Fun fact this is a live album (i didn't know that when i listened to it the first time), and the recording is a compilation of a much bigger concert over 2 days in Chuo Kaikan Hall, Tokyo in February 1982.
This band (like many other Japanese Jazz Fusion bands, including T-Square, or Prism) is absolutely terrific when performing live, and many cases their live version of their songs are much more popular than the studio versions.
There exist 3 videos online of this concert, including the songs Domino Line (imo best song from the album), Midnight Rendezvous, and Asayake (tho recording of Asayake is from a different day of the concert, so it differs from the Mint Jams version).
The keyboardist (Minoru Mukayia) is my favourite member of this band (not only because i also play keys and really like learn to play his parts of the songs), tho also he is really entertaining in his style of playing and stage performance (telling stories from various tours they did, like one time his super expensive 20000 dollar synthesizer he was lended from Yamaha, was soaked with rainwater during a performance, tbh these stories make me wish i could understand Japanese cos i wanna hear more, and only few MC's were translated).
Speaking of which, the electric piano at the beggining is actually the 20000 dollar Yamaha GS-1, which was HUGE, almost the size of a grand piano, later i guess he got fed up with it (probably after rainwater incident^^;) and started using much more compact Yamaha DX line of synthesizers (which, he was using couple of prototypes on their studio albums like "Jive Jive" from 1983).
I recommend checking out their Concert Live videos like "Casiopea Live" from 1985, and "Perfect Live II" from 1986.
And also would recommend listening to their first album "Casiopea" from 1979, which really differs in sound from their later years (includes a few arrangements with string sections and horns).
