i cant believe my first art of juna is a disapponted doodle hdbcdc Major brainrot on the Kakawin Bharatayuddha (the javanese version of the Mahabharata) forced me to make more fanservants. Here we have Antasena (blue shrimp boy), Wisanggeni (fire lad), and Antareja — three original characters not found in the OG Mahabharata. (Details on each boy below)

Antasena is Bhima’s youngest son, born from the daughter of the Fresh-water Fish God Mintuna. Antasena was born with shrimp scales on his body, thus making him impervious to all weaponry. He has the ability to fly, breathe underwater, and swim in land as though it were water. He also has the ability to heal any wound via a technique Mintuna taught him. An honest and seemingly naive man who doesn’t quite think things through but is very genuine in every action. He can come off as rather rude since he’s not the best with social cues (and he finds them dumb too so-)

Wisanggeni is a son of Arjuna by the goddess Dresnala, fire god Batara Brahma’s daughter. Brahma hated the fact his daughter got hitched to a mortals and abused Dresnala so Wisanggeni could be born prematurely — all so Brahma could throw the baby into a volcanic crater. However, Wisanggeni (whose name legit means “fire poison”) didn’t die but got powered up by the magma and, with Batara Narada’s help, attacked the heavens. An arrogant dude who respects no one but has a secret heart of gold. No one in the story could defeat him except for Antasena who could only reach a draw — so they’re pretty close to each other. Unlike the naive Antasena, Wisanggeni’s a resourceful fucker who always has a trick up his sleeves.

Antareja is Bhima’s eldest son. In the oldest narratives, he used to just be Antasena’s adult name but eventually he split into his own character — though the storytellers took elements of Ghatotkacha’s and Antasena’s lore. Born by the naga princess Nagagini after the House of Wax arc, Antareja is covered in snake scales that make him impervious to all weapons. He also has a ring that allows him to never die as long as he’s connected to the earth, bring back the dead, and even swim in land. Like all nagas, Antareja is venomous — able to spew poisin from his mouth. If he licks someome’s sole, they will instantly die by naga poison. A quiet and reserved man who wants to seem respectable, Antareja is a dependable man who’ll follow any reasonable command without complaint. Also very self-conscious about his sole-licking technique so that’s why he’s summoned with a mask.

With how I’m writing them, neither Bhima nor Arjuna nor any Mahabharata Servants recognize them — something which all three find VERY disappointing.

kan/damz anon here with the promised sign-ghb pre/post scratch parallel ramblings. im gonna break this up into multiple asks bc it's a doozy. their roles are completely swapped. like,kurloz has a red rom with meulin and pale rom with mintuna like the signless had. but in the story of the signless,ghb/alternian kurloz is pratically a background character. all he does is kill dualscar (probably). it's like kurloz has been inserted into kankri's role. (1/3 i think-kam/danz anon)

furthermore,you can draw a Vast Honk/Vast Expletive parallel very vaguely. particularly since, iirc, it's shortly after that when Kurloz and Meulin break up, though it's not like she's out of his life (so not some kind of functional "exile" parallel even just relative to Kurloz) (2/3,kan/damz anon)

and finally,both their themes of worship. signless is something of a prophet,and followed,even after death,but not worshiped,his very descendant is mean to hail the end times. meanwhile,the whole makara line worships the mirthful messiahs and in turn,doc scratch,an effective devil figure for the story. (3/3,kan/damz anon is out)

Huh, there’s some interesting parallels and symbology there yeah, I’d never drawn all of them before. That said, the Signless is not actually Red for the Disciple! Remember their Relationship is Quadrant-Transcendent, “whatever that may mean”. But yeah I keep forgetting Meulin was with Troll Jesus in one Timeline, and with Troll Satan in the other-

this is silly and i really dont know a lot about classpects and stuff but i notice that… heirs have a lot to do with taking or following orders?

EQUIUS: major theme of character is that even though his role on the hemospectrum is to be in charge and tell everyone what to do, his greatest desire is to be told what to do and be bossed around. like he never shuts up about this, and its not even a weird zahhak thing bc Horuss NEVER does this. in fact if anything, he actually IS inherantly bossy always suggesting what others should do or what they could do together and rufioh suggests that horuss was a lot more forceful in the past when taking it upon himself to help rufioh gain strength and confidence.

JOHN: seems to always be inheriting a quest or another, especially bossed around by vriska, always listening to his friends to tell him what to do for them, just seems to be aimlessly blowing about on one (re)quest or another. its probably why it was so easy for vriska to tell john what to do rather than tavros, being told what to do comes naturally to john in a way it really doesnt for tavros. OH! and a REALLY BIG point about john is that his single biggest impact on the comic, the retcon, isnt off his own back, he does it because terezi literally ORDERED him to fix it. and not even politely ask him about it or suggest it either she legit commands him to FIX THIS! she literally writes out a list of commands, tells him everything he needs to do and he accepts the (re)quest and does it.

then when jane is going about forcing herself into the heir/ess role, she literally wears a tiara that mind controls her and tells her what to do. janes an active class so again, trying to be an heir really takes a toll on her, and rejecting the role of heir means rejecting being told what to do by the empress and forging her own path.

MITUNA: hes not around for long, as soon as his conversations w meenah are over his screentime is dominated by cronus, who takes a quick moment to check the bossed around box by telling him to stay put and out of sight, which mitunas really pleased to do for some reason. cronus comes back and says he didnt follow the order and mituna defends that he really did. then in the ministrife mintuna talks a bit and then cronus comes back to order him to be quiet and mituna apologises etc etc. like idk how much of this outlining of specifically following orders was necessary for such a minor character, esp when he has much more influential relationships with latula and kurloz, which basically get no time? since the alpha trolls exist in part to help give more information about classpect roles and systems, i think he might have been used to expand the heir mythos a touch.

mitunas not on screen much but his post-scratch the psiionic has strong ties to being ordered around. he used to be a literal slave to start with, then he joins the signless and helps him w his mission, then he gets enslaved again by the empress for thousands of years. and not only that but the archetype of the servant/slave kinda defines the goldblood role in society?

and thats what makes it so hard for sollux to follow and live up to his role as a goldblood bc hes an active class constantly trying to use his abilities to bend over backwards to help people. and though he often follows orders specifically from aradia, sometimes by feferi and karkat, most of the time hes telling others what to do, kinda showing his true active nature. but solluxs story ends when he realises that his friends dont completely rely on him to survive and he shouldnt be so self sacrificial to the point where he dies like, soooo many times. so he focuses on his own desires for the first time ever and takes the responsibility of looking after everyone off his shoulders cus its not his job to be at everyones beck and call.

idk if this is obvious and people already know this or whether its not so much an heir thing as it is a passive class thing but i feel like theres too many examples for it to just be a coincidence. i feel like the heir class might have a lot to do with carrying out (or inheriting) peoples wishes, being a questant, basically going up to people w the big exclaimation marks over their heads and completing their mission for you old school

ahh judulnya aneh bin random ya? Hehehe,kok tumben pakai logat jawa,yupss hari ini saya menghadiri undangan pernikahan teman saya,di salah satu hotel di jogjakarta,biasanya saya ketika menghadiri acara-acara kayak gini tidak ada gamelan/alat musik khas jawa tradisional,paling ya organ atau gitar dan lagu yang dimainkan pun lagu-lagu nostalgia atau lagu manca khas wedding,itu biasanya ma mennn,tapi hari ini ada gamelan komplit masuk hotel,suasana Jawa sangat kental sekali,mulai dari pakaian peserta acara serta crew wedding,

Oke langsung saja setelah duduk sambil makan suguhan terdengar suara MC(master ceremony) mengatakan "Monggo midangetaken dadi ati" yg artinya (silahkan menikmati dadi ati) dadi ati itu adalah sebuah judul lagu Jawa kuno,ketika awal mendengar lirik-lirik nya,saya sedikit mengerti dan otak saya terus menerjemahkan dalam pemikiran saya,(dikit-dikit saya paham saya juga orang Jawa) dan sembari otak bekerja tangan serta jemari saya sedikit bergerak mengikuti alunan lagu tersebut,

Setelah selesai Lagu di mainkan otak ku juga sudah selesai bekerja,saya langsung berkata dalam hati ,(aku ini siapa??) Setelah mendengar lagu tersebut,banyak sekali wisdom yang saya dapatkan,dan serta masalah-masalah yang saya/orang lain alami,sudah tertuang dalam lagu tersebut,lagu itu bahkan tercipta sebelum saya lahir didunia ini,tapi sudah bisa menggambarkan/merefleksikan di kehidupan yang sekarang,

yang artinya bahwa adanya orang menikah atau menjalin ikatan itu bukan karena wajahnya yang cantik/tampan, bukan karena harta yang dimiliki..

AMUNG ATI PAWITANE =hanya hatilah yang menyebabkannya..

Dari beberapa baris intro langgam tersebut dapat kita simpulkan, bahwa jangan memandang orang dari harta dan wajahnya saja. Karena jodoh itu datang dari rasa suka dihati.

Lalu masuk ke langgamnya yang dimulai dari kalimat “Goleka sing kaya ngapa?” yang artinya “mau cari yang seperti apa??” >>ini bisa disimpulkan bahwa sebenarnya yang dicari dalam jodoh kita atau pasangan hidup nantinya itu apa sih? Apakah kesempurnaan?

Wong nyatane kelakon seprene, angger-angger gendra, wekasane malah mbangun tresna. Bait tersebut dapat diartikan sebagai Hla kenyataanya sampai sekarang (banyak orang yang sering menjalani hubungan dengan apa adanya, gak mandang apa-apa, justru orang-orang yang seperti inilah yang pada akhirnya sampai pada pernikahan dan membangun cinta dalam bahtera rumah tangga.

Dudu banda dudu rupa, amung atine dadi tetaline, guyub rukun kadya pepindhane mimi lan mintuna , pada bait ini bisa kita pahami bahwa bukan kecantikan atau harta yang dijadikan dasar, hanyalah hati yang mengikatnya,, karena hati itulah pada akhirnya mereka menjalani kehidupan yang rukun dan tentram bagaikan mimi lan mintuna .

Nb:(mimi lan mintuna adalah pengibaratan dalam peribahasa jawa terhadap 2 orang yang selalu rukun dan bersama)

Lalu pada bait terakhir ada beberapa lirik: Wus jamak lumrahe yen wong urip coba lan godane gedhe,, suprandene ora nganti ndadak dadi gawe, rina wengi dadi ati, wong prasaja luhur bebudine, dasare gemati...... momong putra alus bebudine. >>> yang mempunyai makna :Sudah sewajarnya orang hidup didunia ini banyak cobaan dan godaannya, namun semua itu seharusnya tidak mejadikannya hal yang bisa merusak kehidupan yang sudah dijalani, ,, siang malam menjadi hati (cinta), orang yang bijaksana luhur budi pekertinya... dasarnya orang-orang yang penyayang.. mendidik anak ya dengan budi pekerti yang halus...

Ya... begitulah makna yang bisa saya pelajari dari lagu jawa yang berjudul DADI ATI ini. Semua musik itu indah,, seni itu indah. Dan alangkah lebih indah lagi jika selalu tersirat dan tersurat pesan kebaikan didalamnya. Terlebih lagi pesan yang bisa kita jadikan nasehat atau pitutur untuk kehidupan kita kedepannya : )

Sengaja mereview langgam ini karena DADI ATI ini adalah langgam yang cocok dinyanyikan saat pernikahan. Kebetulan banyak sahabat-sahabat saya yang akhir-akhir ini menikah. Jadi ya, saya anggap review langgam ini sebagai ucapan Happy Wedding untuk mereka semua aja. Semoga bahagia menjalani kehidupannya yang baru. Menjadi keluarga yang sakinah, mawadah warohmah.
