Thinking about that scene from shameless where mickey and ian are takin that bath together and mickey is like “😐this is gay” and ian says “WE’RE gay 😐😐😐” and mickey is just like “…i don’t think im this gay..🤨😐”

Anyway, It reminds me of timlex. Post series recovery arc, theyre still healing but are in a relationship and figuring that out too. They try some pretty stereotypical coupley things, kinda end up not being super into any of them. It feels weird to act like a normal couple when there is nothing at all normal about them.

Some parts are sort of normal though.

Alex has healed enough to where he can speak above a whisper now. He still has at least one piece of gauze taped up to his throat, because not all of those slashes are healing evenly, but Tim has taken it upon himself to be the one to redress it and clean it every day. He’s scrapped up a job, and so in the morning while hes getting ready for work, Alex will tiredly wander into their cramped bathroom. He’ll lean against the counter while Tim alternates brushing his teeth and very gently taping a piece of gauze over his throat. Alex will stare at his face, not managing eye contact, but the look is still intimate.

He’ll have fixed up some kinda TV dinner for the two of them to share by the time Tim gets home. After they eat, Tim removes the bandage and steps into the shower, Alex right behind him. Attached by the hip whenever theyre home together. Alex scrubs soap into Tim’s thick dark hair while Tim just holds him. Leaning his entire weight on Alex, chin on his shoulder and arms around his waist. The hot water spraying like bullets into his back. Sharing a few tender kisses. Touching and softly feeling each other. No words needed.

Those quiet moments have become a fixed part of their routine.

So, they arent quite “normal” enough for rose petals and champaigne and a bubble bath, but they find plenty of other ways to be really fuckin gay and stupidly into wach other.
