@fallenfar I really think they got kinda brainwashed by the "woke" movement which went too far to the right somewhere along the way and just became a dressed up way of being a conservative, and they've been infantilized and made to think they're poor innocent babies who can do no wrong. I never got that attitude when I was a teen myself on the internet, and just curated my own experience and took responsibility for if I saw or read something I didn't like. Now it's everyone else's fault if they come across something they didn't like, as if adults are deliberately trying to hurt teenagers by just enjoying some damn fiction in adult spaces *sighhh*

Gia I recently discovered biggest kept secret and it’s probably my fav bnha fic I’ve ever read, so of course I had to go through and read all of your other works and they’re amazing as well (obviously lol)!! Basically, your brain is iconic and your taste in tddk is perfectly in tune with mine and so I must ask- would you consider sharing a fic rec of your fav tddk fics?? I’m desperate for more stories but I struggle to find ones that hold my attention! (((If you don’t want to feel free to ignore this but the sentiment remains your storytelling capabilities are phenomenal!!!)))

i can’t tell you how much this message made me smile, this is so kind of you 🥺💗 i’m so happy you enjoy my work and how i write tddk!! to start with, this is an obvious one but pitviperofdoom’s entire catalogue is *chefs kiss* and the first tddk fics i ever read but cmon they’re a legend everyone knows their fics absolutely anything by unreemarkable is sure to be a golden fic. ree is an absolutely incredible author and just as good a friend, and her work is simply beautiful. the thought of you reverbs in my head is my personal favourite fic of hers, as is lover (which got me listening to taylor swift again for the first time in years lmao). i just. ugh. ree is amazing and i love them v much. 

probably (definitely) my favourite tododeku series of all time is come on play me something. i’m not joking when i say i think about that fic every few days. the way the author writes their relationship, shouto defrosting towards izuku, their mental health struggles, the friendships they have with others, several moments that actually had me gasping out loud... i’m completely obsessed. please please check it out it’s truly wonderful.

every cloud has a silver lining is a fic i constantly go back to if i need a pick me up. it’s so incredibly funny and has such a good pining ice king shouto/hopeless disaster izuku dynamic, and this fic absolutely solidified how i view shouto and momo’s friendship. it was one of the first tddk fics i ever read and i’m convinced it helped me with how much i love the pairing.  hard to get is a twitter thread that i ferociously binged over about two days. be aware that it does become nsfw, but did i absolutely devour this comedy of errors, shouto wanting a roommate but izuku thinking he’s looking for a sugar baby chaos?? absolutely. also the side kiribaku makes my heart ache and you’ll see why if you read but... i ached...

I just recently finished checks and balances, which was a JOY to read. their relationship progression and shouto’s character development is nothing short of phenomenal and so tender. it has a mini fan club on twitter and honestly?? understandable. it’s such a pick me up. also it makes me want to play ice hockey and i feel way better versed on the rules of the game now.

OH NO WHAT HAVE I DONE? Listen, you guys keep reminding me of ideas I have that I have been neglecting. I’ve mentioned I have like, 70 fic ideas in my Sterek folder, right? (Actually, is it still 70? I should check... I checked, it’s 87 now. This is no bueno.)

So @pdxtrent (who I can’t tag, for some reason), your shady AF boarding school idea, why would you do this to me? >.> Because I wasn’t thinking shady but the second you said that, my brain is now like “OMG YES I CAN DO THAT! I CAN DO SHADY BOARDING SCHOOL AU! THAT IS BASICALLY WHAT MY ORIGINAL SERIES IS, A SHADY BOARDING SCHOOL!” (I’d just have to make sure I don’t make it LIKE my original series, otherwise what’s the point? |D hahahaa)

AND APPARENTLY @ ANON, ONE OF THE HP FICS I FORGOT ABOUT HAD THEM AS YOUNGER??? I don’t remember this idea at all, but I just re-read it and Derek and Stiles met as kids and are friends and Derek goes to Hogwarts first and Stiles joins him later so like, apparently I had an idea about childhood friends Hogwarts AU that I COMPLETELY forgot???? (Kinda want to write that now, but I have to write Adara’s birthday fic first which I STILL HAVEN’T DONE BECAUSE I AM A BAD FRIEND orz) Though I do love that the last line of my entire idea for this one is literally “and he is protecting him and holy fuck and that's all I got |D” Because honestly, that is so me orz Past me and present me clearly have not changed |D

The actual idea I was thinking about I also got wrong, only Stiles is a professor LOL. Derek is a single dad (sort of? I tweaked ages a bit so he’s Cora’s guardian but like, Derek is 26, Stiles is 23 and Cora is 15 so that’s a thing). But yeah, it was just an idea I had because I wanted Charms Professor Stiles super smitten with the angry, broody Werewolf ‘dad’ of one of his best students. It was less elaborate than I thought, I think I mixed up the two different HP fics I had (while thoroughly forgetting all about the second one somehow???) which basically is story of my life because my memory is ATROCIOUS. 

Though reading the HP idea of single ‘dad’ Derek, my British came out because some of the things I wrote in the idea are so British... Ahahaha |D 

ANYWAY! That’s the HP idea o/ Where I managed to not at all tell you anything about the idea(s)... It’s a talent lol.

do you have any specifics?? if you're not comfortable then absolutely ignore me! i'm still trying to pull apart my own feelings and thoughts about druck so far (i too have depression) and talking about it and so far all i've read are glowing reviews when i'm mostly indifferent to it. i'm interested in your thoughts if you feel up to sharing them! no pressure though. i understand this particular fandom space can get hostile so absolutely understand if you don't want to

i don’t have time to share everything mainly because i have to get ready to go to class, but i’ll share what immediately comes to mind. 

the first big one is the way he’s portrayed around everyone else vs. the way he is with david. i think i understand what they were trying to show, but to me, it just reads as matteo can’t find happiness in anything unless he’s with david or around him. that’s such an unhealthy mindset and outlook for a depressed person to have and a dangerous message to send if matteo truly ends up being diagnosed with depression before the end of this season. i really wish i could better articulate this point and my brain is going a million miles per hour right now, and if you really want a further explanation, shoot me an ask, and i probably can eventually gather my thoughts better to talk about this at another time. 

also, just the general way matteo approaches life. like, i understand what depression can do to a person. trust me, a girl has severe depression, but the general apathy 24/7 and consistent pandering to that one single emotion is what frustrates me the most. i’m depressed, but i don’t become a lifeless shell void of a personality literally every single day consistently. you have medium days. you have bad days. you have good ones. i have a personality even when i’m depressed. when watching, it was like that was the only personality trait he had, and it was just so off-putting as depressed people still experience emotion especially when we’re in private at least in my experience.
