kaiiii do you have any miw recs for someone who's largely an mcr/paramore/fob/ptv girlie (gn)

oh blue u are SO in luck bc when i got into miw years ago i was also primarily a ptv and paramore girlie <3 i got a lot of recs so bear with me

so if u enjoy the storytelling of mcr songs, miw has those! there's actually quite a few songs that tell stories with one another: the puppets trilogy ("puppets (the first snow)", "puppets 2 (the rain)", "puppets 3 (the grand finale)"), the dead as fuck duology ("dead as fuck", "not my type: dead as fuck 2"), the undead ahead duology ("undead ahead", "undead ahead 2: the tale of the midnight ride"), amongst a few others as well! "eternally yours" and "another life" are also two parts of a story as well

on that note, there are also plenty of miw songs that are standalones that tell a story as well and are typically based on pop culture, especially in miw's earlier stuff: "london in terror" is based on jack the ripper, "we only come out at night" is based on the movie the lost boys (1987), "dark passenger" is based on that one show dexter, "werewolf" is inspired by michael jackson's "thriller"... miw loooooves storytelling

if you're looking for something more like paramore or fob in terms of vibe, you could try out songs like "masterpiece", "unstoppable", "catharsis", and "city lights" (which all give me the vibe of paramore and/or fob songs)

ptv is another one of my faves, so if you're looking for something more that sort of vibe, "carry the torch", "holding on to smoke", "cause of death", "cobwebs", and "hourglass" all give that vibe i think!

if you're looking for something heavy, miw has a few! some of their most iconic heavy songs are "slaughterhouse", "thoughts & prayers", "soft", and "immaculate misconception" (but there's always more because this is a metal band we're talking about lmao)

they've also done a few cover songs as well! "dragula" by rob zombie, "somebody told me" by the killers, "du hast" by rammstein, and "my friend of misery" by metallica (this ones not on spotify but it is on youtube) <3 they also made rhea ripley's wwe theme song, "demon in your dreams" which ALSO goes hard

and then some other miscellaneous song recs that dont quite fit in these other categories i made: "reincarnate" (my favorite song of all time from miw and also just in general), "headache" (another one of my top miw songs of all time), voices (written about the lgbtq+ community and when i saw it live i almost cried), "cyberhex" (makes me cry bc its about how much miw loves their fans), "creatures x: to the grave" (makes me cry for the same reason cyberhex does), and "570" (ALSO makes me cry bc its about how much miw has grown)

I can’t believe I’ve only watched 3 will be free now. Somebody should’ve forced me to watch this long ago! I love the way they’ve approached this polyamorous relationship specially with Shin and Miw’s friendship. Their dynamics is so fun to watch. In the beginning when Neo and Shin were arguing all the time, Shin was the middle ground between them. The backstory of ShinNeo’s meeting reminded me of another painter-aka First in Not Me. While going through all the shit the trio truly became a found family- even named the resort “three hearts” aww. Mae was the one who suffered the most and i was so sad when Ter died😭 Her journey was the most most moving thing in this show truly. Seeing Toptap onscreen after sooooo long was very surprising. PP was really cute, always hitting on Shin lol

The outfits were a scene stealer throughout the show. I think this is the best queer representation I’ve seen in a show. This is an immediate favourite and I love the trio so much. I love how they simply accept the fact that a person can love two people equally at the same time. This show is iconic. Also I’m looking forward to Joss in Golden Blood even more now. I think im gonna have a brainrot about this show for a while. Now I get it why this is called Jojo’s best work

3 Will Be Free Rewatch - Epsiode 1

while I adored 3 Will Be Free when it came out, I believe I didn't pay proper attention to it (besides hardly anyone watching it on here) and now that I am also more familiar with jojo, I am looking forward to this rewatch

GMMTV really holds the title for great bar names (only beaten by TheLastGoodBar) Greatest MotherF*cker

I wonder how deliberate Joss' casting was since he not only was still young when this was filmed but he also feels very young. On one side GMMTV hasn't casted main characters over 30 for most of their series (which is now changing since so many of their ogs are around 30 now). I suppose he was mainly casted because of his physique fitting most closely to the other gogo boys but I cannot deny that I enjoy the extra layer of him looking visibly younger than the other two and his customers. They do mention that he is new to the job, so it could very well be that they are leaning into it.

- the card coming up with the '3 months later' and the three gun shots is a thing i can very much live with -

While I knew that the central set-up focuses on why Miw and Neo need money I forgot how central it is to most of the dialogue in the first episode. Not only the need for money in general but if and to what degree it is separated from happiness. Shin's dad wants affection as well and seems to try to include his new wife on an emotional level into the family beyond just wanting her status acknowledged. At the same, time, as soon as she crosses him he speaks of her like property.

With Miw it is interesting because we are shown that her mother needs more money. Still, she draws a hard line between hosting and prostitution which holds exactly as long as it needs for Shin and his friends to turn up. She does mention however that she cannot do it with random customers because she's not attracted to them. First sign that Shin might not just be a job for the money.

Equally curious whether Neo actually entertains Vanika honestly to some degree, since he could technically get more money out of her. Possibly his hard line of not wanting to become too dependant on her money.

The whole Neo Miw dynamic with them slut shaming each other and having differing opinions on what is the shameful way to earn money. No wonder they will fuck about it. 25.000 bhat is a hefty sum (even here where prices are higher than in thailand for sex)

I remember feeling unsure about Tay's acting during my first watch - even though he did improve since - but I very much enjoy his performance this time around (some of it is not that well-rounded, especially when he's in the same scene as Ssing. That man will put everything into the smallest amount of screen time). He is in the closet but doesn't seem too anxious about his friends setting him up to sleep with a woman. I think I will ponder this during future episodes. Why did he chose Miw though. As a reluctant hostess she might not be any good. It is possible he picked her assuming she would turn him down. But then, what is your plan b little gay boy? Shin also doesn't feel self-concious about being a virgin, his nervousness at Miw approaching him was very nicely done. Did they actually end up sleeping together? Do we know?

Max, my love, a short king! Gunsmile, it has been a long time. Jennie really should get bigger roles. I love her and the to men in this show, I only wish she'd gotten more scenes with Max since the diner scene is pretty iconic. And I can appreciate that Max's character is a gangster on the verge of turning into a wife guy. And how fucking scary his run after Joss is. Short kings, I tell you.

She's relatable, she's an icon, she's Elaine. She is more considerate than the other characters, but is ultimately still an awful person LOL. She's also, critically, funny as hell.

2. Tak Dong Kyung, Doom at Your Service

The subject matter of this show is pretty heavy, and only such a well-rounded character could carry it. The writing and acting for this character are amazing. She shows real pain, heartening humour, and admirable strength.

3. Do Bong Soon, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon

As far as Park Bo Young shows go, I do prefer Doom At Your Service overall. But Do Bong Soon herself is such a good character. She has that combo of tenacity, toughness, and goodness that I love. She's sweet but also strong.

4. Azula, Avatar the Last Airbender

She's a fascinating and heartbreaking character. I love how powerful and cutthroat she is, but I also love the progressive reveal of how damaged she is lmao.

5. Paa, Bad Buddy

Do not talk to me about the way my heart melts when she says "P'Inggggggg"

6. Taiga, Toradora

Iconic tsundere...that perfect balance of aggression masking vulnerability. I don't watch that much anime but this one holds a special place in my heart.

7. Philomena Cunk

8. Maeve Wiley, Sex Education

She has so much depth and strength. I love a character who is surprisingly (or, it's a surprise to the characters around them, at least) really really smart. She also reminds me a lot of one of my friends from high school, so she feels really real to me.

9. Miw, 3 Will Be Free

She's kind of mean, she's deeply caring. She's killed two men and is dating two men at once. She's a badass, she's a babygirl, she's Miw.

10. Annabeth, Percy Jackson / Riordanverse

I have watched ep 4-7 of 3wbf. So much happens every episode definitely not a boring show hahahah. I’m very happy Neo and Miw were able to rescue Shin from the woods so easily. I’ve been convinced Neo knows how wonderful Shin is however I’m still skeptical of Miw. Now I love Miw can she be mine? Please? But she do be a chaos fiend. Is PP not Boss John’s illegitimate child of some sort? Also he’s an iconic twink I stan. He should kiss Shin a bit simply because Shin deserves all the smoochies.

A) the Tall is where the Tallest is supposed to be?

Pros of A: it’s closer to the original 3wbf pose, the composition is better, I’ll learn more from reference, they look cuddlier 🥺

Pros of B: can see a bit more Erng, Miw and Erng are better positioned for a classic noggin boop, Fahsai’s hair is covered up more and frankly i don’t know how to begin drawing a half up do and would like to cheat rather then learn 😔, I just think it’s funny that Mew is in Miw’s spot

7:A song to drive to

Hmm what my approach should be for this? I don't drive, because after my first driving lesson i realized it'd be a safety hazard for everyone involved. I can't focus properly for the life of me.. But as a pessanger i'd say anything that you can sing along to. Something fun. Like Hypa hypa or We got the moves by Electric Callboy or something.

Ohh oh oooh or like Masked intruder by Crime Spree !! That's a fun one for sure. Also the radio station music from cyberpunk2077 ? 💋👌

But maybe for me more akin to driving would be songs to take long walks to or for long trainrides? That actually fully dependent on my mood, the weather, what time of day it happens..

15:A song that is a cover by another artist

Oh there is several i love so much. I can' just pick one so you gonna get a short list. This is not a complete list by any means, just the ones that came to mind first or listened to recently.

Hurt by Johnny Cash is never not going to be one of the best covers ever. I enjoy Corey Taylor's rendition of Wicked Game a lot. MIW did an amazing take on Somebody told me. I can't not say ST's version of I wanna dance with somebody, because i love that so much more than any other version. Mad World in Gary Jules' version is superb. Placebo's take on Running up that hill is an other one i enjoy a lot. As much as i'm not enjoying 30stm anymore, Leto's singing talent is undeniable and the cover of Stay by Rihanna is a top tier cover. I'm glad had the chance to hear it live. Than of course Everytime we touch became iconic with Cascasa to a generation for a reason, although Electric Callboy did a very fun spin on the cover of that cover. Oh and the Disturbed version of Sound of Silence, man that's up there with the Johnny Cash one.

There definitely are more i love a lot but my memory betrays me as usual.
