Loid spelled out the name for confirmation but our little girl was like:

My theory for this expression is that it's not entirely because she's unsure of the spelling. It's not the usual wondering and brain racking. I was thinking that Subject 07's name might be

A.) an anagram for another name

B.) an acronym given by the lab guys

C.) somebody else's name

This is just my theory of course, out-of-nowhere thoughts right after reading it. Oh and let's not forget this potentially important and mysterious plot device:

Deer Diary,

It keeps rainin' and thunderin' outside, and it's mighty scary. Pa says we'll be safe as long as we stay inside the house.

I feel real sad… Silas has a terrible temper, and he's always makin' fun of me. It hurts 'cause I love him, bein' my brother 'n all. I've said sorry so many times, even begged for him to forgive me, but he just won't.

He acts like he's better 'cause he's a boy. Sometimes I wish I had another sibling so Silas would bother them instead of me. He calls me names like "fat" and "ugly" and now says I gotta keep his room tidy 'cause Ma and me do all the cleanin'.

I do it 'cause I'm scared of his anger. I tried talkin' to Ma 'bout Silas's temper, but I can't tell her 'bout how mean he is when we're alone. Ma says it's just a phase 'cause he's gettin' older.

Oh, and guess what? Ma told me that while Silas is at school, she's gonna teach me at home to be a proper lady.

I feel kinda sad 'cause I won't have as much time for paintin'. And it makes me wonder if Silas is right, if I'm really too fat and ugly.

Ma wouldn't say it if it wasn't true, right?

I'll try my best to be the perfect lady, though.

there’s a youtuber called timmy2cents that recently made a video criticizing the mother of one of the columbyne shooters and he breaks things down really well. I remember watching sue kleabold’s Ted talk a long time ago and don’t really remember much of it but I distinctly remember it making me uncomfortable. Before I watched it my initial thought was “wow it must be tough being the parent of a monster, good on her for speaking up” but that was not the impression she left on me after watching the whole thing.
