write 15 things that make you happy then tag 15 of your followers: I was tagged by stiles24
1. When people randomly bring me little gifts out of the blue. I love love love when my friends are like “I saw this and instantly thought of you and had to get it.” Little things or obscure things. It could be as little as a funky little cookie from the coffee shop that got their coffee from that morning, or if they knew I needed to get a pack of pens and they took the initiative to get my favorite pens for me. Little thoughtful gifts, practical or whimsical, makes me feel like I’m as special to them as they are too me.
2. Burritos. One of my favorite burrito places is a good twenty to thirty minutes away from me, so being able to be close enough to get one makes me happy. I’m a girl who can eat and loves to eat.
3. Having a long to do list and having a ton of errands to and being able to finish most, if not all of my errands and crossing off things my to do list makes me really happy. I was always raised to be productive, to be efficient, and to do the things that need to get done. So being able to satisfy that part of me at the end of the day makes me really happy.
4. Going to the gym and getting in at least 45 minutes in on the elliptical. I used to dread exercising of any kind, and it wasn’t until this past year that I really understand that amazing feeling of pushing yourself to do better and seeing results, even little results, is a great feelings.
5. Writing long journal entries. I was never allowed to keep a journal growing up, and a few years ago, I finally just broke down and started one. And it was honestly one of the best decisions that I made. Writing has been such a therapeutic process for me, and has saved me from so much. This past semester, I haven’t been able to find time or inspiration to write, but now that I have time, being able to write lengthy entries makes me so happy.
6. Giving gifts. This goes along with number 1. I equally love giving small gifts to people and writing in what I’ve included and why I included them is something I really enjoy doing that also makes me happy. Because small gifts make me feel special, I like giving that same feeling to others. Especially when they least expect it. It brings me joy to see that glimmer in their eyes that they feel special really warms my heart.
7. Those few moments as soon as I wake up, being able to cherish the fact that I have a safe, warm bed, and getting to appreciate having so many opportunities that day to do things makes me happy. Even on the days that I either have to go to school or work, as much as I dread it, I’m happy that I have the opportunity to get a higher education (or any kind of education for that matter if I chose to) and being able to work and have a job. That moment of realization when I wake up, that makes me happy.
8. Those afternoons when I’ve already done all the things that I need to do, when I can randomly can go to the mall, shopping, or call up a friend to have lunch of coffee.
9. Talking to my dad. Growing up, we never had a great relationship because we never talked. But getting older and having begun the whole “adulthood” process, I’m starting to really understand and appreciate why and where my dad was coming from with how he and my mom raised my brother and I. Just being able to sit for 5 or 10 minutes here and there and just talk to him, and him being the first person I call when something good or bad happens to me makes me really happy to know that I have at least one person who has gone through it all on my side and in my corner.
10. Seeing other people succeed. As cheesy as it sounds, seeing people in general (whether I know them or not) succeed makes me happy. Whether that means at finding happiness for themselves, or accomplishing something that they worked so hard for, or even just succeed at doing some little thing like taking the first step at getting better or doing better. That makes me happy.
11. Being around people that I can genuinely just be silent around. Not that I don’t love talking to my friends or getting to know people. But there are so few people in my life where I’ve let myself get so close with them that we can sit and watch an entire movie and not say a single word throughout the entire hour and half or two hours and yet still that silence between us was not awkward at all. That comforting silence, that closeness that I have with a handful of my friends, that level of closeness makes me happy.
12. Learning. I’m the one person who when they are sitting in a doctor’s office or some place with tons of pamphlets or posters with facts on them, I’ll sit and read through as many as I can or take as many I can with me. Learning for me has always been fun. I hated school, but learning on my own terms has always been fun and always made me happy.
13. Sitting in coffee shops when there is an acoustic musician playing their guitar or writing music. Not when they are actually playing music for an audience, but they are so into their world, playing out a riff or humming and working through a chorus. Just being able to sit and listen to that makes me happy. Seeing a musician do their thing, so in their world to get that song right, so intensely, and getting to sit and listen to them make progress on their music makes me happy.
14. Seeing parents be good parents. Working at an amusement park and seeing parents be good parents, and actually listening and respecting their kids, no matter how old their kid(s) are really makes me happy and I have the peace of mind that there are genuinely great parents out there who will hopefully have good kids who will grow up to be good people something that I always smile at.
15. Making people laugh. I feel like I have an obscure sense of humor and it often times gets misunderstood, so being around people who get my humor and seeing them laugh will definitely put a smile on my face.
I tag: ashrosefortis, foreplayinspiredfood, theharrypeen, ruby-just-ruby, xtheskyunderthesea, notafraidofstopping876, bemeforawhile, moowiffle, crocmon, alphajaeger, arrbiters-grounds, curiouslysilent, carvinginthetree, missatomic, wildlifebinoculars, dancingthroughuni

My point is, celebrate that they’re good enough politicians to be elected, not their sexual preference. My critical...
"good enough politicians to be elected?" What does that even mean? Lots of terrible people have been elected in the past, why is that something celebrate? What's to celebrate is that the American people are ready to elect someone with a sexual orientation that's typically marginalized, and those politicians are more likely to promote inclusive policies because they understand the struggles lgbtq people face
I can see you refuse to listen to what I'm saying, so I'll end this conversation. I personally thought reblogging a positive post and talking about how much you don't care about it and you know better was a lot ruder, but that's just me. I'm typically short with people who I see as unlikely to have an open mind and that's my deal, so I do apologize for that.
