A few things before we get started in earnest:

1. The usual rules apply. You can find those on my main blog’s pinned post.

This blog WILL have bright colors, glitter, sparkle, multicolored things, fast GIFs, stripes, other patterns, shiny things, etc. I WILL warn for flashing, eyestrain/potential eyestrain, bright light effects, extremely fast GIFs, and very high contrast patterns (mainly stripes and checkerboard). This is because those types of things are the most potentially hazardous to people with photosensitive epilepsy and photosensitive migraines. HOWEVER, because of the nature of the things posted here, this sideblog is not suitable for all audiences. Efforts WILL be made to ensure that POTENTIAL HAZARDS are minimized and accounted for. Common warning tags I may use (not in tag form here so everyone can see) and their definitions:

🪩 “Flashing” refers to brief, sudden, intermittent bursts of bright light. Here, this is mainly applicable to visual effects that are or are substantially similar to a strobe light; an image that appears and disappears very quickly, colors that change rapidly, pulsating images or shapes, etc. “Mild flashing” refers specifically to flashing that does not take up a significant amount of space and is not very fast, but still fits the definition of “flashing”. To put this in perspective, if I were to post a GIF of an arcade game in attract mode, this would likely be tagged with “flashing”, whereas a GIF of an entire night sky with a single star intermittently flashing (and said star could be entirely covered up by the finger of an infant), this would be “mild flashing”.

🪩 “Fast GIF” refers to a GIF in which the motion is extremely rapid. For example, a GIF of Sonic the Hedgehog running would be tagged as a fast GIF. I tag these things because some people unfortunately have seizures triggered by viewing rapid motion, even if it isn’t flashing.

🪩 “Eyestrain” is a sort of catch-all for anything that is likely to cause eyestrain. “Potential eyestrain” is when it’s not extremely likely to cause eyestrain but still contains elements that can cause eyestrain. (For lack of any better examples, this is like how, when there’s a “tornado watch”, that means there might be a tornado soon, and when there’s a “tornado warning”, that means there is a tornado right now.)

🪩 “Bright lights” refers to bright light effects.

🪩 “High contrast” refers to images with a high contrast color palette in large sections of the image. This is particularly important for certain patterns in images.

🪩 “Stripes” refers to images with stripes. “High contrast stripes” refers to images with stripes that contrast highly.

🪩 “Checkerboard” refers to a series of differently-colored squares aligned in a pattern similar to that of a checkerboard or Chessboard.
