for once, the black hedgehog prone to crawling the nights deep in thought was without a sound word to say. an idea to ponder. for once, his mind was as blank as the whitest sheet of paper without a word upon it. standing before him was the reason, a girl who was clad in pink - a witch, and while that alone was not something worthy of note, it was the fact that she was so ... sincere? maybe ... innocent looking. perhaps that was it, given the fact that he had heard a number of disconcerting reports that anomalies were occurring all over the city, that a malevolent entity had to be behind it. dr. eggman, perhaps. maybe remnants of the black arms ( though he was certain they were long taken care of ). but this...

frankly, it was the last thing he was expecting there on that street in broad daylight, with not a soul around save for the parked cars that were empty of people. these facts alone were enough to send him into what could only be described as, well ... a mental freeze.

he had definitely seen everything go flying in the air. he had seen the pink pulses of energy radiate all around. and yet, they were gone in a trace. and look at her - how innocent. but children had a tendency to lie ... didn't they? right. yes they did. of course, what am i thinking? she could be just like them ... pretending, putting on a cute face to fool me. ha! but she's wrong. very wrong. thinking this was enough to harden his face again, glaring right at her. through her, perhaps, if it were possible to burn through someone's head with a stare alone. of course, it wasn't.

he wasn't concentrating hard enough for that.

" so. it's you. the pink witch. " he uttered, nearly spitting out the words with all the vitriol of the thickest venom. bitter, full, viscous. " i expected someone older, but it seems life has a way of playing with expectations. now then... "

his arms folded across the white tuft of fur across his chest, and his eyelids drooped ever so slightly. best not lie, child, they implied. hopefully, she would get the message.
