Providence Action outreach at Misspa Orphanage mile 5 Nkwen Bamenda Misspa Orphanage was established in 2005 with just a few Orphans by then and at the present day, there are 119. Among them are half-orphans and full orphans, who range from age 3 years to 25 years. As a result of my passion and desire to give back to my community and impact the lives of the less privileged, I came up with the Providence Action Initiative, to support the education and health of the less privileged. This was the inspiration behind this outreach. In addition, this was also to let the orphans know that we love and care about them. In all, 14 of us constituted the team for the visit. Before the outreach, we shared the idea with some friends and family members and they supported us with funds added to what we had, we used the money to purchase the items we donated. During the visit, we donated excises books, other writing materials (like pens pencils, rulers, calculators, chalks, colors, erasers, and a lot more). We also gave out dresses, food items, and some cash which was to support the hospital bills of one of the children who was booked for surgery. Apart from the material gifts and cash donation, different lessons with regards to education were also taught to the children by some of my team members during the outreach. The joy expressed by the children and the care-givers was so encouraging and overwhelming. We ended the event with refreshments and snapshots.
