HERCAI - Amore e Vendetta

Trama:

Reyyan è la nipote di Nasuh Şadoğlu, patriarca di una delle famiglie più potenti della città di Midyat, in provincia di Mardin. Tuttavia, Reyyan non si è mai sentita amata e capita da nessun membro della sua famiglia tranne che da sua sorella minore, la piccola e dolce Gül, da sua madre Zehra e da suo padre Hazar (che l'amano incondizionatamente), il quale insieme allo zio di Reyyan, Cihan, è una delle figure più influenti ed importanti della numerosa famiglia. Nonostante ciò, il vero leader della famiglia è Nasuh, il severissimo e crudele nonno di Reyyan, che la disprezza e la maltratta costantemente in quanto non è la sua nipote biologica e, allo stesso tempo, lei non è a conoscenza di tale verità. Reyyan è una giovane ragazza innocente, buona e coraggiosa che sogna di essere libera. Il destino per la povera Reyyan cambia il giorno in cui incontra a cavallo Miran, l'erede della potente famiglia Aslanbey, giunto da Kars per vendicare l'omicidio dei suoi genitori, quando era ancora bambino. Miran è un uomo imprevedibile, istintivo e passionale, cresciuto nella rabbia e nella vendetta. Da qui inizia il vero calvario dei due giovani. Entrambe le vite di Miran e Reyyan, dopo il loro incontro, subiranno una radicale, viscerale e inaspettata svolta, che li coinvolgerà insieme a coloro che conoscono in un turbine di eventi e pericoli dove a farne da padroni sono degli incontrollabili sentimenti avvelenati da profondi rancori, gelosie, invidie, diaboliche macchinazioni, desideri di vendette sfrenate e tanti oscuri segreti che faranno riemergere un passato violento e colmo di misteri che era stato messo a tacere per troppo tempo e che vede protagonisti i diversi membri delle loro enigmatiche e ambigue famiglie, tutto in contrasto con il fulcro principale della storia: il tormentato, travagliato e complesso rapporto e legame, in continua evoluzione, che si istaura tra Miran e Reyyan, che si ritrovano ad essere vittime e allo stesso tempo carnefici delle disgrazie e difficoltà che li colpiscono, il tutto mentre entrambi sono visibilmente e profondamente combattuti a livello emotivo a causa dei loro complicati sentimenti contrastanti e dal proprio orgoglio ferito.

THE DIZI TAG GAME

So I saw this in the Sen Çal Kapımı tag and I was wondering if I should do this, since I'm not a dizi blog but my passion prevailed. So thank you @is-a-bele for bringing this back and yes please if you want, let's talk about dizis

1. Your first series and how did you discover Turkish dramas

Binbir Gece aka One Thousand and One Nights. It was on TV in 2012 as a first Turkish drama in Slovakia. The whole country loved it. We loved it so much that we invited the main actors here. I loved it so much that I had to see them when they came. And I did. And Halit Ergenç looked into my eyes and blew me a kiss. Which to this day is a highlight of my life.

2. Dizi you're currently watching

Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Köşem, as a former history major I do enjoy historical dizis. I mean the music, the costumes, the poetry... I fully recommend this one and the original Muhteşem Yüzyıl too

3. Your favorite genre of dizi (romcom, mafia show, contemporary drama, historical/fantasy, etc.)

Honestly, I don't have a favorite genre? If the ship is good and has a good chemistry I'm there.

4. The show you rewatched (parts of) the most

Sen Çal Kapımı. I made English subtitles for this show, so I watched it and then rewatched it and then again to make the subtitles as best as possible. Currently on my third rewatch

5. Favorite Turkish actor and actress (feel free to pick multiples)

Kerem Bürsin. From his color-changing eyes to his longing gazes and pain filled eyes I mean... Another great actor I can think of is Metin Akdülger, the actor who plays Sultan Murad in Muhteşem Yüzyıl, he is supposed to play this cold, hard Sultan but then he fell in love

6. A show you quit before finishing

Aşk Yeniden aka Love Again, I mean I'm all here for rom-coms, SCK being my favorite TV show of all time, but there is a line where comedy scenes turns into unrealistic ridiculous scenes, amd this show did it a lot

7. Favorite song you have discovered in dizis

One??? Imposible. Who Do You Love by Marc Lane, which was my most listened song in 2023. Then I gotta mention some Tencere Kapak by Kenan Doğulu and Kanatlarım Var Ruhumda by Nil Karaibrahimgil

8. The show whose plot disappointed you the most

Hmm, I'm gonna say Hercai and like I really liked the show just.. sometimes there are too many plot twist? Like his dad wasn't his dad and she was adopted and his mom was dead then she wasn't... Like how complicated can you make one dizi before it becomes too much?

9. A show that was cancelled too soon/ran too long

Since I don't watch tv shows that are less than like 50 episodes I can't really say about too soon. And I really can't think of one that ran too long

10. Favorite Character

Serkan Bolat my beloved complicated anxious man, you live rent free in my mind and you forever will

11. Your favorite romantic pairings

Eda x Serkan from SCK, number 1 ship that I've been obsessed with for almost 2 years now which is quite unheard of with me

Reyyan x Miran from Hercai, kudos for overcoming the toxic beginning

now I was really a fan of Murad and Farya from Köşem, but my friends they are really fucking it up right about now

another one I have to mention is Aybige and Malkoçoğlu Bali Bey, the ship with so much potential and the only one which probably wouldn't turn toxic

12. Favorite side characters

damn this is quite hard, I do like Seyfi and I have a soft spot for Aydan. Also Melo has to be mention here. From other shows I can only think of Sümbül

13. Best Kiss

Again one??? So many choices with Edser but I'm not gonna go with the famous ones. The one I really love is from ep 28, in the resort and Eda is wearing the white coat? Well they kiss twice in that scene but my favorite is the second kiss... it just felt really natural? Almost like a reflex, idk I just really enjoyed it 😄

Another one I have to mention is the first kiss of Murad and Farya, before the whole ship went to hell

14. An underrated show more people should watch

Köşem? Is it underrated? If it is then people you know what to watch next

15. A show everyone loves that you aren't interested

Umm I'm not sure I know a show that is like generally recommended and loved, so i can't answer this.

16. A show you want to recommend right now

Sen Çal Kapımı, always, a great rom-com with a great balance of drama and comedy, what more can you want?

my list has like 15 shows on it, but right after Köşem, I'm watching Kiralık Aşk

Turkish dramas 🦋

Okay, alright, as someone who truly believes that the world is filled with so many entertaining stories and shows that all need to be explored regardless of whether they're in different languages or not ( and I think that if you don't watch something because you're reading subtitles, you're missing out) I mean there are so many pros to exploring other cultures and languages.

Now that I am done with my little rant todays focus will be in Turkish dramas I recommend.

The difference in Turkish dramas compared to the rest of the other dramas I’ve watched like ( k dramas/ Korean dramas, Brazilian-dramas, telenovelas and more …) is probably just how entertaining they are without further ado my top recommended Turkish dramas

1. Hercai

The drama was recommended right smack in the middle of lockdown, so let's just say it saved me from boredom! In my opinion, this is the best Turkish drama I've ever watched. The storyline was amazing and filled with plot twists and crazy storylines. You'll never get bored watching it for a moment. You end up falling for the characters and getting caught up in Hercai's world. 10/10

Miran is seeking revenge for his parents death so he plans to marry daughter Reyyan from the family who was responsible for that. unexpectedly he falls in love with Reyyan.

2. Adim Farah

alright running second is Adim Farah is the most recent drama, I've watched and oh my soul it's amazing its got action, comedy and a beautiful love story and if you're a big fan of a bit of mystery as well. 10/10 ( second season coming soon)

summary: farah is a 28 year old Iranian woman who works illegally as a cleaner in istanbul and witnesses a crime commited by the mafia her life takes a huge turn

3. ask 101(love 101)

Someone said summer, yeah, this is the one. This show is two seasons and is a gripping story of friendship, love, and coming of age. 8/10

summary: love 101 ( ask 101) is a Turkish teen drama, that follows a group of 17-year-old misfits who set their mind on keeping their favourite teacher in town through a whole lot of scheming.

4. midnight at pera palace

It's so good, I binge-watched the whole series in one go. It's giving mystery, it's giving suspense, and it's giving what it needs to 9/10

summary: a young journalist, Esra’s encounter with the legendary Pera Palace Hotel in Istanbul. When Esra is assigned to write a piece about the hotel, she accidentally discovers that one of the historic rooms is a portal to the year 1919. Thrust into the past, she lands in the middle of a political conspiracy against the founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Together with Ahmet, the quirky hotel manager, Esra must protect the course of history and the future of Turkey. But Istanbul in 1919 is a dangerous place, and when Esra meets Halit, the handsome and mysterious owner of Istanbul’s wildest club, she realizes that in the Istanbul of 1919, nothing is as it seems and no one is who they say.

5. Who were we running from ( Biz kimden kaçiyorduk Anne)

Another thriller packed drama, with a while lot of mystery overall you will not regret watching although trigger warning things can get intense. 7/10

Summary: mother and her young daughter Bambi are on the run, away from someone, staying in luxury hotels, keeping on the move, leaving a trail of bodies behind…
