       For someone who had spent most of her lifetime drifting through the world with an almost unparalleled detachment, daily life struggling to make her feel one way or the other about anything, Isla suddenly found herself having to contend with more emotions than she knew what to do with. Her small frame wasn’t used to feeling so deeply or so much and it felt as though she could barely contain them all. She wasn’t used to feeling this way, or anything at all really, and after a whole life spent consistently underwhelmed by it all the afterlife that she had been taken into was far more overwhelming than she had ever bargained for. 

      It would be an understatement to say that it had been a steep learning curve when the very fact that she was still existing was enough to make her situation impossible to wrap her head around. By all accounts she should be dead, left in a back alley bruised and bloody with the intention that her last breath would be without another soul by her side. Except there had been someone there, a man (although that was perhaps no longer technically the term) who had taken her future into his own hands and made her into something she had never believed existed. From the moment she had awoken again nothing had been certain and the one thing she had always been sure of was the monotony of life. That certainty had been robbed from her, along with what she saw as her right to a peaceful nonexistence.

        Where some people might have been exceedingly grateful to have been given another chance at life, Isla wasn’t so sure it was something she was keen to try at. It made her feelings towards Cyrano that much more complicated when gratitude was not the foremost emotion that was running through her. Still from the time they had spent together there was something close to care in her and the two of them were undeniably tied together, however she knew she was more than a little guilty of keeping him at arms length and at times being almost resentful that he had decided to save her. It’s nothing she knows how to put into words when he challenges her though and instead eyes find the floor instead of meeting his as she gives him the closest thing to the truth that she can muster. “It’s not that simple.”

1:  Most well-developed muse you have ever played

Wesley Kelley. My son, my child, my angry boy.  I think, at least, he’s my most developed. His voice seems a bit more solid than most to me. Plus I’m 100% sure I could write for him absolutely any time throughout his life. I know so many pointless details about him it’s absurd. I also think I’ve done a decent job writing his contradicting views/attitudes without it being confusing or out of character (?).

3:  A face claim you can’t stand anymore.

Aar*n J*hnson, Kath*rine McN*mara, N*na D*brev, Dyl*n O’Br*en (except for one I loved)… Pretty much if they’re in the a-pp-less rp tag or a super common mascot FC I probably can’t stand them. Gotta admit, I’m super judgemental with faceclaims but if the character’s well written I’m easily swayed.

5: A character you want to play

I’ve had a character on the backburner for like a year named Poppy Hart. She’s definitely the meanest, least empathetic character I’ve written (she kills animals and would not stop at people) plus she has a very skewed perspective on the world seeing as she’s basically at zero as far as sympathising and empathising with people and incapable of love in the traditional sense. It’d be hella fun to write her perspective.

11:  A dynamic you would like to play out one day

I want to play more uneven relationships. I’ve always thought writing some unreciprocated romantic relationship would be super interesting. It could go any way really from just being tolerated or one is manipulative as long as they’re not on the same level at all. One person likes another, the other fucking hates them. Basically uneven and negative dynamics but I just make everyone too damn friendly this never happens.

18:  Pet Peeve when it comes to roleplaying

Those people that pick up like a really good bio character and then do nothing but post muse and vanity shit (not even songs or quotes, just aesthetic shit that’s not really specific? like it’s all bralettes and chick-a-fil or whatever the current cool aesthetic to reblog is) plus they write the character with absolutely no real personality and get rid of all the good qualities of the original bio into a bland personality-less character that just talks about watching Netflix and eating (even if they’re some super athletic character). They’re usually played by a conventionally attractive white guy that Tumblr’s inexplicably obsessed with. The real cherry on top is when they post enough replies to still meet activity checks… Not to sound bitter or bitchy but I’m secretly bitter and bitchy haha.

     If someone had told her a month ago that she would have ended up teaming up with the man she’d failed to put behind bars countless times, Kali would have had little issue with scoffing right in front of their face. The idea had seemed ridiculous when on more than one occasion she’d pulled him into the station filled with conviction that he was guilty of the crime that she was investigating only for him to slip through her fingers when there was never enough proof for a convincing case or her supervisors told her to back off. Their past encounters didn’t make for smooth sailing and she constantly found herself trying to bite her tongue and curb any dry or scathing comments that she might have had for his profession.

     Recent discoveries had meant that the man who she had considered her foil was now more of a partner - an unwanted necessity but one that she couldn’t currently do without. It was something she would have wanted to avoid in a heartbeat but this was a far from ordinary situation which required a departure from her usual way of operating. It left her with an uncomfortable feeling, having to rely so closely on someone that just weeks again she had been almost hellbent on putting him behind bars. Working with a partner was something she had had to train herself to do, always preferring to only count on herself rather than trust others to pick up her slack, but while she had been able to put some trust in those who were also on the force it was almost impossible to have any sort of faith in a criminal.

     His words prompt a scoff from her when she seemed to have little trouble showing glimpses of her disdain in anything but her words. Words are muttered darkly, figuring that when he was first to voice the subject she was hardly upsetting the uneasy peace between them by agreeing. “I’m not crazy about it either.” With a sigh, the detective stopped what she was doing and fixed him with a level gaze, remembering that they were all the other had to essentially stop themselves from going insane. It was all hard enough to wrap her head around without alienating the one person who could possibly understand the thoughts that were constantly racing through her head. “But we’re each other’s best shot right now if we want to solve this thing so like it or not we’re going to have to learn to deal with it.”

people give rp admins WAY too much shit... admining a group rp is so hard and it’s sooo disheartening when you get a bunch of people joining only for them to post a starter and then vanish. pls... save an admin... don’t join the rp if you dont want to rp.... it’s not up for the admin(s) to keep the group constantly active, members actually gotta be there
