Back to Xillia 2 electric boogaloo! We are now on chapter 7.

My sister put a Jude plushie on Jude's shoulder: "Mitosis."

She had already forgotten about Alvin and Leia's secret handshake from the first game. Her: "I thought they didn't get along?" Me: "I think they invented it before he shot her." Cue both of us laughing at the idea of Alvin saying "See you Leia" before pulling the trigger

Jude keeps saying "Now I have the strength to protect!" Her: "NOW you do?! What about last game?? Did Milla mean nothing to you??"

She's just as baffled as I am at the way the Xillia cast accepts that they'll have to wipe out an entire world in order to leave the fractured dimension. Like these guys were looking for a way to bring peace between two worlds AND let Gaius be AND were upset when literal villains died. How are they not bothered by comitting genocide now.

We arrived at the first fractured dimension job in Trigleph. Jude and Leia split up to gather intel while the rest of the group is supposed to take the train, but my sister wanted to look around (trying to find a Fractured Ludger in his apartment lol). Leia seemed to be talking to NPCs but Jude was just standing there. Sis: "What happened to asking questions??" Me: "He's asking philosophical questions. Like, 'Is fighting really the only way?'"

Upon finding tomatoes at the Oscore center, Ludger comments that Julius would love them and Elle says her dad likes them too. My sis: "Does Julius have a daughter I don't know about? I do NOT want to be this girl's uncle." Can't wait til she finds out Ludger's not her uncle, he's her father 😏

The cats keep coming hack empty handed (or pawed, I suppose). We think they might be unionizing to get more treats

You can't use the job board in fractured dimensions, but you CAN go shopping. Sis: "Souvenirs of the world I'm going to destroy :)"

Leia and Jude are finally starting to express some discomfort at the thought of wiping out another dimension, and Alvin stepped up to play the bad guy because he's got experience with that. Aww...

Shortly afterward we found an empty hole that betrayed and disappointed us. Sis: "Just like Alvin." Me: "Poor Alvin, he's trying so hard to be a better person and we still can't let this go."

The music in the fractured version of the Torbalan Highroad is just sad piano, not sexy saxophone. Me: "In this dimension, Alvin is a pianist."

We made it to the Chronos fight but he is a royal pain, so we gotta grind for a bit next time.

Oh hi again! Um. Scrolling back I am compelled to inform you that autism is a neurological difference with strong genetic influence. That is, you're born with a brain that's wired differently than other people - not better or worse, just different. And it's not in vaccines, either. Being autistic isn't the same experience for every autistic person, but some common signs are extreme sensitivity or lack of sensitivity to sensory input, needing to regulate emotions in atypical ways, having trouble understanding the nonverbal cues of other people without explicit instruction, and having episodes where feeling overwhelmed is so powerful that you kind of become full of bees and lose some control because everything is exploding and it hurts and you have to let it out? I don't know if my attempt at explaining this is effective or the right thing to do in the first place but ohhhh my gods I cannot let the autism vaccine thing go even if it's a joke sorry

-neurological difference with strong genetic influence: so it's like something is up in the brain and it might run in the family? we don't know our extended family super well. Although, mom always said we had an aunt who hated people and loved trains, so...

-born with a brain that's wired differently. We have joltik infesting the wiring and chewing holes, not sure how much of a difference that makes.

-it's not in vaccines. Look, I don't actually care if it's in vaccines or not. Linnea hates them and makes us get a plushie for every time they stick a needle in us, but we don't get sick nearly as often. And honestly? I'm an adult with different priorities, I think we deserve a hot meal, but the plushies aren't bad either. If it works, it works.

-extreme reactions to sensory input: we don't actually have context for whether our reactions are normal or if everyone's just gaslighting us. same with not knowing the "typical" ways to regulate emotions.

-episodes of feeling overwhelmed and exploding bees: there's been a vote taken and we've decided not to unpack this one.

-not understanding nonverbal cues: oh those are for real bullshit.

Oh yeah-- Snowkit (new name pending) is interested in this, but he's kinda having his own thing going on right now. He's gotten Firestar's blessing and wants to leave the clans, officially.

in this house we use real butter and measure the vanilla with our heart! because the teaspoon is dirty and we suck at washing dishes.

making cookies is hard work, but we like it. it's like... i dunno, a lot of stuff we did was pointless and we didn't see the start or end of it. but now we can do a thing!

of course, we don't have the energy to do it all in one day... we'll have to leave the dirty dishes out for housekeeping to take care of, and then put the dough in the fridge.

....seriously, something is up with Zor. It's been really unhappy lately, and we don't know why.

Oof, that's a tough one...

The skitty don't have a very strong preference, honestly. Dragonite wants an alcremie, so we can eat snacks whenever we like, and the twins both agree they want something warm and huggable. Zor says something loyal, with sharp teeth.

Honestly? We'll have to talk to the social workers about it, but it's looking like a Lillipup might be the best option. Growlithe was brought up, but we don't really like fire types, for reasons we don't fully remember. Poochyena was also an option, but Linnea's scared it'll eat her plushies.

Augh, that's all for another day. We finished making cookies and are eating them with milk now! Maybe we got the wrong kind of chocolate chips? They taste a little funny. But extra butter was sooo good.

Dragonite says we need to eat more savory foods; our body deserves nice things, and it's what we're apparently craving. I wouldn't know, I'm not much of a foodie. I'm going to hand off the body to her so she can finish eating!

Okay. So, Zor is unhappy about there being strange people in our house. Which….makes sense. It’s protective of us and trying it’s best. But we need these people! We can’t do this alone and most of us have enough self awareness to know that driving them away is a bad idea.

[The Fluffstep system is shown looking into a mirror, not seeming to notice the camera. They look reasonably healthy, with round features and stretch marks on their upper arms indicating that they've gained some much-needed weight recently. They're short and pale, with shoulder-length grey hair tied back in a short ponytail, and are carefully sliding a purple floral hairclip into their bangs.

They smile uncertainly at the mirror, then nod firmly and move towards the couch. They touch the walls occasionally for support, and move gingerly, but don't seem to be in any large amount of distress. If anything, their primary emotion is annoyance.

The living room is small, rather plain, but with a few personal touches. A poster for Warrior Skitty on the wall, tacked up with putty. A glaringly mismatched pillow on the couch. A throw blanket with a print of oran berries crumpled on the armrest. Signs that someone, no matter how small and weak, is trying to make a home out of this house.

There's a knock at the door, and their entire body goes tense. "Housekeeping!" calls a cheerful voice.

The system's entire body language shifts, shoulders hunched and teeth bared. "Go away," it snaps. "Get! Out!"

"My apologies, ma'am," says the voice on the other side of the door, sounding accustomed to this. "Should I come back next Tuesday?"

The Fluffstep system hisses, stalking out of view and grabbing a chair to shove against the door. "Get! Go!"

"I'll check on you next Tuesday and mark you down as canceled," the voice says calmly, and footsteps can be heard faintly retreating.

Out of view of the camera, there is the sound of joints popping and weight slowly settling against the floor. "Why. Why are you so upset about the housekeeping lady doing our dishes. We're trying to be nice to you and listen. But you have to say something! I get it. You don't like people in our house. But we can't do this alone, Zor, our body can't take it!"]
