Lex losing his eye kills me because i know-- I just know that he would hide. he couldn't bear to face anyone. it definitely heals a bit fucked up because he won't let anyone touch him. he's too scared and afraid and for hydaelyn's sake he's a child in this moment.

he wanted to save his friend. he reached out. he tried and tried and tried and keeps trying but all he gets in return is more pain and more injuries.

he holds his face afterward, curling up alone. he purrs, gods does he try to purr and soothe himself, but he can't even breathe. he feels violated moreso than he did during the Ultima fight. later on, he comes back to his moment after losing a piece of his ear to zenos. he tries again - maybe this time the purrs will come. they don't.

does he even remember how?

he thinks back to being a kit with flames of pain licking across his face and blood drying incorrectly. curling up alone in a bed meant for someone better and praying. praying to gods and men alike for sanctuary. praying that someone will save him. that the skies will burn once more and let him run. he can't take it anymore. he wants to run so, so badly but cannot.

he's the warrior of light. and the warrior of light never gives up. no matter how many pieces of them burn away. no matter how many eyes or ears are lost. no matter if he can't think through the headaches or the loss of blood.

he has to keep moving on. everyone needs him. he can keep breaking and breaking and breaking.

who else will be the sacrifice if not him?

watching edible arrangement commercials thinking about jay ranting about how stupid they are, relentlessly… then seeing one in person & going 👀 & YOU JUST KNOW his apartment is all fruit for like a week cause he’s trying to make one look as good as his Flower arrangements…. & then he ends up giving them to people as early gifts and literally apologizes for it 😂 he still thinks they’re stupid gifts but he just wanted to do arrangements. He’s made it his friends’ problem.
