these shots were very interesting to me because the parallels were quite direct. tsuwabuki was concerned for nanami due to her bovine behaviour; anthy was concerned for utena who was being pulled deeper into akio's grooming. both tsuwabuki and anthy felt that they couldn't reach or do much to help the other in their current positions. tsuwabuki would usually be likened to utena, while nanami and anthy were parallels to one another; the change of roles here is also interesting. much like nanami who was resting under a tree, utena was resting under a flower lamp.

Personally if Misturu Tsuwabaki really wanted to help Nanami in helping Anthy And Utena I would probably prefer the idea of Nanami and Saonji arriving late and having to find their own use of transportation with the help of Tsuwabaki likely turning into a motorcycle with a sidecar for maybe Nanami to drive with Saoinji in the car. Cause I’m just thinking of Nanami cool bad ass tricks to slow down the black cars with Saonji holding the steer.

I am absolutely down for Tsuwabuki the Motocycle with Nanami and Saionji late to the race, making their way through the black cars to catch up, getting rid of the ones that stand in their way in the most epic manner.

(from your cowbell analysis essay) Maybe this could be read as Tsuwabuki thinking Utena is less uncomfortable than she really is. I remember seeing a post from another user about how the former does admire and trust the latter, just as much as he admires Touga; it could have something to do with how Utena strives to be a prince despite being underestimated with people thinking that the role is something she really shouldn��t have, which may resonate with Tsuwabuki who wants to grow up and mature quickly.

this is a really good read!! thank you for sharing, i agree with your point!! it could be that his admiration of utena led him to overlook her discomfort, which could be unbecoming of a prince; similar to how being weak seemed unbecoming of a big brother to tsuwabuki (in episode 6, he put nanami in danger just to save her and tried fighting off a kangaroo for her sake). him being younger and of a different gender than utena certainly adds to his ignorance.
