a ship (because Aoi took in Aqua maybe?) Cool ship name though, really creative.
Subservientshipping (Jin x Spectre)
Back when I disliked Spectre I hated this ship. Now I’m pretty neutral to it. I can’t think of a particular reason to dislike it but I can’t say I care for it either.
Superheroshipping (Aoi x Takeru x Yusaku)
I love these three as a group of platonic friends. These three plus Ai, Ryoken, and Miyu are pretty much a clique in my VRAINS long fics but I don’t particularly care for it being romantic.
Teardropshipping (Aoi x Aqua)
I mean as you could probably tell from my cheers of “water throupple! :D” earlier, I ship this. I think it’s cute how Aoi took her in and how supportive Aqua was of her in their duels. I wish we could’ve seen more of them together. Duel Links, I’m still pissed at you for fucking up Revolver so badly, but make this happen!
Tornadoshipping (Windy x Lightning)
No. Lightning is so bad at making friends they have to either create them or brainwash them. Sweet lil Wimdy would never have gone along with Lightning’s plans if not for them brainwashing him! Which is 100% canon, rewatch Lightning vs Revolver, they explicitly say this.
But yeah anyways my point is Windy deserves better.
Trickmirrorshipping (Ryoken x Aoi)
Eeeeeeeeh. Ryoken did try to kill her back when he was evil, but I ship pairings who’ve done far worse to each other. And having another character on team Ignis punching Revolver in the face with their lips is always a good thing…
Wait, am I only considering this because I ship Ryoken/Aqua?
Okay, well, uh, I’d never write this (because I see Ryoken as a gay man who only initially made an exception for Aqua cuz tentacles) but this is honestly a decent ship. Like, if I was tasked with shipping Ryoken with a girl, and it had to be a ship with an official name, this would be my pick.
Vaporshipping (Flame x Aqua)
Meh. They get along pretty well so I can understand where this came from. Not my thing though.
Vestashipping (Ema x Flame)
I’m not surprised this ship exists since they’ve canonically flirted. But uh. No.
Wildfireshipping (Takeru x Spectre)
This seems like it would be very messy. Could work I suppose, though it’s not a ship I’m all that drawn to.
Wisteriashipping (Yusaku x Spectre)
One of my newest ships. I got into this one while straight up searching for characters to ship Spectre with and out of the human pairings, this one stuck out to me the most. So I read a fic about it and… yeah I really like it. I’m very into opposites attract narratives if you can’t tell and these two had the exact opposite reaction to the Lost Incident. Interesting drama :)
Zinniashipping (Aoi x Miyu)
More flowers. Guess these two are water girls and flower girls. Maybe they’re mermaids? :D Anyways, Aoi/Miyu is a yes. They were the tertiary ship in The Lost is Found (even in the bonus chapters) and are featured again and Flame of Life so I think that was obvious. Maybe childhood friends to lovers is also just a favourite trope of mine because I started shipping it pretty much as soon as it was introduced. Maybe it’s the Lion King fan in me.
Okay, bonus ship time! Disclaimer: these are all Ryoken ships, he’s probably my most shipped character in anything.
First off, Ryoken/Miyu. Aka: a rarepair I respect enough to not steal its name, Watergunshipping, after I realised it was being unofficially used for them. Like Ryoken/Aoi, it’s not my thing at all due to my preferences/headcanons but like if people wanna make it an official ship I’d vote in the polls for its name.
Next, Ryoken/Lightning. I suggested a ship name for them but it was generic and I didn’t care enough about this pairing to come up with a new name or push any harder for it to have an official name. Because the only reason I wrote about it was to complete a set, it is not a functioning pairing in the slightest for many reasons. They cannot stand each other. And between the two of them, I actually root for Ryoken more than Lightning so the concept of Lightning getting revenge isn’t even particularly appealing.
Finally, Ryoken/Aqua. My one true exception to Ryoken being exclusively into men. Came for her tentacles, stayed for her cute, beautiful, wonderful soul- I have a crush on Aqua, I admit it. But also pairing the lying gruff tsundere disaster man with the sweet gentle living lie detector Ignis is just a hilarious idea to me. Some of the other Ignis might openly flirt with and try to seduce him, Aqua would just exist around him and watch with a smile as he falls further in love. This is probably the reason I’m a little more okay with Ryoken/Aoi and Ryoken/Miyu. I don’t ship either of them but if he’s with them, Aqua will be close by. Neeheehee :)

Restless Water
Fandom: Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains
Ship: Aqua/Miyu/Aoi
Word Count: 3.5
Synopsis:  Miyu can't sleep and because she can't sleep, she refuses to let Aoi either due to her selfishness and because they can't sleep, Aqua can't sleep as well.
“Aoi…” Miyu mumbled, staring at the ceiling and she nudged her girlfriend. “Aoi…” Her voice was a little louder this time.
Aoi nattered to herself, her hands clutching onto her doona cover and she rolled over.
“Aoi!” Miyu huffed and she ripped herself up from the comfortable dent in the bed. She loomed over Aoi’s body and poked her side, feeling up the rolls of Aoi’s fat through her silky pyjamas and tracing along where her ribs could be vaguely felt underneath her clothes and flesh.
“What?” Aoi groaned, she rolled over again; her face all but landing in Miyu’s lap. She groggily opened her eyes, eyelashes fluttering, as she looked up at Miyu. “It’s so dark, Miyu, go to sleep.”
“I’m just restless, is all.” Miyu replied, not as quiet as she ought to have been.
“I know, I know.” Aoi yawned. “Let me guess, you want some sort of midnight snack? Warm milk with honey and ginger, maybe? Or some chocolate? Either sounds nice to me.”
Miyu licked her lips. “That does sound nice…” she murmured, eyes glittering with gluttony.
Aoi yawned again and this time, she pulled herself up. The doona pooled over her laps with a revelling excess of softness and fabric. She was warm and comfortable.
“Let’s raid the kitchen then.” Aoi suggested.
“I have an even tastier – and sweeter – treat in mind.” Miyu mumbled.
She scooted in a little closer to Aoi and stole a kiss from her lips. Aoi blushed and that incited Miyu further. Miyu placed a hand on Aoi’s lap and she kissed her again. This time, Aoi had the opportunity to kiss back and she did with a muted, tired passion.
“Somehow…” Aoi murmured between quick kisses. “I have a feeling… we don’t have to go to the kitchen… after all.”
“Mmhm.” Miyu hummed, oh so innocently with her voice reverberating on Aoi’s lips.
Aoi attempted to twist around, but Miyu was quicker. She straddled Aoi, hands on both hips, and kissed her. Aoi wanted to half laugh, the noise even making its way through her throat, but never escaped as she kissed back. Miyu tasted faintly of tooth-paste and faintly of morning breath, maybe a hint of the dessert that they had shared after dinner too; of chocolates and cherries. It was a nice taste though, one that Aoi could get addicted to as it emboldened her to slip past Miyu’s dainty lips.
Aoi’s technique had little finesse; she was chaste and bumbling but Miyu didn’t mind. She considered herself the wilder one, more experienced one in the relationship; particularly when it skirted carnality. But she liked to see Aoi try and feel the exchange; of Aoi’s tongue shyly meeting her own, touching along her teeth and gums. She was cute. So very cute and Miyu adored it, the melding of saliva and more.
Miyu held onto Aoi’s shoulders as she allowed herself to be kissed and tongued as she was. For Aoi, it was deep but for Miyu, it felt almost shallow, but she didn’t mind. She closed her eyes to Aoi and let herself absorb fleeting warmth from her and her bed. Aoi’s hands trailed from Miyu’s hips and she pulled blankets closer to them, keeping them warm in the cold night-morning.
“I love you, Aoi…” Miyu murmured as Aoi tried to get her warm.
“I love you too, Miyu.” Aoi replied, voice almost cracking as she was overwhelmed with sincerity and affection.
Their kiss ensued. This time, Miyu took the more domineering role. Aoi thought it suited her. After all, she had always led the charge in the games that they had played as children and as teenagers, she was the more aggressive and extraverted one. Her duelling, for instance, was vicious – even when using such pretty and playful cards like the Marincess ones that Aqua had gifted her. Though, perhaps, it made sense given her background. The other victims of the Lost Incident, Playmaker, Spectre, and even Soulburner, were vicious in their duelling as well because it was how they had survived. Still, Aoi liked taking on Miyu’s toll.
Her tongue trespassed upon her mouth. Poking and prodding, mapping the inner of it with calculated curiosity. She did not close her eyes to Aoi, instead, she took relish in seeing how Aoi reacted. The little twitches upon her cheeks as she elicited noises from Aoi using her tongue. She was quiet, almost repressed, in the moans that Miyu could bring forth from her. The way her eyes behaved behind the guise of their lids delighted Miyu as Aoi held on tighter to her and the blankets around them.
The bed was kindly unmoving beneath them, after all, neither girl particularly wanted to rouse and attract the attention of Akira. But, as they kissed, demure in their noises in blanketing darkness, they had partially forgotten about the other person they may wake. It was her voice, not the twinkling blue light she brought with her, that reminded them that they weren’t wholly alone in Aoi’s bedroom.
“O-Oh!” a small squeak. Aqua pawed at her eyes with her hands, bleary with the artificial sleep that she could take as an AI but, as she saw Miyu in Aoi’s lap and their mouths connected, she roused quicker in embarrassment. “I thought I heard commotion I see I was wrong. I hope I’m not – I hope I’m not interrupting anything.” Her hands flailed in embarrassment but neither girl appeared particularly or, overtly miffed regarding her interruption.
Aoi ceased kissing Miyu as she was. She broke off the kiss and breathed funnily; not quite panting but it was obvious by the grey – what would have been red in better lightning – in her cheeks that she was feeling laboured by what she had done. Miyu turned her head.
“You’re not interrupting anything at all, Aqua.” Miyu replied, a closed-eyed smile which was almost impish. “In fact, you can join us, if you like. We’re getting pretty hot we need something to cool us down.”
“Miyu…” Aoi murmured, not quite scoldingly but close.
It was difficult to ascertain how Aqua figured into their relationship. After all, she was the catalyst for their late adolescent reconnection and she certainly never left, even though she could choose to. In fact, she found a wonderful home in both their Duel Discs, though she spent more time over at Miyu’s place than Aoi’s, nowadays but she enjoyed flitting between them for a variety of reasons. And both girls held Aqua as near and dear to their hearts; experiencing all sorts of affections towards her. Some platonic and some romantic. Regardless, Aqua was certainly not excluded from the intricacies and inner-workings of Aoi and Miyu’s relationship, unlike others who were not even permitted to pry.
Really, the only issue was the fact that it was difficult to date a creature barely the size of their forearms and was supposed to stay a secret.
“I shouldn’t…” Aqua replied, shifting awkwardly where she stood in the pooling digitality of Miyu’s Duel Disc.
“Please?” Miyu asked and then she turned her focus onto Aoi. “Don’t you think it would be nice to let Aqua join us?”
Aoi made an awkward expression. Miyu was far too forward about these sorts of things. She blushed and her gaze darted towards Aqua who seemed to be going through similar motions of bashfulness.
“I mean I love, love, love Aoi and I love, love, love Aqua. So, I would love, love, love it if I could love the both of you at once.” Miyu giggled, she tilted her head to left and her ruddy-auburn hair went tumbling with her movement.
She could be such a child at times, Aoi thought. But she wasn’t necessarily adverse, to the idea. She glanced once more towards Aqua.
“I’m… I’m okay with it, if Aqua is okay with it.” Aoi replied; her voice a little shaky but there was a budding certainty to it.
Aqua nodded; her pigtails bobbing up and down. “I love you both as well. I want to kiss and touch you, as well. I’m curious of that sort of thing, admittedly.”
“Excellent.” Miyu replied, proud as punch.
“Do you, uh, do you need someone to bring you closer? Or are you right?” Aoi asked.
“I’m quite right, thank you.” Aqua replied and upon her reply, she lurched forward and transformed.
Aoi and Miyu had seen Aqua transform a few times before but it never got any less magnificent – or disconcerting, for that matter. The tiny humanoid shape that Aqua occupied on the day-to-day gave way to something far bigger and grander. She became neuron in shape with big, unfurling arms which ended in broad, rounded flats which were unlike fingers or hands. And her markings slightly changed, she donned new ones upon her breast which mimicked her face: big, pink eyes laced with the bright blue looping markings that she normally wore upon her synthetic, pale cyan skin.
Aqua reached out across the space between Aoi’s desk and the double bed. Her tail trailed long and thin yet seemed to span forever as she was able to comfortably curl and wind around them. She plopped down softly over them both, getting comfortable in the loops, bringing them closer with a tight bind.
Aoi’s heart pounded fiercely in the vaguely moist caress of Aqua’s doing. Miyu beamed at her, enjoying how close the embrace was gently – yet forcibly – bringing them. She laughed.
“This is nice.” she said, and she rested her hands on Aoi’s shoulders, fingers fidgeting behind Aoi’s head. She kissed Aoi. “I like it.”
“I like it too.” Aoi kissed back.
“I want to be kissed also.” Aqua piped up and she placed her bulbous, raindrop-shaped head between the girls, breaking up their delicate kiss.
“Of course.” Miyu replied. “Aqua deserves all the kisses.”
Miyu let her hand which was closer to Aqua slip from Aoi’s shoulder. She caressed Aqua’s cheek with it, manoeuvring it awkwardly and then she pressed a kiss onto the corner of Aqua’s deep and wide mouth. Aoi mimicked. She kissed Aqua at the other end.
Aqua was filmy. Her skin was completely different to that of organic matter, yet she still remained soft. It was nice though. Wet, perhaps, but nice.
Aqua smiled as both girls kissed the corners of her mouth. She licked her lips, her navy-blue tongue running along them. She bumped up against the corners of the girls’ mouths, trying to edge them onto something more. Aoi blushed, feeling a prick at the coldness and wetness of Aqua’s tongue but Miyu took it as a challenge.
Aoi continued to meekly kiss the corner of Aqua’s mouth but Miyu dared onwards. Her hand caressed the bottom of Aqua’s face, along the round of Aqua’s chin and coerced her to veer closer to her than Aoi. Miyu kissed directly onto the middle of Aqua’s mouth. Aqua found the kiss to be a strange sensation; vaguely ticklish and incredibly silky thanks to how human Miyu was. Humans were so soft and unguarded in their appearance, as compared to the substance the synthetic material offered the Ignis, coating them thickly to hide their plasticky vulnerabilities beneath.
“Please,” Miyu murmured into the kiss, “open your mouth.”
Aqua swallowed but ultimately obeyed. She widened the kiss slightly. Aoi dropped back, watching because she was fascinated by the cavity inside Aqua’s head; the jagged teeth, the drool, the lolling tongue, all of it perfectly honed to annihilate anything in her path but she was so gentle with them both, not even daring to hint towards the capacity for destruction and ravaging like her male cohort were prone to.
Miyu opened her own mouth in good gesture. She pressed her tongue against Aqua’s, iniating her own domineering stance against the more submissive Ignis. Aqua widened her mouth slightly and Miyu’s steely-coloured eyes keened as she licked at Aqua’s tongue and the fluids dripped at it. Aoi watched, far too intently, and Miyu was flattered by the stare she could feel emanate from her girlfriend.
“Aoi, don’t be jealous…” she murmured, breaking off from her strange kiss with Aqua. She turned to Aqua, pulled her in tighter and Aqua’s coil gave an extra embrace as well. She caressed Aoi’s cheek, tucking a curl of brunette hair behind her ear as well.
  “I’m not jealous…” Aoi murmured.
“I know, but I can kiss you as well, if you like.” Miyu purred. “So Aqua, if she so pleases.
She kissed Aoi and Aqua joined in as well. Miyu’s kiss was precise whereas Aqua’s tended to something clumsier. Though, given how small Miyu was in proximity to Aqua, it made sense that the lover of Aoi’s with the tinier tongue would be defter at using it upon her. Aoi didn’t mind. She liked how her heart fluttered and her body grew hot and wet with sweat as they both kissed her. With Miyu upon her lips with a gentle kiss which did not trespass further and with Aqua nuzzling against her, licking upon her cheeks and being as careful as she could.
Aqua revelled in the awkward sensory experience. Licking at Aoi, she could taste everything about her; her hormones and her joy over it. Aqua could even taste the soaps that she had used to clean herself; milk and honey and something floral-scented too, Aqua analysed idly somewhere in the back of her mind as she was more absorbed by the kiss than of the things that she could glean of it.
“This feels good right, Aoi?” Miyu asked.
  “V-Very…” Aoi panted.
“And you like it too, right, Aqua?” Miyu asked again.
“Yes, I like it a lot.” Aqua purred, her voice reverberating between both her human lovers.
“Good.” Miyu hummed and she smiled to herself, so smug and self-assured in her childlike way of being as such. “Because now,” she continued, “it’s my turn.”
Even in the post-midnight darkness of Aoi’s dimly lit bedroom, the shine in her eyes was more than apparent. She tapped her cheek; a wordless demand for attention. Aoi half-laughed; a stifled noise because she was more bemused than anything else regarding her girlfriend’s orders.
“Very well then.” Aqua replied. “I see no issue in it, my selfish darling girl.”
“Hey… don’t call me selfish. It’s totally my turn, I’m just pointing out the obvious.” Miyu whined.
A smile twitched upon Aoi’s lips as she leaned in closer to Miyu. She tangled her hands in Miyu’s thick tresses of shiny hair. She initiated a chaste kiss which left Miyu wanting more but Aoi pulled back, she glanced at Aqua. She paused and then understood that Aoi was giving her space so, she swooped in.
Her head butted between the girls and Aoi kissed the back of Aqua’s head, her hands clutching onto either side of the crest in the middle of it and admiring how silky-smooth Aqua was to the touch, whilst Aqua kissed Miyu. Aqua was a touch bolder than she had, perhaps, been before. Her tongue scissored open Miyu’s open and she kissed hard and deep. Her tongue inching towards the back of Miyu’s throat. Aqua’s many limbs fluttered as she kissed Miyu.
Fluid, not unlike human saliva, dripped from Aqua’s mouth as she kissed Miyu. Miyu didn’t mind getting wet; in all honesty, it turned her on as she kissed messily and sloppily into the Ignis’ mouth. Drool slid down her chin, even pooling in her lap. Aqua’s presence in the bed causing it to grow wetter seeming yet not quite; the doona and sheets and blankets never truly absorbing some sort of liquid, just acquiring an almost damp quality about them. Not to mention, they were still trapping and helping spread the warmth between them as they clung to one another, getting all hot and somewhat bothered in their kissing.
In this close proximity, Aqua realised just how similar humans smelt. Her sensory processing functions were not as fine-tuned as a human’s thanks to the technological limits that the Hanoi Project had sprung from in those six months of creation, but she was still quite keen. Here, as she kissed Miyu so passionately, she realised just how much Miyu had in common with Aoi – or maybe it was because they had spent so many hours swaddled up together in this bed. Regardless, Aqua noted the scents of flowery laundry liquid and the smells of sweet foods. It was a nice though, she liked it as she kissed Miyu.
And Miyu loved being kissed as she was. Her hands fumbled around Aqua’s waist, not unlike the axon of a neuron. She slipped past the gaps between Aqua’s limbs and found Aoi on the other side. Aoi lifted her head from where she rested against the back of Aqua. She struggled against Aqua’s complicated and trailing embrace; Aqua noticing and giving her reprieve from it.
Aoi slipped beneath it and she came closer to Miyu. Miyu pulled her into her lap once more, all whilst shoddily kissing Aqua who didn’t mind because she loved to accommodate her human partners more than anything.
“I want you to kiss me as well, Aoi. I’m selfish, remember.” Miyu mumbled; a pout to both her voice and expression.
“I know, but we love you for it.” Aoi replied.
She pecked Miyu’s cheek, nuzzling against Aqua’s in the process as Aqua’s mouth remained on Miyu’s. But Aqua gave her a glance, with her dazzling, glimmering pink eye which was not unlike a downward-curving crescent moon with how it was situated upon her face, and then allowed them to switch. Aoi was now the one kissing Miyu and Aqua was playing the complementary. Miyu loved it though. She loved having so much attention and affection being lavished upon her – it was even better since it was on her whim.
Miyu broke off the kiss with a lazy yawn. She attempted to initiate another kiss, but Aqua stroked the sides of her arms. She made a soothing noise.
“You seem tired, Miyu…” she murmured.
  “Only a little.” Miyu replied.
“I’m a little tired as well.” Aoi piped up. She reached out to Miyu and tugged on the sleeve of her pyjamas. “Maybe we should call it off from here. I’m tired.”
  “Fiiine.” Miyu whined.
Aqua released her embracive coil on the girls. Aoi breathed a sigh of relief. She liked having a bit more personal space as they all fell apart awkwardly from one another. Miyu groaned as she stretched herself out. Her groan soon fizzled out into another yawn.
“I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.” Aoi murmured.
  “I did.” Miyu replied.
“Good night, Aoi, good night, Miyu.” Aqua said and she retracted herself from Aoi’s bed.
Her tail pulled the rest of her body back, she drifted almost floatingly through the air and reverted back to her usual self with her bipedalism and large, rounded hips. She smiled her Ignis smile – mouthless yet grateful – and placed her hand on her flat breast. Her eyes simpered slightly yet were still quite bright in the darkness surrounding her, despite the Duel Disc’s feeble attempts of lighting up the room in shades of blue.
“Very well then, good night.” Aqua added again; her voice was sweet in the silence. She began to sink into the depths of the Duel Disc.
Miyu thrust out her hand, towards Aqua and all but shouted: “Wait!”
“Yes?” Aqua blinked and she raised herself to her full height again.
“Do you want to join us? We could all cuddle together…” Miyu murmured. She glanced at Aoi who nodded.
“It would be much warmer than just staying by yourself… or do Ignis not get cold?” Aoi offered; her words, gentle but slightly mumbled.
“Very well then.” Aqua replied and she curtseyed.
Miyu scrambled off of the bed. It moved and bent silently beneath her. Aoi fixed the sheets in her fumbled and messy wake. Miyu smiled as she picked up the Duel Disc and rescued Aqua from the frigidity of Aoi’s desk. She crawled back under the covers, moving her pillow closer to Aoi and they both laid themselves back to rest.
The girls’ legs intertwined whilst Miyu stuck her Duel Disc between them both. One hand rested on the Duel Disc and Aoi joined; their thin wrists crisscrossing over the hard armour of the device. Aqua blinked slowly; the light of her eyeball-like form something of a night-light but it was nice. Soothing, but not smothering as she got comfortable.
“Good night, Aoi, good night Aqua.” Miyu mumbled and she pecked the Duel Disc and then Aoi.
“Good night, Miyu,” Aoi murmured and she pecked Miyu back, “good night, Aqua,” and she gave a curt kiss to Aqua as well.
“Good night, my loves… my dear and precious partners…” Aqua sleepily nattered with a voice saturated with a cherished love.
Miyu’s heart skipped a beat and Aoi felt flushed. Aqua had never felt more serene and content than in this moment with her precious partners. They all nestled in together just that bit more, even though it was unnecessary. Still, it was warm and wonderful. A lovely sort of bliss so early in the morning and so late in the night as darkness settled once more; stars and street lights twinkling outside, just a little further in the distance and just beyond the gossamer sheen of Aoi’s curtains.

Aoi x Aqua x Miyu - Fate
request status: send combo breakers (ie non-Aoi ships) and I’ll answer them in the morning
Fate was Miyu’s favourite word. It meant that everything had meaning, destinies, importance. From the smallest word to the grand gesture. It was all designed by something larger than life itself, all encapsulating. She loved it. Even when it permitted her kidnapping and her falling comatose; she saw the point in it all. She liked the idea of a story, a narrative, that one day everything would fall into place and like a puzzle, the big picture revealed to her. It was a romantic hope.
Fate was Aoi’s least favourite word. She saw no point in being a prisoner to the whims and designs of something so cruel and callous. She couldn’t find sense in her suffering, her parents had been killed so pointlessly in an accident and that had rendered her and her brother homeless. To claim it all because of fate was awful. As t fate was the cold machinations of some uncaring force bigger than human comprehending.
Fate, finally, was what Aqua was the result of. Perhaps her existence was the perfect illustration of fate and all its sadism. Perhaps her existence was the perfect illustration of fate and all its wisdom. Regardless, she was the result of fate: for better or for worse. She was the meeting of two souls, dearly important to each other, so different and yet so similar. From the suffering, she had been birthed. From the joys, she had been birthed. She was the connected force; not unlike a red thread.
At the end of it all, Miyu was able to awake and thus, fate had come to its culmination. Connecting the two souls, once lost to each other, and then some. With Aqua in the middle of them, Miyu on one side, in a hospital gown and bed and Aoi on the other, with so much to tell her dear friend.
“Aoi?” Miyu asked, eyes widening in disbelief over the teenage girl before her; so familiar and yet so entirely different to her memory. Her demeanour was shy and yet, there was something edged to it, like her own heart had changed recently and she had grown stronger for it.
“Miyu.” Aoi cried. To her, Miyu hadn’t changed at all yet that was strangely bittersweet, to see her hair fall in waves down her back instead of tied up in her - their - symbol of courage, like in the memory that Aqua had shown her.
And the moment could hold no longer. Aoi got to her knees and she held onto Miyu’s hand. Aqua drew in close. Her presence soothing and Miyu watched as though she were watching a fairy.
“I’m so glad your safe.” Aoi gushed.
“I’m so glad your here, I have to apologise.” Miyu said. “I’m so sorry that I let my mother ruin our friendship like that. But, at the same time, if she hadn’t… I don’t know if I would have been strong enough by myself to have survived the- oh my goodness, you don’t know.”
“The Lost Incident?” Aqua piped up and Miyu regarded her cautiously. “No, Aoi is quite aware of the Lost Incident.”
“Who are you…? What are you…? How do you-?” Miyu murmured, concerned.
“I am called Aqua, I am the reason for your suffering.” Aqua confessed.
   “huh?” Miyu recoiled.
“Aqua, you-your existence was not on purpose. It’s not your fault that the Lost Incident happened.” Aoi argued, shedding tears. “Don’t say such cruel things.”
Aqua turned crestfallen. “But it’s true. If Miyu’s fate hadn’t been to have participated in that horrid experiment, her duelling would never have led to my creation. I am the Water Ignis, an AI with free will and I was born from your duelling and your courage, Miyu. Together, with Aoi, I resolved to save you from your past returning to haunt you. We have much to discuss.”
Miyu’s eyes watered. She looked terrified but Aoi held onto her hand so tightly, anchoring her to reality, to comfort.
“I won’t ever understand the torture you went through, Miyu, but please know, I will do whatever it takes to help you. Aqua too.” Aoi said.
“Thank you, Aoi… I love you.” Miyu replied.
“I love you too, Miyu.” Aoi replied.
“And, though you may not know me yet, I love you, as well, Miyu.” Aqua piped up.
Miyu smiled weakly. “I know somewhat who you are, Aqua. You’re that soothing presence from before. Ages ago, aren’t you? The one who nearly woke me from my coma.”
Aqua beamed. “Yes, that was me. I tried so hard to save you and you gave me the hint to help you.”
“To seek Aoi, right?” Miyu murmured as her gaze drifted to her friend whom she was so grateful for. But, her gaze returned to Aqua and she lifted her hand, so shaky, and petted the side of Aqua’s face. “I may not know you properly yet either, Aqua, but I know our meeting was fate. Cruel or otherwise. And, I know, I love you, already.”
“You’re so kind, Miyu.” Aqua murmured with tears in her own eyes, as well.

hii i'm hoping to coin Rainwatershipping for Aoi/Aqua/Miyu - Rain for Aoi and Miyu as they were taking shelter during the rain as children whilst they discussed Miyu being Aoi's first friend & of course the reference to water for Aqua. Proof of ship can be found here: https://merryfortune.tumblr.com/post/183350991360/sometimes-a-relationship-is-two-childhood-friends
Accepted. It’ll be added shortly to the list.

Love me - Aoi x Spectre x Miyu
Leave a “Love Me” in my ask, and I’ll write a fluffy drabble about two (or more) characters.
This ended up with a side helping of Crystalheartshipping on the side.
Also since the wordcount IS over 500 here’s my blanket permission for it to be used as ship proof should anyone ever decide to name this trio.
“Miyu-chan, why won’t you tell me where we’re going?” asked Aoi as Miyu all but dragged her down the road, their hands clasped together.
Ever since being discharged from the hospital Miyu had all but become an unstoppable force, once she decided she was doing something or going somewhere by god she was doing it and not even Aoi could change her mind.
“Because Aoi-chan, it’s a surprise,” she said in a sing-song voice. “Now come on.”
Aoi sighed and followed after her, at least since it was Miyu she knew she was sure to enjoy wherever they were going.
Aoi was so very wrong.
“Miyu-chan…are you sure this is the right place?”
“Yeah, of course, why?”
Aoi gulped. Miyu had dragged her down to the beach side, even though neither of them were dressed for the beach, and off towards the boardwalk. And it seemed that someone else had the same plan, as there was another person already waiting there, arms resting on the railing and gazing out towards the sea. A someone that was very uncomfortably familiar to Aoi.
“Specter!” Miyu called out and the teen turned to face them, straightening up and away from the rails he’d been resting his forearms on.
“Ah, Sugisaki-san nice to see you again.”
Miyu rolled her eyes, “I’ve told you before just to call me Miyu, Spe-chan.”
He grimaced as his cheeks dusted a light rose and Aoi looked between the two of them in confusion.
“How do the two of you know each other?? And why are you here?” she asked, pointing at Specter.
“Because I invited him silly,” said Miyu. “We met while I was in the hospital. He and Kogami-san came by, said I deserved answers about what I went through three years ago. Specter and I have been meeting up since then because of these two,” she gestured to the duel disks on their wrists. “Seems they’re something of an item. So we meet up so they can hang out. I guess we’re like chaperones in a way if you think about it.”
“So, how come you brought me along?” asked Aoi. “You know how I feel about him.”
Miyu sighed and ran a hand through her hair. “Well, I like the both of you and I like spending time with you, and I really want to be able to spend time with the both of you, at the same time,” she said. “So I guess,  just want you to try and work out your issues. I’m not saying you have to like each other, but maybe, at least tolerate each other?”
Aoi looked from Miyu to Specter, who for once didn’t seem to be sporting a haughty and arrogant look but actually seemed somewhat humbled.
Despite having been allies IN Link VRAINS and having to deal with him there, Aoi had made sure to limit her contact with him in the real world, which was fairly easy as it meant simply not going anywhere near him or talking to him. But now, if he was friends with Miyu, that was going to be quite tricky.
“Zaizen-san, if I may,” began Specter, clearing his throat with a slight cough, speaking before Aoi could say anything. “I…am sorry.”
Aoi blinked in surprise as she looked at him. He was sorry? That was unexpected to be sure. Sorry was not something she thought he could ever be, especially with how he acted.
“I know that’s not going to make up for what I did to you. I’m not sure anything could really, I suppose a rematch, or letting you hit me could.” He caught himself beginning to tangent and coughed awkwardly. “And, I don’t expect you to forgive me either, I know I don’t deserve that. But I wish to apologize nonetheless.”
Aoi was quiet. What could she even say to that? He was right, she couldn’t forgive him, not now anyways. And we he even being genuine? He was a hard read so for all she knew he was blowing a lot of hot air, it wouldn’t be the first time he’d lied to her face.
“He is telling the truth you know,” said Aqua, now seated on the screen of Miyu’s duel disk. “He really does want to make up with you.”
“Well, you do owe me a rematch at least,” said Aoi after a minute. “And this time I will beat you, right into the dirt.”
Specter chuckled lightly, “Then I await this rematch. In the meantime,” he indicated to his duel disk. “I think we have a date to chaperone. I do promise to be on my best behaviour.”
As if on cue, Earth peered timidly out of the duel disk to look around.
“Is that a bow tie?” squealed Miyu and Earth blushed a little bit.
Sure enough, affixed to the area where a neck would be on the earth ignis, was a very tiny black bow tie.
“It…is,” said Earth after a moment. “Specter made it for me. He said it would make me, dashing.”
“Well, I think it looks very nice. Very charming.” said Aqua with a nod, causing Earth to blush even more.
Aoi sighed, if Specter could play nice she supposed she could deal with him for the day. After that, well, it all depended on him. After all, if he was truthful about his apology maybe there was hope for him yet.
Maybe.

64 for Aoi x Miyu please o.o
64. “I was trying to protect you.”
I’m sorry this took so long!! >.
“Why?”
Breaking a long silence, Aoi spoke in a wavering voice as she sat beside Miyu’s hospital bed. Gritting her teeth, she looked down at her lap, where her hands lay balled up as she tried to keep any tears from flowing.
“Why, what?” Miyu asked back, frowning in confusion. She’d almost made a full recovery from her coma, but the doctors wanted to make sure that she was fine, given recent events.
Aoi shook, raising her head slightly to look more at Miyu. “Why did you never come and find me?” She wasn’t quite done, though. “Aqua said you made it through the lost incident because you wanted to meet me again. Why didn’t you tell me about the lost incident?”
Miyu’s eyes widened, and she turned her head away, unwilling to look at Aoi as she gave her quiet answer.
“I was trying to protect you.” She heard Aoi’s breath hitch, but didn’t turn to look at her. “I wanted to meet you, I truly did, but a year or two after the incident I realised that it wouldn’t be a good idea. You would want to help me. To find out who did it. I just wanted to move on.”
She gripped the bedsheets. “I can see now that it wouldn’t have mattered either way.”
She heard Aoi stand up, and rolled her head back to face her.
Aoi was standing, eyes closed and mouth turned in a scowl. Her hands were clenched into fists at her sides, and she trembled as she took a deep breath.
“Sorry, Miyu. I need to go. I’ll be back tomorrow, okay?” Saying such, Aoi turned and walked towards the door, muttering beneath her breath.
She wasn’t so quiet that Miyu couldn’t hear her, though Miyu wasn’t sure she was aware of the fact.
“Why does everyone have to insist on protecting me? I’m not some kind of porcelain doll.”
Miyu reached out a hand towards the other girl, as Aoi opened the door and stepped through it.
“Aoi-”
The door closed, leaving her in silence, alone in the room.
She stared at the door for a minute, then withdrew her arm, bringing both of her arms to her chest.
“Because I love you.”

Aside from Datastormshipping and Firestormshipping, what other ships do you like? :)
For Vrains, in addition to Datastormshipping and Firestormshipping, I also really like the following:
Crystalheartshipping because Earth’s crush on Aqua is just adorable.
Disastershipping because duh. Those three would destroy lives together.
Takeru x Ryoken (which I’m calling Infernoshipping until otherwise named). This dynamic is just asking to be expanded upon.
Entrustshipping - Again adorable and I wish Kiku wasn’t a side character.
Wildfireshipping, Takeru x Miyu, and Spectre x Windy’s Origin - You can blame Nemesis for me liking the idea behind these three.
Zinniashipping - Yeah not one you guys would probably expect coming from me. Just because I down right hate how this relationship is being handled in the anime, doesn’t mean I don’t think it has potential. Again you can blame Nemesis for me growing to like Aoi x Miyu when it is done right, Vrains.
As for everything else, I’m kinda just meh on them. There’s nothing in Vrains shipping wise that I hate. Pretty sure I can grow to like any ship given the right content. I mean look at Datastormshipping for example. I don’t care to much for protagonist x rival ships in Yu-Gi-Oh, so Yusaku x Revolver at the time was just meh for me, but you all know how badly that turned around, in the fandom in general, when Ryoken was revealed to be Yusaku’s Special Person. The fanfiction for that just exploded out of nowhere 0-0

Top Ten Favourite Female Seiyuu
My first one didn’t do a whole lot of justice, so I decided to have another go at it! Here we go! Time to edit this up!
I notice that I didn’t include as many female seiyuu in my honourable mentions, but that’s because I had an easier time choosing here! I kind of knew what voices I liked from the beginning. I also don’t like the really high pitched annoying characters sometimes (with exceptions), so that was taken into consideration.
Some honourable mentions that I didn’t get the chance to mention were: Yuu Kobayashi, Ami Koshimizu, Chiwa Saito, Marina Inoue, Mai Nakahara, and Mamiko Noto. I love their voices and their roles, but I haven’t watched a whole lot of them either in anime or singing. I also seem to remember seiyuu more from their characters, and it’s a real shame that there aren’t as many female anime characters that are as well developed as their male counterparts which is why I don’t remember their characters as often. But most of it is just because I haven’t watched their major work yet.
Honourable Mentions:
Sakura Ayane
Tumblr media
I just wanted to give a shout out to her because her performance of Uraraka is amazing, and she really nails her positive personality. She plays a range of other characters (sadly I haven’t watched most of them). I’ve been impressed by her other characters as well. Niwatori in Juuni Taisen has such an innocent personality at first, and even though it wasn’t a very good anime, she gave this character a lot of life despite being a character with only one episode of development. Haru in Nisekoi was the annoying little sister nobody wanted, but I’m proud of the fact that she makes me hate some characters that she plays because I think that’s the point most of the time. Suzuka from Tokyo Ravens is another example of this. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t have range though. Her role as Ryouko in Tsurezure Children surprised me. Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yh6QDBvTn34 Singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpV6YFq6SrU Bonus: https://youtu.be/DRUzKPD68W0
Aoi Yuuki
Tumblr media
Range. Just range. I can’t tell it’s her ever. Just never. I originally knew her for voicing Tsuyu from My Hero Academia, but after searching her up, I realized her range. Even though I didn’t watch most of the anime she has done, just clips of it can give you the biggest shock of a lifetime. I didn’t realize she was Kayo from Erased, Madoka from Madoka Magica, Tatsumaki from One Punch Man, Diane from The Seven Deadly Sins, and Lulu in League of Legends. She apparently also games. Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7pnmeV3MD0 Singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1C4bmNIWyA
Aya Hirano
Tumblr media
(I couldn’t find a gif of her, but have a Haruhi)
Okay, so maybe she has fallen off the grid for a bit, but the reason for some people now hating her is really stupid. I won’t get into it, but people are allowed to have lives outside of their work. Who would’ve known? Besides that, she is a talented singer who I know for voicing Lucy from Fairy Tail and Haruhi from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. She is also known for her role as Konata in Lucky Star and Misa in Death Note. Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcDIA_VDyXA Singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWB01IuMvzA (wow this song is catchy)
NOW FOR THE LIST!
10. Maaya Uchida
Tumblr media
This is slightly bias because she did just such a good job playing Hiyori. I love her voice and can’t imagine anyone else playing one of my favourite characters. With that being said, I think the best role I’ve seen from her, but she has done a ton of other roles too. Takanashi Rikka from  Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! is another role that stands out to me. She truly makes me want to believe alongside her with her “eighth-grade syndrome”. Alluka from Hunter x Hunter is a role I didn’t expect, but I thought for the few clips I watched it was amazing and bone-chilling. I haven’t watched Rea from Sankarea, Yusa from Charlotte, and a bunch of other roles. Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkGPh-BIoHo Singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYSz35K8LaM
9. Mizuki Nana
Tumblr media
Wow. I have a hard time recognizing her too, but maybe that’s because of her incredible range. On top of being a singer, she’s a tremendously talented voice actor. I know her as the soft-toned Hinata, but she has so many other roles. I haven’t watched a lot of her more prominent roles, but I have watched her as Hakuei Ren in Magi, Lan Fan in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Kisaki in WWW.Working! She has several other roles that I haven’t watched. The reason she has been placed this high on this list is that of the range I’ve seen in her performance and that craziness of her voice. Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZpcbDTZhbw Singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBO64zFAF1Q
8. Romi Park
Tumblr media
(I couldn’t find a gif)
Yes. Her range is amazing. Edward Elric was given a voice by her. She is relatable, and she’s bilingual (and possibly trilingual) too! She speaks Korean and she has studied English! I haven’t watched a lot of shows with her in it (or at least completely), but here are a few roles that you might know her from. Ganta from Deadman Wonderland, Toshirou from Bleach, Temari from Naruto, Akane from Danganronpa, Switzerland from Hetalia, Angelina from Black Butler, Hange from Attack on Titan, and so many other roles! She’s really good at singing too! She’s so talented! Side note: She often represents Arakawa Hiromu (the mangaka of Fullmetal Alchemist), and I didn’t notice until now. Wow. Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgmvx1yfr4Q Singing: (in English apparently) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgmvx1yfr4Q (Japanese) https://youtu.be/cWbMom6MDCE
7. Tomatsu Haruka
Tumblr media
Weirdly, sometimes I have a hard time recognizing her voice. She has voiced such a large range of characters. She was one of the characters who gave me feels in Anohana where she played Anaru. I had so much fun watching a clip of Gintama’s genderbend where she played a female Gintoki. She was an independent protagonist in a shoujo as Shizuku in Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun and the Miyakoshi horrible cook who kills in WWW.Working. Other people might know her as Asuna from SAO, Megumi from Accel World, Shiro from Tokyo Ghoul, Ichika from Waiting in Summer, Rena in ReLife, Megumi from Shiki, and now you might know her as Zero Two in Darling in Franxx. But my favourite role from her is definitely Morgiana from Magi. She was such a badass, and I loved every minute with her on screen. She has so many other roles, and she sings really well too. Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQOmY_gFQrE Singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwEofctFN3E
6. Kana Hanazawa
Tumblr media
She has done so many characters and is really popular. I love a lot of her roles, but this list is full of only the best of the best, so number 6 isn’t that bad! I love a good number of the characters she does too. She made me absolutely despise her in Akame Ga Kill as Seryuu. She was great as Shiemi from Blue Exorcist and broke my heart a little as Kanade from Angel Beats. I loved her little side roles as Lucy from Bungou Stray Dogs and as Kougyoku Ren from Magi. Sonohara from Durarara, Natsume from Tokyo Ravens, Chiaki from Danganronpa, and Onodera from Nisekoi are just a few other roles I’ve watched from her. I hope to watch Psychopass, the Monogatari series, Orange, Sakurada Reset, and Steins;Gate. Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDC6SpI3xA0 Singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-caezFDfTs
5. Sora Amamiya
Tumblr media
She voices so many cool characters! Her portrayal of Akame was awesome. I was in it since then. But like all these other actors: range. I mean, Aqua from Konosuba is a character I despise, but she plays her brilliantly and makes me hate her so much. Other characters I’ve watched her play are Elise from Bungou Stray Dogs, Natsuki in Anthem of the Heart, Elizabeth in The Seven Deadly Sins, Touka in Tokyo Ghoul, and Shiho in WWW.Working. She has a lot of other roles too! Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaQsOj9RUOY Singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9IN61D92OY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rb85LQHEdqU Bonus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQR5UM9VeyE
4. Saori Hayami
Tumblr media
She’s so cool. I’ve seen her play Chiriko from Anohana, Himawari from Boruto, Sharyuu from Juuni Taisen, and Emi from Your Lie In April. One of her most outstanding role for me was Shirayuki. I wouldn’t have it any other way because she gives her such a feeling of elegance, humility, and innocence. But one of the best roles I’ve seen from her is as Shouko from A Silent Voice. That movie shocked me and left me absolutely stunned. Her portrayal was timeless, moving, and amazing. I was hit in the feels, and her performance along with Miyu Irino will probably stay with me forever. She sings some good OPs, but she can also scream at the top of her lungs and play some insane characters. Just look at Kakegurui. I have only seen a couple of scenes from that anime, but there are so many other roles that I want to see from her! Serebryakova, Viktoriya Ivanovna from Youjo Senki, Urara from Yamada, Yukino from SNAFU, Yutsugi from the Monogatari series, Minami from Tokyo Ghoul (Jack), Shinoa from Owari no Seraph, Saki from Higashi no Eden, and several other roles! Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhBvZWG8oRQ Singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_9PWDkqbcs
3. Rie Kugimiya
Tumblr media
Okay wow. She’s amazing. Alphonse Elric has such a childish and innocent personality that was aided by her voice. She gave Taiga the perfect tsundere voice. She gives Kagura life and energy with her high-pitched voice. Those are my top three roles from her. Nobody else would ever be able to top those. Nora from Noragami is a character that I love to hate. I really want to watch her as Shana in Shakugan no Shana and as Juuzo from Tokyo Ghoul, and even though she doesn’t have as many roles that I want to catch up on, she plays three anime characters that I love. Her voice is the only one I hear when I see those three characters, and I would love to see her in other works as well. Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL6wgRNtkcc Singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayJdEzhqQ0I
2. Maaya Sakamoto
Tumblr media
Holy moly her singing voice is really good. Her relationship with Kenichi Suzumura is so sweet, and I wouldn’t have found out about him if it wasn’t for her. She can play little girls, boys, and wonderfully beautiful well-developed androgynous characters. Her role in Kara no Kyoukai as Shiki sends chills down my spine. It almost distracted from the fact that I had no clue about the timeline. She portrayed the craziest Crona in Soul Eater was absolutely insane. Scherezade from Magi was another role I’ve seen from her. Nino from Arakawa Under the Bridge was so quirky and wonderful, and I loved her weirdness. Haruhi was another role from her that I absolutely loved. She was calm, talented, and played a nice protagonist that I liked compared to the rest of the main cast. But I have so much catching up to do on her other roles because she has so many! Motoko from Ghost in a Shell, Falangies from Arslan Senki, Shinobu in the Monogatari series, Ciel in Black Butler, Merlin in the Seven Deadly Sins, and Eto and Sen from Tokyo Ghoul. She is such a badass because she plays a lot of cool characters. Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coN0PuJrp_o Singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j74CRP-QCA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SL_Hd4ItPw
1. Miyuki Sawashiro
Tumblr media
She is honestly such a nice person. I watched a segment with her and her brother. She sounds like an awesome older sister. She plays so many badass women. Bishamon is honestly such a caring badass goddess who takes in people because she wants to care for them. She is a respectable goddess who is one of my favourite Noragami characters. Celty is a mysterious biker who is also a badass. Even though she barely speaks literally in Durarara, Miyuki reads her texts perfectly. The quest to find what she has been missing is one of my favourite sides of the story. Seo from Gekkan Shoujo is an inspiration who I love to this day. She’s one of my favourite characters, and I always rewatch her scenes. I have also seen her as Kusaribe in Zetsuen no Tempest (which I didn’t really like), Isasawa in Angel Beats, Touko in Danganronpa, Ul and Ultear in Fairy Tail, and Ayane in Kimi ni Todoke. I want to watch a lot more anime with her in the future including Shion in Psychopass, Sugura in the Monogatari series, Toto Sakigami in Deadman Wonderland, Seri in K, Shane in Charlotte, Kira in Btooom, Leona in Yamada, Himeko in Kokoro Connect, Kana in Kiseijuu, and Kurapika from Hunter x Hunter. I love her voice and her singing. She apparently knows how to play the piano too. I can’t even express in words how much respect I have for her. Roles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAcgJyuO5rM Singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AM5OaDR-5U Bonus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBhlM0UpHLU
I think this concludes the list. I had such a hard time coming up with the order. I love my female seiyuu picks, and if you know anyone that I missed that I should’ve mentioned, just tell me! There aren’t that many female seiyuu Tumblr accounts though, so if you know any, send those to me too!
Shout out to @akaskira for this idea!

Day 5 / Ritual

“Hm,” Miyu murmured, “so this is how Ai-chan sees you?”
Her voice was musing as she continued to look over the card that Aqua had procured for her to admire. Or analyse. Likely only admire as Miyu didn’t have much interest in the game, anymore. Not totally surprising to Aqua given the baggage that it had caused her, but it was slightly disappointing. She had wanted to be battle partners with her Origin after all but at least she had Aoi to sate that side of her.
Still, Aqua was embarrassed by how playful Miyu sounded. “It’s not very flattering, is it?” she said, squirming where she stood.
“Ayup. It’s a huge-ass scary monster.” Miyu chirruped.
Aqua hid her face in her hands.
Aoi pouted. “Miyu.” she scolded her girlfriend.
“Aw, Aqua, I didn’t mean it like that. I just so happen to think that huge-ass scary monsters are kind of cool.”
Again, that did little to quell Aqua’s anxiety over being perceived as such. It also didn’t help that she very much did not approve of Miyu’s vulgar language.
The card in question was Ai’s Ritual Monster, his Water Levithan. He had loaned it to Aqua because she had mentioned in passing that her girls were curious about it. Well, Miyu was curious about. Aoi had seen it in action, full throttled, when she and her brother had duelled Ai in the Link VRAINS. But, when it was just a card, it wasn’t so scary, and she couldn’t blame Miyu for being curious about it. Whilst Miyu was, currently, on the sidelines, she was inching closer to returning to the game as her confidence was very much bolstered by having Aoi and Aqua around.
Since Miyu was being unproductive, and densely so, Aoi thought that she would attempt at cheering Aqua up.
“Leviathans are very powerful monsters from biblical mythology. They rule the seas and often represent a form of order or triumph. I think there’s a beauty in that.” Aoi said, piping up.
But Aoi’s words didn’t exactly work either. Whilst she meant them to ring kind, and she had embellished them to exemplify her intentions, they did not. If anything, it made Aqua feel worse because, curious to verify Aoi’s word, in an instant, Aqua discovered all sorts of hellish things across the various, biblical mythologies.
“I think Hiyari is a better reflection of your relationship with Ai. Despite everything, you’re still friends and that’s the main thing, I think.” Aoi said.
“I don’t think Hiyari is that much of an improvement...” Aqua mumbled. She had been standing before, ankles deep in Miyu’s Duel Disc, but now she had finally sunk down so she could keel inwards on herself in her self-inflicted despair.
“Hiyari...” Miyu murmured aloud, eyes wandering to the sky. “Which one is Hiyari again?”
“The blue one.” Aqua said stupidly. “Her name is an onomatopoeia referencing the word ‘chilly’. Does Ai perceive me as cold?”
“The cute blue one.” Aoi piped up, once more.
“But nowhere near as cute as you, I’m sure.” Miyu added, setting her hand, the card, down on the plasticky surface of the table.
Both girls reached across the table and went to pet Aqua’s diminutive little head at once. Miyu giggled as she bumped Aoi’s fingers with her own. She stroked Aqua’s floating antennae whilst Aoi gently prodded along the curve of Aqua’s spine. She reacted positively to that, shoulders rolling out and her eyes were no longer squished with misery. She cooed, slightly, at that.
“I don’t think you should concern yourself too much with others and their perceptions,” Aoi said with the wisdom of someone who knew all too well what such horrible pitfalls are, “and content yourself with your own perceptions.”
“You’re cute, and kind, and caring.” Miyu said, almost immediately ruining Aoi’s advice. “You’re our one of a kind little Aqua and we both love you very much for it, I’m sure Ai does too. Just not the same way and that’s okay.”
“Thank you, girls, both of you.” Aqua said, holding her own hands as she allowed herself to be fondly preened by both her partners.
Hearing the genuine appreciation for their assurance in her voice, warmed Aoi and Miyu’s hearts.

Aoi x Aqua x Miyu - Wish
requests: paused/closed (2/4)
an: i’ve written a similar fic before but until we get proper canon miyu content i’m not allowed to be judged for it
Miyu blinked. She felt heavy. Extremely so, as though her arms and legs were made of lead but, still, she persevered. Her head felt fuzzy. Her memories were mostly awash in darkness but as she stared up at the ceiling, she realised she was in a hospital. That’s why it smelt so sterile too.
She turned her head and gasped. She struggled beneath her tightly wrapped sheets; she almost felt entombed. As she struggled, the girl lifted her head tiredly. She gasped.
   “Miyu-chan.” she exclaimed.
   “Aoi-chan.” Miyu replied, eyes watering.
   “Y-You remember me.” Aoi mumbled.
“Of course, I remember you.” Miyu replied. “Oh my goodness, Aoi, I’m so sorry. I’m so, so, sorry that - that.”
   “Miyu-chan, it’s okay.” Aoi replied.
“No, it’s not okay. Oh man, I feel.. woozy. But whatever. Aoi. I need to apologise to you. I’m so, so, so sorry that the last time we saw each other was on such... such a... I’ve imagined this moment for years yet, I’m at a loss for words.”
Aoi reached across to Miyu. “I already know.” she smiled, sympathetic. “I have something - someone - for you.”
   “Huh?” Miyu blinked.
Aoi returned her hands to her lap and with much emotional difficulty, she removed her Duel Disc. She gave it to Miyu. It felt clumsy in her hands and there was an almost violent look of disgust in her eyes. Miyu glanced at Aoi but she shook her head.
   “Aqua?” she prompted.
Miyu returned her gaze to the Duel Disc. Its screen changed. There was a blue and pink eyeball on it and it opened. Its eyelash fluttered across the screen and then from the cross-sectioned pupil, a figure rose up and out of it. She was small, humanoid, with pigtails and wide hips. She was cute, immensely so. And familiar.
“Aqua...” Miyu mumbled. “Aqua! I remember you! You... I had a dream about you...”
Aqua’s eyes watered. “I’m glad you remember me, Miyu-chan.”
“What are you?” Miyu asked and she glanced to Aoi. “How do you two know each other?”
“I am an Ignis: an AI with free will. I was born from your - from your...” Aqua’s voice was a gentle murmur, not unlike a placid brook.
“From the Lost Incident...” Miyu said, finishing Aqua’s sentence.
   Aqua nodded.
Miyu glanced to Aoi. “Do - Do you know about the Lost Incident?”
“I do. i’m so sorry, Miyu-chan. You didn’t deserve that. N-Nor did Yusaku-kun or Takeru-kun or Jin-kun or, um, even Spectre...” Aoi mumbled.
“Who... Who are they?” Miyu asked, eyes widening.
“My friends.” Aoi replied. “Through... strange circumstances, I became more entangled into the Lost Incident than you may think. There are other Ignises who were born from the suffer-”
“Aqua wasn’t born from my suffering!” Miyu interjected loudly and her raised voice caused her to pale.
Her hospital room fell uncomfortably silent. Even the monitor seemed to quieten down. Miyu propped herself up and she moved her pillow. She stared at Aqua who was in her lap who stared back.
“Aqua was born from my hopes and wishes. I wanted to see you again, so desperately Aoi, you don’t understand. You kept me alive through - through that period of torture. And I don’t know anything about those people or those other Ignises but I know Aqua,” Miyu said and she petted the top of Aqua’s head with one hand and she offered her other hand to Aoi who clasped onto it gently, loving, “and I know Aqua, my kind and sweet and gentle Aqua, was not born from my suffering. She was born from my love, Aoi. My love for you...”
“Miyu-chan...” Aoi mumbled. “I love you as well. Even after all these years, even when... when I almost forgot you. I love you.”
“Thank you, Aoi.” Miyu replied and she smiled. “I love you too, Aqua.”
“I love you as well, Miyu-chan. And you two, Aoi-chan. You are my precious humans.”
“I love you too, Aqua.” Aoi said. And, for the first time, possibly ever, Aoi smiled a pure and unguarded smile, even if it was tearstained.

how does Aoi and Miyu with "Precure" or just "magical girls" sound? (maybe plus Aqua as "mascot fairy")
requests: open
Aoi’s heart swelled as one hand supported Aqua and her other hand interlocked with Miyu’s. Miyu grinned and once her fingers tightly locked onto Aoi’s, it was like they were in a world of their own. Their eyes flicking between one another as they gave a voice to the shining power in their hearts.
“Shine on!” Aoi and Miyu cried. “The power of love and friendship!
“Through your contacts with me, I bestow upon you girls, the elixir of life: Blue Water!” Aqua shouted.
The markings on her body began to shine and that feeling, the feeling that these three souls intertwined were the only souls in the world, intensified. A bright, blue light, once soft, turned fierce. Difficult to look upon from the outside world, but calming and easy within it. It enveloped the girls and their little fairy companion, lifted from their hands, permitting them at last to interlock, to hold on tightly to each other and share in the powers that they possessed through their emotions, through their bond.
Aqua floated around and water surged in her wake. The water curled and coiled around the girls and they were taken from their school uniforms and they became undone. Holding onto each other as their powers gave them their soft, cloth armours and gave them a new identity in one another.
Aoi became Blue Maiden and Miyu became Raindrop.
Markings appeared on their own body to mimic that of the fairy’s who but their clothes themselves were different. Aoi’s short brunette bob turned to a trailing waterfall of aquamarine hair and Miyu’s long hair, an auburn-pink to navy blue and done up in pigtails as compared to Aoi’s half-pony.
Their eyes shone: become the same hue of blue, not unlike the skies and waters they were drawing from. All possessing of that elixir of life that Aqua promised them.
Their hands slipped from another as they were twirled and danced through the water. All of it mastered by Aqua who was ensuring that her girls, her precious magical girls, would be safe as they tried to save the day yet again.
The power was difficult to maintain, they were only human after all. It energised them, gave them courage, and gave them strengths beyond their wildest dreams. And when it was done, they found themselves once again holding hands and with a smile across their face, they would stare down all evil which threatened Den City, their hometown.
“We are Blue Maiden and Raindrop, with our bonds, we will save the day!” they declared, hearts racing.
“We will douse you, water and you shall repent for your crimes!” Aqua chimed in.
