Imagine Mike is telling Will he doesn’t know how to dance and Will is just like ‘oh my mom taught me,I could teach you…’ and they just start dancing in the basement

Mike is getting everything wrong but Will doesn’t mind,he is patiently telling him what to do and Mike rest his hands on Wills waist

they both dance together for a little while before just looking into each others eyes and both going as red as a tomato

suddenly Karen opens the basement door and shouts down that it’s time for Will to go home (he stayed later than Dustin and Lucas)

they both jolt back from each other before both walking up the stairs and as Will leaves Mike utters a weak goodbye and Will offers him a smile,which absolutely breaks Mike

Mike spends the rest of night lay awake in his bed thinking ‘OMG MY HANDS WERE ON HIS WAIST I REPEAT ON HIS MF WAIST’’God Wills cute,I wanna kiss hi-EL I WANT TO KISS EL YEAH EL NOT WILL’’ I liked dancing with him’

his mind floods with thoughts he can’t control and decides to go through his favourite book,the binder filled with all of Wills art….

(this could be set in s5 but I just think miwi is adorable and imagine Mike and will practicing for the snowball together and that’s why Mike looks upset when will dances with that girl,he was like ‘hey your meant to dance with me😔’)

whenever they wanted something and knew that karen would say no, they'd always have will be the one to go up to her with his big ole kawaii anime doe eyes n sweet wittle face and ask, because even though it didn't always work & karen definitely knew what they were up to lol, they still thought they were being sneaky masterminds and it did get them a few extended play dates and extra desserts, etc, so technically... they Are sneaky masterminds tbh

conversely, whenever something happened or she heard a crash somewhere, karen always singled out will to tell her the truth, because even if he did try to lie to her and cover the party's butts sometimes, his little side-to-side sway n hand clasping tells immediately tip her off every time & she'd always turn to mike after, narrow her eyes, and go "Michael." in the most mom the-jig-is-up-so-you-better-tell-me-what-happened-right-now voice you've ever heard in ur Life

you're 100% right about Will taking the blame :/ i was very much going for some Uther vibes with the king, and as a fellow Merlin fan, then you definitely know how his line of thinking usually goes 🙃 that man could have all the evidence in the world that something was one way and still believe it's another issue just because he's That Guy. gahhhh i hate Uther so much

but ahhhh i'm glad you liked the opening line 🥺 i am sticking this in my box of compliments so i can pull it out and look at it whenever i'm feeling down on myself heheheheh

i am also sad this part is over!! i really enjoyed writing them as kids, and i'm glad you enjoyed getting to read it!! i do think it's really hard to write them that young sometimes (especially because i'm finding it harder and harder to remember how young twelve year-olds are supposed to act lol), but i'm glad my attempts seemed to have mostly turned out successful? this was definitely my favorite part of the whole fic, which is part of the reason why i ended up posting all of it so quickly. i loved it so much, and it's been sitting finished in the doc since mid-november, and i was finally anxious to have it out in the open already :D

ooooo i don't want to give anything away for part 4, so you will just have to see heheheheh. i do hope you'll enjoy it though!!
